I recently stopped in the WestSide Les Schwab to get a quote on some tires for our Outback. The woman who helped me pick out my next set of tires was very friendly and knowledgeable. I had them put on a higher quality tire and I have to say that I am very happy, our car drives better than it did when we bought it new, these tires are amazing! The crew in the service area didn't waste any time installing the new tires either, they are very efficient. The service was friendly. I love that they have coffee and popcorn for customers in the waiting area, that's always a bonus. They have honored my tire warranty once, even when I got them from a Les Schwab from another city. My only reason for giving two stars is because I actually ran over a coil over that was broken and laying in the street. I brought it inside and asked if they could check my coils out, I was only in there to ask for air in my tires. When the technician came back to me he quoted me for an alignment and struts. I drove my car back to my home city and had my mechanic brother-n-law take a look under the car. Everything looked perfect, and he even took pictures of my coils, which looked nothing like the one I ran over. How could this be a mistake? read more

Bring your business to a different location. Staff is quite rude at this one. Recently brought in my cargo van to fix a tire after a long road trip. I had an appointment to have a tire fixed and was caught off guard by the rudeness of the host/cashier. Very disappointing since my initial visit here was quite positive. The set of tires in question were originally purchased less than 2 years ago and came highly recommended to me from Les Schwab (60,000mi warranty) Toyo All Terrains. They couldn't fix the tire and wouldn't replace them under warranty despite having them less than 20,000mi (this is a guesstimate on my part), and suggested that I was off roading (in a low clearance, 2 wheel drive ProMaster, really?) or possibly not using them for the intended purpose and proceeded to try and upsell me to a different set of tires which weren't actually in stock for 2 weeks. I declined and asked for some kind of make good, which to be fair they did compromise and put a new set of tires on my van at a slightly reduced price minus labor. To add insult to injury the rude cashier lady called me by the wrong name and proceeded to snort laugh at her own obnoxious "joke" at my expense. Hilarious! Recommend taking your business to a different tire place unless you enjoy rude staff and jokes at your expense. read more

Took car in for leaking tire as my family has done for decades. After waiting 3 hours, a worker said we can't fix it as your tires are unserviceable. I said what does that mean. Got the same exact response. Then a manger echoed it and gave me a price of 650$ for new rear tires. I asked for my car back and just air up the low tire. They gave my keys back but did not air up the tire for me. They say they were concerned for my safety as a reason not to fix the nail hole. But was ok with me driving away with 10 pounds of psi in my tire, as 10 lbs of psi leaked while waiting for a fix in their lot. I use to love this place. Now, it's what I expect from any other tire company. In fact, I went across town and had the tire fixed at their Burlington competition. That company was absolutely fine fixing the hole for 25$. read more

Should be less than 1 star. Watch out for Les Schwab, they tried to rip me off. The right / rear tire on my van had a slow leak. I took the van into the Mount Vernon store on Thursday, October 6th , at about 20 minutes before closing. The repair man did not even remove the tire to look at it. He told me the tire leaked because of dry root. Google on dry rot: " Tire Dry Rot, aka Sidewall Weathering, is visible cracking in a tire's tread or sidewall caused when a tire's rubber compounds break down. " He went on to tell me all 4 tires had dry rot. Yet the tread on all the other tires is good and none of them had leaks. He wanted me to buy 4 new truck tires at about $1400.00! Of course, I declined. On Tuesday, October 11, I took the van to Pep Boys. First thing the man there did was to REMOVE THE TIRE from the van. He rolled the tire slightly, pointed, and said, " Sir, there is a nail in this tire." Tire was removed from the wheel, nail was removed. I watch him as he sent about 30 minutes, grinding the inside of the tire, installing a patch that also had a plug which is pulled threw the tread where the hole from nail was. Tire was balanced and mounted on the van. He put 80 pounds of air in the tire. That was at about 5 pm yesterday. As of now, 11 am the next morning, tire still holds 80lbs psi. Okay, maybe the guy on the night 20 minutes before closing, was a lazy SOB, but he should not have tried to sell me 4 new tires I diffidently did not need !! DROP DEAD, Les Schwab! read more

On Saturday afternoon 7/21 took my girlfriends Porsche Cayman there with her to get a leak fixed on a tire. The boys were nice and helpful and made two patches --unfortunately the tire went immediately lower later that night. I should also note that they did not charge her which was quite generous. Problem occurred she returned on Tuesday the 24th to have it re-done. They actually fixed it and did not charge her-- BUT pressed her to buy new tires --which is absolutely unnecessary as the two gentlemen helping us on Saturday said they were just fine. I knew they were just fine also--the wear marks have plenty to go and there are no uneven spots. Nice job on the free service and ultimately getting it right however... Sorry to say another despicable case of an auto shop preying on single women. read more

I was quoted 450$ to install TPMS sensors and swap tires on my truck. The tires being swapped were purchased originally from a Les Schwab but they wanted to charge me labor for the mount/dismount despite the "Les Schwab Promise" of Free lifetime mount and balance. I declined the service and called Discount Tire in Burlington. They did all of the labor including new TPMS for 4 tires out the door for 60$ a wheel. I'm completely unsatisfied with Les Schwab trying to charge me for mount/dismount labor, and quoting double their local competitor. Overall I have had generally very poor customer service at this Mount Vernon Les Schwab. I will not be bringing my business any longer (see previous review). read more

The staff here are always very helpful and knowledgeable. Today we had my moms car towed here with a flat/ruined tire. I was able to call ahead of time and let them know the car was coming in and I was able to give them approval over the phone for a new tire beforehand. The tech made the right decision and put a used tired on. This was instead of putting two new tires. Recently I brought my Ford expedition in, fully expecting to need new brakes and prepared to spend a good chunk of money. Instead the Les Schwab team informed me that I simply needed my rotors turned. I left that time spending less than $100. Les Schwab/Westside Tire Center will always have our business! read more

Let me tell you a little story about a girl who got a screw in her tire at 6am on a Saturday morning while trying to catch a ferry in Anacortes. Don't worry it has a happy ending. Thankfully the girl took the Google Map route through Mt. Vernon and stumbled on the only Les Schwab in all of Washington that was actually open at 7:00am on a Saturday morning. Imagine her delight when she pulled up on a flimsy donut tire to the open bays, cautiously asked if there was any chance she might get a tire repaired on her way to the ferry and the reply came back as a cheery smile and "of course." She didn't even get a chance to park the car before a chipper service tech opened her door and asked for the keys. Inside the shop, the customer service rep just smiled when the girl mentioned that it the store didn't open till 8am. "They like to get started early," she said, as though this was nothing out of the ordinary. A cup of coffee and conversation with the nicest customer service lady in all of Northwest Washington and the girl was presented with an invoice for a tire repair with a zero total. Credit card in hand, she paused. "Oh, it's no charge," said the magical customer service fairy. "good luck with the ferry." And the girl was on her way. She even made the boat with plenty of time to spare. See, I told you it had a happy ending. Why it's not a fairytale: This has to be one of the most friendly staffed chain tire places I've ever been too. Although the tire repair was free in my case, I would have had no problem forking over dough just based on the great customer service and awesome speed at which my car was back on the road with the flimsy donut safely stashed back in the truck. I still can't believe my "good luck, bad luck: who's to say?" story. read more

Few days ago, pouring rain, driving a friends car, low tire pressure light came on, stopped at this Les Schwab location. Walking by the work area, toward the office, heard a guy yell, "Hey, how can I help you?" Explained my problem, he immediately came out, tested and filled the low tires, and sent me on my way. This could have been a sad story that begins with a screw in a new tire, but it's not. After spending a nice day in La Conner, we were leaving for our next stop on a lovely day. Cue the tire pressure warning, and a tire rapidly losing pressure with a screw right between the tread. We get the tire changed, but it's a long way back to Seattle on a light-duty spare. We were told the closest place was in Mr. Vernon at Les Schwab Tire Center. We got there less than an hour before they closed. A mechanic/technician named Ryan greeted me in the driveway...asked me what the problem was...and told me where to pull my car. After a quick stop to get my information, he was on the repair in less than 5 minutes. In less than 15 minutes, we were fixed up and on our way. Super friendly, honest and fast! My BF and I were driving a rental car when the check tire pressure light came on. We were only half way through our trip so we pulled into the nearest Schwab to get it checked out. We were greeted right at the door by a friendly staff member. They looked over the car in about twenty minutes and came out and told us the gauge was just off and to let the rental company know, but we were safe to drive. This little side trip took a total of 30 minutes and didn't disrupt our trip in the slightest. Also, they didn't charge us to check on the car. There was NO eye contact from any of the workers. NO acknowledgement that they saw is. We left after 10 minutes of waiting or wasting our time. Never coming to this location. I came in 10 minutes to closing on a Saturday with a mostly flat tire. Didn't expect to get in, but figured I'd give it a try and at the very least schedule an appointment for another day. Sam (customer service) sighed, said "If I don't get you in today, you'll have to wait until Monday. I can't do that." He signed me up and told me they'd get to be as soon as possible, even though they weren't going to be done with their current work until 6. Great staff. Spent $450 on front pads, calipers, and rotars. A few weeks later the calipers rusted. At first their offer to resolve tge issue was to paint the calipers that already rusted. I posted a yelp complaint, Les schwab reached out on the issue, and corrected the issue quickly by replacing the calipers with new painted calipers. read more

Never doing business there again. They quoted me $36 to mount and balance my tires. A couple hours later I come to pick it up and the bill is $106. They lied and said that I approved the amount over the phone (they never called) then looked at me and said I should have known it would've been more. We were on our way to go see the tulips when our car started making a funny noise ... the squeal of a belt slipping, and a strange rattling noise. Belts slip from time to time, but the noise got worse, as well as the rattling and thunking until suddenly most of the systems went out on the car. The air conditioning failed, the power steering got sluggish, the engine temperature spiked, and the battery light came on. We managed to get the car back to the Les Schwab Tire Center before it melted down completely. It was Saturday, and the only auto repair store either wasn't open, or was too busy to answer their phone. Even though they don't do auto repairs, they had one of their technicians take a look at the car to see if he could at least figure out what was wrong. He figured out that one of the springs holding on a tensioner pulley for the belt system broke and the pulley must have fallen off when we heard that thunking noise. He ordered the part and got it in for us, replaced it, and readjusted the belt. We were so impressed that they didn't tell us, "We're only a tire store, we can't help you," and instead fit us in to the rest of their busy workload. When the guys found out we were there to photograph the tulips, they pointed us to a location that few people knew about, so we could avoid traffic and most of the crowds. They saved our car, and they saved our weekend. Thanks guys! read more

Horrible Service. I just bought a car and didnt have the key for the locking lug nuts so i went to Les Schwab to get a "Tuner key". The gentlman was nice and i brought one but when i went to use it i cracked on the side and then i went to tell the guy about 4 hours later it broke and he went off on me saying there is no possilbe way this could of broke what did you do this. I asked the guy if he could warranty it since it was a only a 5 dollar part he said no and went off again about how did you brake this there is no way you could of broken this and told me his guys use these days in and out and never break these.. Long story short the guy made me feel like a retard in front a bunch of people and was rude.. Wont go back there again. The gentlman was the manager there or something too. read more

My brother in law and I were hanging out in the lobby when the manager came over and started talking about wishing that the people outside washing cars were the Mount Vernon high school cheer leaders in their bikinis. I complained to an employee and got the owners number and talked to him. The owner said he was a good upstanding man. Never going back to this place again. Took my truck in to diagnose a wheel shake when I hit bumps. They told me it needed upper control arms and a new steering rack. I gave them 1300 to fix it. Upon picking it up it was WORSE than when I dropped it off and they added a new problem, leaking power steering lines. So scheduled another diagnosis. This time drove with the tech in the car. He said I needed tires balanced, so scheduled yet another appointment to have the tires balanced, after that same problem. They then fixed my leaking lines that they caused and charged me for it as well. We are going on 3 weeks now. Every time I bring it in, 3x's now, I have to take a day off of work. I talked to the manager on Friday and he said let me talk to my tech and call you back, it's now Monday and no call or contact at all. My kids race motor cross and we've missed about 2 weeks of racing due to my truck not being safe to drive and Les Schwab's run around. NEVER take your vehicle here. I'm out almost 1500 now and my truck is no better off than when it was dropped off. read more

In the world of auto rip offs, this place is amazing. Just like the commercials, almost always one or more guys often will meet me before I even get out of the car. I can not say enough about this place. The worst that has ever happened to me here is that they do what they say - costs what they say, done when they say, etc. On numerous occasions, the mechanics appear to give me special attention, to get my car fixed, and get me on my way as soon as possible. Usually very quick! Also, frequently, they don't even charge me for what they have done. Incredible!!! read more
