Mercedes "Benz" the groomer gives excellent cuts, but the customer comes LAST with Pampered Paws! After TWENTY appointments at 11 AM over two YEARS, my dog had an appointment they scheduled for 10 AM today which apparently I had "confirmed" by auto-text a week ago? When my husband arrived at 11 AM he was informed they would not take my dog as we were "more than half a hour late" which is a "grace period", that our dog could be put on a "waiting list" and oh by the way when they would finally groom her whenever that would be, they wanted an additional $35 "late fee" for... what exactly? When it was them that wouldn't take the dog? Over the two years we were given crap for arriving BEFORE 11 "we have other clients you know" so today my husband actually spent time waiting around in order not to arrive TOO EARLY which he apologized to me for when he got home as if he wasn't doing exactly what Pampered Paws had taught us to expect to do. We have also been given crap for not picking her up early when contacted as if were supposed to expectd to be available, or for attempting to pick her up on time without being contacted, because it's somehow the client's fault that the groomer hasn't gotten the dog finished after FIVE HOURS at the boutique. One of them has very poor social skills and actually lied to my dog sitter back in December the last time Amber was groomed there; this woman claimed to my sitter that services are "never prepaid" and that my sitter was lying when she stated her experience to the contrary. As despite the labeled button on their website, Pampered Paws has no actual publicly available written policies, it's understandable that there is ambiguity, so a few days later I did have a conversation over the phone that seemed to clarify that prepaying was possible (which I knew because we had done it) but failed to address the issue of the rude behavior. Judee actually chuckled on the phone when saying that is "not their policy to release a dog without paying" as if we weren't long-term clients with known phone numbers who could have given a credit card over the phone if we had even been asked. She absolutely bungled that interaction but rather than apolgize she just doubled down on the sarcasm. I should have taken it as a sign there and then. Round numbers, I have spent $2000 at Pampered Paws, but they won't get another cent from me until they're "Under New Management"! read more

Owner is horrible! After 11 years grooming our 2 female Samoyeds since they were puppies, suddenly the owner stated she will no longer groom our girls. We were charged $150/dog. We were prepared to pay $150x2. Then she claims she losing money and will have to charge $100 additional!! What!!!! Our Naples Florida groomer charges $120 x 2, and they know how to groom Samoyeds with their double coats. The owner continually changes prices. She was rude and unprofessional. After 11 years!!!!! She has a policy of charging customers if they are late or need to cancel. However, she has called us numerous times to come at a different time or change our appointment to another day. We were nice enough to accommodate her. When we tried to remind her of that, she said she thinks more of herself to be talked to like that, told us that she was not going to charge us, take your dogs and leave. I have two purebred English Labradors. They are big dogs, young and very active. Needless to say - they are a lot! Well behaved, but big energy. Pampered Paws has done an immaculate job with handling them and especially grooming them. We go camping a lot and we are outdoors all the time - my dogs get really dirty from being outside so much. Though I am embarrassed bringing them there like that - their team is always up for the challenge, and they come out looking sooo good and smelling even better. Their store is the cutest, and is always well stocked. Easy to book, always answer phone calls and have been a really good resource with my pups care too! read more

How's this for a story? I have been a loyal customer of Pampered Paws Pet Salon for a few years. As far as grooming goes, they do a very good job. But the owner clearly has a huge chip on her shoulder. A few years ago, I noticed a sign at the front upon check-in: "Sorry not, sorry for being closed on [Day of the week]. I thought it was a bit rude, but didn't give it a ton of thought. This year, I had to cancel an appointment for next week because I am out of town. Mind you, this was NOT a last-minute cancellation. I offered to pay for the appointment that I had to cancel. I also asked if I could reschedule. I was told that I could no longer be a client because of canceling the appointment. This is after I offered to pay for the canceled appointment! I was told this was their "policy" - I was unaware of it - and they would not accept my payment for the missed service, because that "was not their policy." I understand the plight of small business owners, I really do. This is why I offered to pay for the missed service. The response was punitive, and just plain mean. *Please do not support this business.* No Customer deserves to be treated this way. Clearly, there is no professionalism, an absence of kindness, and complete inflexibility that is preposterous!! I cannot imagine any business operating this way. Again, please don't support these businesses. They don't deserve our patronage, and clearly they don't value it. read more

We used their self wash for our pugs! Super clean and they supplied everything from the shampoo and conditioner to the fluffy towels. The pugs got a day at the spa we also did add-ons they clip their nails and expressed their anal glands. They're so thankful for the service. Our piggies are clean and happy. read more

There isn't anyone better than Marybeth and her team at Pampered Paws! We drive a half hour each way, crossing the bridge, because of her talent and the experience our two dogs have there every month. She is patient, kind, and so wonderful with all the dogs in her care. Our dog came out groomed well although he'd been there 2.5 hours before I got a text asking if I wanted him trimmed. We have one dog who has been going there for a few years. It's with a heavy heart that I post this review. For years I have gone to this groomer. I have found it lovely. The salon is clean and my dog seems to like it there. They are so busy one is required to book appointments well in advance, which I have historically done. The last several resulted in requests for a change of appt. The first was less than the required 24 hours due to a stomach bug and the second was 48 hours due to unforeseen travel. I was told that they could no longer service my pet. I have been a loyal customer for 4.5 years. I was shocked at the tone of the text I had received. I was willing to pay for the appt that was not canceled during the designated window. Either way, I was shocked to receive such an abrupt text message when we have been loyal to this small business for years. I begged and asked to please be allowed to bring my dog back, to which a pardon for my crimes was issued. After considering all of it, I have decided NOT to return. If this how they are willing to treat a loyal customer, I think I would rather just patronize someplace that values my business. read more

After searching groomers on Yelp, Pampered Paws was at the top of the class. So I reach out on Yelp and get lighting fast communication. Setting up an appointment was a breeze. Marybeth clearly loves animals as does her crew. Our little poodle guy went in literally dirty (he lives for rolling in the grass) and his coat was fully grown out. He came back to us perfectly cut and his face was expertly trimmed. Also he smelled amazing which was a bonus. His grooming was top notch and we were also told he could play with other dogs if we wanted or be on his own. He came out with a cute bandana and nails perfectly cut wagging his ridiculous fan tail. He was clearly happy. From communication to end result, I am highly pleased with Pampered Paws. I think the ultimate test of any animal service is would I go back and would I recommend to a friend, and I can guarantee the next time his poodle hair gets whacky aka a few weeks, I will be calling Pampered Paws. I also recommend them to all my fellow Yelpers. Appointments and price quote were easy via Yelp message and our pup was ready in about 4 hours. Plenty of parking. Highly recommended! I am so thankful to have found such a patient groomer for my dog! I have a rescue who has severe anxiety. I have struggled to find someone who will take the time and even ATTEMPT to cut her nails. She squirms and whines and barks because she does not like having her nails cut/being touched by strangers but Marybeth was willing to try and has been so successful. Marybeth (the owner and one of the groomers) understands my dog's dramatics and is able to still get her nails cut! I also love that any dogs that are there to be groomed are not caged up, but instead are free to roam around and play! Such a dog friendly, welcoming environment. When you arrive you are greeted by a friendly staff and adorable furry little dog who sits on the desk . They are fantastic there. My dog was always afraid of the groomers. But not at Pampered Paws! I tell him where he is going and he jumps in the car and when we get there hi jumps right out and goes in. Everyone is so friendly and they respect your wishes. I totally agree with the previous reviews! I first brought Chloe to Pampered Paws last December on the recommendation of a friend who has had "natural" poodles her entire life, because she raved about Marybeth. I then found out that two of my neighbours take their dogs there, and one of they referred to Marybeth as the dog whisperer. When I brought in Chloe, a Cairn Terrier, her coat was in terrible shape because Cairns are awfully hard to groom properly and we avoided grooming I'm afraid. Marybeth didn't look at all afraid and did a beautiful job of bringing order to chaos! I definitely hope to bring Chloe here forever and would definitely refer my friends. Since I wrote the above review, we've had Chloe groomed at Pampered Pets three or four times and have an appointment coming up. Each time, people have commented on how much younger she looks and how striking her coat is! We still would definitely recommend them. read more

Our Samoyed is three and she had been washed and brushed regularly. The problem was that we really did not know what we were doing.The piles and piles of fluff that we had brushed were only the tip of the iceberg. Pampered Paws had her looking so good after her first visit. It was amazing. This was her first visit to a groomer and also her first time away from us or family. We know it was stressful for her, not only from the separation anxiety, but also from the fairly intensive grooming that was required. She did drink allot when arriving home and we suspect that she was panting during the three hours away. It's doubtful that she will ever love being groomed or bathed by us or anyone else, but, we expect that the experience will be less stressful in the future as she becomes familiar. My dog, Josie, was terrified of having her nails clipped. Her vet used to do it and she would cry and yelp in the back room (they wouldn't let me stay with her) and it was awful. I heard about Pampered Paws from a friend and I decided to give them a try. When I brought Josie to Pampered Paws for the first time and explained her situation, Marybeth suggested that we visit a few times to get Josie used to going to the salon and having her paws handled before actually doing anything. So, we would show up, Marybeth would get Josie set up on the grooming table and handled her paws, while I fed her some "high value" treats. It worked! The first actual nail clipping was a breeze! Marybeth clipped Josie's nails, while I fed her treats and Josie was as calm and cool as a cucumber. It was a pleasant experience for everyone. We continue to work together like this when Josie needs a nail trim. Plus, we both adore Marybeth! She is friendly, professional, and an excellent groomer- She gave Josie the royal treatment (bath and nail trim) before my wedding (Josie was the flower girl) and she looked and smelled amazing! From my first visit, I knew that I was going to become a regular there. Marybeth did an awesome job grooming my Rottie. The salon is very spacious and clean as well, and the prices are very fair (she offers specials all the time too.)
