The limping got worse and decided to take her to a different place for a second opinion, immediately knew that she had tore her ACL and was beyond shocked that Animal health clinic did nothing to test for this the first time we brought her to them about the limping. So now because we have been told for months it's not a concern, she has a full ACL tear and got emergency surgery for something that if caught in the beginning could have possibly been aided to and resolved and she would not have been suffering in the amount of pain she has been for so long now. So to say the least I am very upset with this vet and their lack of care for my dog and just to top it off when requesting my dogs records and explaining why I am upset they said absolutely nothing, no apology, no phone call to discuss just sent the records that to me confirms that they do not truly care about the animals they are supposed to be taking car of. Whereas I didn't experience that during this visit, I am well aware that there are humans that are less than humane when it comes to treating other humans. No amount of pain for our pet does not justify behaving unkindly to the staff that goes out of their way, overworked, understaffed and more than likely underpaid, to care for you beloved companion. Many people don't understand either that the venture capital greedy monopoly veterinarian care system puts enormous pressure on veterinary care to sell services and control the out of control emotional costs for care that is not necessarily covered by pet care (and is worse if you don't have it). It is EXPENSIVE. And coverage leaves a lot to the imagination. Pet ownership comes with many caveats and that is one of them. But that is NOT THE EMPLOYEES at the front, fault. Everyone is friendly, the vets and the techs are knowledgable, kind and helpful. Today, Friday before the Labor Day weekend, we had a small emergency and our dog was seen immediately, Even though they were busy and it was getting toward closing, as soon as we walked in Max was seen, thoroughly evaluated, and we left with an eyedrop prescription. My dog was given the injection into his right shoulder by a Dr. "Abby". I asked Dr. "Abby" when another booster would be needed and she stated that the vaccine was good for one year. I asked her if I could read the literature included in the used boxed vaccine container. The literature stated that boosters are recommended every eight months. I brought this up to her and she was totally unaware of this important fact. She asked another coworker and that person stated that the booster is done every eight months. This is not the bad part. Since that injection four months ago, my dog has been made lame. His right front paw is no longer used. I brought him back after two weeks and Dr. "Abby" stated that his lameness was not related to the injection. I beg to differ. I am not a veterinarian or any type of medical professional, but a perfectly healthy dog is transformed into a three-legged lame dog? Everyone makes mistakes, but owning up to one's own mistake and adequately dealing with a problem is not what occurred here. This is unprofessional in every way, so I may only hope that my dog is eventually healed, and he can be the happy dog he was before this fiasco.
