I tried two new stylists and wasn't thrilled with their work, so I tried a third. My experience with that third stylist was so bad that I was terrified to get a trim for six years. I'm extremely finicky over my length and always make a point to stress this. The stylist cut my mid-back length hair to my shoulders. I cried looking in the mirror most days for a good year, and I'm not exaggerating. Anyway...this place is incredible. Steve actually LISTENS and Carla is a talented and honest colorist. My hair was obviously in a state at this point where I needed to lose 5-6 inches of split ends and I was still happy when I left. Steve cut it in a way that would normally be uncomfortably short for me, but it still flattered my oval face. Been a regular for about two years now and he still starts small unless I tell him to cut more. Really refreshing coming from all these hairdressers that think "just take 1 inch" means they can get away with taking 4 and I won't notice. Two additional pluses: -Very reasonable pricing. If you are paying $100+ for a haircut you're being scammed. They're honest enough to keep their prices low so tip accordingly. -Resident chunky orange cat If they ever close or retire I will 100% go back to having scary uncut witch hair.

The services here are a bit pricey at times, but that's my girl and I'm scared to see anyone else for my hair, especially since she's helped me for years since I first came to her with a horrible dye job. She was a few minutes late into my appt, which was fine, since I wasn't in a hurry at that time. Asja is very friendly and personable. At one point before she started cutting my hair, she asked me a question and I didn't understand what she said (she speaks w/a very strong accent). She picked up a razor and asked if it was okay if she used it to cut my hair. I said sure, why not? As I was waiting to pay, I just so happened to confirmed the price of my haircut - and that's when I found out that w/her utilizing a razor, they charge an additional $10! I told the receptionist that I had no idea that it cost more! She said, "oh, well, then we'll just charge you $5." I really don't understand why they would charge more for this and can't justify the extra cost since all she did was use a different tool and honestly, it seemed much easier for her to use rather than a pair of scissors (which she did use, as well). I was completely put off by this. If you're going to offer a certain type of service but not tell the customer that's an additional fee, that's just shady. It's a shame, because while I think she did a good job cutting my hair, I don't care for people not being completely transparent with me.
