Lifesaver on a Saturday…read more We were really in a bind--our AC went out on a Saturday, and by the time our home warranty put in a request, all of the contractors they worked with were already closed for the day. Meanwhile, our house temperature was climbing to 90°, we have kids, pets, and a husband who works from home--leaving wasn't an option. Out of desperation, I called Pat directly. He answered right away, and was able to catch one of his technicians before they left for the day. They were at our house within 30 minutes! The technician was super friendly, professional, and calming, which helped so much because I was already stressing hard about potentially being without AC all weekend. He diagnosed and fixed the issue in under 30 minutes, and just like that, we had cool air again. Yes, we paid more than our $75 home warranty co-pay--but it was absolutely worth it to have the issue resolved same-day instead of waiting days or even a week for a scheduled appointment. I used Aire 1 LLC for a couple years, despite some minor frustrations I had with them throughout my…read moretime using them. I'm a heavy advocate for supporting small businesses, and will always go to a family owned biz before a chain or larger conglomerate, and signed up for their "club" after their first visit to assist me, paying a monthly fee for white glove service. That being said, I cancelled my "club membership" last year, and will absolutely never call them back for assistance moving forward. Office/Scheduling - I repeatedly had trouble scheduling maintenance with them. If someone didn't answer when I called in, and I had to leave a voicemail, I would never get a call back. I had to be strategic to try and call when I knew someone would answer in real time. There were also at least two times to note where we would schedule a service window, and the technicians would not arrive within that window. One of the times I had to call back in to ask where they were, and they called the techs to go straight to my place next to assist me. The second time the tech called me right at the end of the window to let me know "they were on the way", and I told them not to come because I had other plans I needed to get to after that window and was waiting for them to come earlier. They said they would have the office call me to reschedule, and they never did. I didn't bother calling back to reschedule either, as it was just a check up visit that was offered with the club membership. Services - Every time the technicians came by, they were always very kind and friendly. I have no grievances with the staff as individuals. I first hired them to fix a leak in my A/C vent because the water was not draining through my wall to my bathroom correctly. They installed a motorized pump to force the water over the wall because the original installers laid the inner wall piping over a support beam in the wall, and the water essentially needed to "drain uphill", which was the cause of it coming back out my vent. Shortly after that, my A/C crapped out on me entirely, and I ended up hiring Aire 1 to replace the entire unit, inside my condo and on the roof. The very same day they replaced it, I needed to call them back in a couple hours due to an error that popped up on my (new) thermostat that the unit had shut off. The motorized pump they installed has a failsafe that will automatically shut off the A/C if it's imbalanced in any way as a safety precaution, and the pump was not staying as flat as it needed to be. They re-leveled it, and assured me it would not be an issue again. I ended up having to call them back out a few more times about this issue due to waking up too many times drenched in sweat because my A/C shut off in the night. They finally mentioned they could turn that setting off, so it wouldn't shut the unit off, and that resolved that issue. Final Straw - Last year I started to experience a water leak in my front door frame. This took weeks to diagnose where the water was coming from, if it was plumbing from my unit, from the unit above mine, etc. They finally were able to track the leak down to the drainage tube from my A/C into the wall that they replaced the previous year when installing my new unit. The technician had simply cut the tube 6-10 ft in length, pushing it all the way through the PVC pipe in the wall, thinking that would be sufficient to have the water drain downwards without coming back up. They did not bother to seal the PVC pipe at the end, where the tube was inserted (picture below). They came back, with their brother (since it's a family owned biz), to fix the leak. While they were here, they verbally admitted that they screwed that up and should have sealed that correctly when installing my new unit, and that it was "their bad". Mind you, I needed to submit a home insurance claim to fix this leak in my door frame, and this involved a drying and restoration company, and Aire 1. While everything was covered, I was still responsible for paying a deductible, which I assumed could be reimbursed by the party at fault. Fast forward to now, several months later, and Aire 1 is completely denying fault, and since I have no written admittance because the technician was careful to only admit fault verbally to me in person, I have no grounds to fight their claim. Now this may seem as "retaliation" for this factor, which is a fair and partial aspect of this review, but I assure you everything I've laid out is simply clear and factual to my experience with their services, and I only leave this as a warning for what you could potentially experience working with them. I try to avoid leaving negative reviews, but the way they've been handling things so poorly after I tried giving them chance after chance (amidst all the minor scheduling frustrations as well), I cannot sit idly without sharing my overall experience with them.

While inspecting the equipment in the attic, Joe Garcia (The owner) took a lot of pictures of improperly sized and routed ductwork of both systems and gave me a very fair quote to fix everything. Initially, I just had them fix the ductwork on the unit they replaced. Yesterday I had them come back and fix the mess that the builders initial installer made of the the ductwork on the unit that hasn't been replaced yet. It is absolutely a night and day difference in amount of airflow to the two bedrooms that have ALWAYS been hot since the house was new. My previous experiences had always been positive--you can even see my previous review. They sent a technician out the same day, and he quickly diagnosed the problem as a leaking cold water inlet control valve. The part was covered under the manufacturer's warranty, but the labor was not, which I completely understood. I was told the labor would be a few hundred dollars once the warranty part arrived. The following day, I was told the part was on backorder and that the manufacturer didn't know when--or even if--it would become available. The technician explained that Trident could obtain the part from a third party and I would have to seek reimbursement from the manufacturer myself. The estimate came back at over $1,500, which immediately raised concerns. When I questioned the cost, the owner told me he had never heard of a manufacturer requiring a customer to purchase a warranty part and seek reimbursement. Instead of accepting that as my only option, I contacted the manufacturer directly. After explaining the situation, they authorized a complete tankless water heater replacement under warranty. Trident then quoted me to install the new unit, and interestingly, the installation cost was significantly less than replacing the single valve. The installation itself went smoothly. Afterward, however, the technician informed me that my existing recirculating pump was not compatible with the new heater and that I needed to purchase a new one. I was given another estimate--this time for nearly $1,700. That didn't make sense. The pump had worked perfectly with the previous version of the same heater. Both the technician and the owner told me the manufacturer said the pump was incompatible. Rather than take their word for it, I contacted both the pump manufacturer and the water heater manufacturer. Both confirmed that my existing pump is fully compatible with the new heater. I then followed the installation instructions in the manual, spent about $15 on electrical components, and connected the pump myself. It has worked flawlessly ever since. When I shared this information with the owner, including that both manufacturers confirmed compatibility, he still maintained there was no way to use my existing pump and that I needed to buy a new one. I completely understand if Trident is not comfortable performing the small amount of electrical work required, such as adding the inline fuse specified in the manufacturer's instructions. I respect that. What I don't agree with is telling a customer that perfectly compatible equipment must be replaced instead of simply explaining that this portion of the installation falls outside their scope of work. I also want to be clear that I'm not writing this review to "blame" Trident Plumbing. The owner made it very clear during our conversation that he didn't want the company held responsible. So instead of assigning blame, I'll simply present the facts and let others draw their own conclusions. Given my previous positive experiences, this outcome was both surprising and disappointing. My advice to anyone in a similar situation is simple: ask questions, contact the manufacturer directly, and verify the information yourself before approving expensive repairs or equipment replacements.
