Beware! Appears that this "locally owned company" was purchased by a private equity group (Flint Group is the platform company with General Atlantic being the private equity firm). We ultimately paid way too much for a basic 50 gallon hot water heater swap (bundled price of almost $3000). I was out of town and my wife was busy with work when this happened. We had used Bumble Bee Plumbing in the past and trusted them. That trust has been broken and will never return. My wife left a Google review. There was a response posted as "response from the owner" which left a phone number of 602-813-0298 to call so we could speak with their "manager" to address our concerns. I tried to call that number twice...it's been disconnected! Do your research, get multiple bids and verify that the company you are calling is truly LOCALLY OWNED and has not been rolled up under some private equity structure. We have all seen countless stories about how private equity could care less about the customer and how they leave a trail of destruction and debt in the end. It's largely about profits, margins and EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization). This is the valuation metric that's referenced (with a multiple applied) when they sell. In most cases, that's ultimately ALL PRIVATE EQUITY FIRMS CARE ABOUT! It's a sad yet not surprising story on the fleecing of America! All I can say about Bumble Bee Plumbing is my experience was very different this time and it appears that since my last time using them, private equity has gotten involved. I'll let you draw your own conclusions! Would love to see a customer advocacy/awareness story on one of the local news affiliates about how private equity has consolidated so many previously locally owned trade businesses (plumbing, HVAC, electrical). I hardly ever leave reviews, but I cannot tell you how unbelievably impressed I've been with Bumble Bee every time they come to my house. Unfortunately, I've needed them a lot lately with a 30-year-old house I bought almost 6 years ago that has had a lot of old plumbing issues. These guys have been phenomenal from the service on the first phone call all the way through to the confirmation calls, to the pre-call to let me know they're arriving soon, to the service itself, the the immediate follow up to make sure everything met my satisfaction. Every single employee I've worked with has been phenomenal, and just yesterday put icing on the cake of that statement. I thought I'd leave a review finally. Cody came out and visited us first and tested our water. He also made sure the leak was fixed very professionally, and of course everything works great now. He recommended a new whole-house filtration system since ours was old and actually doing more damage than good. Jorge and Victor came out yesterday and installed that system, and as usual, they were phenomenal. Beware! On the morning of August 11, 2026, at approximately 9:00 a.m., I was traveling eastbound on Union Hills Drive after passing under the i-17 freeway overpass and proceeding toward 19th Avenue. Traffic conditions were normal, and there was a significant amount of space both behind my vehicle and between surrounding vehicles. I was traveling approximately 43 mph in a posted 40 mph zone. While driving, I observed a Bumble Bee Plumbing company truck in my rearview mirror. Initially, the vehicle was a considerable distance behind me. However, within a very short period of time, the driver rapidly closed the gap and began following extremely closely. The truck approached my vehicle at a high rate of speed and came within an unsafe distance of my rear bumper, creating a serious risk of a rear-end collision. The driver's aggressive behavior appeared deliberate, and they seemed visibly upset. The driver then abruptly changed into the lane to my left and accelerated past me. As the truck passed, it came dangerously close to my vehicle, clipping or striking my side mirror and nearly colliding with my left front bumper and front quarter panel/hood area. To avoid a more serious collision, I was forced to steer to the right within my lane. Had I not taken evasive action, the company truck would likely have struck my vehicle directly. After passing me, the driver continued to operate the vehicle in a reckless and dangerous manner. The truck repeatedly weaved in and out of traffic at a high rate of speed, creating hazardous conditions for other motorists. I personally observed the vehicle nearly collide with at least two other cars while making these aggressive lane changes. The driver ultimately proceeded through a red light before making a right turn and leaving the area. The entire incident demonstrated a blatant disregard for the safety of other drivers and the rules of the road. In my opinion, this level of reckless, aggressive, and dangerous driving is completely unacceptable, particularly for a vehicle clearly marked as belonging to a professional company. Commercial drivers represent their employers while operating company vehicles and should be expected to uphold a high standard of safety and professionalism. I've used bumble bee plumbing for the past three years. First started with my broken sewer pipe after I bought my new house, then an electrical issue and now an AC issue. Every time I have called them they have had exceptional service. This most recent time (on a holiday weekend) I called as I was having air conditioning issues. No more than 10 minutes later I got a text saying someone was on the way. The gentleman who greeted me was Jesus. He did an exceptional job and got my AC up and running in no time. Unfortunately, the "plumbing professional" who arrived felt much more like a salesperson than a technician. I was quoted over $10,000, sat through multiple upsell packages, financing pitches, and a full lesson on how water heaters work. This is my fourth replacement, so none of that was exactly new information. The entire visit ended up being a waste of my time. I paid the $65, politely declined, and moved on. Ok I have five of them in my home. Service man screwed the reducing valve to the existing union nut. And replaced the shut off valve. He had to solder the shut off valve. I supplied the reducing valve. Plumbing was exposed by my front faucet. Job took less than 2 hours. Lots of conversation. THE BILL WAS $1,544. Fair market value in Phoenix for two hours work to highly accessible plumbing is 400-500 according to Google AI. Charging $1544 is entirely unreasonable. They provide 30 in parts and charge $700 an hour. They have you sign a blank tablet. Never was the cost disclosed. I asked for the bill and was told it was emailed to me. I guess the technician wants to be gone when you see the bill. They use a flat rate menu. Changing a valve is 800. They are stacking the bill. There system double charged me for the same two hours of labor. Screw on my pressure reducing valve then solder the shut off valve above it. Do not call this company. Who makes 700 an hour. I'm going to contact the Register of Contractors for price gouging and deceptive business by signing a blank tablet. They have the scam down perfectly. The technician shut off the water to our house and left. I asked him to shut off the water to the toilet and leave it at that and I would pay the $55.00 service fee to come to my house. Then, the topper was the condescending service manager, Valentine. I was going to let this go and no even review Bumblebee. However, once Valentine called me and was very dismissive and told me not to Google the cost of services because it wasn't accurate the bad. Yeah, Valentine that's not what I did. I contacted Bumble Bee after experiencing a sewer line clog and was drawn in by their advertised $53 "guaranteed" drain clearing special, as well as promotional video referencing a $93 drain clearing that included a camera inspection. Based on those advertisements, I had a clear expectation of what the service would cost. However, during the call, I was informed there would first be a service call fee -- which was higher than the advertised drain clearing special -- and only after that would I receive an estimate to actually clear the clog. That experience did not align with how the promotion was presented and felt misleading. Because of this, I chose not to move forward. Instead, I hired another company that resolved the clog quickly, transparently, and at a very reasonable total cost. My advice to potential customers is to carefully clarify pricing details upfront and ensure the advertised specials match the actual service structure before booking... I ultimately paid Delta Mechanical $33 to have the clog cleared, no absurd service charge, no hidden fees, just honest business. Chris was our electrician and he did a great job of checking out our electrical panel. We could have just replaced the one breaker but I also knew all of our breakers were very old. He offered a refresh for a great price and to future proof ourselves we went ahead with the panel refresh. He was quick and made sure everything else looked great. I was looking for another plumbing company that could look into an issue our house has been having sporadically and based on a complimentary scoping they had offered and the technician I talked to (Colin) I felt comfortable moving forward with them on a smoke test. When I went over the issue with Colin he described in detail what they were going to do. They said they would not only cap off all the vent covers and thoroughly smoke the house to identify any potential cracks in the piping, but they'd also scope down all the vent stacks to see if there are any cracks in those or blockages based off all the things we'd already done on the house to solve this particular issue. He said the test would take quite a bit of time and they'd be thorough. My overall experience with Colin was great, he seemed like he cared and was interested in finding the root issue that's been plaguing us for years now. Five stars for him, but that's about the end of the pleasant experience I had. Then they came and did the smoke test, and it all fell apart. So basically to summarize our house is a 4,000 square foot single level home. The issue we've been having is a STRONG but intermittent sewage smell on the bathrooms on the west and east sides of the house. On a 4k sqft house, that is a large area difference. It is ONLY in the bathrooms, so as soon as you leave the bathrooms you can't smell anything. My kitchen for reference is smack dab in the middle of the house. So three new people come to the house and perform the smoke test. They cap off the vent stacks as stated and start running the smoke test. The people that were looking for the smoke spent about thirty seconds in the bathroom that was the worst offender. Maybe a couple of minutes on the other end of the house. Then he hones in on our kitchen island and says smoke is pouring in (I can't see anything, but let's take him at his word). They open the cleanout in the kitchen island and scope it. They cannot identify a crack in the piping but say that since smoke was coming out of the island that's where the crack is. They made no effort past this point to ensure there was nothing coming out elsewhere and mind you we've never smelled sewer gases in the island area, kitchen area or that area of the house. For a smoke test that is well above average pricing, I expected them to do everything that they said they were going to do and at least spend time searching more of the house than the five minutes total they spent looking for smoke. It has been a long long time since I've felt I've been ripped off by a company, but here we are. The only positive point of this interaction was with Colin and he deserves praise for that. At this point I now have to hire another company to perform a thorough smoke test. When I discussed my displeasure at the results of the smoke test I was told that I would receive a call from management. No follow up was ever done. read more

The professionalism of their staff was noteworthy and they were able to come out quickly to get the job done. I found the plumbers at Bumble Bee to be very kind and clear with their scope of work. There was a bit of a mishap during the completion of our job, but Mike worked closely with us to ensure that the issues were corrected and handled appropriately. Bumble Bee installed a new HVAC for me last month. The techs were able to get the heating running, but not the cooling. The day after the partial installation the manager called to tell me the thermostat wires had a short in them, and the cooling would not be available until the thermostat wire could be fished out and replaced. He asked for between $1800 to over $3000 to fix the wiring depending on the ease of the fix, and told me that at least I had heating for now. I read on the internet that if there were a short in the wire to the thermostat, it's best to not use the air conditioner. I therefore did not use it, and just bundled up to keep warm. I was not able to reach the manager for several weeks, and decided I should at least get another quote for the fix with the thermostat wires. The tech from Around the Sun that came told me there was no short, but the wires from above were a different color than those that came from below, and the wires just needed to be correctly connected. He fixed the problem immediately and charged me only $80 more than the usual trip charge. This was quite possibly an honest mistake by Bumble Bee, but I cannot in good conscience give them a five-star review. read more

We were having a few plumbing issues, including a kitchen sink that was almost impossible to completely shut off so I posted on yelp. Within minutes I had multiple texts and emails... and one actual phone call, from Bumblebee. Within a few hours I had Dylan P. taking care of it. I like that the business sent me his name and photo so I knew who to expect. He was amazing! He was friendly and courteous and very knowledgeable, he even put on booties over his shoes before coming inside. After tinkering with the sink he was able to remove a piece of debris that was preventing shut off and had moved on to a couple other issues I had. I was given a few options and estimates but there was no pressure to make a decision immediately. Thankfully I know that we can request the same repairman with whatever option we choose, so there's no worries about getting a different experience when (not if, when) we have him back out to do some other repairs to our 20+ year old plumbing. Pricing was very reasonable and the service was beyond reproach. We officially have a new plumbing company in Bumblebee! read more

After telling them I wasn't interested, they contacted me several time trying to get my business, saying that they would come out and not charge me for an estimate. Sounds shady to me. Why I'm giving Bumble Bee Plumbing 1 star. First, my husband called and asked for a quote on fixing a running toilet and the emergency shut off valve since it was stripped and didn't work. We were told that they have to send a tech out, they can't give quotes or fees on the phone. Don't believe it, this is where the scam begins. My husband asked for an early appt, as I don't want to be in the house with repairmen. Jordan showed up at 3pm, and within the first 10 minutes asked to see my water heater and then spent the next 3 hours trying to up sell me. He told me it was on its last legs, he made it sound like it was on the verge of breaking. There is rust on top, you could come home and all your boxes in the garage will be destroyed, you get it. A monumental disaster in the offing! I feel foolish that I let this guy scare me into letting him write up paperwork to finance the water heater and the toilet repair for $3741.75!! No monetary break down, just a lump sum. Wow! I can't believe I fell for this crap. Anyway, the financing wouldn't go through, because after 5 on a Saturday and all. He was actually going to try and do a 2 hour install Saturday night! I told him, no, just fix what I need fixing and we'll worry about the water heater next week. So in 30 minutes he fixed my toilet and the shut off valve, and I gave him my card. I was expecting at most a $300 charge, nope! These shysters charges $752 for 30 minutes of work. 3 1/2 hours of pressured sales and then a ridiculously large bill! I messaged them on their FB page, no response, sent email, no response. Not once did anyone reach out to offer a credit card receipt, or ask what they could do to make this better. Late in the day today, I called them and some man sent me an email of finance paperwork, with about 5 signatures of mine, but I never even saw the break down. They do everything on a tablet and they go screen to screen telling you where to sign. They charged $450 to fix the float thing, (I could have bought a whole new toilet at Home Depot for $150), and they charged $302.70 for the shut off valve. 30 minutes of work, $752. Quite the racket they have, and THIS is their business model. Mike K the owner always gives the same response to all bad reviews, "Thank you for your honest feedback. We are sorry to hear you did not have a better experience and will ensure that our service department receives the information you've provided." What a crock! Started out with a small leak from the street line before the Bronze Pressure Vacuum Breaker Back flow Preventer, The person suggested I replace the Black flow Preventer which I did. (It was $890 for the labor and parts) The part failed after 5 months. I was encouraged to sign up for a reduced labor charge by signing up for their package ($10 a month.) I did then cancelled a month later. When I canceled they indicated that the part would no longer be under warranty. I called to complain to Valentine (a supervisor.) I was told he would call Monday after reviewing my complaint. I got a call from someone else who wanted to know if I needed service. The Valentine never bothered to call me. I had used them before but I understand they were bought out. (I don't know if that is true.) Pretty bad service in my opinion. read more

My mother called bumblebee as she had a high water bill. She's senior and not savvy on what things might cost. She called bumblebee as she misplaced the number of the plumber she usually uses. They came out and replaced the fill valve in one of her toilets. At a cost of $350.00. A fill valve costs under $30 at big box retailers. So for 30 minutes of labor and $30 part, bumblebee fleeced an old lady. In research, top cost I saw was $250 for a similar service call and in reaching out to other plumbers, they're all well south of that. So this makes the effective rate per hour for the service as this was a 30 minute call $600 if you were to allocate $50 for a $30 part. That's the epitome of egregious and predatory. I can guarantee we won't be calling bumble bee for future services. We'll go with someone that's not out to take advantage of the elderly. read more

VERY dissatisfied with pricing, quality of work and end results for broken main water pipe (front yard near city water line) replacement & in-door hot water pipe replacement. My initial contact was very professional and provided me an overall quote (which I thought was high) to replace the pipe that took (3 hours total) and another (4) hours tops for finding the cause of hot water pipe leak. The first round of fixture to front yard, they left yard looking fairly good order. The second round to find the broken hot water line was messy. They "had" to cut (7) different places in my home to find the source of the broken line: 2 Bedrooms that back up to the restrooms, a hallway, and living room. The work DID NOT include the repair of the drywall. They taped up (5) areas but left the bedroom wall a mess. I ended up having to secure/tape off those two holes. While working in the home, I asked the plumber if he could help me replace the flapper in two of my bathrooms that kept running after flushing the toilet. He quoted me another $400! I ended up having a friend replace which took minutes to fix. When I called to ask the "manager" his reply was "we guarantee all our work and the most I can knock off to replace the flappers, would be $300. After spending $11,500 in plumbing repairs with Bumble Bee, I would never recommend them. They are too expensive and their end result is I have less pressure coming from my hot water line and (7) messy drywall holes that will cost me another $1500 to repair on my own. read more
