My first time flying... smooth coming and going! I have been eyeing this Airline for over a year now. The price for roundtrip ticket from here to Florida was unbelievable. Too good to be true type of thing. Before I decided to give them a try, a friend of mine flew with them a few times and had a few hiccups, but the flight itself, no issues. I still wasn't convinced. It wasn't until March 2018 that I saw an opp that was too good to pass up. I decided to take a trip to Florida in February 2018. I started looking at prices for roundtrip tickets... $300 and above. But I came across a flight under $150... I was like no way!!! Well the price was right and I hopped on and brought a few others with me too! We arrived at check in at ORF... we arrived about 90 minutes before take off and the line was super long to check in our bags. I'd say we spent about 10 minutes in line. Well it was our turn and our luggage was 5 pounds over the limit. In my mind I freaked out... but the employee advised it's ok this time, but be mindful coming back to make sure you are under the limit. Whewww!!! Talk about a relief! So we checked in our bags with no worries. The flight didn't take off as scheduled but take off wasn't that much off of target. The flight staff was great. The young lady that manned the speaker... she was all the way live! She cracked jokes, spoke with a jovial voice... it was almost like, "what airline am I on again" - while she was comical, she definitely had my attention. The flight was smooth... no concerns at all. I'd like to think I'll fly with them again and again! I recommend you give them a try as well. You are required to pay for checked luggage as well as an oversized carry on. And snacks on the plane are provided at a cost. While the ticket prices are cheap, they will get their money back in charging for everything else. Snacks are allowed on the plane. Seating is comfy. And they do offer seating with extra legroom for a few dollars more. Have fun and enjoy life :) read more

(7/27) First time flying Allegiant Air from ORF to JAX. I booked it because it was cheap, non-stop and a quick flight. The base price of my ticket was $50 but after choosing my seat & adding an overhead carry on bag, my total was $70. Not bad for a one way flight! 24 hours before my flight, I received the email notification to check in and download their app so I could have a digital boarding pass. The app is easy to navigate and runs smoothly. You can also change you seat and purchase carry on luggage or check in luggage for $18, oppose to $45 if you were to do it at the airport! The seats were comfy, spacious and the area was clean. Flight attendants were kind and very helpful, constantly asking if we needed anything to make our flight more enjoyable. We boarded & took off on time and landed earlier than planned. I would definitely recommend Allegiant Air for short non-stop flights! While they are a low budget airline, they get you to where you need to be without any hassle. *I really appreciated the fact that they warned us passengers before approaching turbulence. It was nice to expect it rather than being flown straight through it and freaking out. Tip: bring a hoodie or jacket because they keep the airplane really cold! Allegiant Air is the New York China Bus of the sky- cheap and kinda dirty and not really reliable. Oh and communication is awful. So as with all budget air lines, you're gonna save a lot of money on your airfare but pay for it in other ways. Wanna bring a carry on? Pay for it! Want a snack? Pay for it! Wanna recline your seat? Oh you can't do that. The only way I agreed to flying one of these airlines is if it was a direct flight cause I ain't chancin it with missing a connection to my destination. So my hubby and I booked RT flights to Ft. Lauderdale from Norfolk for about $120 each. +$40 for me since I brought a carryon. No big deal since it's still cheaper than other airlines. Make sure you pay for these charges online before you get to the airport cause the price they charge is ridiculous! Even just to print a copy of your ticket at the airport is $5, lol wtf. Just screenshot it on your phone and it works fine. The flight itself was whatever, I just was praying that we would get to our destination SAFELY and that our flights wouldn't get canceled. Going to and from FLL were delayed but coming back to ORF was awful. No gate agent, no communication, nothing. A 4 hour delay is pretty brutal when there's nothing to do in the airport and nobody is telling you what's going on. They at least gave us food vouchers for a grand total of $8 each.... "but make sure you come back at 9PM because that's when we will board." what time was it when she made the first announcement for vouchers? 8:45!!!! Come on....... The sad part is that I've talked to a few other Allegiant passengers who said they had great experiences and would fly again. If you plan to flying with them, make sure your travel plans are flexible to accommodate any delays! read more

These pieces of shit ruined my honeymoon. Weeks after booking they changed my flight from 3pm to 9am. This is a Sunday flight and there are no other flights until Thursday. Laughable that they are this terrible. I hope they go out of business soon. How the hell do you expect people to change their itinerary by more than 6 hours?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! After a couple of "whoosahs " and deep breaths, I decided to post a review of what I believe to be a failed attempt by Allegiant Airlines at establishing a long term customer over one damaged piece of luggage. Long story short: I recently returned from a flight with Allegiant on 8/4/19 from Ft. Lauderdale Florida to Norfolk, VA and upon claiming my luggage from baggage claim, I noticed a large tear on the outside of my suitcase. I initially looked for some assistance near baggage claim but frankly was too tired to roam the whole airport for help(6am flight). I returned home and posted on Facebook my displeasure about my luggage. Not knowing the "time restrictions "on reporting my claim, I waited a couple of days before attempting to submit my claim for reimbursement on the website. This is when I discovered that I only had a 4 hour time limit to submit my claim! I submitted it anyway and was informed by Allegiant that due to me submitting the claim late, I would not be reimbursed! One: 4 hours? Really? I slept at least 6 hours upon my return home. Two: Initial claim from a first time passenger should be given the benefit of the doubt. (Something to the effect like we will honor this claim but going forward you only have a 4 hour window in which to submit any future claims) While my flying experience was delightful, my baggage experience was and is a nightmare. read more

I was stranded in the airport for 8 hours waiting on a delayed flight meanwhile Delta and American Airlines are still going. They cancelled the flight within enough time that there were no more. The help team over the phone has terrible customer service and no empathy. This was my first time attempting to fly and I will NEVER EVER fly Allegiant and everyone that I know as well as the person that told me to book through this airline will know what a terrible experience I had. 8 hours, two Uber's, lost time from work, and I couldn't get my money back from my reservation in Florida and have to spend hours on the phone with rude people in their call centers. Allegiant cares nothing about its passengers, people or ensuring customers receive what they pay for. I am very disappointed with the airline and find it hard to understand why anyone would want to fly with Allegiant when they treat people like they don't matter. I can't begin to express how disappointed I am. I understand cancellations happen but the way this was handled was and is inconsiderate. read more

If I could read this airline a zero I would. They claim to have the lowest fares but end up scamming you on their baggage fees. I have never had to pay for a carry-on bag. If I would have known if they would charge for a carry-on bag I could have paid for at the time of booking which would have been anywhere between $10-$25 but now I will end up paying $50 for a carry-on bag. We flew out of CVG Friday morning to Norfolk. Flight was on time and plane very clean and roomy. My mother in law left her wristlet on the plane with her I'd and phone. We did not know till we were out of the airport. I called her phone and left a message if anyone found her wristlet. Pam the best flight attendant called me back and told me she'd drop off the wristlet at airport police. We had her son pick it up and sent it overnight. Otherwise she would not be able to fly home. Don't plan to fly Allegiant unless you're on a short trip with little or no baggage. Their "cheap" prices don't show all of the hidden costs. Most airlines have. 50 lb weight limit, Allegiant uses 40 lbs. My bag as OK leaving Norfolk, but the same bag, with less luggage was over weight in Jacksonville and cost $50. When we arrived the luggage was missing its tag and the handle was ruined. They require a 4 hour report for damage, but nobody was at the counter and their customer service had a 45 minute wait and a lousy menu. I've tried multiple times to reach them with no success. The web site is no better. In short, you get what you pay for and absolutely no more! They will be my last choice in the future since customer service seems to be their last priority! read more

Ok guys. If you know the plane isn't going anywhere don't board passengers since the AC does not work while we all sit and cook. There are small children on the plane getting fussy. No need to bake us. Please consider what you desire? Sitting in AC airport while plan is repaired or in non AC plane. Bad decision!! read more
