I've been coming to Tremont Dental for nearly a decade, and can't imagine going anywhere else. The office is exceptionally clean, comfortable, and the staff are incredibly kind. Over the past ~5 years, I have made a point to specifically schedule appointments with Cindy as my hygienist and Dr. Park as my dentist. Cindy is incredibly talented at her craft--meticulous attention to detail and extremely careful around sensitive areas. She also asks detailed questions and relays important facts to the dentist prior to the evaluation. My cleanings with Cindy are the best I've had, despite having gone to many dental practices in many different cities. She's also an incredibly kind human, and despite seeing me once/6 mos., recalls personal details about my life and follows up with thoughtful questions about family, friends, etc. She's incredibly skilled in the art of patient care and has made my bi-annual check-ups something I look forward to. As a child and young adult, I had a lot of poor dental work and, as a result, can be very nervous about the dentist. Dr. Park has been incredible at quelling those fears. She recently replaced a very deep filling I had from years past, and it was the most superb dental care I've ever received. She's flawless with the novocaine injection, using a distraction technique that completely removes any pain associated with the injection. She ensured the area was completely numb before beginning any work, and despite being near the nerve, was meticulous in removing all cavity and filling the tooth perfectly. She was patient with my fears of feeling the drill and worked at a slow pace and informed me of all the steps she was taking along the way. It takes a lot for me to trust a dentist and I trust her completely. That's also true with her regular examinations--she carefully watches for any deterioration of older fillings, but never recommends work preemptively. Dr. Park is truly a master of her craft, and I hope she will be my dentist for years to come. This is a good time to mention that since leaving Boston for NYC, I make a point to come back once every 6 mos. for my checkups--while I'm sure there are plenty of nice practices in the big apple, I can't imagine it's easy to find such a wonderful hygienist/dentist duo. I had gone to Tremont Dental Care for about ten years for all sorts of procedures and two rounds of Invisalign with a cumulative spending of well over fifteen thousand dollars. Dr. Lim installed a "permanent" retainer on my lower teeth after I finished with my last round of Invisalign and within a week it had dislodged and I swallowed it. At first Dr. Lim was hesitant to even believe me... After showing her the X-ray from my doctor she was despondent and unapologetic. Needless to say this was a horrifically unpleasant thing to go through. My husband is a partner at a global law firm and we certainly could have pursued this through the courts, but who has the time? I had been going to Tremont dental care since 2016, and am very disappointed in needing to write this. For anyone else who has had a negative experience, please be aware that The office manager will threaten to sue you for deformation if you don't remove a review. That is against yelp's policy, and your rights. I do suspect that I'm not the only one, since all of their negative reviews were taken down. I was told by The office manager if I remove my review, she would reduce the cost of my $760 bill to $500. I removed them, and got charged the full amount. Which was not the first time she gave me false information. She didn't respond to many email. If you need any kind of surgery or procedure, do NOT trust that Tremont dental care will call your insurance and discuss it. I was told incorrect information that I would be charged and my insurance would cover the rest, and ended up paying for a procedure out of pocket. My last bill clearly states that the estimated In calling my insurance, which was $330 out of a roughly 2k procedure. I sadly found out the truth and was unable to have Tremont dental to agree to a payment plan, which was great to spend during covid. Make sure to call your insurance and to potentially have to file a claim yourself for reimbursement. If you do choose to try this office out, I suggest asking for J. or G. as your hygienist. They are both very kind, and check in to see if you're doing okay. Do NOT see Anyone else. My records highlight that I was sensitive throughout my procedure, and I had previously had gum surgery on the area my hygienist was aggressively scraping. My records state that I was properly informed of what she was doing, I was not. I was in pain throughout my cleaning and she didn't stop until she almost pierced my cheek because I jumped in pain. She scolded me about that, and I refused to let her continue. I do suspect she didn't tell the full story when asked about it. After my partial cleaning, I was asked if I wanted X-rays. I declined. My gums were bleeding and inflamed, and my jaw was so irritated I had issues speaking properly for some time. I did not trust this hygienist to go near my mount. I was very nervous about my new gum graft after this, and had to come back and see the periodontist and get a secondary cleaning at a third visit. It took multiple calls to get the office manager or anyone to speak with me as I tried frantically to be seen again due to the pain. Tremont dental care does not have digital records of your medical records that you can access. I had asked for my full medical history multiple times, and was told no until I sent over highlights of HIPAA. 'With limited exceptions, the HIPAA Privacy Rule (the Privacy Rule) provides individuals with a legal, enforceable right to see and receive copies upon request of the information in their medical and other health records maintained by their health care providers and health plans.' I finally got these records mailed to me, which is why I know the breakdown of costs. read more

I have to say that everyone here, the receptionist, the hygenist, and the dentist, were all completely professional. What REALLY bothered me was the list they gave me of THOUSANDS of dollars of work they said I needed done. I've taken GREAT care of my teeth my whole life, so don't try to scare me into spending money. A less agressive approach would be much more appropriate, especially for a school teacher who doesn't have a lot of money to spend on unnecessary things. One more thing that bothered me was the way I got treated unprofessionally. I called to cancel my 6 month cleaning, as it was summer, and I was going to be traveling. They called back & took the liberty of scheduling another appointment, after I said I'd be away for the summer. The worst thing was the nasty message that was left on my phone, which made ME sound like I did something wrong. In a moment of vanity before attending a wedding, I called to schedule a cleaning and they got me in the next day! The admin was efficient and helpful, and had commendable taste in magazines. After being ushered to the back by the dentist assistant, she proceeded to gently poke, prod and scrape my chompers, chatting politely all the while. I really hate writing this review, because I was a VERY happy patient for 7 years. Last year, that changed. Without any discussion with someone in the office, I was hit with a $600 bill. When I discussed it with them, I was told my insurance wouldn't cover the procedure. When I called my insurance company, they said the claim was filed incorrectly by the office. No problem, everyone makes mistakes. But it took MULTIPLE more calls to even get them to refile the claim. I was assured that if there were any more issues, they'd call me back. Well, it looks like that was an empty gesture. I never received a call back, and I'm still on the hook for the bill. Because I don't want my credit taking a hit, I paid the bill, and I asked for the Dr. Dempsey or Dr. Park to call me back to discuss further. When I tried to call back after not hearing anything, I was hung up on. My displeasure is with the front office, not the doctors. But this is shocking. I really liked coming here, but Orlando's behavior has forced me to get care elsewhere. I still would like that call back from Dr. Park or Dr. Demspey. read more

I've been going to Tremont Dental for about 10 years now.. started in my early 30s when I worked in the Back Bay, when a friend highly recommended their practice. Their dental hygienists are very thorough, knowledgeable and welcoming. My dentist is Dr. Snow and she's wonderful - she's seen me through the good times with no cavities (yay!) and also some tough times with cavities or crowns, from my avoiding the dentist in my early years. Dr Snow is very skilled, direct and down to earth in her assessments, and enjoyable to hang with for an hour in the chair. Just today I called to understand an insurance estimate for services and Ivy walked me through the 2 complicated insurance statements to get down to exactly what it would cost and what insurance would cover. Nothing but great experiences with everyone there - highly recommend! **I even left for a year when I moved up to NH, but after searching out highly recommended local places, the experience wasn't great and I'm now happily making the drive to Tremont Dental. read more

PATIENT BEWARE i have been going to this dental practice for over 10 years. I agreed to have a new crown put in. When Dr Parc was installing the crown she had a great deal of trouble making it fit. She mentioned to me that it should have been gold as the space was so narrow. Thats the first I heard of it. After it was placed I continued to have a good deal of pain all the time and more so when I ate. This continued on for weeks when I would come in for more adjustment. I finally couldn't live like that anymore and I asked to have it removed. Dr Parc agreed and said she would refund to me half of the cost ($925.00) which I felt was fair as she had done a lot of work. I had it removed and feel like a new person. After waiting for a week I asked why the refund was applied to my credit card and Dr Parc said they had sent a check to my old address (she knew I had moved). After waiting for over 3 additional weeks I called 4 times and Dr. Parc never returned my call.I called again to say I would be contacting Attorney General and writing a review. The office mgr called back in 5 minutes and said they would issue replacement check and I said I would pick it up that day. She called back later and told me that they would have to wait for 6 months to make sure check expired. I asked why they didn't just put a stop on the check and she didn't know what to say. I asked why they just don't put the credit card credit through and she said their cc machine doesn't allow that. That is so ridiculous All credit card machines allow credits and it is obvious that the check was never sent and I have been played with for over a month. What kind of a dental office is so hard up for money they have to lie and cheat about a check in the mail? Would you trust a dentist and their suggestions for treatments that is so hard up for money? Its enough that the crown was faulty and not done properly (and most probably not required) which is why it failed; its another thing that they con their patients out of the money that they owe. I used to go to this place when I lived in SE. I stopped going there because the dentist there was not professional about how to communicate and treat their patients. Their attitude and demeanor changed abruptly after I mentioned to them about a change in my health condition. The dentist stopped shaking my hands when greeting me and saying goodbye and cut the conversation down to a minimum. I did not feel that is how a patient should be treated and moved to a different clinic. I did not experience any of this type of "special treatment" after mentioning the same information about my health. While their service can be good not great, their professional communication and behavior need significant change. read more

Keeping up my dental health is always important, but during this "age of Covid" I was nervous about having a dental cleaning. After visiting Tremont Dental this week for a cleaning, I can report that they are going a great job to keep patients safe during visits. I showed up on time for my appointment and was taken right away. Face masks are required for everyone and worn by all employees. There are Hepa filters continually cleaning the air. The hyengenist was wearing gloves, 2 masks, a face shield, and a smock - fully protection for her and me. I'm glad I went and had a great visit! read more

In the past year I've visited Tremont dental numerous times for different procedures including a cleaning, a filling, a crown, and most recently to begin invisalign treatment. The reception staff is amazing - Friendly, responsive, and knowledgeable. They've always answered my emails in a timely manner, and when visiting I'm always greeted with a smile. I also have a habit of "dropping in" to ask questions and they are always super helpful. Dr. Song does a great job at making me feel comfortable during my visits and he's always smiling! Since switching to Tremont Dental, I no longer have those pre dental visit jitters and anxiety! If you live in the Boston area and want to have an enjoyable dental experience, check this place out! I knew I was in the right place as soon as I met Jo, the hygienist, for my first cleaning appointment. She is friendly, kind, warm and knowledgeable. I was at ease with her immediately, which was a great feeling because I generally dread going to the dentist. Both Dr Dempsey and Dr Park came in to meet me during that appointment because Jo wanted me to meet them in person since I'd be seeing them both in the future. I have since seen both Dr Dempsey (Periodontal Care) and Dr Park and both are incredibly friendly, break down their expertise into terms that I can understand and make me feel comfortable with the care that they are providing. If you plan on going to Tremont Dental you better not be late or worse cancel you appointment at a late notice. However, Tremont Dental can cancel your appointment at the last minute without taking into consideration your circumstances. After moving from Boston to Providence I continued to go to Tremont Dental. They are super efficient and will send many, many notifications to you including calling to make sure you will be at your scheduled appointment. I had a 10:00 AM appointment on April 13, 2022 and paid to take the commuter rail from Providence to Boston at 8:15 AM. I got to the Canton station in MA and received a text, (after sending in the Covid screening form) that the appointment was canceled due to the hygienist who was not going to be in. I explained I was already on the train and could another hygienist perform the cleaning. I was told there were no available appointments and can reschedule for another appointment with the next two weeks. Ok, but what irked me is that if I had an emergency and could not make the appointment at the last minute they have a strict policy that states: "Please note there is a $50 fee ($100 for a 2 hours appointment) for missed appointments or cancellations that are made less than 48 hours in advance". What about the customer who gets their appointment cancelled? The policy is one sided as in "do what I say and not as I do." They told me I would not be charged when I mentioned this policy which is laughable. They hound you to make sure you will keep your appointment and threaten cancellation fees but they can cancel your appointment at any moment regardless. Shouldn't they pay me the $50 for their cancellation of my appointment? I understand their issue but what about the patient? I did everything I was told to do and don't feel it was just tough luck for me. Very unprofessional and definitely not customer friendly. This is a creme of the crop when it comes to dental offices in the South End. Everything from being greeted to the front desk, meeting and spending time with the hygienist Cindy and meeting Dr. Park was a seamless and pleasant experience. The facilities are clean, the waiting area super pleasant (it can be nerve wracking waiting for the dentist but not here) and the technology the dentist employs is awesome! They had a camera that showed me my teeth from the dentist's point of view. The office manager was great and helped me parse out my insurance. I really appreciated the time he took to do that. Buyers beware!! DO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE AND do not discount other reviewers' negative experiences about the billing process (I've already made that mistake)! For a routine cleaning, I've decided to give Tremont Dental a try after reading all the praises online. While I found the actual teeth cleaning service to be satisfactory (a well deserved star for that), I am completely shocked by a $100+ bill in my mail box weeks later. Apparently this office was out of network for my insurance. I have indeed called prior to my appointment to confirm the coverage, and the receptionist claimed he had checked with my insurance and falsely promised me that everything was covered for this routine cleaning. I'm still shocked that they have blatantly lied and misled me during the process. Completely unacceptable - A DENTAL OFFICE THAT LIES TO ITS CUSTOMERS. I have since followed up twice with the office regarding this issue. Both times I was told completely inconsistent and doubtful stories for the extra charge; with them alternating from blaming the insurance company to myself. Furthermore, I was promised more than once that the office manager was going to call me back and he never did. ANOTHER LIE. I've been coming here since 2008, and it's never really been all that close to my apartment. When I was in Symphony, it was a bit of a walk, and now that I'm in the Fenway, it's even farther, and not really convenient via bus or T. But I continue to come here because I feel as though I'm well taken care of, and that my business is appreciated. This morning on a gross humid day, I walked over super early and checked in 45 minutes early, just to get out of the disgusting 10 AM heat. They were super friendly as always at the counter, and they said they'd try to get me in early. They brought me in about 25 minutes prior to my scheduled appointment, which I appreciate, because I'm always PAINFULLY EARLY FOR EVERYTHING. They brought me to the downstairs offices, which I had never been in before. I can't believe how huge this place is. It's very deceiving! The office is beautiful, modern, and very high-tech looking, which is refreshing when you're coming in from the heat and you're sweating all the way through every piece of clothing. I couldn't figure out how to lock the restroom door (I think it's broken), so I hoped no one popped in when I was in there! The entire office is bright and clean. The dental hygienist who saw me this time made the effort to be upbeat and friendly. I have absurdly good teeth and take ridiculously good care of them, so I never have to worry when I hook myself up with a cleaning. Today was no different. The hygienist said that my cleaning was "the most uneventful she ever had," which made me feel smug and proud, because I treat my teeth and gums like prized fighters. After the cleaning and my free toothbrush, paste, and floss package (yay! My favorite part!) the dentist came in and checked me over. It was quick and easy, and she confirmed that my teeth were good to go. Overall, great experience, as always. read more

So. Yeah. I hadn't been to the dentist since I was in high school. Well, I did go in for a impacted wisdom tooth extraction- but they just took x-rays, kicked the shit out of my tooth, and got the heck out of there. Anyway. I felt it was time to back to the dentist. I'm not even afraid of dentists or particularly dislike the experience of dentists. I spent a great deal of my childhood at the dentist so I kinda got used to it (I will spare you the gory details. Two words will suffice: gum graft). I'm just lazy and never had dental insurance. I'm still lazy and don't have insurance, but I figured it was time. I chose to go to Tremont Dental cause it's close and they did a remarkable job of referring me to the best oral surgeon to get my wisdom tooth taken out a couple years ago. Dr. Lim is a no-nonsense kinda lady. I like that. I don't need my dentist to be a chatty cathy. Her assistant took my xrays- I always think that's by far the worst part- poor gag reflex. Then she came in, looked at them, and started cleaning. That part kinda sucked, but she did it very efficiently and with minimal pain. And, best part? No cavities! Although she did properly scold me for my lack of dental visits in the last 10-12 years. I already have my next appointment on the calendar, a very proper six months from now. read more

The staff is mellow and friendly and my only qualm is that the dentists are really quiet while they work-- which I know is what some people like -- but i prefer a dentist who lets me know what they're doing so I'm not left wondering... I felt a little skeptical (and obsessed with Yelp) when I found myself searching for a dentist through this site. But I had a killer cavity and realized it was time to start seeing doctors in Boston rather than taking a 5 hour bus ride home to get a filling. Anyways, I know that Tremont Street gets a bit sketchy. But Dr. Lim's office is beautiful and classy. If Tremont Dental Care was anything but a Dentist's office, I'd choose to be in there all the time, based on the atmosphere. Very nice team here who are fundamentally sound. For a normal cleaning, I'd ask for Cindy, who is the best hygienist around. The office is clean, full of light, and has a good staff They lose a start as they need a little bit of help administratively with their systems - missing appointments, schedule mixups - but they have always been transparent about billings, and make things right eventually. Writing this review about 7 months after having some dental work performed. I would like to start by saying the staff at the front desk were incredibly nice and pleasant. The office is very clean and is in a great location. I visited with Dr. Park and she had very good bedside manners. She took care of some filings (she did a great job) and then asked me to return to meet with an Endodontist to have a root canal performed. I went back and had the root canal - the doctor didn't introduce himself and didn't even speak to me, just came in did his job and left - totally fine, but a bit of bedside manners can go a long way. This didn't leave me with a positive impression as I just felt it was a bit inhumane - being in the chair and getting sensitive work done puts your patient in a very vulnerable position, least the dentist can do is make you feel a bit more comfortable with the situation. All the standard filings and my cleaning were done very professionally - so far so good! But unfortunately, my root canal failed 7 months after the procedure and the tooth couldn't be saved - Having a root canal does come with the risk of failure, and having had an abscess in that tooth and then being put on antibiotics right after I was probably at greater risk for this occurring. I ended up getting a crown placed at another location, but ultimately ended up having the tooth extracted. I wish the likelihood of root canal failure had been communicated to me better as I may have had the tooth pulled sooner than later instead of spending money to save it and then suffering the pain of a failed root canal. read more

Very pleased to rate Tremont Dental Care highly. I've been coming here for several years and have had positive experiences to date. Even when there was some confusion with changes to my insurance and an outstanding balance, they were willing to work with me despite some back and forth. Most recently, I was in this past weekend for a filling and Dr. Park was excellent. I had a traumatic experience as a kid when my dentist at the time drilled a tooth with little novocaine and ever since then, I get extremely anxious when having dental procedures done, particularly drilling. Dr. Park reassured me that if I would feel nothing and in the unlikely event I did, to alert her and she would stop. As expected it went smoothly. What a horrible experience I had. Tremont Dental Care is not patient-centric at all and in general are very sloppy. Before my first appointment I was told in writing that my insurance was in network. Then AFTER receiving treatment was told I was out of network. A few days later, I was told I actually was in fact in network. Definitely a confusing and frustrating experience trying to figure out what I was eligible for. I later scheduled a wisdom tooth extraction. I met with the oral surgeon for maybe 2-3 min and he didn't really give me much information in terms of what to expect on the day of the procedure (I didn't even know if I was getting local anesthesia or general anesthesia). Usually when you walk into a doctor/dentist office you expect them to make you feel comfortable -- particularly if you are preparing for a procedure. I didn't feel that any care was taken to make me feel comfortable. One day before my extraction I was called by Tremont Dental to tell me they needed to cancel my appointment and couldn't schedule a new extraction for a month. When I explained I am moving out of state in a month they later agreed to let me come in during my originally scheduled time. Then the morning of the appointment they called me once again to say it had to be cancelled. I was understandbly upset since I had adjusted my work schedule and had been told different things at different times. They later suggested I could get one tooth removed on a Tuesday and the other tooth removed on a Thursday. Why would I want to go through 2 painful treatments and miss work twice in one week rather than getting it all done at once? That suggestion made me feel as if they have no empathy towards the patient experience and didn't think about how uncomfortable two wisdom tooth extractions in one week would be. I also had been told by the oral surgeon when we originally met that he didn't recommend getting one tooth out per side because aligning a tooth with a raw gum can cause problems and is not advisable. So i'm not sure why I was provided with an option that originally was not advised. Nothing about my experience made me feel comfortable so I will go someplace else for my extraction. I did have a great experience getting a teeth cleaning, but otherwise had a horrible experience. read more

After going several years without visiting a dentist Tremont Dental Care was recommended by a friend so I called and made an appointment. Turns out chugging soda for years without going to the dentist can result in cavities, who woulda thought! The office was modern, clean, and welcoming from the lobby to the exam room. I scheduled to have two fillings done by Dr. Park which she later completed during my lunch break quickly and painlessly. I then made a very overdue appointment for a crown on an old root canal. When I nervously entered for this visit Dr. Park made me feel comfortable, explaining all the steps of the procedure and she even made the crown right there in the office. I walked out pain free with a brand new crown in less than 2 hours. Needless to say I won't be avoiding the dentist anymore nor will I be seeing anyone but Dr. Park. Today i spent two hours in Dr. Lim's chair while she and her assistant worked quietly and efficiently to save a tooth that had deep decay under an old crown. Dr. Lim was trying to provide the most economical and yet effective way to fix it within the short time frame required by my up-coming travel plans. I had the worst toothache!! I'm not from the area so I had to call around trying to get a walk in appt. This was the 3rd place I called and they were so kind and accommodating. Their office is conveniently located and has nice decor. Front staff were very professional, as they were over the phone. Since it was my first time, I had to fill out simple paper work. Then even before my appt time, I was called in to see the doctor. My clinician was Dr.Song and I could not have asked for a better clinician. He was very professional and caring! It was my first time here today and I really liked it. The atmosphere was serene and quiet. The design of the top and bottom floors were spacious and welcoming. The staff were all very friendly too. My front tooth chipped at about 2 pm on a Friday afternoon- great way to ruin a perfectly good weekend coming up. I called several dentists since I am new to the area and could not get an appointment until next week. Great. After checking out Yelp, I called Tremont Dental Care and they got me an appointment immediately. By 4.30 pm on Friday my tooth is fixed- looks fabulous and I am ready to get my weekend on. BE WARNED - Before moving to Boston, I never had a cavity. During my first consultation, the Drs at Tremont Dental "identified" 8 cavities. They wanted to fill 2 immediately, during my second filling they "found" a third and scheduled a filling for that. At this point I was suspicious and went for a second opinion. The second opinion did not find any cavities. Be warned, these Drs will 100% prescribe unnecessary and expensive treatments! read more

I absolutely hate going to the dentist, but this place actually makes it not so bad. Dr. Lim is amazing. She is always very honest about the procedure and tries to get you in and out quickly. They always start the appointments on time and end on time, which is a must with my crazy schedule! Cleanings book up weeks in advance and they don't offer services for kids. read more

Best dentist office I have ever been to! Have been several timesand have had Dr Tang who was great. Today I had a chipped tooth and they were able to squeeze me in before I go away on vacation, I had Dr Brae and she was great too. The assistant I have had there is also very good. I really used to hate going to the dentist and had put off some work that I should not have, but after coming here I dont mind the dentist and my teeth will thank me for that.
