I'm pretty sure Zach is a wizard, but that is purely personal opinion. This place is for serious thrifters who are willing to work for their treasures. Just yesterday I climbed upon a heap of clothing and dug out an amazing wool trench coat! For only $1! Also, make sure to give yourself at least 2 hours. The place is never ending and could take someone weeks, maybe months to go through it all. Lastly- go in the morning when it's cool because it's mostly outside under a tent. I truly feel everyone should see this place at least once in their life. That's how strange, magical, and amazing it all is. I doubt you'll ever leave this place is a bad mood. This is a Thrift store like I have never experienced before. The amount of merchandise is truly overwhelming. If you want something special, they likely have it. Everyone in the store was looking for something different. People were looking for decorations (they found it)! Clothes - yes. One person was looking for art projects - found it. There were tools, and books, and furniture, and dishes and glasses and games and small appliances, and cushions, and mens stuff and kids stuff and womens stuff etc. Household stuff, yes, they have it. You will need to come back over and over to be able to see everything. Bring a friend to carry your stuff for you, and maybe even a truck. Prices were very very fair. The operators are very friendly. A really fun place to go if you've got a little bit of extra time! There's always a bunch of funky jewelry and I always score some cool earrings every time I go. I will say that it lives up to it's name - the inventory is HUGE, and there's a lot of stuff that you will never find somewhere else (6x6ft mcdonalds sign, anyone). However, because there is so much, and it's kind of poorly organized, it's hard to find clothes. There are a few racks you can peruse, but the rest is either shoved into bins and tucked away or put on top of Clothes Mountain, which literally towers above my head. All in all, i would say don't go here if you're looking for clothes, but it's a fun place to get jewelry or cheap dishware, old electronics, cooking equipment, etc. I'll definitely be back! read more

What a treasure trove! Tons of great stuff, both contemporary and vintage. Shop owner and staff are incredibly friendly. When the owner learned I was shopping for toys for a school theater fundraiser on a small budget, he donated the three big garbage bags of toys I had gathered. What a guy! PSA - If you're searching for a $100 piano that works like a dream, you can stop the hunt here. There's something cool everywhere you look in this place, but there's so much stuff you have to be a dedicated treasure hunter. I went here on a whim on my trip back from the sequoias and ended up spending two hours exploring. The only drawback is it's really impossible to search through the clothes unless you have a wheelbarrow (check out the pictures others posted of that mountain of clothes). The place has a long history and the complimentary fruit was the cherry on top. This is a must stop thrift shop. read more

Came in here looking for some pieces for a last minute Ren Faire costume, met Zach and Prudence and understand what all the other reviewers have been talking about. Piles and piles of treasure waiting to be found. I dug deep and found two bases to outfits (blouses and skirts) - Zach even found a necklace that he thought would be great, but I passed this time-- What matters is they were willing to help and seem to have fun doing it. Yes, it is a free-for-all in regards to organization, but that is where the adventure lies...plus it makes you feel even more accomplished once you find what you need! Oh My. We know Zach from the Glendale College Swap Meet on the 3rd Sunday. I have been finding some super cool costume jewelry at his stand there for a couple of months. We decided to check out his store on San Fernando, and my husband the artist, went along ahead of me when I was out of town. He prepared me by saying "You will not believe how much you will see over there." While we were there this morning we met some of Zach's employees and got to chat a bit. I love the costume jewelry and random other goods I find: CDs, plant pots, earrings, and kitchen items. Pretty nifty that you can also go outside out back and find amazing items: appliances, clothing, games, toys, and all throughout we got to chat with Zach who is great. I cannot do too much hunting in one go but my husband was able to locate some fun beads and items to use in his sculptures. Zach can also locate stuff in this plethora of items such as special request owls or kewpie dolls... just ask! Zach lets people buy clothes for $1 all Tuesdays. Four stars for the incredible uniqueness of this place and the biggest star for Zach's personality and that he employs local people in the community. He is fantastic and deserves to have the accolades. read more

Great thrift store. Has huge selection of clothes, bed-wear, fabric etc. Their inventory is messy and some items are a bit dusty but that's nothing a pair of gloves won't fix. Zack is a unique individual in a very positive way. My first visit I had forgot to take more cash and he gave me a great deal about 14 items for 10 dollars. He was welcoming, delightfully funny but most important he was kind to me. I will definitely be returning. A good parking spot is sort of difficult to get since they have another thrift store next door ( THE RELIC: more of a tools and equipment kinda thrift) so the front street parking is almost always full. read more
