It's now 6 months later and the same issue is happening again. The new HVAC company is telling me that the new unit is fried because it was incorrectly wired. The new outdoor unit that they installed is incompatible with the indoor unit so the computer can't speak with the other one. It's also too big for my duct work, so it can't work and has to be replaced.

See the attached bill that Monticello air would charge me for it. ($687). I called another company and the repairman did the procedure in 15 minutes while I observed and charged me $150. After this experience, although I have never used Monticello air, I will never trust them.

At 6:49 pm I called the Albemarle Heating and Air's 24/7 ADVERTISED after hours' service. The operator states, "If you don't receive a call back from the on-duty technician within one hour, then call us back." REALLY???? At 8:00 pm I still have not received a call from on-duty tech. I called the answering service AGAIN. The operator who answered said he had no idea why the on-duty tech had not called. He sent another text message out to have the on-duty technician call me. At this point our house is 80 degrees inside. We are miserable and so is our 7-year old dog. At 10:35 pm I receive a call from the Albemarle Heating and Air "back up" tech. He tells me he is the back up to the official on-call tech. He did at least offer to come help me, BUT HE LIVED ONE HOUR AWAY FROM OUR LOCATION!!! This was when I reached out to the OWNER of another HVAC company--a company we have never used before and we have no service agreement with. The OTHER HVAC COMPANY'S OWNER personally showed up at my doorstep on Thursday morning, 8/21/25, and had my AC running within 5 minutes! That OTHER COMPANY was MONTICELLO AIR. We first used them for the countertops in our two bathrooms and were so happy with the result that we returned for our kitchen. The staff and owners were incredibly helpful, spending hours with us as we navigated their vast stone inventory. We finally chose a beautiful dolomite countertop that looks like a summer blue sky on a cloudy day in leathered finish. It truly brightened our kitchen and added a touch of elegance to the room. The installation was meticulous, the communication was excellent, and the price was very reasonable compared to other places we looked at. We also ended up buying our faucets and drawer handles from them. We were impressed with the quality--the faucets are all metal with no plastic parts, and the handles are solid and well-made. When we needed a few extra handles we went to another store because we were in a hurry, we immediately noticed the difference in quality. The handles from Blue Ocean had smooth edges and were a little cheaper, so we went back to order the rest from them. If you need a countertop, they should absolutely be at the top of your list.
