I ordered a dress online a week before I needed it (not a very start decision but I was desperate). When the dress finally came 3 days before my event I tried it on and it was huge on me. I went to a couple seamstresses down the hill but all told me that it wasn't enough time. I then found Alla. She was very helpful and told be that she could fix my dress in time for my event. She had a very professional atmosphere and you could tell she knew what she was doing unlike some others. She was very educated in the work that she is doing! Ten out of ten would recommend! Wow, she's amazing. I brought her a lambs wool sweather with three large moth-eaten holes. One was at least 1" wide. When I picked up the repaired sweater, the holes were GONE, and I couldn't even find evidence of a patch or a repair. I wish I had a before and after to show you. read more

I purchased a concert dress for my daughter who is a cellist. The dress arrived just two days before the concert and it was about 4" too long. We came in to Alla's and she was able to hem it up and have it ready the next day. Sure, you pay for the express service, but it is well worth it. She is very professional and pleasant to work with. Alla did great patch work for my leather vest the first time so I had all the confidence to bring it back again. Ok pricing ($10). On the other hand, when I came to pick up my vest the second round - that's when we had a problem. She sewed my pocket shut with my patch making it completely unusable. How does a seamstress miss this first of all? But whatever accidents happen. I was cool with it until she decided to tell me in order to fix the problem, she would have to remove the patch for 4x ($20) the amount I originally paid ($5) to have it done plus an additional $20 to put it back on! Then she told me once the patch was removed it was going to leave noticeable holes in my vest. Really??! Then why charge?? I left with my patch still in tact and pocket unable to use and do NOT plan on going back. read more

Alla has been a miracle worker of all of the outfits I've brought in . She does beautiful , impeccable work and I trust her completely. She has taken care of my early 1950's vintage dresses and even all of my four daughters bridesmaid dresses for their eldest sister's wedding including my dress. She works so incredibly fast but each item comes out to perfection of the vision you have for it. I can't even begin to put into words how happy I've been having Alla for all my tailoring needs. Being only 5'3" she certainly sees me often. Her skills and problem solving ability are phenomenal. She is able to take dresses of mine and fulfill the hopes I have for that item even though in the sewing profession these adjustments would normally not be possible. In addition she truly is the sweetest person, a complete pleasure to know and such strong work ethic. I recommend her to everyone I know up here.
