All Set has adapted really well to our pandemic environment. We have been getting takeout from them about twice a month since March. They have figured out how to package everything so it stays fresh, the ordering system is easy, and everyone is very pleasant (including when I had a minor hiccup with an order). The food is great. The COVID menu has most of our all-time All Set faves - Old Bay wings, Sriracha biscuits, lobster roll, chickpea fries, steak and cheese - and has also incorporated a new barbecue aspect that is quite high quality. The fact that they sell from their lovely wine list to go is another high point. We haven't dined outside recently but the patio was always pleasant pre-COVID and I expect it remains so. I am working and out of town. I looked up restaurants that were close to my hotel and was so lucky to find "All Set Restaurant and Bar" First off the vibe, ambiance is really great! I got here early and it has got busy into the dinner rush but the ambiance was great when it was quite to now with a more full house. My server Jake is the best server I've had im a long time if not the best of all time!! I bartended and waited tables in college and I always wish I would have a server that was just really good at customer Service. Well Jake is that person!! If I owned a bar or restaurant I would definitely want him as an employee. He knows how to make the customer feel welcomed and have give the very best dinning experience. All his food suggestions were wonderful. He was on point! I really appreciate his great customer service as I am in sales as well. He was also training someone and didn't make it awkward like a lot of servers when they try to serve and explain to the person they train at the same time. He was pleasant, funny and kind. I will definitely be back the next time I am in this area. ( I did not take pictures of the food bc I ate too quick). Ambiance was nice. Our server was helpful and pleasant. The hostess went out of her way to get us hot sauce. The food was quick and fresh. The fish taco was plain, but I requested to not have the coleslaw because it was somewhat spicy. I asked for tomatoes to try and give it some extra flavor since it had just green lettuce mix on top. I was aware I'd be charged $1.00 extra, not a big deal but would of been courteous to advise me when I was ordering. Not bad I had a glass of pinot for $7.00 a glass. I came here last night for the first time. The atmosphere is really nice and the service was good as well. The food was tasty and maybe I'd come back if someone else wanted to come. I think the food is a bit pricey and the portions are small but I guess that's me liking to get bang for my buck. We went during happy hour. I got the pretty in pink, one fish taco and the crab Mac and cheese. I wasn't a huge fan of the crab Mac and cheese. It had a sriracha bread crumb on top, I'm not into the sriracha craze. The fish taco was very good! For dinner we ordered the shrimp and polenta and the crab cake. The polenta was fried into a patty, which I wasn't expecting but it had a soft texture inside. The crab cake was good too but I didn't like the oily pepper and fingerling potato slaw it was sitting on top of. Lastly, we ordered the chocolate chip cookies for dessert. We went for New Year's Eve last night and got the pre-fix and it was absolutely the worse food ever experienced. My friend loves this restaurant and that's why she wanted to go. Me not so much in love but I do like it so went along. The food ruined the entire evening . I wanted to complain but she told me not to. We both adored the server who was just so sweet and friendly. I decided to call to complain and ask for a partial refund since I paid for nearly 80% of the bar drinks and food, and then the meal. No one answered at 3:30 pm which as far as I read, they are open. We do not eat any pork product do we started with the tempura seafood. All so fried tasting and some sauce that did nothing to help the fried tasteless mass of things some of which we didn't know what it was. The entree some kind of risotto was horrible !! I had to send it back, we shared a bowl of mussels that was not like the usual one we have. It had much more spiciness in the little bit of sauce they gave. Then to top it off, the desert was horrible. It was a sour type of fruit, may be cranberry scone pieces and pistachio ice cream and it was just the worst desert probably ever created! We could barely eat 1/4 of it as it was just so terrible! I'd like a refund for most of this meal and I'd like the owner or manager to seriously taste this meal as they should be totally ashamed to have served what we felt, was an edible meal not even should be called food! My friend and I stopped by here recently on a Saturday afternoon/evening before a concert and had a fantastic time. Make sure you start off your experience by checking in here and redeeming their offer for free chick pea fries- they're delicious. Happy hour deals on a Saturday? Yup. Friendly staff who are attentive and funny? Indeed. We ordered a sangria and pink lady drink each and enjoyed them. I had the black bean burger which tasted amazing but did not hold together at all, probably because it's vegan, but it was fine to eat with a fork. And it came with more of their delicious homemade fries. My friend had the crab mac and cheese and enjoyed it. It was a smaller size but perfect for her. The bathroom is two stalls and has a wall (yes a wall) of toilet paper from floor to ceiling. Kind of weird but kind of awesome. Jake at the bar is awesome, and even went a step above and beyond and found us some umbrellas from the lost and found because we told him we had to wait in a line in the sudden thunderstorm outside. This was my first experience at All Set and I had a pretty good time. The Set Up: it has a semi-nautical theme with indoor and outdoor seating as well as a secluded room for large parties. There are a handful of oversized booths, but most of the seating is at small tables. The onlg thing I didn't care for was the cheesecake factory style seating. I hate being 6 inches away from the next guests. There's just no privacy. Also, I like to spread out at the table and these tables are too small for the big and tall crowd (I'm not big, but I am tall, as was my father who is 6'8). The Food: I like the small menu. It's about one page in length, but holds some pretty yummy food. The chickpea fries are amazing. Crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. My dad ordered the crabcakes which were served piping hot and on a bed of mixed vegetables. I had the lobster roll which was pretty good. It could have used a smidge more mayo and a lemon squeeze for my taste, but I'm sure most people enjoy it as is. The Server: our server was Jake and he was amazing. So the food and service here is pretty good. I made reservations through yelp the same day. I loved the fish bowl drink and the crab Mac and cheese through small was very good. I didn't care for the chicken wings as they lacked flavor. I loved my brisket and my blue cheese mashed potatoes. I was stuffed after finishing my drink that I took a majority of my food to go. The premium liquor prices were reasonably priced as well. I would come back here again. Just know that parking can be limited and you must pay to park inside the nearest garage until 9pm. Ugh, I hate it when a restaurant uses the microwave to heat the food before serving it. When you burn your mouth on the mashed potatoes you know the only way it can be that hot is if they nuked it beforehand. I was so excited to eat these ribs, but they were way too dry and WAY TOO HOT. I literally had to wait another 5 min to eat anything on the plate it was all too hot. We live across the street and this was the first time going. Prob going to be the last UPDATE: according to mgmt there are no microwaves, just hot pans. What about heat warmers? Might want too turn them down a bit, you're just asking for a lawsuit. As far as addressing our concerns with mgmt directly, there's nothing you could have corrected. Especially considering mgmt states you just cook your food REALLY HOT. What are you going to do, take the food back and put it in the freezer for a bit? If that's the way you cook your food then you'll never fix your problem. Which means even a free gift certificate would have been worthless to me. Based on their response, my 2 stars goes to 1 now and I most definitely won't be coming back. They made sure to thoroughly wipe down the table and seats before seating us, and there is a great COVID-precautions section on the paper menu's we were given. 20% service fee is included in all checks, and we were informed there was no need to include additional gratuity because of this. You really will be "all set" when you visit this restaurant. I loved everything about it, from the uniquely nautical yet clean and modern design, to the great service and, of course, the delicious food. I came in through the back and went to the host, who promptly seated me with a menu. My server dropped by just a few minutes later, and I was pleased with the level of service he offered: friendly, but mild-mannered and non-intrusive. I started with The Provincetown, a VERY pink cocktail with gorgeous flavors of cranberry and cucumber. For my late lunch, I ordered the crab cake entree and was NOT disappointed. Two generous patties of tender, flaky crab, dotted with white onion and perfectly seared, rested upon a bed of sliced potatoes, red and green bell pepper, and fresh corn. The portion size was just right; not too big, not too small. Consequently, my server EASILY talked me into dessert and coffee. I got the Challah Bread Pudding, flavored with vanilla and caramel, which was beautifully golden on the outside and warm and gooey on the inside. Unique and satisfying. My fiancée and I met with her Dad and Step-mother here for brunch; It was an overall fair experience. The is some construction work getting outside the restaurant so it maybe a little bit of a hassle entering All Set, but once you're inside the atmosphere is calm. The drink I started with was the Freedom & Unity, which is basically Woodchuck Cider and shot glass of Cinnamon Rye, which you mix into your own glass. It was a decent mix, to much cinnamon may ruin the drink but overall fair. The appetizer we had were the Chickpea Fries and Fried Calamari. The fries and calamari were delicious. I decided to go for the lobster roll, which was okay. The lobster itself could use more seasoning but it as decent, I've had better lobster rolls in NY. My fiancée had the crab cake special. I sampled a taste of her crab cake and that was absolutely delicious but then again Maryland is known for delicious crab. I would go back again just for the crab cake, everything else was acceptable, but nothing to rave about. read more

I have now been to All Set ( 5 different occasions) its a cute almost hidden spot in silver spring. I order the shrimp and Cesar salad. The salad is pretty fresh, interesting take on it ( no croutons but fried chicken skin) The shrimp is on point, but definitely a small portion. Service also always great too. read more

Went to All Set the other night for drinks and apps. It was jumping in there. Really lively atmosphere inside and out. We opted to sit inside although while the weather is nice, I'd certainly snag a seat on their lighted patio, which almost feels like your dining dockside with the heavy ropes wrapped in white lighting. We ordered our cocktails & both went for The Perfect Storm, a medley of rum, pineapple, lime, ginger and ginger beer. A fruity and flavorful take on a Moscow Mule. What to eat? The chickpea fries, which were chickpeas, zucchini, roasted garlic and an cream Avocado Ranch dipping sauce with cilantro. OMG! Those fries were delicious! So crunchy and crispy and perfectly tasty. They were so good that they've crossed my mind more than once since I ate them and I want them again!! We ordered the Old Bay seasoned fried chicken wings, which were also crispy and juicy with that Maryland seafood spice that we all love so much. Definitely a thumbs up on that choice! Next we ordered the crab Mac and cheese, which was a buttery and rich combo of a Maryland staple and classic comfort food. Divine! Since we were sharing apps, we selected a fourth item, an arugula salad with fried corn and nuts and a champagne lemon vinaigrette. A hearty salad with a nice flavor. Even though we were stuffed, we thought that at least looking at the dessert menu couldn't hurt. Yeah right! One look and the salted caramel ice cream, chocolate chip cookie sandwiches somehow arrived on a plate moments later basking in a salted caramel sauce. Oh did I forget to mention that the chocolate chip cookies were right out of the oven? Ummm yeah, within minutes these heavenly ice cream cookie sandwiches were a sweet memory after being devoured. All Set has a good vibe with it's nautical-inspired chic decor, great music and even better food and drinks. It made for a perfect night. The chickpea fries were perfectly fried and came with an awesome sauce to dip them in. The hummus was a great consistency, the only thing I would have added was more pita because that ratio was slightly off. The sriracha cheddar biscuits had an awesome amount of heat ratio, they were just slightly dry. For an entree I got the fried fish sandwich that was very tasty, but slightly a little overpowering in the butter flavor and some of the fries were slightly soggy. Overall it was a great dish. My girlfriend ordered the chicken and biscuits. The home fries were crispy yet tender so points on that. The chicken to biscuit ratio was slightly off, but the maple sausage gravy was surprisingly different and delicious. Service: (4/5) As a party of four and a baby we were promptly seated. We waited a little bit of a longer time until our server arrived, but once that began we were off to a good start. My friend was holding his baby and the waitress noticed he wasn't able to eat until his wife finished eating so they could switch holding him. She immediately offered to watch him, which I thought was a step above. The check took a little while to arrive after we finished which is why I'm knocking off a star. Experience: (4/5) Overall a great experience, the decor was very upscale on the interior. They didn't make it seem like a hassle that a baby was part of our party. I have been here several times over the last few years but saw the menu changed a bit so I wanted to try it out again. For starters the service was amazing. We had a guy who looked to be in his 20s who was very attentive to alll the tables, quick response, all around great! Shoutout to you sir! Next up: the food. For the most part everything was delicious! We started off with the cornbread which was so good I couldn't get a pic. I got the fried chicken dinner. The fried chicken unfortunately was not great, Ive had much better, but the mac and cheese, and collard greens? Good good stuff. It came with a jalapeño cheddar biscuit as well and it was soooo goood! I wish I had more! I also got a side of barbecue beans and they were phenomenal! My friend got the seafood pasta and she loved it. My other friend ordered the rib eye with a side of mac and cheese and asparagus and she concurred that the mac and cheese was so great. Great date spot. Very eclectic menu. I have been here multiple times, and I have tried a lot of the different offerings and always been very happy with whatever I order.
