I want to start by saying that I've had great service from Trident Plumbing in the past, which is why they were my first call when my tankless water heater started leaking. My previous experiences had always been positive--you can even see my previous review. They sent a technician out the same day, and he quickly diagnosed the problem as a leaking cold water inlet control valve. The part was covered under the manufacturer's warranty, but the labor was not, which I completely understood. I was told the labor would be a few hundred dollars once the warranty part arrived. The following day, I was told the part was on backorder and that the manufacturer didn't know when--or even if--it would become available. The technician explained that Trident could obtain the part from a third party and I would have to seek reimbursement from the manufacturer myself. The estimate came back at over $1,500, which immediately raised concerns. When I questioned the cost, the owner told me he had never heard of a manufacturer requiring a customer to purchase a warranty part and seek reimbursement. Instead of accepting that as my only option, I contacted the manufacturer directly. After explaining the situation, they authorized a complete tankless water heater replacement under warranty. Trident then quoted me to install the new unit, and interestingly, the installation cost was significantly less than replacing the single valve. The installation itself went smoothly. Afterward, however, the technician informed me that my existing recirculating pump was not compatible with the new heater and that I needed to purchase a new one. I was given another estimate--this time for nearly $1,700. That didn't make sense. The pump had worked perfectly with the previous version of the same heater. Both the technician and the owner told me the manufacturer said the pump was incompatible. Rather than take their word for it, I contacted both the pump manufacturer and the water heater manufacturer. Both confirmed that my existing pump is fully compatible with the new heater. I then followed the installation instructions in the manual, spent about $15 on electrical components, and connected the pump myself. It has worked flawlessly ever since. When I shared this information with the owner, including that both manufacturers confirmed compatibility, he still maintained there was no way to use my existing pump and that I needed to buy a new one. I completely understand if Trident is not comfortable performing the small amount of electrical work required, such as adding the inline fuse specified in the manufacturer's instructions. I respect that. What I don't agree with is telling a customer that perfectly compatible equipment must be replaced instead of simply explaining that this portion of the installation falls outside their scope of work. I also want to be clear that I'm not writing this review to "blame" Trident Plumbing. The owner made it very clear during our conversation that he didn't want the company held responsible. So instead of assigning blame, I'll simply present the facts and let others draw their own conclusions. Given my previous positive experiences, this outcome was both surprising and disappointing. My advice to anyone in a similar situation is simple: ask questions, contact the manufacturer directly, and verify the information yourself before approving expensive repairs or equipment replacements. In my case, spending a little extra time doing my own research saved me thousands of dollars. read more

We used Trident Plunming 4 years ago when we moved into our new build at Heritage Asante. They put in a Reverse Osmosis system and Water softener. We also purchased a 5 year membership for the Reverse Osmosis system. Everthing has worked well. With that ,we are moving to Sun City Grand and need a new system put in. I had a change of heart on my review as the 10% discount prior to paying was much needed with their pricing. From a 5 star to a 2 star. The plumber arrived on time and successfully cleared out the hair and debris from my bathroom drains in about 30 minutes. However, the pricing feels incredibly steep at $225 for a half-hour of simple drain cleaning with no parts replaced. Furthermore, as an older female homeowner, I was disappointed that the technician tracked small dry mud pieces/footprints onto my clean floors of my rental room that I had just paid a Professional Deep Cleaner who spent 4 hrs cleaning the day before. In the past, workers from other companies have worn protective booties. I now have to sweep & re-mop the area left by his dirty boots. Yes I noticed the dirty boots but said nothing (I shouldn't of had to anyway) but due to high stress lately as this rental room has been a nightmare from previous renter my mind was mush at this point. The work was done, but the high price tag and the mess left behind were disappointing. I'm beginning to wonder if they have 5 star google reviews because they give you 10% off if you review before you pay, so you got to say something nice. Well I wasn't leaving it at that. Our water heater stopped working and I was checking reviews online and found Trident plumbing services. I had four other options lined up, but I was very satisfied that a live person answered the phone. They were respectful and were able to schedule an appointment that worked for my time frame. The other thing I liked about Trident plumbing was they offer a veterans discount which really sealed my decision. Our service representative was Mike and he walked me through the process and gave me several options in terms of what I needed to replace. He wasn't trying to just sell me a water heater which I greatly appreciated. I did decide to replace the water heater and we were up and running in no more than three hours. Their prices are consistent with other vendors and believe me I did my research. Mike did a fantastic job of cleaning up after himself and was very personable. I highly recommend Trident plumbing. This is my first time using them, but definitely not my last. I strongly believe the service I received from both Mike and customer service was worth the value. read more

I highly recommend Trident Plumbing & Drain to my family and friends. They installed our soft water system a little over 2 years ago and it has worked flawlessly. We called again when having slow drain issues and after a bit of investigation found that tree roots at the very end of the line was causing the problem. The outside cleanout lines had been covered and thankfully CJ was able to find them and fix our drain issues. Had Trident come out to clear a shower drain that was clogged. They charged me $250, were here for 10 minutes and then 2 weeks later my drain has reclogged. I called Trident and they told me they don't warranty drain cleanings so I would have to schedule another call and pay again, which isn't going to happen. It took 2 years of living in this home for my drain to clog the first time and only 2 weeks after Trident's service for it to reclog. I've gotten more mileage out of using a bottle of Drain-O for $10 than I did with this plumbing service. ---- After posting this review this company called me up and threatened me for leaving a negative review. The lady tried to tell me that by signing their invoice I agreed to never leave them a negative review and tried to threaten legal action against me. They did offer to come back out but said THEY DIDN'T COVER OR WARRANTY DRAIN CLEANINGS AND ANY ADDITIONAL WORK WE WOULD BE CHARGED AGAIN FOR. So no, I'm not interested in paying an additional couple hundred when the first visit had such poor results.
