Went there on Tuesday night (4th) for dinner and to listen to the jazz music. We had made a reservation for 4, but when we got there they had no record of the reservation and had to sit at a table where we were away from the music and preformers. This is the second time that this place has screwed up our reservation. The previous time they gave the reserved table to someone else, eventhough we were there ahead of the reservation time. They have to get their act together on reservations. The food we had was OK, but not great. It took over 17 minutes just to have someone take our drink order. read more

My family and I came here for my little sisters 16th birthday and were sadly disappointed. The Allegro Bistro was a sad cheesy attempt at an Italian bistro. The wait staff was highly unprofessional and the terrible entertainment gave me a migraine that put my off my dinner. The food was good but not worth the horrific atmosphere. By seven pm everyone in the restaurant was acting as though they had been drinking into the late hours of the night, which only made things worse. It was a restaurant full of middle-aged couples who were drunk off of the cheap wine served. Between the terrible "singer" who was "preforming" that evening and the flat screen LCD tvs playing TLC and Food Network tv shows it was enough to turn anyone off of the food that they serve. Not even eating outside in the horrid Florida weather would get you away from the cheesy entertainment as it is louder outside than in. First time going here and I have to say it was not a good experience. After waiting for our waiter to take our drink order my wife received a short pour on her wine. When questioned the waiter said he had just run out. No offers to switch to another wine we're offered. My wife spoke with the manager who apologized and corrected the problem (he found another bottle of the wine our waiter said they didn't have.... imagine that). After this our waiter was cold and rude. A salad is not part of your dinner and food was just ok. There are better Italian restaurants in Venice. We will not be going back any time soon. Food fairly good, however we sat for almost 30" without having a waiter come to us. Finally get to order. 2.5 hours until we got/ate dinner. No one came back to the table after serving including we didn't even get asked if we wanted coffee or dessert. I recently moved from California and have to say this is by far the best Italian restaurant Ive been too. My grandparents have been coming here since they opened in 2009! I got me hooked immediately on their phenomenal food . I always order sausage and eggplant pizza, and the food comes every time to perfection. The staff is extremely friendly and always shows great hospitality. I recommend this place to anyone looking for 5 star Italian food made by real Italians. They use a stone oven that makes the perfect crust to your liking. Frank the head chef is a artist and is extremely friendly. The same can be said about the owner, Nella who treats everyone like family. Definitely come here if your in Southwest Florida , you will not be disappointed! read more

Food is prompt, delicious and they even cater to a few of my ladies who have special dietary requests! The wait staff are all polite and efficient. We LOVE Mama, Chaz and everyone at Allegro Bistro! First thing you notice walking in this beautifully appointed restaurant is the grand piano and a ginormous bar!! Two things that put me and my guest in a good mood. From the appetizers to the wine presentation and the actual meal,everything was first class. We had bruscetta(which is hard to mess up)but the eggplant was absolutely done to perfection. We can't omit the pleasant and attentive service and a personal visit from "mama" Nella herself. Her family owns the original Valenti's right down the street,but this version is way more interesting in menu,preperation ,and ambience.... especially the live jazz that was being performed that evening. Not worth the trouble. Mediocre food at best. Service is slow and the menu is not very creative. Beer selection is nothing special. Seats are uncomfortable, especially after an hour of sitting in them. Pasta dishes seemed pricey. $5.00 seemed like a lot to add chicken to a pizza. read more

I would reduce this to 0stars if I could due to a lack of response I had dinner with a friend the other evening, it was my second time eating here. The first time I had pizza and it was very good However, this time we were very very disappointed! We both had pasta, mine was with a Russian sauce that was tasty but had pizza sausage as its base. My friend has lemon chicken pasta, the pasta was under cooked and the Chewy rubbery chicken was boiled and tossed on top. When I asked about the pizza pasta, I was told they did not know and made no effort address my issue ie a discount a comp desert. Server was nice but management did not empower her to make sure clients were happy. read more

Went to Allegro Bistro with a party of 4 and reservation on a Tuesday. We were seated in a very crowded and fully occupied section of the restaurant. It took nearly 15 minutes before anyone acknowledged our presence at the table. I finally went to the bar to get drinks. Someone gave us 2 glasses of water and again we did not see our waiter until he came to the table and said, you better order now or it will be at least an hour wait. We ordered and our food came quickly. Food was prepared well, and music was great but it was so noisy it was impossible to have a conversation with our friends. Great find, I am a part-time Florida resident and this is definitely one place I will always come back to. Arrived late on Wednesday afternoon so not very busy at all, ordered the ahi tun salad for an appetizer, it was more of a meal, tuna was so fresh, with greens and tomatoes. Very fun atmosphere, decor is unique and noise level was light, reminder it was late afternoon. Service was outstanding everybody was friendly and went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable since I was dining alone. I also ordered takeout which did not disappoint. No question the food was very good, but not worth the pain. The service was uniformly awful. It took ten minutes for someone to come and seat us, and that was the highlight of our two hour ordeal. Another ten minutes for our server to make his first appearance, then another ten to deliver our drinks and it seemed like twenty more before he took our order. My family and I were visiting from California and wanted to have some Italian pizza. We walked in and were doubly surprised at the ambience. The food was incredible and the entertainment even better. The music was wonderful to listen to but we couldn't stay at our table any longer and had to join the youthful crown out on the dance floor. My son's are 13 years old and 11 years old and they even wanted to take their mom for a spin on the floor. It touched my heart to see my 18-year-old daughter get escorted to the floor by each of her brothers because they couldn't sit down when they heard The wonderful trio serenading them to the floor. We come once a year to Florida and will definitely make sure to come back to Allegro Bistro on Friday or Saturday night for wonderful evening of dinner and dancing. read more

Had a reservation for 6:30. They took 15 minutes to seat us, even though the restaurant was empty. Waiter eventually took our order and then we waited another 45 minutes for our food to arrive. When we questioned our waiter ( Eric) he said they were very busy. The dinner napkin at my seat had sauce stains on it, I had to ask Eric 3 times for a clean napkin. Atrocious service! We had a large party for lunch and it took a half an hour just to get water. One member of our party didn't get her food until everyone had FINISHED their food, she said to just bring it to go and the waitress brought it out with a box! Ummmm hello ..... Everyone has already eaten and now she had to box her meal that she never even ate! And the waitress never even apologized, no I'm sorry for not getting you food while your party of 21 has already eaten! AND she was charged for the whole thing. Ridiculous! The food was ok, not fresh or anything acceptable. The eggplant was obviously frozen and cooked up with marinara sauce, I could have done that at home. The salad was iceberg lettuce with one wedge of tomato! That's it! Will not return - 15 minutes for the server to come take our drink order - another 15 minutes for the drinks to arrive and then part of the order was wrong. My husband finally went up to the bar and got his own drink. When we asked the server about our drink order she was very rude and blamed the other diners - who were also waiting and waiting. The entire dining room was left unattended for long periods of time. Food was average at best and server never returned to check on us or ask if we wanted more drinks or dessert.
