Just had to come rave about my cheeseburger and tater tots! I've driven past this place a million times and finally gave it a try. Service was great and my burger was delicious! It was pretty crowded but the service was still on point! The bartender was great and he wasn't shy with his pours so that made me happy lol Excited I finally tried this place because I'll be back, this is my type of vibe. I also love the jukebox!

We came to sit at the bar for brunch and to watch football. The staff was very friendly. They made sure everyone was able to see the teams they came to watch since there were 4 games on at once. The service was quick. The food was surprisingly good. I'm very picky about my steak and actually ended up ordering a second one. The mimosas were reasonably priced. You can tell this is a place that the locals frequent. I'll be back when I'm in town.

Introduction/August 2023 visit: Been here 3 times and every time, I've been impressed. My friend lives close to here and invited me to BINGO night on Wednesday nights. He had been inviting me for months prior to this, but I don't live that close to Kensington. I genuinely wanted to try this BINGO night at some point and finally obliged on August 30, 2023. Unfortunately, I didn't win, but I did enjoy a great Philly Cheesesteak per my friend's recommendation with also delicious fries. Server was nice & attentive. October 2023 visit: Since I enjoyed BINGO & the atmosphere as well as my friend's company on August 30, I visited again 5 weeks later for BINGO again on Wednesday, October 4 as I had a hike Meetup in the Kemp Mill area. Incidentally, the hike was more than I bargained for, which I didn't mind as I needed the exercise, but still had a long walk back to my car, so I texted my friend saying I'd be getting there maybe a bit after the BINGO start and to grab me BINGO sheets. Once again great service, and the burger was great too. And further, I won BINGO and got some gift cards for a future visit. Between October 2023 & February 2025: Incidentally, there was discussion of me coming back to use my gift cards. Then, in February 2024, my girlfriend & I got together. Throughout the Spring & beyond, I said one of these Wednesdays we can go over Kensington, meet my friend, & use my gift cards. She finally met my friend on a Saturday in January 2025 for an advanced movie screening we went to. Two Saturdays later on February 8, 2025 I had my birthday party. Originally, my birthday party was going to be in Columbia, roughly half the distance than to Kensington. But I found out about another birthday party at another friend's house, which lives about 6 minutes away. So, around January 26 I decided to move my birthday party from Columbia to BabyKat Brewing in Kensington to accommodate for people going to my friend's party later on since I figured some won't go to Columbia & then to go to the Wheaton area for my friend's after and just do my friend's party. My friend who arrived at BabyKat early said it was packed inside there. I didn't think it would be that hectic at 3 PM. BabyKat has a nice outdoor area, but we couldn't help it was very cold, around 33 F with some mix of rain & freezing rain at times or at least cloudy with some wind. I told him we will be there in 10 minutes to assess the situation ourselves. We knew we had to pivot as we weren't going to want to be out in the cold. My friend suggested Stella, which would've been my backup option. February 8, 2025 visit: My friend called Stella and said if there was room for all of us, which they should would work. Stella was very accommodating for my birthday party saying they'd make it work, and they had a long table for us. Although this is what I envisioned for my birthday. I had imagined people would stand around and separate tables where people could mingle, but it was fine. A lot of the folks ate shortly after getting there. I had 2 whiskeys; they have a good variety of drinks, including about 6 different whiskeys. We ate in the 5 PM hour. I get the Philly cheesesteak & g/f got the burger. We both very much enjoyed our food. The staff was very nice and accommodating getting food/drinks to all of us at the various times we put in orders. Unfortunately, I didn't have the gift cards on me as I hadn't planned on Stella, more of an unlikely plan B scenario. I told my g/f (like in Spring 2024), we need to go back in Spring 2025 for BINGO one of these Wednesdays to use my gift cards when my regular friend is there. I look forward to more visits in the future and now more motivated to go after my successful birthday party here.

My appointment across the street finished early, so based on Yelp reviews, I gave it a try. The oddly shaped space is due to the location in the V created by the split between Connecticut Avenue and University Boulevard. That's being worked on, construction going on out back. If I recall, there was once a pretty good Chinese restaurant there. I ordered a burger, and it was very good. Some places will throw any substance that can legally be called ground beef on the griddle, but breed of cattle and ratio of cuts matters a lot. Cooked perfectly, a little char outside, tender inside. Btw, build your own choice of toppings. Tots were also legit - no seasoning required. And yes, they're an optional accompaniment, as well as fries or slaw. The atmosphere is unapologetically sports/dive bar, and I'm sure they'd roll their eyes if you called in a gastropub. Service is on point. When I had to make it to-go because my Uber driver texted he was early, no problem. I never expected a grab and go to be this good. Five stars are not something I give easily, but they nailed everything. I was delighted, and plan to return.

I've never had a bad meal here. Delicious and reasonably priced food. It's a very well run restaurant with amazing staff. Shout out to Alex who makes the best cosmos in the DC area!

Classic bar vibe, great to celebrate, watch football, or chill with your friends. I liked their bar food! Service was super friendly, quick, and attentive which I loved! Sometimes bar service isn't quick and friendly but here it definitely is! Parking lot is small but free. Loved their homemade fries snd burger was delish!

I've had BLTs around the country and this establishment has the best I have ever tasted! Kathy found her cheeseburger to be tasty, moist and flavorful as well. The onion rings were the thicker version which is not my favorite, however, they were some of the best around. The BLT was absolute perfection!

It's an absolute shame how late I was discovering Quincy's South... as in, I went for the first time towards the latter half of last year. I knew there were other locations, but from where I am they would take an extra 15+ minutes to get to. So when QS closed down, I was pretty sad. But now, out of nowhere, enter Stella Point! Ownership from Quincy's exists here, and it's in Kensington, a more accessible town for me! Literally within hours of hearing about it, I pulled up at night... the bar is nowhere as big as Quincy's South's, though I hear there are plans to change that. Most of the tables in my line of view were full, and I grabbed the last seat at the bar. I was observing a lot of the conversations going on, and I saw how excited the staff were and the happy conversations they were having with the patrons. Only being the second day of opening, it's obvious that the already existing Quincy's family made their way to this new location and the positive vibes are all around. If that continues, this place will do just as well as the rest. I had already eaten, but I did want to grab a drink, so I got a Gin Club... $7! Off of happy hour, I'm fully content with that -- it was good too! :) So I don't know when happy hour or any of the other events I remember are coming... I do know Trivia Tuesdays are locked in starting August 1, so that's something to look forward to! I look forward to trying the food in the near future too, though from what I could overhear, it's as good, if not better, than Quincy's. Oh, parking at Quincy's South could be a little tricky... there is a dedicated parking lot for Stella Point, but it isn't that big. I didn't pay attention to everything since it was nighttime, but at least I don't think there's a time limit here. :)

ate the italian wedding soup (soup of the day) very quickly it was yum and wanted to eat more but it was already gone

I would have loved to be seated next the the staircase because it has some nice sight lines. The restaurant is so clean and nicely decorated as if you stepped into a homey yet lux cabin restaurant. It just feels....comforting. There were a lot of people dining here but the noise level was surprisingly minimal. The service is impeccable. Every waiter was attentive. Someone even asked us if we wanted another drink when our glasses were full. Never in my life has that happen to me. Lol The server was very knowledgeable about everything and left me to decided between all the wonderful options they offer. And they have OPTIONS. I heard the steak is banging. I'll be back... Now let's talk about these Ozzie dinner rolls. Bomb! End of story. And in my Nike voice....Just do it. In other words stuff your face and get some to go. I got blessed with 2 baskests and a bag to go. Won't he do it. My son enjoyed his little Mac aka his burger and fries but was too full to finish the fries because he stuff his face with Ozzie dinner rolls. So be careful yall. You have been warned. I orderer the pecan trout which was a very interesting take on baked fish and yet it was still good. I'm not raving about it. But it was good. Nice thing is they give you to pieces of trout 1 for now and 1 for later because yes I stuffed my face with those darn Ozzie rolls. Smh I had my eyes set on that deep dish apple pie and I shall return to try it and other menu items..like that banging steak. My leftovers hit the spot. I had enough for a whole lunch the next day. Saved me extra resources. Everything tasted even better the next day. Like the seasoning settled in and exploded into deliciousness. Peoples I say this with love...Don't come here because I don't want yall taking up all the free parking spaces available. Lol this is my new go to spot.

Made a reservation not like you really need one, but we made one and was seated down pretty quickly. The host was nice and friendly and the wait staff said hello to us within the five minutes of us seating. I appreciated how family-friendly this place was, they give these cute little animal boxes with different things inside and crayons to keep the kids entertained. The decoration is fun with a lot of outdoor vibes and stuffed real animals. They bring out a side of chip and a yogurt dill dip that's interesting, a fun idea. The food, mhm so we ordered a lot! Crab dip: 2.5/5 not too bad but not memorable, okay amount of crab, flavors were too heavy on the cream cheese/fillers but just okay, they need more bread with it but the chips helped. Prob wouldn't order again Crab cake: 3.8/5 pretty good size and good amount of crab and good flavor probably the best dish that we had ordered here! Would get again. Burger: 3/5 granted I did order this medium well for my kid, but the burger was charred a little too much around the burger, giving it a sort of dry crunch on the edges and charcoal burn vibes. Not my favorite texture that I would want on a burger, but perhaps it would've been different if I ordered a medium? Bread itself was a little stale/crunchy which I did not prefer how it was cooked/prepared. Overall, it was just okay. Ribs: 2.5/5 the ribs were half off ribs so I decided to go for it because of the good deal. But it was just okay, being that Blackhog barbecue is right next-door (thier dry rub ribs are amazing), I would hope that they would step up their barbecue rib game. For a " full rack" there were only nine bones and seemed a little smaller than what I'm used to. It's very heavy on the sauce which I didn't think was the best pairing and wasn't the best flavor bbq sauce. Overall, I wouldn't order it again. Steak kabob: 3.2/5 this was actually pretty tender for the cut of meat, I'm surprised that I didn't have to work for it so I was happy about that! The only criticism that we have is that the meat itself did not have that much flavor or seasoning and there's only one skewer of meat and one skewer of veggies. Meaning the total amount of meat that was probably on that dish was no more than 4 -5 ounces of steak. And for that price point, I would want a little bit more meat. Mac and Cheese: 3.5/5 pretty good for a kids Mac! Good cheese and flavor was impressed! Overall, the service and the host in the experience of being there was pretty good, but the food was a little lacking not sure if I would go again, but it was on our right experience in terms of food

We arrived around 6pm for dinner & drinks and there was only one other patron when we arrived, but since the place is open til 2 am I suspect it starts hopping later on. There were a few tables of guests by the time we left. They have a bunch of pool tables so will need to come to play pool sometime. Last night we just ate and drank. We started with a couple of strawberry margaritas, they were quite nice. Good level of sweet for me (I like em sweet!) and I was a little tipsy but not drunk after one. We ordered the garnachas and the arroz con mariscos to share for our meal. Everything was good but my favorite was the garnachas; stewed beef on a thick corn tortilla with a sprinkling of queso blanco, salsa and some cabbage garnish to put on top. Very flavorful, not at all spicy, and a nice alternative to nachos. The beef was similar to what you'd get in a birria taco but without the consomme on the side. The arroz con mariscos was also very good and was a huge portion; despite us sharing it we had over half of it left so will be enjoying it again tonight. The rice itself has good flavor and the seafood was cooked properly, not overcooked. There were some mussels, a lot of shrimp, some squid I think, honestly I can't remember exactly... I blame the margarita. I would have liked to have a drink menu as I think there was a little bit of language barrier with our server. We kind of understood each other, but not fully and I don't think she understood when I asked if there was a cocktail menu which is why I just asked directly about margaritas, to which I was informed there were lemon and strawberry. They do have a full bar and can probably make a huge variety of drinks, if you speak Spanish you might have more luck. There were a lot of other items on the menu that sounded good, so we'll likely be back. Honestly my only quibble is there was an automatic 15% service charge, it wasn't clear if that is a gratuity or one of those new extra service fees that some restaurants add. I didn't see any mention on the menu (which I didn't have in hand by the time the bill came to confirm one way or the other) and honestly I didn't have a lot of confidence in being able to ask the server whether that charge is for gratuity or not with our language incompatibility, so we added extra gratuity just to make sure since we normally tip 20% anyway. I don't want to stiff the staff, but I would also like to be informed up front if there is a service charge or automatic gratuity. I'm dinging a star just for that bit of ambiguity.
