We just bought a house with a home theater system included and had NO clue how to work anything or how anything is connected or what controls what. My husband had set up an appointment for someone to take a look at it. We had an appointment from 1-1:30. Mike, had texted me an ETA (estimated time of arrival) before arriving which was great and not expected. Mike was able to figure everything out, fix up our systems, show me how to work everything, he even moved and set up all our cable box, and internet modem. We also had him mount our TV above the fireplace too. Between the wires and the boxes, it was a mess and super unorganized before Mike arrived, but 2 hours later he made it all "pretty" looking. 09/22/2015 UPDATE: Mike messaged me the day before to confirm the appointment. He showed up at the time scheduled and went right to work. He completed the two TV installs in about 2 hours. Overall I'm happy with the quality of work and level of service. Based on that, I have updated my review to 5 stars. 08/26/2015 UPDATE: Mike got back to me explaining the extenuating circumstances of why he was not able to respond to my inquiries. I have went ahead and scheduled an install for two flat panel TVs with him. This is scheduled 3.5 weeks from now. I still trust the Talk Irvine forum's recommendation of his company and based on the pictures and yelp reviews, feels that he will do a professional job. Also, out of 3 estimates I have received so far, his is the most reasonable. I'll further update this review after the installation. 08/25/2015: Business must be too good to return phone calls/emails. All Star Home Theater was recommended on a thread from the Talk Irvine forums. I called called the number listed on their website on Friday, 8/21 at 3pm and left a message to request an estimate for 2 flat panel installs. No return call. Emailed on Saturday, received a generic response (auto-generated?) without any price estimates. I emailed back within 30 minutes asking if he forgot to send an attachment. No further response. iMessaged his phone, no response. iMessaged his phone again Monday. No response. After shopping around a bit I realized that All Star Home Theater was very competitive; and with the high marks on yelp I couldn't go wrong. Mike sent Alex to mount our TV. What I thought was a simple job turned into quite a labor intensive process due to much bigger than expected column studs around our fireplace. Alex being the professional he is, didn't even sweat it; he knew exactly what he was doing- I am sure he has done this thousands of times. After a few charged drill power packs and longer drill bits, we had success! Alex patched and textured the small holes and our family room looks amazing now with the TV. Mike and his assistant installed out 70" on our brick fireplace wall. We had a bit of a tricky situation because we wanted the electrical and coax pulled from the attic through the brick to minimize the viewable cords. We had a bit of a snafu on scheduling at first, but Mike made up for it and the work is absolutely exemplary. The electrical and cable working they did is fantastic. They worked quickly and cleanly. When I moved into my house the previous owners had all of the AV equipment in the closet and they ran speaker wire and component cables through the ceiling and walls, it was a huge pain and I was dreading trying to find someone to fix it for a fair price. After a couple years, I finally decided to look for somebody to just do it, I checked yelp and was surprised to find All Star Home Theater, I read each and every review and was blown away that they were all so good. I decided to have them come give me an estimate to re-run the speaker wire and also run ethernet cables downstairs and to my master bedroom. Mike came by around 5:30PM on a week night, which I appreciated because I couldn't meet him during the day. I was impressed by the estimate because the price seemed fair and reasonable. I ended up asking Mike to give me an option for a new receiver and subwoofer and this is where he really sold me, the prices he quoted me were the same as the online prices! I scheduled the work for a Saturday, which worked well for me since I work all week. Mike and Alex were very professional and they were careful to minimize any drywall damage. Overall, All Star Home Theater has really fair prices, does professional work, they're easy to communicate with and I'll use him again anytime that I need this type of work done! I can't say enough good things about All Star Home Theater, and especially about Mike, the owner. My wife and I had just moved into a brand new townhouse in Costa Mesa, and I had Mike do a pretty elaborate install that included surround sound in the living room, a built-in ceiling speakers in four rooms, a Sonos music system throughout the house and hanging 7 TVs (three in the living room alone). The job he and his partner did couldn't have been more outstanding, even though it required several visits to complete the project. Mike even worked seamlessly with a DIRECTV rep to ensure both their installations worked compatibly. In addition, despite the fact the project included cutting holes in several walls and ceilings, the damage that was done was minimal and relatively easy for our drywall guys to patch. All though the process, Mike and his partner were both incredibly friendly and professional, making suggestions throughout regarding what would work best for our home. We found Mike on Yelp and based on his Yelp reviews felt he was a good choice for our needs. He installed our 65" TV above our outdoor fireplace and wired the speakers to the backyard. The first remote didnt operate as good as Mike thought it should and he upgraded the remote to one that did everything that I had wanted it to do. I called several places before deciding to go with Mike. I'm so glad we chose him. I called late on a Friday evening. We were able to schedule for a Monday morning install. We had a total of 5 tvs that needed to be mounted. One over a fireplace. Being that we had just finished remodeling our newly purchased home, Mike was VERY cautious in planning how to install a TV over our fireplace without causing any damage and with no wires showing. After prepping the mount we discovered that two tvs that were still in a box were damaged and had to be returned. He finished mounting all of the tvs and kindly came back and mounted the two tvs that were damaged. I called about a dozen different home theater installers from Yelp and All Star seemed to be the most knowledgeable. The day after I got the keys to my brand new house in Irvine, I had Mike & Alex of All Star Home Theater install six in-ceiling speakers and mount two bookshelf speakers on side walls for a Dolby Atmos 7.1.4 surround sound system. Could not be happier with the work they did! They are really professional and pay attention to the smallest of details. I was very particular with the placement of my speakers and they even moved an Air Conditioning vent about 2 inches to accomodate one of the in-ceiling speakers. Not only that but they also did a great drywall patch up and texture of all walls and the ceiling. Usually home theater installers don't do very good patch up, if they do it at all. They also installed an HDTV antenna in my attic. I will definitely use them again soon to mount a large screen TV. Prices are very reasonable too. read more

I emailed asking for an estimate. No answer. I followed up again, no answer. Third time I got an "Im sorry" and I'm available next Monday or Tuesday. I emailed back saying Tuesday works for me. I called on Monday to confirm for Tuesday - no answer and no reply to email. I emailed on Wednesday saying I was done with his company. I got an "I'm sorry but holiday and some family issues slowed me down. I'm available next week". Guess what?, no call no show. I sent an email saying his customer service sucks and must not want my business. No answer.
