I have 2 insurances. Obviously they billed my secondary insurance before my primary insurance. They took a picture of both of my cards. The text said if my insurance doesn't pay I'm responsible for the bill. No way they are getting any money from me. Between my 2 insurances my visit is covered 100%. IMO it's up to them to bill correctly, but since they can't seem to do anything else correctly I guess that's a big ask.

I was in a vulnerable position and was embarrassed, and her comment also shared with the surrounding staff my personal medical complaints, which raises a HIPAA concern. I paid it anyway because, as the AMGI explained, I will get it back in 3 months. That timeline came and passed. I got some of my deposit back only after countless of follow ups, phone calls, voice messages, and emails to their billing office which was stressful and increasingly frustrating. Paying a high premium for health insurance is frustrating enough but this experience pushed that frustration to a whole new level! On top of that, I learned through Yelp and other review apps that this did not only happen to me but to many of you who also went to see Dr Blosser and trusted AMGI, and then treated woefully! One proactive thing that worked for me is I reached out to my health insurance provider, complained, and asked for help to get my deposit back which they gladly did. After working with my health insurance benefits specialist, provided them with documentation, and records of phone calls and emails (so keep a log) and staying on top of phone calls and emails, I finally got my check but it was $30 short of the $500 deposit I put down with no explanation of what the extra charge was for, even when I tried to get one. My request for an accounting of additional charges was also ignored. Dr. Blosser maybe a good GI but you have other choices you can go to. Dealing with this practice's business office is a real nightmare!

I had a virtual appointment on Friday afternoon. They were running 30 minutes behind, which I don't ever mind if a provider gives me the time I need. They did do that. The PA was supposed to call in medication and an order to Fairfax Radiology. Well I call the pharmacy to see if it was ready and they never received the prescription. I then call Fairfax Radiology to set up an appointment and they have no order. Of course all of this on a Friday afternoon before the weekend. I didn't want to page a dr over the weekend even though I didn't feel well, so I sent them a message through their portal system. The lady who responded said they sent them on Friday. That may or may not be true, I don't know, but there was an issue somehow because two independent facilities told me they hadn't received them. I then call to get a f/u scheduled this morning. The receptionist could not figure out how to book an appointment for the provider I had seen. I was on the phone with her for 15 minutes with her trying to figure it out. After 15 minutes of trying she then tells me she has to put me on hold while she can figure it out. After waiting 10 more minutes and her not returning, I finally hung up. It shouldn't be this difficult to schedule an appointment. I then call back to try and talk to someone else and get an appointment scheduled and they ask me to leave a message, that they'll call me back. I haven't heard from them yet. It shouldn't be this hard to get an appointment scheduled and medication/orders sent. Especially when you don't feel well. You can look at my reviews. I generally don't like to give poor ones, and have previously been very happy with this practice. In my experience their providers are very knowledgeable, empathetic, and accurate in their diagnosis. The lady I saw Friday was no exception to that. It is the way the office runs that seems to be the issue. My recent experience with them is the way the office is run has changed and they're difficult to deal with. My hope is they can rectify this because if not, I will be looking for another practice.

I've been a patient for YEARS and only managed to see Dr. Lafsky in office ONCE due to repeated scheduling errors on their end. The final straw was after being denied a scheduled appt. With Dr. Lafsky by Nancy the office manager. All bc I missed an appointment while I was in the hospital with SEPSIS. Instead of telling the doctor I was there she sat me and my MOTHER down for 45min to lecture us about missing appointments. I even called from my potential deathbed to cancel and i saw Dr. Lafsky while in hospital!! Later that weekend, I retroactively received an invite from the receptionist Sam to an entirely different appointment the previous month that I did not make nor was I ever informed of. Clearly trying to clean up a screw up. So, after trying to schedule an over due Endo and colonoscopy for 3 years with this office, I finally gave up and found a new GI. I came in as a new patient, had my first appointment, and both procedures scheduled and performed in less than 2 weeks. If you are having issues with this office, it's them not you, just run. P.s. shout-out to Reston Gastro Health! It's a 2hr round-trip, but probably just gained me years of life back.
