Hidden in a warehouse in Allegan is this crazy fun escape! After a short safety and how-to speech we were harnessed and ready for the sixteen different 25 foot climbing walls. Once our arms sufficiently felt like gelatin we transitioned to the ropes course. Two levels with some challenging events between platforms high in the air! There's a tiny yikes mini course as well. Don't forget the two zip lines and free fall! If you're up for it there's a vertical slide too! The facility has clean bathrooms... use before entering the fun because once your down you're done. There have a small snack selection but the prices are reasonable. read more

The idea and what they have going on is a good idea. I'm sure my opinion would be different if my daughter's life was not put at risk. She could have died. Her harness was securly tightened on her body and her harness was clipped to the ropes that prevent you from falling... but the strap that secures you to the corse was not connect properly and would not have held her body weight if she would have slipped or hung on her harness. Super neglectful!! I will not return. Please double check everything, ask questions if you are unsure!! A life is not worth assuming they know what they are doing. read more

What a fun place! I attended an event here this afternoon and was definitely impressed. I felt completely safe at all times even with the various heights and levels of difficulty of the ropes course. The attendants were friendly, knowledgeable and encouraging. I definitely think this is a great place for anyone from toddlers to Baby Boomers, myself being the latter. The place is super clean and lots of seating for people watching or if you just need a rest. They have free lockers for you to use to put your phone/keys etc while you climb as you can't have anything on you. All the staff was friendly and helpful. I asked lots of questions about pricing/packages and how the climbing worked for different ages kids. They explained very clearly even to young kids how to safely use the equipment. My kids loved the rock climbing wall area- most of the walls were challenging for kids under 8. I even had trouble on a couple. My kids enjoying the sky trail and doing the zip lines but my 5 year old was happy to go to the tot area for some easier play after an hour up on the tall ones. The pricing is a little on the high side and if you don't buy a package everything has unique rules and everything is an extra cost. But overall it was fun and my kids asked to go back again. They serve food and alcoholic beverages but we didn't buy anything this trip. read more

We came here over spring break, and took advantage of the spring break special for unlimited climbing for $30. In order to stretch my budget, my six-year-old did and Olive cart climb. She had unlimited climbing up the walls, and was able to go on the small ropes course once. Her climb cost $20. I will say, that it was worth the drive from Grand Rapids to check it out and to run off a little bit of pent-up winter Steam. The ropes course is really neat and has two levels. There are two zip lines in the ropes course and one rappelling line. The climbing walls are unique and different than any other climbing walls I've seen. I like the built-in safety features of 1 climber / wall, and the rappelling rope hooks into each harness which opens the wall. It's a really neat feature. We did not do the slide feature, because it was not included. That's an extra $10 for two slides. So, I would probably give a helpful hint to pack a lunch or snacks to bring along with you. We did not think of that and had to return to the main line in order to purchase anything from the snack bar. The snack bar has limited offerings to a few ice cream treats and basic vending machine-type items for a $1.50 each. Because we had to step back into the main line in order to purchase anything from the snack bar, we ended up waiting for snacks for about 10 more minutes. I understand that they were busy due to the spring break special, however if do you want to save yourself that weight and that extra expense pack a snack or lunch of your own. Also, the ropes course was good for only one time. So if they got on the ropes course and then left the ropes course they were done. There was no getting back on the ropes course. This is hard to explain to a six-year-old who wants to go to the bathroom, but also doesn't want to get off the ropes course. I think that the climbing walls were really neat, and offered a great variety of skill levels and also fun themes. My 11 year old who loves to climb had a blast trying to figure out how to get up each and every wall. The timed wall was one of his favorites and he kept pushing himself to beat his earlier time. My six-year-old even climbed on quite a few of the walls so they were different skill levels available for each age. All in all, I'm glad we went for spring break. It made something special out of our staycation. I personally don't think we will be back. Only because I thought the cost was quite high in comparison to the amount of time we spent there and what I perceived as the value. I spent close to $60 for two children and we only stayed for about 2 hours. Well it's a fun thing to do once, I think it's kind of a "been there, done that" situation. If they change up the walls for different climbing experiences, that may piqued our interest enough to want to go back later, but I would not take all three children there without busting our monthly budget. read more

Quick Guide: Pros: Exciting, safe, family adventure. Cons: Be warned, it gets scary. Allegan Event was a wonderful adventure! I would love to go back and try some of the features that I missed. Unfortunately, we just got to sample the new indoors high ropes course. While it was great, there's a lot more that AE has to offer. All that being said, here's a quick rundown of the indoor high ropes course. The course offers a plethora of challenges that can be tackled at their own pace. Three feet off the ground is the low ropes course for kiddos and those who start to get nervous higher up. About ten feet above that is the lower level of the high ropes course. This lower level boasts challenging but accessible obstacles that may stall you, but, with a bit of perseverance, most can triumph. The highest level, which looms a solid 40-50 feet off the ground, really challenges you, both physically and mentally. Erika and I both had a blast and left with aching arms, but smiles on our faces. It was an incredibly good time and offers an opportunity to face a fear in a very safe environment. read more

Place looks very impressive. We had kids from 4 to 8 years old, they all enjoyed it. They did *Sky Trail *Clip n' Climb *Vertical Drop Slide. Kids started out doing Clip n' Climb, kids were technically able to choose up to 5 walls to climb, but staff doesn't count or keep track so essentially they could climb all walls. Kids climbed as many as they could handle before their hands started hurting. Next was Vertical Drop Slide, unfortunately all kids only got to do this once. Last stop was the giant Sky Trail. If it wasn't for the adults wanting to grab food, the kids could probably stay on the Sky Trail for a while longer. We spent a little over 2hrs here. It was a cold day outside when we were there and inside the building was cold also!!! Going to have to go back to check out the outdoor ziplining! read more

Location, location, location. What a beautiful spot for zipping over the water. The staff is amazing and does a great job of making newcomers feel comfortable and ensuring people know how to ride safely. They recently hosted the biggest New Years Eve ball drop in Michigan, and they're expanding to also host an indoor facility with rock climbing and ropes course, which I can't wait to check out. In addition to ziplining, guests can also choose to purchase a "jump" off the top platform, which is super scary but very exhilarating. By all rights it shouldn't be any scarier than the zipping, but when you step off the ledge you can't actively see how the apparatus is going to catch you, so it's kind of a leap of faith. On my visit, about a third of the guests chickened out on the jump, but everybody loved the zip. This is truly becoming a must-see destination in Southwest Michigan. read more

Visited this gem as part of AHS grad bash. There is something for everyone! The staff did a superb job keeping the seniors happy and busy! The climbing walls, quick jump and ropes course were all crazy fun! I definitely recommend making a day of it! I hear they're expanded to an outside course and maze! The zip line was a lot of fun! Beautiful views over the river. The staff couldn't have been nicer. If you are at all nervous they will put you at ease. They also have a free fall platform. I didn't have the nerve to do that, but my husband did. He enjoyed it. The whole process ( getting in your harness) and quick instructions did not take long, so if there's a line it will go pretty fast. In October, just down the road, they're opening another facility that will be indoors. It will include another zip line and so much more, so stay tuned. read more

The zipline was amazing. Going over the water was a great setting for the line! The staff was phenomenal. The multiple checks that they do before each pass for each participant is amazing. For those that are nervous, they are great cheerleaders! The speed in which people get to go from one to the other side is amazing. I loved the free fall. It was a great addition to evening. The gal that was up there was awesome to talk with and she did a great job talking people through their nervousness and hesitation. Friendly and extremely knowledgeable staff! Having the zip line over the water was stunning and quite the experience, it was relaxing. The free fall seems terrifying at first, however, after a second of doubt once you have jumped, you feel the tension of the ropes and just enjoy the rest. It feels like a 3 second fall. LOVED IT! This place is a total waste of money. We just had my sons Birthday Party here and it was the worst 450.00 I ever spent. They couldn't find my reservation then brought out two pizza's that literally four people could eat alone. So I had to purchase three more pizza's because they only have one size for pizza. Then told my kids they did not have access to rock climbing for almost 500.00 we should have not been denied ANYTHING. I would never again attend this place again and I advise you not to as well. Airway in Portage, MI is 100 percent better and cheaper. You actually get a way bigger bang for your buck. read more

What a great time! Gliding across the Kalamazoo River was loads of fun, and something I would do again in a minute. The drop, on the other hand, is something I have to work up to. I don't fear heights, but do fear falling from a height, so my phobia was in full gear as I stood atop the tower, looking out across the landscape. The staff was able to put me at ease, and built trust in their ability to get me back on the ground safely. Allegan Event hosted an Elementary Team Building trip for our group of 3rd graders. I can not say enough about this group of people! They not only made sure every child made an attempt and was comfortable, but had fun! This is an event that they will always remember and it went so smoothly. We were so impressed. read more

What to expect: Climb 6 flights of stairs and then zipline 600 feet across (and back) the Kzoo River. Instead of taking stairs back down, go for the jump - it's 65 feet down to the target below. It's a slow and controlled drop - but still really scary to get my feet off the platform!! Once you jump, then it's an easy ride and no impact landing. Very little rules and safety briefing are needed - the staff gets you suited up in the harness and then they give you a quick run-down of what to do/not to do while zipping (ex. where to hold on, no running starts, no tricks, etc.) Had I not gone on a smaller scale zip line at another place last month, I would have been scared to zip across the river at this height! The resistance of the harness on zip line while standing on the platform makes the take off really easy because your feet are practically leaving the ground before you're ready to go. Beautiful scenery, helpful and well trained staff - loved the double check of the harness before taking off. The free fall drop was the biggest thrill. read more

My kids LOVED this! The zipline was my son's favorite and my daughter can't wait to jump again!

Overall good ropes course to bring my kids too but the staff was not the best. The staff was kind of slow and they just stood around and talked to each other the whole time. This one older woman was rude to me and made me and my kids uncomfortable because she was having us call her "Granny". They charge 20 dollars to zipline, it's a ripoff. You get maybe 2 minutes of actual zipline time. The rest of your time is standing around. My friends and I went across to the other tower. All of a sudden the worker who was suppose to send us back across, took off with no warning. She just left. We stood there for about 25 mintues before another worker showed up to send us back across. I noticed the employees stand around doing nothing except talking. It was so hot that day, the sun was out in full force. If you don't want sunstroke, I suggest going some place else. read more
