A very neutral experience at this beautiful leather shoe wear and accessory store. The store was well laid out and could tell their leather was quality from Italy.In fact even saw a pair of Italian loafers from Italy that looked almost exactly like the ones we purchased this past summer inThe Amalfi Coast. We came in on a very quiet Sunday with only 1 other customer present in store.We were in for a bit and no verbal exchange from sales staff or welcome in. When you pay $395 for men's shoes it would be lovely to be greeted although sometimes I appreciate being able to shop without the persistent sales staff bothering me. Return? Unsure. read more

I have done business with multiple salesperson and Manger between the TC location and Highland Park on several occasion and each time was pleasant and informative. For instance, I did not realize due to the style variation of a cap toe and loafer my shoe size would change. I would highly recommend when you go to try a pair of shoes or get sized that you would go to the store towards the end of the day or when you have been on your feet for a while so they can size your shoes properly. The leather on shoes, just like skin, requires moisture, conditioning and protection so DO NOT..I repeat DO NOT try and wear your shoes for a full day without breaking them in properly. Even though some styles of shoes might feel comfortable at first, moisturize and condition the leather to allow for normal stretching and even then you might have to take your shoes back to the store so they can stretch them properly to conform to your feet. They offer this service free for each pair of shoes you purchase and your feet will thank you. AE offers decent sales about twice a year so take advantage and remember AE stands behind their craftsmanship. If there is any defect, they will replace accordingly due the situation. One thing I love about AE shoes is that ability to have them repaired properly, a timeless style and being able to be an heirloom. The cost benefit value is exceptional on a great pair of shoes that will be utilized for years to come. read more

Due to being in grad school for four LONG years, I have not had the chance to purchase Allen Edmonds for A LONG TIME. Tonight I had the chance to purchase a new pair (I wore out a few pair & now only have one pair of resoled Hillcrest). There is some construction where this place is located and parking is a pain. However, the shoes are as good as they have ever been. There was only one salesperson working (Jaffar) and he had just worked through a busy wave of customers. There was one couple ahead of me, but he was able to help us all at once. His positive attitude and professionalism are refreshing. Jaffar knew so much about the brand (history, older models that I own(ed), and different lasts). I tried on about 5 different pair and purchased a brown Strandmok. I actually went in looking for McAllister, but they did not have my size and I REALLY wanted to go home with a pair of shoes tonight (normally not like me). I will return and purchase the McAllister soon. Sadly, Allen Edmonds is losing Jaffar as he will be working on his degree full time. I only hope that they have other top notch salespeople here when I return. read more

I love Allen Edmonds shoes. I love the relatively new line of clothes that they sell as well. I didn't love having to order shoes online or drive all the way into River Oaks to shop there, but now I don't have to. I can go right up the street to City Center and browse to my heart's delight. The location is pretty small, which is standard for this brand's retail shops. They have a very large selection of shoes, a good selection of belts and briefcases and leather bags, and then a small selection of clothes, mostly sport coats. They also sell various small leather products like card cases, wallets, etc. as well as things like watches and cuff links. Allen Edmonds shoes are an American standard, and they are still made here in America, by hand. They are excellent shoes of superior quality and are made to last for many, many years if they are well-cared for. When you do manage to wear them through, they have a service to re-condition your old shoes and have them return to you like new once again; how cool is that?! The shoes and clothes here aren't cheap by a long shot, but quality often is something that one has to pay for. I highly suggest that all men go and buy themselves a pair of Allen Edmonds shoes...they will make any wardrobe just a bit better, I assure you. read more

I went into the store to purchase shoes for my husband for Christmas. I was very clear with the salesperson that they were a gift for my husband. They didn't have his size in stock so she ordered them and had them shipped to HIM! She wanted his name to look up his profile and then apparently put his name in for the shipping. When they come, they did not show Allen Edmonds on the shipping label -- it was some company I never heard of so assumed it was something my husband ordered. Of course, when he opens the shipping box the shoes are inside. SO disappointed and very careless! Btw, I was the only customer in the store so it's not as if she was rushed or distracted while I was ordering. read more

I recently purchased two pairs and after having one that had a minor squeak and then deciding that I needed a size smaller in length and a bit wider, the store was more than happy to make sure I got the right shoe. Corporate Customer Service - 5 stars Town & Country Store - 0 stars My son went to the Town & Country store to purchase a pair of shoes for his upcoming job with his own money and the salesperson fitted him to a size that was too large. He ordered the shoe online and when it came was told he couldn't return/exchange because they were worn (once). He went back to T&C for another pair on sale in a smaller size. When they arrived I checked and they were still too big - he has a narrow foot and the salesman put him in a D. He went back to the Town & Country store and they agreed he needed the narrow but they would have to order it. They returned his too big shoes and then ordered the online shoes. He asked the salesman if he would get the immediate credit because he was putting it on his debit card and couldn't pay for the new shoes without the refund. My husband was there to help pay if necessary. The salesman said it would go immediately back on his account - well it didn't and he immediately went into overdraft. Instead of having 100 in his account he now had -254 and I had to put 354 in his account so he would have 100 until the refund came through besides the overdraft fee. I called the store manager, Marianne, and she was defensive and talked over me. I explained the situation and she said the salesman did not say that, even though she was not there and my son and my husband were and said he did. I also told her it was ridiculous that they wouldn't take back the original shoes that were worn once and she was extremely unhelpful. I told her that Neimans and Nordstrom and her competition had great customer service and I couldn't understand why they would not exchange ill fitting shoes when it was her salesman who misfitted him. She was argumentative and defensive and told me I could call customer service if I didn't like their policies. Now the good part - the gentleman from the customer service apologized and sent me a return label for the original too big shoes. He said that they wanted my son to be a customer for life and not go somewhere else because of customer service. He told me that he could look up all the shoes made from the same mold when he got a shoe that fit great, as there were other styles made to fit exactly the same. He also told me that it was up to the discretion of Marianne, and any store manager, as to whether they returned the shoes or not - unlike what I was told by the T&C location. From now on, he will go to Highland Village location because he loves these shoes. Hopefully, T&C will learn the importance of great customer service before and after the sale because their competition understands! read more

My husband has worn Allen Edmond shoes for years. He has had them resoled several times. I'm not sure what it's gonna take before he retires them. We went to the store for some belts, a NEW pair of shoes and I made him try on the jeans. OMG! After 42 years of "Dad jeans" he put those on and looked amazing! He is normally pretty frugal, but I kept going on so, he bought 3 pair! The salesmen were great each time I have gone in there, and returned a belt I bought online without any problem. I recently purchased quite a few pairs of Allen Edmonds shoes when they were on sale. What I can tell you is that the quality control on Allen Edmonds shoes is the worst I've ever seen. When I ordered some from the internet, several of the pairs seemed to be obvious seconds-quality shoes with noticeable defects that should have never passed quality control. Also, it seems that the sizing of Allen Edmonds shoes varies from last to last, which makes it tricky to just order online. I made multiple orders at this location with Kamran. Kamran was very helpful in helping in helping me identify the proper sizing for various shoe models. Kamran checked out how the shoes fit and recommended the proper sizing with confidence and explained why he made those recommendations. Even when I was not sure which way to go for a few models, I found that his confident recommendation was actually the best choice. I also saw him making size recommendations with confidence to some other customers, he knows what he is doing. Also, when I received shoes with obvious defects in quality that I found unacceptable, Kamran helped me get good pairs that weren't messed up. read more

My husband went to this store in a last minute search for a nice pair of shoes to wear to a conference. He found a style he liked, but the store did not have his size. The saleswoman/manager insisted that they ship the correct size straight to the conference at their cost. Yes, he wore them one day. They hurt his feet and he could only return them for a store credit. And even getting that was unpleasant. Be aware of their return policy before you purchase! read more

I ordered a pair of shoes from this store. The first pair of shoes arrived a week later. When trying them on I noticed fraying on of some of the stitching. When you pay $500 for a pair of shoes you should not have frayed stitching. A replacement pair was ordered. This pair seemed OK, but when I got them home the stitch that hold the tongue in placed fell out. I went back to the store, they first tried to exchange with the first pair I ordered there; then told me there were no more in the warehouse. I gave them and opportunity put it it right by substituting a pair of equal or better value; they chose not to offer a suitable alternative even though it was in their power to do so. Clearly Allen Edmond have problems with QA and customer service that need to be resolved. read more

I walked in looking to get larger size in one of their models, and the black male sales associate didn't even acknowledge me. To make things worse, he looks at me and then immediately turns to a white couple and asks them if they need any help, all the while giving me this "get out of my store" look.
