My care plan is not only 100% tailored to me, but Deanna also personalizes every session based on how I'm feeling both physically/mentally that day, integrating mental/physical well-being in her practice. She takes the time to listen/understand how my condition impacts my life, finds ways for me to integrate my home care routine more easily/efficiently into my lifestyle, explains how each exercise/stretch works, and creates new ones on the spot to help save me time by combining several into one. Deanna truly goes above/beyond by taking the time to help me better understand my condition anatomically, how it affects me physically, and took things a step further by helping me understand my MRI/x-ray impressions ordered by the pain docs but never explained to me in a way I could understand by them. Thanks to her and Annika's profound empathy/compassion, unremitting encouragement/devotion, inexhaustible patience/support, and exceptional teamwork; I have managed to get off opioids completely, drastically cut down on multiple other addictive meds, regain confidence in my self/my ability to get better, and learn what I can do to continue along this path to recovery without having to get surgery. I'm no longer stumbling around in the dark and can finally see light at the end of the tunnel. I told him that the most important thing was for me to get back on the golf course and play with my usual group of friends. I have now started playing golf again! Way to go Mauricio!! If you are not educated enough on the area you live in and you don't know that some part of Escondido are 30 minutes away from each other then please don't come at me with the hostility. Very rude interaction she goes on to say okay I will pull the request then have a good day and hangs up. I would not go here if someone paid me $1,000 a visit. They clearly do not care about the patients and Linda is very rude.

My mother is wheel-chair bound and has an after- stroke cognitive impairment. My sister and I visit her every day and always see her looking well groomed and cared for. I do see that staff is often overwhelmed and people are forced to multitask. It is not uncommon to see the same staff members serving food in the dining room and then providing personal care. I feel like the facility needs more staff! We did experience the loss of clothing a few times and that is another issue in need of more scrutiny. We take our mother outside to catch some fresh air every day, but unfortunately, it is not a common practice for the rest of the patients. I doubt if patients, that are not as often visited by family, ever catch any fresh air at all. Definitely something that needs to be considered, especially during the cold season. And the last but not least, the food variety. My mother can only take blended meals and I do not see much difference between lunch and dinner every day. A yogurt could be an option for a patient like her, but it is always mashed potatoes, blended protein and blended vegetable. Every single day! We are thankful overall. Many friends have mentioned that they also had had to make this difficult decision and transfer their parents to the post-acute care, but from what they've seen out there, Boulder Creek is still the best.

It took 5 years of requesting X-Rays, an MRI, going to a pain clinic, a back specialist, physical therapy, acupuncture, deep tissue massage and taking pain meds to establish a diagnosis and to treat the symptoms, all the while my back pain got progressively worse. I could not walk, stand up straight and sleep well at night. The medical diagnosis was determined to be mild arthritis and the MD's did not think I should be in so much pain. They offered surgery to deaden the nerves near my spine and at that point I gave up on the MD's and went to see Dr. Turpin. Six weeks after returning to Chiropractic care, my back pain has diminished by 50% and is continuing to improve, I am standing up straight, walking with little to no pain, sleeping soundly and I no longer take any medication for pain. He was fantastic during a difficult decision. If I have to give a star, it is because of him. After intake into PHC, our experience went downhill quickly and it was terrible. Let me tell a few of the examples we experienced. - NEGLECTED TO HAVE CARE TEAM MEETING: They said we would have a meeting after 1 week of him being there to learn about the assessments their team conducted and the treatments he needed. 3 weeks later, we had to advocate to have a meeting. After the meeting there was zero follow up on pending items from the meeting, even after numerous emails where we never received a response. - SUB PAR MEDICAL CARE: The facility dr recommended a referral for specialty dr upon his arrival and it was never done, even though emails were sent over and over asking about it and expressing our growing concerns associated with the needed referral. It was also discussed at the Care Team Meeting...no follow thru. Additionally, when needing a doctor to fill out a form, it took over 3 weeks and there was an excuse at every turn. - COMMUNICATION IS HORRIBLE: Calls regarding healthcare changes or updates were inconsistent, emails were never answered, and when they said that a therapist would call with an update-it never happened. My dad's weight was dropping and they said the dietician would call...never happened. My dad fell, and 911 was called, the nurse could not explain what had happened or how long he had been there or even if they found him on the crash mat. - LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM: Our family found another care facility after 5 weeks of watching our dad's health decline. Three different people notified Poway Healthcare 72 hours in advance of the move and there was no response from PHC. When move day came, they acted like they were unaware, would not answer calls or emails, were inaccurate in their understanding of the laws around him leaving and release of records. The refused to let my dad go with the new facility. Only after the new facility arrived to take him did PHC reach out to me. They also then started making the medical appointments that were discussed in the Care Team Meeting - I am sure this was an attempt to clean up their records. - INTERFERING IN CONTINUITY OF MEDICAL CARE: It took them 4 weeks to provide the medical records for the treatments they provided to my dad during the 5 weeks to the new facility. We had completed the paperwork for the new facility to allow the release of records and when that did not happen, we immediately sent in completed forms they provided for facility. 3 weeks later, they tell of "their policy" for sending records to a facility. - READ THE OTHER REVIEWS: My dad was also one that was diapered, laying in bed all day in dirty linens, with his health declining rapidly. Loss of weight, mobility, and dignity was quick.
