I used this airline very frequently when I lived in Orlando, Florida and would fly up to Chattanooga, Tennessee to visit my mother, my late sister, and my younger brother. I usually was able to book flights for $29 - $49. Most expensive was $99, although that was 5 days before Christmas. Cheapest? $17!!! Since I kept clothes at my mother's house too, I frequently would just fly carry-on so I didn't have to bring checked luggage. The only aspect I didn't like? The seats were a bit small and uncomfortable, especially for a guy my size, although what do you expect for said price? All in all, not a bad airline! read more

Wow I just have an encounter with one of the rudest and condescending airline customer service call center agent I have ever experienced. To preface this, I am a personal and business traveler that flies an average of 4 times a month for the last 12 years on various airlines, my background stems from the service industry, and I'm not a complainer and normally move calmly about my day. But tonight 4/7/26, approximately 10p CST Angel, ID#UW9P (the only information he provided) from Allegiant Airlines was the rudest, most arrogant, unhelpful, obnoxious piss-poor customer service representative I have ever encountered. Now I know you get what you pay for, so maybe it is what it is but I had to make a change to a flight. But even a budget airline should have moderate service experiences. I call in, wait on hold for almost an hour, to have an encounter with this capital A-hole took me over the top. During the wait, about 45 minutes in, I change the ticket on the app but the price seemed a bit off, so I wanted to speak with an agent. To my luck I received Angel, who apparently was having a bad day and wanted to use me for some get back. I simply explained the situation and asked could did I complete the transaction correctly and could anything be done about the up charge. I simple explanation and a kind I'm sorry but it would not allow me would have been the end of it. However this guy insinuates I am idiot for making the call and I was wasting his time. Nonchalant and low key disrespectful. Just to make sure it was not just me over reacting, I stated that yes I do understand but sometimes agents have the power to help in these cases as my mistake was keystroke error but I understand if you can not. Whoa that opened up belittling and down talking like i had a lack of understanding of the terms and conditions. I told him i waited for an hour on this call, he said oh well some people wait 4 hours. I asked him his name and he didn't want to give it to me. I pressed him for it and then he said Angel sharply, and I asked for his last name, he said i can't give that out, I asked for his identification code for work since I can't have your last name, he ramble a number, I told him I didn't understand, he said so you have a problem understanding English, I asked for his supervisor, he said no, then he said he didn't have a supervisor, then he asked why I wanted to speak to his supervisor? I told him with a condescending tone to relay to him the great job your doing, he accurately called me a liar twice. I asked to be transferred several times and then he hung up on me. A survey came on and I gave him all zeros! I didn't feel that was enough so I decided to leave a review. I was so pissed I ended up calling back to leave a formal complaint over the phone. I waited 30 more minutes just to tell someone. However, the person that answered was kind and directed me to the website as they were only customers service. I wish Angel had that representative's training. I hope you find my call and review it. I don't wish him terminated as every one needs a job but his actions once reviewed will lead to that determination, it was that bad! read more

Heed the warnings - the money saved on this joke of an airline is simply not worth it. On-time flights are the rare exception, not the rule. Your flight is guaranteed to be delayed, if not cancelled. My son and his friends had reservations in Las Vegas from Thursday-Sunday. Two hours before their departure out of Stockton, they received a notification that their flight was cancelled. Not wanting to lose out on the money they spent on the hotel, they scrambled and found a flight on Southwest out of San Francisco. They piled in and rushed to get to SFO on time, hoping that their return flight would at least be safe. No such luck. Again, a couple of hours before their 1:00 departure, a notification arrived saying the flight was delayed. Ok, fine - they could handle a one-hour delay. HA! By 4:00 they were finally told they could board. And there they stayed, parked on the tarmac for another THREE HOURS. No one seemed to be able to tell them how long the delay would be, or if the flight would be cancelled. The staff tried to appease them by passing out expired snacks. It was over 100 degrees outside and close to that inside the plane with no AC. To say that everyone was miserable and cranky would be an understatement. You might save a few dollars, but you will pay for it with grief and stress. It's frustrating for those of us in the Central Valley that the closest airport contracts with this garbage airline. Look, I know many of you are thinking to book a flight on this airline. Its "low fares" are tempting, right? Budgets are tight, I know. You will dream of all the things you will buy with the money you "save" by not booking a flight with those "greedy" legacy airlines. But, before you hit that "buy" button I suggest you listen to the Kenny Rogers song, "The Gambler." As he sings, "you never count your money while it is sitting on the table...:" Let me tell you my story. I booked Allegiant flight 119 from Oakland to Las Vegas, departing at 2:32 PM. My $$ "savings" dancing before my eyes (!!). I figured that, even if the flight was delayed a bit, I would still arrive early enough to be able to get a seat at my favorite restaurant and even see a show! I paid in advance for 2 nights at a 5-star hotel with all the money I was "saving" by flying Allegiant. Fool! At 12 PM on the day of the flight I get a txt message from Allegiant saying the flight was delayed until 3:30. Ok, a bit inconvenient, but still manageable. But then, over the course of the next 7 hours, the messages kept coming. Three-thirty became 4:30. Then 5, 6:30, 7:30...9:15! WTF??!! I tried calling customer service to find out what was going on. Joke, anyone? Seventy five minutes on the phone with a musical recording. Fool! Then, at 9 PM, after sitting in the airport for over 7 hours, Allegiant cancelled the flight. I called the hotels in LV and begged them for a refund (on non-refundable reservations). Fortunately, they relented. And...I learned a "painful" lesson: "Don't count your money..." Avoid becoming a Fool. Don't fly this airline. Read the other reviews on here. Please, take my advice. Update: Allegiant has mailed me a check for $175 as "compensation" for the cancelled flight. For that $175 I spent 7 hours sitting in the airport waiting for them to actually decide to cancel the flight. Not to mention driving time to OAK, gas, bridge tolls, and cost to park my car. If this was a one-off type incident I might be able to forgive Allegiant. However, judging by other comments here on Yelp this is a too-frequent occurrence with this Airline. They really soak you on the surcharge for luggage/seat assignment. Makes the cost of a ticket comparable to other airlines. On my flight to Las Vegas I used the hotel option at Caesars Palace. The reservation said Julius Deluxe Room. At the Hotel they did the "you've been upgraded to the Nobu hotel" within the complex. Nobu has a separate lobby that is tiny. At 4:00pm (check in time), the room was not ready. They had to call me 2 hours later to let me know it was ready. The room was nice, but just nice, nothing special. The reservation had a king size bed, we got 2 queens. Room had a "lovely" view of a roof from a conference area. The staff at Nobu were very helpful and friendly. I complement them for their service. I feel this is a classic "bait and switch" tactic. DO NOT use the Air/Hotel option. Book separate. They should have been upfront about the room you really get. read more

On this airline actually let an elderly passenger spend the night in the airport all alone in a wheelchair due to their lack of staff for a flight. No one ever apologizes for any inconvenience they cause and act like you owe them for just existing. What has this industry come to when there is no longer any respect for the customer? I needed a last minute flight to Las Vegas and this airline came up from my search results. I thought to myself, "never heard of it, but how bad can it be?". If you're thinking the same thing, behold, I will share it to you. The check-in - it went smooth here as the airline has a mobile app you can use to do this The boarding process - they actually verify the group number on your boarding pass The flight - in the first 30 mins, we didn't fly as we apparently had a mechanical problem and they needed a part that needs to be delivered. Fine, but why let us board? The crew didn't turn on the AC until after 1 hour (everyone was sweating and some were trying to get near the door). They finally turned it on for 5 mins (and off again) when it looked like they've received the part they needed. The part didn't work so they can't turn on the engine. After a grueling 1.5 hours, we got off the plane (de boarded). They only offered free sodas (crazy). Delays - for the entire night and they decided to cancel the flight until the next morning. As for me, I decided to cancel my vacation, but a lot of people were buying really expensive flights near the end. They will barely help you. Choose a different airline next time (pay a bit more) so this doesn't happen to you. Is this a real airline? I booked a ticket for my nephews 6th Birthday - They canceled my flight two days beforehand out of JFK. 2 days! The cost of a ticket to fly into Asheville or surrounding cities was insane. They provided me with some kind of points and directed me to another city that was about 2 hours away from Asheville that had some flights. I'm not having my brother driving in the car for 4 some hours to pick me up and bring me back to Asheville with a 5 year old...Last minute. No way. They are terrible and I've heard from MANY others never to use them. Where do I start? To be honest I'm not a big fan of Oakland International Airport. I try to stay away from this airport at all costs. If need be, the only airline I would fly from there is Allegiant Airlines. In my opinion, the most decent airline company to serve Oakland. The Airline is very prompt and I always get a classy mood from staff members when I fly with them. I wish Allegiant would provide more flights all week around but I guess its due to demand as this airline only operates on certain routes on certain days. I like how we're flying on their all airbus fleet as the aging MD-80's are mow retired. The only downside I can say to the average flyer is that this is a budget airline and you'll have to pay for additions like baggage to seat assignments. I highly recommend you consider this with an open mind before getting upset with the airline on why there are so many fee's. Cost was definitely a factor when choosing this airline alone with destination as only few flights land where we were going. None the less there are positives and some big negatives to choosing this airline. Like a fee for checked baggage and an additional fee if you decide to take a carry-on. But wait, just read the review and you'll see there is more. Now my 2 star review is based on a recent experience with Allegiant flying out of Oakland. The plane was due to depart at 7am with boarding at 6am. None of which occurred at the specified time. Boarding didn't commence till roughly 6:45am. All the while the reason from the attendant was the plane was parked at the wrong gate and the plane was being "groomed". I can somewhat understand if the plane was parked at the wrong gate as that may have been an airport issue but the information about grooming I find rather hard to believe especially when boarding and seeing the plane very dirty. Other reviews had complaints about babies on the plane crying or items of that nature. How is this a factor for the airline to control? It's not, but some items like providing water without cost is. $2 for a soda/water bottle and of course it's card only. With what they're charging for the baggage how and why would you not at least offer water? Mind you if you're a frequent flyer, majority of people will have a water bottle already with you which makes it not a huge issue but for others it could cause problems especially on longer flights. Seats are exactly what they are designed to do which is a place to sit and provide a secure spot in case of an emergency but comfort was not as much part of the design more than the fore mentioned. These are older planes so what more could you expect from it. Certainly not a plush seat like you would find on newer airplanes. The last issue on my review is the service given by the flight attendants. This was seriously a 50/50 of good and bad. 2 attendants seemed very happy and eager to answer questions and help passengers. However 2 attendants seemed to have a chip on their shoulder and looked more annoyed to have to assist passengers vs sitting down and doing nothing. You get what you pay for so depending on what you're looking for (economy or comforts) be sure to take the time and research what you're buying (flying) into. Allegiant may be cheaper than other airlines but the additional fees combined with the lack of service may make it not worth the savings. read more

Typically not a normal route I would use when flying into the Bay Area but Allegiant Airlines is one of my favorite airlines to fly with! Not only does this airline represent my hometown of Las Vegas but I enjoy the service this airline provides! The staff and crew are very friendly towards senior citizens which is a plus! I never feel abandoned nor feel old! The crew ensured I made it down the jet way on a wheel chair and to my seat! My other main carriers I normally fly with is United Airlines which is a star alliance member or Frontier Airlines. My normal routes are from Las Vegas to Sacramento or San Francisco. Of course Allegiant offers flights to Oakland so I couldn't resist. LAS-OAK was delightful for a morning flight. The only downside is that I'm not a big fan of Oakland international airport as there's lots of crime and the airport isn't really up to par like it's nearby sisters. I HIGHLY recommend flying in the morning and not at night for security purposes. read more

Allegiant Airlines is one of my favorite airlines to fly with! Not only are they my official hometown airline ( Las Vegas ). It's only once in a blue moon when I'd actually fly out of Oakland International but that's a rare thing for me. Allegiant Airlines is the only airline I would fly with from this airport. I've experienced very rude services from Spirit and JetBlue. Not sure what was going on with those airlines. The team at Allegiant Airlines are very friendly and pro military. There's such a sense of " hello, I'm glad you're here! " This is a budget airline so please beware that you'll practically have to buy everything from seat assignments to bags. Overall it is a good bargain if you plan accordingly. I love how Allegiant utilizes an all airbus fleet now. Most are second hand from RyanAir or Cebu Pacific but still in great shape! STAY AWAY. 4 & 5 hour delay on both flights then cancelled -dangerous. only few planes and most with mechanical issues We took a round trip flight with this airline from Phoenix-Mesa to Oakland. The first flight was delayed 4 hours and there was no rep on the gate at all. We were informed of delay by SMS. Finally an airport rep came to Inform us. Airline employee showed 30mins before boarding, no apologies. Return flight was delayed 5 hours out of Oakland - well might be cancelled as I am still awaiting to board. People were all outraged and swore not to fly again with this airline. Update: our return flight was cancelled until next day at 12. Then delayed another 3 hours and still waiting. I usually travel with Allegiant and really like them until having to talk with the customer service agents. Our flight was cancelled twice and we had to extend our stay for 6 extra days. Causing us to have over $2,500 in additional expenses. Trying to get an agent at all will leave you hanging for hours, I was in the Que for over 4 hours, stood at the airport line for over 3 on the first cancelation! The agent's are rude and very disrespectful! I understand they would not give us any vouchers since the 1st cancelation was due to weather. But the 2nd cancelation was due to Air Traffic Controllers. When I asked to be compensated for the ground transpiration only they wouldn't do anything. I have been with other airlines that would have compensated as well as give me room and board! People coming into the plan tripped over my feet. When they closed the front door it hit my leg. I was also afraid for my fingers. Excellent customer service. A good indicator that the workers did a good job is when you arrive late and you're not especially bitter at the airline. Oakland to Las Vegas: arrived almost 4 hours late due to weather problems. Horribly tired and frustrated on arrival. But the airline employees, despite all the problems, did a good job keeping us all safe and sane. Las Vegas back to Oakland: airplane take off almost 2 hours late due to Airline problems this time. But the gate agent did a fantastic job keeping everyone up-to-date with frequent announcements. Once we were ready to board there was a mechanical problem. But this Airlines is obviously used to dealing with many mechanical problems, so they went into action fast and moved us to another airplane at another gate. It's unfair to rate this Airline with the same standard with an airline such as United. My round trip from Oakland to Las Vegas wise for about half what I would have paid on United or Delta. Booked flight to Belleville which was home until last year. I have a registered certified service dog. I have flown with him on Allegiant before. I have been told at the first time I registered him to fly on Allegiant, I do not have to register him anymore. I was told the same thing by American Airlines. Allegiant even took all my paperwork from me back in September 2020. I had to get more copies because of that. Well, this year, in June 2, at the gate I was told he couldn't go on, they had changed the rules. I had to re-register him because Allegiant did not allow free Emotional Therapy dogs. I explained to her he's not an emotional therapy dog, he is a Service Dog. She asked what Service he did. I told her, he barks at me if I'm about to go manic, in mania because I'm bipolar. She tells someone on the phone he' stops my panic. I said, not panic manic, there's a big difference. She fails to tell the person on the phone. At this time I pull out all my paperwork, even my psychiatrist letter. She shoves it all away. Next she said I would have had to register him 48 hours ago. I say How was I to know this? He's already registered. NO HE NEEDS TO BE RE-REGISTERED because of the new rules! I ask why I wasn't notified this. She says they send out emails I open my iPhone and show her all my emails from Allegiant . All there are are emails of ads to buy more tickets to other places And then the check in email, on may 31 telling me to check all my information There, on that page, already past 48 hours, is the new rules . She knows exactly where it was, apparently it's a new thing to do to service dogs, get you to the gate and deny Well, below that sentence of the 48 hour rule is another paragraph stating if you have not been aware of the change within 48 hours of flight, bring your paperwork to the gate with the dog. Here I am. I'm told no. I knew prior to 48. I did not. Here is the email. No By now they are locking the door We are out of the flight . The whole time my husband is asking for an Allegiant manager. Flight delayed. This is the 3rd pushback. Flight 1030 from oak to vgs. They offered drinks and pretzels but that does not make up for lost time. NOTE TO CORPORATE: You all need to realize that Vegas is more than just a party destination. It has become a mega enterprise for businesses. I including orher passengers have business meetings or appointments. My appointment is open as long as I make it by 5pm, after that it's a waste of my time and money. I really love allegiant for the conveiance of the small airport near my house. But now I have lost any value in the company. It will cost me money I cannot get back because of the hotel I scheduled around the flight. Looks like I am flyging with delta. Even for a larger price. Yuck. My husband had a flight here last week. His original flight time was schedule for 8:55 pm. He was continually delayed until finally at 1 am they said they had to cancel the flight and move it to the following day. They moved from gate to gate several times during the delays. He got home around 2 am and his new scheduled flight was scheduled for 12pm the following day. He arrived back at the airport 10:30 am the following day but the check in wasn't open until almost 11 am. He got into the airport and found his flight delayed yet again until 3:30pm... The customer service desk said travel/hotel vouchers were available. He asked them about reimbursement because he paid an Uber to go back home and to the airport again.. they gave him a number to call and said they couldn't help him at the airport end of things... The length of delays is pretty ridiculous. Especially because the plane was there since 9pm the previous night but was still delayed until 3:30pm the following day. Their prices are the lowest you can get but are not reliable at all. If you fly with them beware your flight may not get in when it's scheduled to get in. read more

I bought a ticket for my mom on this airline because they're the only airline that flew to her destination non-stop. The plane was delayed for 7 hours without explanation. Purchased a front row seat, she was moved and man set in her reserved spot. He had 3 seats to himself and his computer. Upon landing to her detestation (7 hours late) She asked prior for a wheelchair. She was left sitting in the wheelchair, even after the plane had departed with a whole crew. The assistant disappeared. Only plus was a $50 voucher but because this was a bad first expeirence there's no way sh will fly that airline again. read more
