The feeling of getting up at 4:30am to get smashed by your friends might not be everyone's cup of coffee, but it's my ultimate start of the day. Getting some fun rolls in learning from experienced instructors like Nyza and Ed is a great way to start the morning. I definitely recommend coming to the 5am class!

Masters Martial Arts School was the perfect fit and offers a military discount and family rate reduction for my son and I (I'm hoping my 4 year old shows interest in training soon to get even more training and value). Coach Nyza is a very welcoming, positive, and uplifting instructor that demonstrates patience with all students. He possesses complete mastery of his craft as a martial artist and instructor. There are a lot of opportunities for beginners and advanced classes. I go at 5am and my son goes at 4pm which is perfect since I don't want my training to interfere with my family time after work. The culture is extremely welcoming and family oriented. All instructors, assistants, and students check their egos at the door and work toward the same objective, which fosters a cohesive and comfortable training environment. Coach Ed instructs the 5am class and provides thorough instruction for all levels while managing to keep things light with humorous analogies. The group varies from 10-20 people in the mornings so the instruction is more personalized unlike larger chain gyms that have 2-3 times the students training. My son and I have been training here since January and I highly recommend Masters Martial Arts for anyone looking to train regardless of age, gender, or experience level.

It's a dog eat dog lot at the Honolulu location. Friendly good morning when I came in, and checked in with my phone number since I have a membership. It's smaller than Honolulu but they use the space effectively. After I got off the stairmill, I walked around to look at the equipment. He: Hey Mike Me: Yes. He: Your membership only gives you access to the location you signed up at. Me: Oh, I didn't know that. I signed up online. He: But you are good to work out here today. You just might want to look over your membership. I think there's a level that gives you access to all. Me: Thanks! Jason was great! Polite and courteous and made me feel welcomed even though I didn't read the fine print...LOL! I would definitely be back if I change to the next level of membership. Again, it has a great layout!

There is no shortage of equipment you can use for just about any exercise you are looking to do. I have also been working with a trainer there, Coach Joleen, for over two years and she has been a great coach. She is extremely knowledgeable, supportive and encouraging. I usually have sessions twice and week and they are a part of my week I look forward to. And she keeps me on track! She is an excellent coach that I would recommend to anyone. Mahalo, Coach!

It is actually up a set up stairs directly on top of the cross fit gym, and jiu jitsu gym. Parking is tight here people usually park across the street behind a chain link fence. Street parking is also available on the whole side of the roads. I wouldn't risk it parking in a designated business spot in their tiny parking lot. That aside.... We Decided to visit this place through meetups app while on vacation for a breath workshop with Hunter. I had been looking a month ago at things I would love to do while out if our normal area, for classes and workshops to add to my training. I was glad I found this one! Once in, and talking to the instructor He said they're trying new classes out, and currently his is donation based, (but I'm sure it could change in the future), and to bring your own mat/ blanket etc for a rejuvenating intro to breath on weds at 6pm for 45 minutes. I am Yoga Nidra certifies, and this very much so reminded me of that with breath work. However, we were consciously awake and checked up on constantly through the practice. An awesome experience for those that need to tune in to themselves and out of the world. Great for people visiting the island looking to relax on a deeper level, and for locals who need to get back in touch with their innermost. Strongly suggest! I like that this studios energy seems very balanced, safe, and comfortable. It's very chill and welcoming, as was Hunter. Thanks for the lovely experience, and for hosting such awesome events for people on meetup app! Hope to visit next time I'm in the area :0)

Chi Kung, Kung Fu, Tai Chi are just some of what are offered. They also host workshops on varied topics conducted by themselves, as well as other community members. Workshops such as "Heal Your Back & Neck Pain", "Building Better Balance" have provided me with tools for life. My back and neck are the most comfortable they have been in years. I started with Tai Chi and discovered so much else to learn. In addition to Chi Kung, I'm enjoying kettlebell and a variety of strength training. My flexibility has tremendously improved, too. At times, it's been challenging, but I enjoy learning new things and feeling well. The quality of teaching is very high here. Bruno is very patient, humble, and knowledgable beyond his years. He is an exceptional teacher and the reason for my first yelp review. I've learned more from him in one year than the 20 years I invested in gym memberships. This is not an exaggeration. Other students have told me that Catherine is an excellent teacher, as well. If you enjoy learning new things and enjoy feeling well, give San Bao Center a try.
