After a nightmare contractor experience to begin, I was confident when I then hired Red Hammer I would be in good hands. While things started off well, they quickly declined and I was left with half finished projects yet I was out the full amount as if everything was fully completed and correct. Towards the end everything was rushed, so things weren't completed to the quality you'd expect for the price and some other items were simply not completed. I was told I would be reached out to when there was additional time to finish items, but never was. This left me having to find someone else to redo and/or complete some of the work which is extremely disappointing and a significant financial strain for a first time home buyer.

He also did all finishing touches including installing the drywall, door, floor tiles, and painting. Then, in our kitchen, we hired Tauhid to install a new kitchen sink and countertop along with a dishwasher. We were so impressed by his work that we then had him re-drywall our living room ceiling and install crown molding. All of the work took many months to complete, and not only was it done beautifully, but Tauhid was amazing to work with and has become a friend who we know we can call on for any small or big jobs that we need. Since that time, we sold that house (I'm sure Tauhid's work helped us get top dollar for our house), and we have since had him install a dishwasher at my parents' home and move washer/dryer lines from the basement to the first floor. I'd already given the job to Gifford so I honored it. I should have known that if he were available immediately, it was a bad sign. 2- Not trustworthy. I contracted him for the job remotely and he said that he has 40+ years of experience and would be on-site. He said that he runs his own business and to trust him. The interior painter who also runs her own business and WAS on site said that he dropped off 2 guys in his truck and drove off. 3- Didn't finish the job. When I went up the day before listing the property, I noticed 1- his guys didn't paint behind the stairs. 2- There was a piece of lattice that had fallen off, gotten muddy and his guys JUST PAINTED OVER THE MUD and left it on the ground. His response was "It was like that before we started as well. We stained it propped up" Really? His guys don't think they should prep a sruface before painting it and just hammer one lattice in? I had someone I trusted there doing other work so I paid that guy $100 to correct these things and repaint the bench and deck finials which also didn't look great. I sent pictures to Gifford asking him for reimbursement (not even $100 but what he thought was fair). He didn't respond. 4-Unprofessional. Before he started the work, he mistakenly sent me a text meant for his buddy about "Coatesville women" - you can read between the lines. I should have known then.
