Dr Herbst was excellent initially. Then, my dog was treated with an antibiotic for a Mast cell tumor that was diagnosed too late. He sadly died. For Months , I got a bill and mailings for shots needed. I emailed them twice to say the pet had died. The cancer vet had sent them records, so they knew So insensitive. THAT was terrible. They got too big for their britches. It's all about the money. I guess they have forgotten about compassion when the would is raw we have a new vet we love, and are happy to pay what they charge. For exotics, go straight to the Odd Pet Vet in Weymouth. Despite having a culture, Dr. Herbst treated my boa with the wrong antibiotic protocol. Shots every 72 hours, and he was not getting better. Brought him to Dr Mertz at Odd Pet Vet, where he was put on the correct protocol. Unfortunately, the infection had proliferated due to Dr. Herbst's malpractice, and my beloved 17 year old boa ended up bleeding to death in my arms. To add insult to injury, Dr Herbst's office sent me a bill for a paltry $30 after they knew my boa had already died due to their negligence. read more

I am so glad I found All Pets Medical (Google search). They are terrific. How so? Because their prices are reasonable and they are so knowledgeable, and equally important to me, sensitive and caring, both to owners and pets! Dr. Lavelli and Dr. Herbst and extraordinary. Our dog, Bonnie, had advanced Lyme's Disease. It came to the point where we knew we had to put her down. Dr. Herbst was so sensitive and considerate in relaying the information. We trusted her and felt as much comfort as you can in a situation like that. I very seldom see this level of service, especially the humanity aspect, so therefore I am compelled to write this review. I had my 6 month old kitten, brought her in for sluggishness little too no eating and drinking and not going too the bathroom, the doctors immediately showers with me my cats gonna die there was no sympathy nothing they got an X-ray and showed a foreign object but the minute I said she had diarrhea prior too the last couple days everything changed, she told me too go home so I did. next day I'm at work trying too find someone who can help with financials too get a surgery, instead of actually helping they threaten too call the Bourne police on me for animal cruelty which is unbelievable I'm 19 and trying too save my cat. Then I called and asked about the threat and they lied and said no threat was made. so I made the right choice too put her down. Dr. Herbst is kind, thorough and knowledgeable so this has nothing to do with her, but I will be taking my business elsewhere. They've lost their touch in recent years. Front office staff are absolutely clueless and rude. I was given someone else's discharge sheet after taking my kittens to their first vaccine appointment. The thing that bothers me the most is that during their first vaccine appointment I was told they would need to come back in for a second distemper vaccine, so we booked that second visit right then and there and the second shots were done a few weeks later. A few weeks after that we got late visit postcards in the mail??? I assumed they were sent in error as I was just there and their vaccinations were complete. I called and apparently we were overdue on their 3rd vaccinations. I was never told they needed to come in for a third round of shots, when I left the last time they didn't schedule me to come in again, so I was wildly confused. By the time I called to rebook their 3rd distempers, the boy at the front desk told me (with uncertainty) that it was already too late and I'd have to start the shots all over again. I've called during office hours five times in the past week and I go straight to voicemail. Just all together unimpressed with their business and will be going somewhere that has things a little more organized. read more

I cannot say enough good things about Dr Herbst and the care she and her team gave my dog, Riley. We went to them for acupuncture treatments while we were on the Cape for 2 weeks. By the time we got there, Dr. Herbst had read his medical records, and understood just what he needed. She was patient and gentle with him, and took the time to sit with him and with me. I don't know that I have ever met another vet who conveyed such compassion toward animals. Her staff was also professional and patient, even when he messed up their floor. : ) I am sorry for the other review - my experience was completely different. I have been telling all of my friends on the Cape about them, and will continue to do so. read more

I Was never treated so rudely. Tried to get my dog in for urinating blood... first girl said, get a sample, drop off next day at 8 am and we'll try and work you in. I did, but when I called to say I was there to drop off the sample, a different girl said, we can't see you.. last spot was taken. I explained I was doing as was told.... This was a Tues... she said I can see you monday. I said, she'll be in kidney failure by then.. then very rudely she said, she can't die of an UTI!! I was in shock of lack of compassion. I said good bye.... and for good! I bet if the Dr knew how she lost a patient , they would be upset. read more

We had a horrible experience in which we were not given complete information (in fact, bc the "printer wasn't working" we never even got a copy of the blood work we paid for) that lead to a lot of confusion and pain. My conclusion is that the vets at All Pets Medical advise from their own worldview and philosophy, rather than doing what I see as their mandate-giving accurate and full information to allow pet owners to make informed decisions about their pets care. In our case, this proved detrimental and lead to my cat's premature death. I would call them, including and especially the lead vet, Dr. Herbst, incompetent, bordering on malicious. read more

I was VERY happy with our visit! Dr. Harmony Fall was certainly more concerned the care and health of our cats than pushing services on us that would fatten the bill. Only thing I didn't like was I was quoted $215 to bring in two of our three cats for special services. This meant I wasn't going to be able to treat one cat who needed treatment. During the visit and after speaking to the doctor it was clear I didn't need most of what I was quoted to have needed and was able to intact treat both cats for less than half of what I was told over the phone. I think it would have been wonderful to have had a bit more information about what the breakdown of the quote was and that was my fault too for not asking as well. So I can't really fault the office. All in all it was a great experience to have a doctor explain honestly the pros and cons of vaccines without making me feel guilty or that I was a bad person for waiting to do a shot until next time to spread out the cost. She was gentle and gave advice about skin conditions and was just really wonderful. read more

GARBAGE DO NOT BRING YOUR FUR BABY HERE. after giving my dog medication she didn't need, taking her out of my sight after I specially asked for her to get her shot in front of me, and giving her an X-ray (that they knew they'd charge me for) WITHOUT my permission they are now bringing me to small claims court for $400 (don't know how they came up with this number) I am absolutely OUTRAGED. I called the office before getting this claim in the mail to speak to lead vet Annette. And she NEVER called me. Now I have to take a day off of work 7 months pregnant to deal with this bullshit. I am disgusted and hurt that they didn't care about my dog or respect me enough to CALL me and tell me I owe money instead of letting this amount build over time. read more

I was really nervous to try a new vet, but I'm glad I found Dr.Herbst and her clinic. They have a separate entrance for cats and dogs which I'm sure my very nervous kitty appreciated. Everyone there was very nice and professional. I felt like I was in good hands. Dr.Herbst also called me a few times to check in and see how my cat was doing in between my appointments. They use email reminders for appointments so you have your time slot handy on your phone at all times which I think is great! A regular appointment is fairly inexpensive and they were upfront in explaining to me the costs of doing blood work and my options because it was going to be quite a bit of money if I opted into it. I was a little surprised that there were additional charges for nail trimming and blood pressure and every thing else but at the same time I understand that it costs to train people to use the equipment and to buy the equipment. Love All Pets! We always look for AAHA Accreditation at a minimum, the people from our first phone call determine if we will even bother. We began bringing our animals to All Pets about two years ago...we live 1.5 hours away, but know our babies are in good hands with Dr. Herbst. Since we live so far, if we have any questions or concerns we can contact Dr. H directly day or night. What vet today does that? Always full disclosure of any concerns to make any choices for care. Very transparent and will not run any unnecessary procedures to inflate charges, priority is the best interest of animals and their families. Two years ago, we had only 2 dogs and were thinking about adding a pig to our family. A complete stranger and not even a client, Dr. H took time with me on the phone answering all my questions and giving me critical knowledge to the reality of pig ownership (size, intelligence, dominance, bringing home a piglet with dogs, etc). The day after getting our piglet we were at All Pets having her checked out, that day we became a part of the All Pets Family! So much trust that one day all three of our babies went under anesthesia (dogs for dental cleanings, piglet for spay), while very anxious we knew they were in the best hands of Dr. H and her awesome staff. Consulted with Dr. H when considering getting another pig, again gave us amazing advice on how to manage with our current DIVA pig and considerations in getting another pig (i.e. age, sex, patience, etc.). Then one day while at All Pets with the dogs....there were piglets waiting to go to their new homes....we now have 2 pigs. read more

I have been going to All Pets Medical for years. I first went to them because I wasn't too happy with a previous vet and the care my Sammy was being given. Dr. Herbst help get us through it and get Sammy on track. Then we got Teddy to keep Sammy company, and continued going to All Pets. Yes, Dr. Herbst can be direct, however, that shows me she cares more for my dogs, than my feelings. Woohoo, that is the kind of doctor I want. I no longer have Sammy and Teddy due to old age not some kind of ill treatment from All Pets, which again Dr.Hebst and all the staff helped me get through (they even sent me sympathy cards each time my dogs passed). Again showing me how much they really do care. I now have two puppies Whiskey and Wilma. They absolutely look forward to going for their visits, which we have a lot of. As you might imagine, two puppies at the same time can be a financial burden. Dr. Herbst was very willing to work with me on the best way to give them the care they need. Thankfully it didn't come to that, but it just re-affirmed how much Dr. Herbst and the staff cares. I am sorry for that the previous review lost their cat, but quite frankly, I find it very hard to believe that it was due to any mistreatment or lack of care from All Pets Medical. read more
