This is a great store with great service. I just got my first pair of Red Wing work boots. So far, so good. I've tried every other brand of work boot over the years and have been disappointed by all of them. I've only heard good things about Red Wing and their top of the line brand, Irish Setter. Their boots and gear isn't cheap, but the quality seems to match the high price tag. I've spent more money at a couple of the box stores on supposedly high-end brands just to watch them fall apart. These Red Wings seem solid so far, and they do have a warranty if anything goes wrong. They have waterproof, steel toe, and electrical work options to choose from. Any kind of outdoor work, they have the boot. I'm thinking they can dual purpose as hiking boots too. I got a really nice pair of leather gloves as well. read more

Not to be confused with Red Wink Shoes, which is when a Communist gives you the eye - only one. Similar to the one in Katy, this is not a bad location of Red Wing and one which we've been to a few times, but they will be missed because apparently they are no longer around although the Katy one is definitely still in business cuz we were there recently. Update: in the owners recent response (over a year after I posted my updated review) they claimed to have given me a refund and resolved the issue after getting the correct information from me. Neither of these things ever happened. I wound up calling Red Wings corporate office and magically they had a date for when the shoes would be ready and I had the shoes back within a couple of weeks. The owner never responded and never said anything when I PAID for the resole. Again, there was never any contact from the owner or store, other than them contacting me to let me know they had the shoes back, and there was most certainly never a refund. I have no idea why they responded with that false information. read more

I've been going to this store for going on 15 years for all my work boots. Last February-March I purchased a $300 pair of boots (the most comfortable boot I've ever worn) I gaffe poles and climb ladders at work. I was very upset when the sticking/lining started coming out hard to get my feet in and out. Etc. I went to the store expecting some push back. A wise man once told me there are three things you do no skimp on when it comes to protection: your eyes, ears and feet...After a month of searching for a good pair of boots for some physical labor, the winner was a pair of Red Wing Exos Lite(2452). They claimed to be the lightest most durable boot for medium work with electrical shock protection, non slip treads for oil, waterproof and steel toe protection. I was hesitant at first about the Boa lace system, but it comes with a lifetime guarantee for the life of the boot and if damaged they will replace no questions asked. Usually there is a break in period with most boots but I put them through the paces for a full 12 hours today lifting 70 lb bags, moving 250 lb equipment around and other manual labor and let me tell you my feet were saying thank you all day! I usually use an insert because of plantar fasciitis, but even with the regular boot cushion I did not feel any pain or chaffing. I did have to adjust the Boa laces a few times to expand the boot and dial in the perfect support for my ankles but the boots were well worth the price and my feet are grateful. read more

The last time I had to buy a pair of red wing boots was 16 years ago. That should tell you something about their quality. The old pair finally gave out on me after multiple re-soles. I volunteer at the Houston Rodeo and need a good pair of roper work boots for the month of March, plus hunting/fishing and other outdoor work at the ranch, so I ran down to Red Wing to grab a new pair of ropers. Customer service was excellent. The man who helped me fit my boots was really focused on making sure I had the right all around fit. We went through probably half a dozen slight size variations until we both agreed I'd found the right ones. Some folks complain about the price, but my last pair justified the cost to me. I look forward to seeing them again in about 15 years for a new pair. read more

Great service and professional treatment. I don't work anymore so no need for steel toe work shoes. I walked in to purchase my favorite slip on steel toe shoes for casual wear that I wore years ago working 12 hour 7 day shifts, as they were so comfortable and I don't like wearing shoes with laces as they become a problem because I limp, However my favorite slip on was discontinued so the gentleman offered an Irish Setter non-steel toed boat shoe (with laces!) at a good price, I tried them on and walked around and they were just perfect. I don't like laces but the comfort changed my mind in this case. After years of buying shoes on the internet and at big box stores where the experience can be hit or miss, it felt good to get professional service in a polite and courteous fashion. It should say something for a retired old customer to continue to trade with a shoe store for casual wear. I have passed by so many times on I-10 not realizing this hidden gem in plain sight. Do yourself a favor. Slow down off the interstate. Park your car in the front, get out and walk inside to get a great deal form a wide selection and from good people who care. The location of this Red WIng Shoe Store is located in a shopping area, across the freeway from Memorial City Mall. Lots of stores and restaurants surrounding it. If you are looking for the Heritage line, which are like the shoes they made 100 years ago. I have never seen one in real life, only online. From my understanding, stores like Neiman Marcus are the ones carrying this line. So I go into the Red Wing Shoe Store and they do not carry the line. A gentleman named Jim, knew exactly what I was looking for when I showed it to him on my phone. He showed me a catalog and they could order it. I didn't have to pay upfront. I could wait and try it on when it comes in and see if I wanted them. He did quote me a price, and he gave me a discount. This was awesome. The shoes came in, and it didn't fit me. So I had another size ordered and it fit. I bought them. If you ever go here, I suggest that you deal with Jim. There was another associate that wasn't very helpful. Almost felt like anything I said didn't matter. Jim was the one that showed me the catalog. The other associate didn't suggest it to me. I would have went elsewhere, but Jim knew what I was looking for. Overall, it was a good experience because of Jim. Knew nothing going in, and I kind of thought of steel toed boots as heavy, clunky, and for those in heavy industry--not someone accustomed to an office. I dreaded this visit. I really did. And then some of the most helpful and patient men helped me find a pair that fit, fit well, and brought a sense of nostalgia to when Doc Martens were popular. The Best...Unrivaled knowledge and support. After much persuasion from my local boss, I relented and I bought a pair of red wing boots. Unfortunately for me, I have somewhat funky feet , too much running, abuse from football and the top of my foot has a protruding bone that simply did not mesh well with the boots. The guys here patiently tried everything for me, advising me, stretching the leather , conditioning and doing whatever it took to make the boot fit, as per my stubborn request. However, sometimes the boot doesn't fit, and I gave up recently. I returned to this store where they had no problem switching the boot out for a more comfortable shoe! Now I am truly experiencing the red wing comfort and these bad boys will last a very long time no matter what I put them through. read more
