They couldn't bring their truck up (to big and ceilings to low) so my guy walked up, assessed the situation, called for back up and they pushed the car around the corner and down the parking garage ramp, then down a block to a side street. Now the truck could load and get me to my favorite repair shop, JP Automotive, on the westside. Thank you budget towing for thinking out of the box and not stoping at "it can't be done." It was ready Thursday (3 days!) They even cleaned/vacuumed it out for me (it was a real mess!). Additionally, since I needed to pay out of pocket for a new windshield, Francisco let me arrange to have a local company put in the windshield while it was at their shop, so I wasn't further inconvenienced. This is a large dealership. We stopped by to grab a roll of rodent tape from the parts department…read more- it's the stuff you wrap a wiring harness in to keep mice from chewing on it - Honda is famous for having the best stuff. We parked in front of the showroom and assumed that the parts department would be around the side - but which side? We went to the right, which was the wrong move. A salesperson and two other representatives immediately came out of the showroom to ask if we needed help finding something - the approach made it feel like we were up to no good and they were checking up on us. They pointed us in the right direction, which is through the showroom. It turns out that there is a side entrance - from the left side. The parts guy was helpful, but he wanted to charge a huge markup on a roll of tape... $82! For reference, this can be found online from other Honda dealers for about $45. He suggested that the high price was fair because we can have it today! We managed to talk him down to $65, which is still high, but we got it that day. On the way out, one of the sales guys complimented our old Model S, which was appreciated. Thoughts overall - the employee to customer ratio was probably 5:1, the initial interaction was a turnoff, and the price gouging isn't going to win any repeat business. On the positive side, and to be totally fair, the dealership was clean, the cars on the lot were staged well and clean, the parts department had some neat swag, the restrooms were nice and the location is convenient.
