    Matt's Maintenance Tree Service

    Matt's Maintenance Tree Service

Matt was communicative, responsive, and straightforward throughout the process. Their availability aligned well with our timeline; which was especially important as the property was being prepared for sale. In this area, fire mitigation is a non-negotiable for safety and insurance eligibility. The crew arrived with appropriate protective and safety equipment, which immediately helped me feel confident as a homeowner. It indicated proficiency; that the work was being handled professionally and responsibly. The efficient crew completed the work exactly as quoted, including removal of large dead trees, clean-up of felled branches, and haul-off of debris. The property was left noticeably cleaner and safer afterward. I, especially, appreciated the thorough cleanup effort rather than leaving scattered slash and small branches behind. Pricing was fair, the work was efficient, and the overall experience was professional and reliable. Highly recommend. Five out of five stars.

The men that came out were very nice and responsive to what we asked for. Matt had come out in Aug 2025 to give us an estimate, and all these months later the company stayed true to that estimate. The only thing I would advise them to do better is when the estimate and the actual project are months apart, to put it on their books to call folks when it's time to schedule the project. But everything was great. They send the invoice a week later to your email and you pay it online or you can send a check. Easy. Also, I would like to mention that they were less expensive than the outfit who trimmed the tree a couple of years ago, so we were happy about that. We will definitely use them again.

They provided a competitive price (I solicited three bids), showed up as scheduled, did the work efficiently, safely and quickly and cleaned up and disposed of all trees and trimming debris. Tree removal was done in a way that did not damage a nearby fence or inconvenience my neighbor. The tree removal and trimming greatly improved the appearance and utility of my landscaping. I would recommend considering Great Western for any tree trimming/removal service.

I received a couple of different estimates for tree removal. I had read about Great Western on…read moreYelp. The reviewer mentioned tree removal as well as stump removal, so I assumed stump removal would be part of the tree removal. During the estimate, I was never asked whether I wanted the stump removed; nor was I told it wouldn't be removed. The good: The tree was cut down and removed except for the stump. There was no debris left in my yard. The job was neat. The bad: The stump wasn't removed. They arrived before the time stated on their email, which was fine, but I wasn't home. They were gone before I viewed the work. I called to find out about the stump removal, and received a written proposal for another $175. This review is just to let you know.....if it doesn't say stump removal on the proposal, you aren't getting that!

We cancelled the job in the last few days of August 2024 when they still hadn't planned a start date with us. I hired Aspenwood to tear out and replace 4300 square feet of sod. Josiah came out to quote the job and his pricing was competitive. He was also successful in convincing me to consider a new strain of rhizomatous tall fescue over blue grass, with the former being resistant to drought and requiring less water to maintain. It looks great! His crew worked extremely hard and paid attention to detail while completing the project. Aspenwood had the right equipment to do an excellent job in soil prep, which included 15 tons of soil treatment. At the completion of the project, Omar (their crew chief) was meticulous in adjusting the sprinkler heads to their original state. Aspenwood Landscape is involved in other forms of landscaping, and I will be using them again in the future.
