I had a very disappointing experience with Will. He comes across as rude and seems focused primarily on wealthy, white-collar clients in Orange County. It felt like his approach was geared toward upselling high-end products, possibly with incentives or kickbacks, rather than genuinely prioritizing customer needs. Communication was extremely frustrating. I had to reach out around 20 times before finally getting a response, which is unacceptable for any professional service. He also advertises a "lifetime warranty" on certain products, but the follow-through is severely lacking. Getting support or replacements for faulty equipment has been incredibly difficult--honestly, it felt more frustrating than waiting in line at the DMV. Wil Vitela is a lying thief, give him money at your own risk. I've previously used Wil twice and both times given him money up front for TV/Stereo/Misc. equipment projects (with the first job exceeding $5,000). So, I didn't think anything of it when I went to use Wil again for a job of approx. $7,000 of value. Well, this time Wil delivered the stereo equipment within a couple of weeks then mysteriously went silent on the +$4,000 for the 85" Samsung Frame TV and other misc. items that were never delivered. Wil would not reply for a couple of weeks then have excuses about being out of town (probably with the $4,000 he stole from my family) or that he would stop by later in the week - and of course ghost those appointments as well. He will not return text messages, voice mails, or website messages. Wil even went as far as blocking my ip address from his website to schedule appointments or send him messages asking for repayment. He actually blocked me from his website for having the nerve to ask for the $4,000 he stole from my family. The "Home Tech Expert" in action using technology to run and hide from being a dirty rotten thief. I can't wait to see the lies in his response. Something similar to his other bad reviews (with a couple other people who say he has stolen thousands of dollars from them - which I certainly believe) where he says he has been in business since 1992 blah blah blah and look at all his 5-star reviews. Wil has turned into a THIEF. Im so embarassed to have recommended him within my community and to many friends. He is very popular on the Placenita buzz and Yorba Linda buzz. I have hired Wil over 5 times - ring cameras, wifi upgrades, 7 apple TV's, 2 84 inch TVs and hanging TV's that I purchased etc. He was always very hard to schedule with but his work was professional, he knew his stuff and clean. He always required a upfront payment for equipment since he is small business (1 man shop), so I thought nothing about sending him money in advance for the purchase of my 3rd 84 inch tv and Sonos sound bar from him. Well this time he has taken my 4k and ghosted me. He has also blocked me from all his social media so I cannot make negative comments. He promotes himself on his website to be in relationships with all the Chamber of Commerce for Brea, Placentia and Yorba Linda but after a few phone calls with each of these cities - I found out he is no longer supported due to problems reported such as mine. I never came on to read the other negative yelp reviews since I had used him almost yearly since 2022, so I was shocked to see that he has done this to other people!!! I dont know why he became a theif but it is a trend. Do not support this business and no wonder why he stopped used Venmo and now uses zelle, because you cannot file a claim to get your money back. Just came across the owner's response to my message and he's a filthy liar. Came to my house and disconnected everything, saying he would be back the next day with the equipment/ supplies he needed. The rush on my end was because my son was coming home from six months in the hospital for a bone marrows transplant and I wanted to make sure we had good internet for his PS5. My wifi mesh network was obsolete, I had the original Google WiFi from many years ago. It was prime day and I was seeing all these deals for new systems so I got on YouTube to see some reviews and I came across some Home Tech Expert videos, very knowledgeable and for some reason I trusted what he was saying, it is weird it felt comfortable. I saw that he was local in the next city over actually but he only serviced Orange County but I decided to take a chance and contacted him, even though he said he only does Orange County he took a chance and came out for an estimate. Came on a Sunday, I explained to him my situation and what I wanted and he knew exactly how to do it. Got me the estimate that Thursday and came back out the following Sunday and did the job. I had my wireless setup moved upstairs to a closet, switched out my old Google wifi mesh with the new eero pro 7, he hardwired an access point downstairs and he put another access point in my attic to feed my security camera systems. My speed and coverage are now amazing. If I did not already have a camera systems I would have had him set me up with a Ring system, he is very on point with that brand of that is what you are looking for. Came by spent over an hour walking through the house to go over job. Appeared to be a big job, and he seemed very interested but never sent a quote. Then called to follow up told us he would send one, and once again no call back. We were doing multiple tv mounts, internet boosting, cameras in house, and a few other things. I figured this would be a desirable job but never sent any quote or anything else. I would suggest going elsewhere unless you have an hour of your day with your 2 kids to walk around your house and talk about work he isn't going to do. If that's what your looking for then this is your guy! The issue then becomes just the ability to send a quote, that would have allowed us to be flexible in our timeline. As we explained there's a month before we move in so time flexibility is fine, but if your not even able to send a payment quote maybe it's time to hire an admin employee to do just the basics of the job. Sending that over would have given you plenty of time for us to be flexible, but no call no quote no email, nothing that progresses the job forward is not someone we want to work with. We were moving from Anaheim Hills to Yorba Linda and had heard the cell reception / WiFi connection was horrible - and we were correct. Home technology expert was rated high - (always makes me skeptical when I see a ton of 5 star reviews) ... so we had Will out to fill us in on the latest and greatest. We ended up hard wiring everything. We have six kids - 3 boys and the internet connection is crazy good. Makes it great for gaming and all their friends prefer our house to most - In addition my husband is quite happy with the internet connections and it's been seamless. I can't recommend Will and his entire staff enough / 5 star rating for sure. We do call him from time to time to add things - We now have all apple TVs, Sonos sound bars and don't pay the outrageous direct tv fees we paid before. We have "app tv". It went perfect but what caught my ear was his knowledge and what more he could do for my home entertainment. So when I moved, he was the first and only person I called. I had 4 rooms that needed TVs and I had decided that I wanted to cut the cord from Directv. I made an appointment on his very easy to maneuver website and he called me later that day and let me know that he had an earlier time if I was interested. Wil came out and went to work just as the professional he is. Being very green at the way of the future and streaming TV, I was very nervous about not having a cable/directv box. Wil walked me through it slowly that even I could understand. He explained the different sizes of Tvs, AppleTV and how they would work in each room. He sat down and started to go thru all we needed to get the job done right. He understood my budget and found places to cut costs without losing the integrity of a great entertainment system. Then installation time. This is where I met Vu as well. Another knowledgeable professional just like Wil. They met Spectrum internet when they showed up for installation and Vu actually was telling the Spectrum installer how to properly hook things up and make our house the best it could be. For 3 days, Will and Vu battled the heat, multiple times in the attic, weird construction fixtures in my house that they had to overcome, among other things. They never complained, they were constantly on task to bring me the best entertainment system they could provide. And they were always gracious to my family who were constantly walking around unpacking things from our move. And my house has been done for about a month now and I am proud to say that I have had not one technical glitch from their work. I have no wires handing down to plugs. Each TV is set up so the only thing you see is the TV. It is so clean and professional. I have had so many compliments since I have had friends over. Another great thing Wil offers is that he answers calls and emails if I run into a problem. Even if I don't know simple streaming questions he will take the call and walk me thru the process. He is prompt to answer and is always willing to help. This whole experience has been awesome and now I am not a slave to ATT or Directv and their 3 year packages that end up gouging you after a year. All TV subscriptions are monthly and can be cancelled at anytime. Do not pass these guys up when you are searching to make your house awesome. You will not be disappointed.
