This JSX location has an abundance of seating. There is a main seating area with couches and chairs. There are free snacks and drinks like sodas water and coffee or tea chips pretzels fruit snacks etc. There are also comfy benches in the hall by the bathroom as well as another lounge tucked off around the corner. Lighting was well lit but not too bright. You can arrive up to 20 minutes prior to your departure time. Just show your ID and drop your bags. Upon departure show your ID and boarding pass and get on the plane Jane. My knees are greatly appreciative of the ramp. Great value for the price and with the convenience of stress free arrival and boarding. Side note; if you're used to flying first class commercially the seats are a bit smaller width wise but still very comfy. The flight attendants were wonderful and we enjoyed the complimentary drinks and snacks onboard. If you have some extra duckets I'd say to try it at least once. read more

Very hit or miss with these guys, and you might as well assume you're going to have a delay, at least leaving Oakland for Vegas. But having spent time in their waiting room a fair bit, it seems like more than just Vegas destinations are delayed. What's annoying is how cagey and vague the staff always in about how long the delay will be, so you're kinda trapped in the terminal. And their website is useless in this regard. On the plus side, the planes and flights are great, no middle seats, and not tooooo expensive if you can wait for their "red stripe" sales and be flexible about your travel plans. They're not even close to Southwest for cost or convenience, but you get what you pay for as they say. Now that SWA is charging for bags, the price gap is narrowing a little, since JSX allows three free bags per passenger. read more

We flew charter on JSX to Vegas. Tickets are a bit more but the ease of not going to the regular airport is a bonus. You pull up and they valet your car which is also nice. The staff checking in was very friendly. No waiting to go through security which is another huge bonus. The lounge was nice. There was free coffee and hot chocolate. The planes are smaller but really nice. The flight attendant brought free drinks and snacks quickly and there is also free WiFi. My only complaint was that our flight was an hour and a half late but you could possibly get that at any airport. Side bar, we still enjoyed the experience but our flight back was delayed 3 times. Ended up leaving 4 hours later than our scheduled time. If and when we fly again we will make sure we don't have plans the day we fly. read more

Very limited flights, but expanding as we speak. Direct flights to the "local" places I visit, so I am happy. Carry on was waiting for me when I landed, taking less than a minute to grab my bag and go. Uber comes directly to where we are, no need to walk through an entire airport. Pet friendly, I believe there is an extra charge, check their website. Price - $325 round trip. Approximately double what Southwest airlines charges, but worth it. Owner Suggestion - Congrats on all your success since 2016. This might be my new form of travel... Not happy to pay extra for seat assignments. I prefer that you just raise the price, which most of us are willing to pay versus feeling "nickled and dimed". I don't want to ever fly on the regular airlines again. I'm very fortunate that the flight I need most often, Oakland-Phoenix, is one of their routes. My dad lives in the Phoenix area and has been having a lot of medical issues. So I get the call that he's in the hospital and I have to go. When you travel like that, booking the same day as travel, Southwest and the other airlines usually have fares that are within $40 of the JSX fare, and quite often they're the same. Obviously if you can plan ahead, you'll save $$, but honestly it's not that much and the value of being able to get to the JSX lounge just 20 minutes prior, not have to go through TSA, and just hand your bag to the person when you check in is worth every cent. When I'm trying to get to the hospital, every minute counts. And then when you're on the plane, it's so nice not to be smooshed in between people and with 150 other people. The planes hold 30 passengers, and I've been on flights with as few as 11. There's one flight attendant and each one has been extremely friendly. The first flight I ever took, there were 3 big dogs on the flight and you were never know it, as they are able to sit in the seat well beneath the extra seat the owner buys for them. I cannot wait to bring my 52 lb dog on a flight one day. This is unheard of on the other airlines...only the little dogs in carriers get to ride on flights. Meh. Yay JSX for realizing that big dogs CAN be good passengers! Anyway, I will choose JSX every time I'm able...no question. read more

Just flew Las Vegas to Oakland for the first time on this airline. Very positive experience overall. 1. The app is easy to use. Download, sign up and you're ready to go. 2. The terminal experience is so much better. You don't have the crush of cars dropping off and picking up at the curb. 3. The gate is easy. All the things other Yelpers say about security and checking in are true. Very simple. I enjoyed the free coffee machine, and the lounge was comfortable. 4. The aircraft is relatively new and space. My husband and I were looking forward to traveling JSX with our dog to visit my family for the holidays - but JSX sadly completely ruined our plan. Because the holidays are a busy time, I booked our flights months in advance and then over time started getting texts that our flights were changing. To be clear, we selected our flight days because the flights needed to be on those specific days. Without any warning or consultation our return flight was pushed by four days. I called to have that resolved and was able to move back to our original date, after hours on the phone. Silly me, I thought the issue was resolved. I was wrong. A week before our flight I received a message that our return flight had been canceled outright. I called to try to rectify that and the soonest they could rebook us was EIGHT days after our original flight date. I don't know what traveler is able to change the days of their trip by adding eight days, but it's not us. I do not trust JSX, I do not think they are reliable and until they either grow and establish themselves more or I see some very consistent changes and result, I don't see us trusting or using them any time soon. 10/10 would not recommend. read more

Flew JetSuiteX on my most recent trip to Vegas from Oakland. Currently, JetSuite only flies from a few locations which are all within 1-2 hours (they have seasonal locations.) JetSuiteX has a private terminal off most of the airports. What I liked most about flying JetSuite was the semi-private jet experience which made checking in, boarding, and the overall trip so easy! You avoid the chaos of long TSA lines, crowds, and the possibility of even losing your luggage. There is a lounge equipped with snacks, drinks, tables, couches, and plenty of outlets while you wait for your flight. They recommend you arrive 20-30 minutes before your flight, which at a normal airport would be SUPER late. I don't think there is a limit for liquids and you don't have to remove shoes/jackets - nada. Your luggage is checked in for you and is ready for you right when you step out of the plane. Everything was a breeze! The jet seats about 30 people with the option of single seats or pairs. You don't have to worry about sitting in between someone, woo! Lots of leg room and power outlets. So many snack options and complimentary cocktails, spirits, and wine available during the flight. The only issue I had with my first time flying JetSuite was the delay in our flight and the obvious lack of attention to the cleanliness of the lounge. The announcement that our flight was going to be delayed (for an extra hour) was made very late (would've been nice to maybe get an email beforehand too?). The lounge was pretty messy.. empty cups, plates, crumbs on the floor - not sure why the staff didn't find it necessary to maintain a clean, appealing environment to its customers. Okay. I've avoided writing a review on JSX out of pure selfishness. This is my preferred mode of air travel and I didn't want anyone to know. But alas, it seems the secret is out. I'm sorry Yelpers for holding out! JSX used to be called Jetsuite, but rebranded as JSX in early 2019. They fly Embraer planes that hold 30 passengers, making this a semi-private airline experience. They used to have limited routes between Vegas, Burbank and the Bay Area. But now, they have more routes to Seattle, Arizona and Orange County California. I fly primarily out of Oakland to either Burbank or Vegas. The extra cost is worth it to me because I've turned into an air traveler prude. This wasn't intentional mind you. It just happened without me consciously knowing it. I like walking on the tarmac and getting special treatment simply because I've chosen to spend more money in this mode of transportation. It's a commentary on our social norms really and I'm definitely self-evaluating myself as I write this. There are issues only an air traveling snob would recognize. The snacks were out at the Oakland terminal once. And there isn't free parking anymore at the Oakland location. And they moved the check-in at the front, creating a bottleneck sometimes that - gasp - reminds me of a regular terminal experience. Oh poor me. Cry me a river dude! There have been delays but I've always received word ahead of time. And I love the fact I can show up 20 minutes before the flight. JSX gets 5 stars for polite staff and getting me safely to my destination and that's what really counts! And this is what we should all care about dear Yelpers, regardless of what airline we fly. read more

Finally got an opportunity to fly JetSuite X. It's been on my radar, and thankfully they had a Seattle flight that worked with my schedule. Now that I know / have experienced it, I'm forever ruined when traveling to Seattle Tips: -Lounge in Oakland is decently sized, but can easily fill up with multiple flights leaving (even at 7am). Don't come hungry / expecting a ton of options. They had a few cereal options and a standard hot drink machine (chai and coffee) -Lounge in Seattle has a Cafe but doesn't seem to have any complimentary snacks or beverages? The story: This past Saturday, my husband and I had a southwest flight from OAK to Burbank at 8:25am. We paid for parking at the airport ($18) since it was a one day trip with a return on Sunday the next day. We got the airport at 7:30am, and were sitting at the gate when they delayed the flight to 9:30am. An hour later, they completely cancelled the flight due to weather-related issues, supposedly fog in the Burbank area that hadn't cleared up in time. At the same time, a bunch of Southwest flights to SOCAL also got cancelled. Commence the scramble of a ton of passengers going to the front desk trying to reschedule our socal flights to ANY socal airport, LAX, SNA, Long Beach, you name it. We were trying to get to Thousand Oaks by 3pm to get ready for a wedding at 4:30pm in Malibu - so we were on a time crunch. As we got to the SW rep, she told us the earliest flight to ANY socal airport on southwest was 4:05pm - which definitely wouldn't cut it in time for us to make it to the wedding. I checked a bunch of other airlines like United, Alaska, and American and none of them had flights that were even direct or would get us there in time. My husband drives past a huge JSX sign to work every day and we've always wanted to try it but it was always a little too pricey for us to justify, and we have the SW companion pass so it was never really considered. My husband called the JSX number where a woman IMMEDIATELY picked up, told us the Burbank flight for 10:50am still had more than 2 spots left. We quickly opened the app on my phone, booked 2 tickets (one way for $770 from OAK to BUR, quite expensive LOL but it worked), and made it to our friend's wedding RIGHT ON TIME. It was wild. We noticed a few other people did the same thing as us to get to socal in time. Pros: - Extremely easy customer service and booking process - the whole process on the app took 30 seconds - Valet parking service at the terminal 5 mins away from OAK airport, so you can drop your keys off and go - SUPER CHILL security (they basically pointed at a sign and asked if we had any of these not allowed objects and then let us through - I had a full waterbottle in my backpack that I didn't even notice until later) - Really nice lounge area to hang out in while you're waiting for your flight - at this point I was so tired from wandering around the airport and using our brain to figure out options to get to our wedding that I was relieved to sit on a couch with an outlet to charge my phone. Free Starbucks coffee provided as well - 1 carry on item only - BUT the checked bag option is so easy - they just take it from you when you check in and put it on a rack. When you get to your destination, they just take out the rack and you grab your luggage, super fast and very efficient, and helpful that you don't have to carry your heavy luggage or take it out of an overhead bin (no bins here because it's a small aircraft. - No lines - there's only 30-40 people on each flight, so it's a super quick boarding process - their sell is that you can arrive 20 mins before your flight to board and do everything in time. No TSA bull. - No lines at the bathrooms at the hangars, since there's so few people - seating arrangements - private jet vibes, it's a 1-2 setup, so super great if you're traveling either solo or with a partner. It's an extra $20 if you want to reserve your seat, which I don't recommend spending extra on. If there's extra seats on the plane after they complete their headcount, you can then move and sit anywhere there's an empty seat. - Outlets on plane - there's an outlet next to A and C seats to charge your phones, super handy - Really great service on the plane - free snacks (coopers cheese straws, snap peas, brownie brittle), free waterbottles, UNLIMITED ALCOHOL and coffee - flight attendant offered to refill my wine when she noticed it was down. - Great seats - Love that they recline further than the typical southwest seat. It offers probably 2x the amount of leg room than a regular southwest flight - but equal to the southwest window seat leg room Cons: - Since our situation was unplanned, we did have to pay $35 for valet parking overnight - I would recommend that if you're planning to take this, better to have someone drop you off or take uber. Not really walkable from OAK airport in our situation - short height in the cabins - I almost hit my head when I stood up - so be mindful if you're a really tall person! - No free wifi at the lounge or on the flight - but thankfully most flights are super short - If you're sitting in the B seat, could be awkward to have the cord going over your seatmate's lap to reach the 2nd outlet next to the C seat - wish they had the outlet on the left side of the seat instead - No in flight entertainment options (not that big of a deal if you're doing a short flight anyway) - Rental car site is available at JSX but we heard it's pricey - Price isn't for everyone, likely 2x cost of the typical SW flight read more

If you are not flying JSX, I have to assume you either don't know it exists, or you are happy with a completely inferior flying experience. Right now, nothing compares to JSX. My wife and I just completed a round-trip to Las Vegas from Oakland and both flights were absolutely flawless. We will never fly any other airline, if JSX is an option, ever again. The experience starts with arriving at the airport offsite terminal 30 minutes before your flight, and going through a 5 minute check in. Next you enjoy the lounge with complimentary coffee drinks and snacks, and then the fun begins. After being in the terminal for a mere 10 to 15 minutes, you walk a few short steps to your 30 passenger jet, settle into your comfortable seat with no one next to you, or no middle seat, waiting a few minutes before departure. After a few minutes its off to the runway and wheels up. In the air, you enjoy excellent seating, astounding service with free drinks (including alcohol) and a quiet, comfortable ride in a new jet. One of the bonuses most people might know is that they get to fly a different flight path than the major airlines which means that they will arrive 10 to 30 minutes early for a similar Southwest flight. All of this comes at a price very similar to Southwest, if not a tad bit more. But, after my description above, wouldn't you be willing to pay 50 or so dollars more each way for a flight like this? Do yourself a favor, and check out this airline. There is currently no better Flight experience in my opinion, and I do a lot of flying. This was our first time using JSX and I have some major issues with the communication. Because of the president flying into our area our flight was diverted to another airport 45 minutes away. This has now caused me to miss Meetings and to pay for an Uber to get myself back to my car. I understand things happen, but I have in writing yesterday an email from JSX saying don't worry your flight is not effected by this. I only found this out when I got to the airport. If they would have given me warning I could have changed my plans to fly into the major commercial airport in Oakland. I understand the issue, but this is bad communication. When I asked them to pay for my Uber they declined because "uncontrollable regularity." I have no idea what that means... I'm guessing this is AI? Anyways, this is far from a luxury airline. Rather this is a low cost airline using smaller airports which I guess means they are more likely to get major cancellations. I travel twice a year to Vegas and next time I will stick with Alaska. We found JSX years ago when we booked a flight on JetBlue through SNA and it was fulfilled by Jet Suite (their previous name). I can't express how happy I am to have happened upon it because it has literally changed the game of flying. Here's the service in a nutshell: JSX is an airline that flies a number of short distance itineraries on small jets that seat maybe 36ish people. (There is 2 seats on one side of the aisle and 1 seat on the other side of the aisle). Since the airline flies out of a private terminal just around the corner from busy OAK, you don't have to deal with the crazy parking situation, nor the bustling ticket area, nor the security lines nor baggage claim nor a ton of people. You can show up around 20 minutes before the flight and then you walk onto your plane where they will give you a free drink (alcoholic or non) plus some premium snacks like brownie brittle or harvest snap peas. When you land, they keep you on the plane while they take out the luggage and then you literally grab your bag as you walk into their terminal and leave. It's easy, it's convenient and it's comfortable since everyone is SO nice. This particular JSX area is in a convenient location (just down the street from the main entrance of OAK). The people at check-in are always super nice and the waiting area is a little nicer than the SNA location. They have a cute play area for kids with planes to play with and they have a fancy coffee machine (miss the donuts that they use to have pre-COVID)...but in the end, who really cares when you're only there for a few minutes? I have never tried to park here, but we did use the rental car company that is in their lobby once. It was incredibly easy. We literally walked off the plane through the doors of the lobby, right up to the kiosk, picked up keys and picked up the car just outside. We will definitely be flying with JSX out of OAK again! read more

I flew out of town for the weekend (Friday - Monday) to Las Vegas. When I arrived back to Oakland and received my car from Valet I noticed it had been driven more then 5 miles (the valet lot is across the street). I then contacted on star which I had to pay to active and it gave details that some one took.... in my eyes STOLE my car on Sunday night and was racing it up and down the street as I have a sports sedan. We just landed at Oakland JSX coming back from Burbank. This experience was worth leaving a review. As I deplaned with my 10-month-old and 2-year-old along with my husband we were greeted with our 3 checked bags, two car seats, and stroller. The upsetting part is we also had 4 - JSX staff members standing looking at us while we struggled to gather our children and make our way up to the lounge. Once we made our way into the lounge, I asked a staff member why no one was able to help us. I was told that they were management as an answer. The inflight staff was amazing and helpful but that deplaning experience was horrific. Didn't feel the whole VIP experience, to be honest, and saddened at management behavior. I wanted to love the whole experience but anyone who can see a mother struggling and not offer to help, well that speaks for itself. read more
