There are no words to fully express my gratitude for the extraordinary care and dedication she put into making him look more beautiful than ever. Her compassion and attention to detail brought me a measure of peace in an unimaginably difficult moment, and for that, I will be forever thankful.

What a disgusting and unethical funeral home. Somewhere that's supposed to treat those who've…read morepassed with dignity and respect, showed my grandmother with nothing but disrespect. And she was a friend of Charles Smith himself. They mishandled and abused her body, based on the large postmortem laceration on her face. They over embalmed her to the point that she was seeping in her casket and we had to cover it up with a blanket- she looked nothing like herself. Andy Ortiz failed to get the police escort and the hearse was running yellow lights with the body and 30+ cars trying to keep up. He also took a phone call during the funeral in which he was yelling at the Sachse PD to cover his mistake when they couldn't provide a police escort without proper notice. We could hear him yelling from the funeral. Andy also provided the wrong name for the vault and tried to scrape it off and glue the correct name on there- it looked awful. Then offered to take her back to the funeral home so they could get it straightened out. ABSOLUTELY NOT. We refused to put her back in their care. It's been 3 years and I still can't visit her grave without getting furious. I will never find peace there, thanks to Andy Ortiz and Charles W. Smith. I hope they see her face every day and feel shame for how they handled someone- the LAST person who deserved to be treated like that, and a faithful friend to the Smith family. Absolutely disgusting. If you want your loved one to be treated with respect, DO NOT leave them in Charles W. Smith's care.

He crossed the Rainbow Bridge on Friday, May 1st, 2026 at VCA Dallas Specialty Animal Hospital, and I was so overwhelmed with grief that I did not even know where to begin. Sunny was so patient with me; walking me through the online process from start to finish, explaining each segment in detail and customizing my wishes in a way that would commemorate Donny's memory. We opted to memorialize him through his paw print and also create a necklace. When Fond Memories sent the box to our home address, I wasn't expecting to become emotional all over again. His ashes came in a beautiful wooden box. I said a little prayer for him and hoped to the Heavens that Donny didn't have any pain when we had to let him go. His certificate was so beautifully printed and preserved. I held his paw print close to my heart and allowed the tears to fall. The grief comes in waves and never truly goes away. I would give everything to have him here for just one more day. I know that other pet parents who have to endure this process feel the same way. You can't put a price or value on a pet. Suffice it to say, Fond Memories and VCA went above and beyond and did everything they could to comfort and support the pet parents during a difficult time, and I will always be grateful. Heartfelt gratitude to Fond Memories for dignifying Donny and etching a special place in my heart for your kindness and compassion. Bless you. Angels on Earth.

From the very first call, they were compassionate, patient, and incredibly understanding. They took the time to explain everything and made sure we felt supported every step of the way. Sunny was amazing very polite. The vet that came to my house was very friendly compassionate and to her time and game me time she wasn't in a rush. When it was over her tech was outside and ready to take Goldie he came in and gently moved her covered her up and off they went. I just received Goldie ashes and paw print was so nice along with a card and packaging was pretty.

I was a bit taken aback when a hearse arrived with two gentlemen who said they worked for a funeral home came to the door; then they quickly told they do pick ups for Lone Star. They were kind, polite and considerate. After I was notified, I drove to their facility to pick up my husbands ashes, and received the death certificates. They had also notified Social Security about the change in status, and I received SSA without any change in schedule. I highly recommend this company. I was able to make all the arrangements over the internet and pay with a credit card.

All I did was forward the previous emails to them and they finally got it. They dragged out the process so I have to wait 10-14 days longer than I should have to get the death certificates. They didn't guarantee a specific date, but their estimate of 7-10 days turned into two weeks. When I went to pick up my wife's ashes she was just in a paper bag on the floor with many others. Watching her haphazardly search through the bags on the floor was horrifying. I would not recommend their service to anyone.
