A solid three with a hug! I got there at 10:45AM on Friday and they were pretty wiped out, went for the maple twist and it was super fresh and nice balance of maple and not over kill. Coffee was basic of course and service was lovely. I was hoping for me based on reading all the reviews...glad I got to try out this local Spot and gonna hit another popular one soon!

I placed an order with them through the app 'Too good to go' which works with businesses to help eliminate food waste by selling some of the items that would've otherwise been thrown out at the end of the day. I thought it was a cool concept and it was my first time trying it. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to try them because when I showed up to get my order during my pick up time at 12:30, the store was locked with a sign on the door saying they were sold out and no one was there. Which is fine, I get that things happen, I just wish they had cancelled my order so I didn't drive all the way there for nothing. Maybe I'll give them a second chance if I'm ever in the area again.

I used to go to Kings, but their doughnuts have been gross lately. When you bite into it, it's filled with oil. This place had pretty good reviews, so I decided to give them a try. The lady at the counter was so sweet! The doughnuts were so good! The Apple Fritter was sooo fresh tasting! None of the doughnuts were oily, I wish the cake doughnuts were a little more cakey. But overall, they are not bad. This will be my new go to place.

Ladies working the counter are somewhat friendly here. My daughter, who is 7 years old, likes to order and they are never rude or rush her to make her selections. They never seem to get her order right either. I do come here often, since I live down the street it is definitely convenient. The kids say they are yummy lol. Occasionally they are out of the donuts I like. Most times they are out of glazed donuts, which I find rediculous. Overall, you get a decent donut with decent service for a decent price. Not a place I would recommend if you have any other options, but if you juat want average donuts than this is your place. read more

I bought a dozen donuts from here ($9.95/dozen) and brought them to work today, and my coworkers loved them! The flavors I bought were maple, glazed, sugar, chocolate, frosted with chocolate chips, and frosted with nuts. The donuts were moist and tasted really good. Also, the service from the lady working there this morning was excellent! She was smiling and super friendly. I will definitely return here if I ever need to buy donuts. read more

Usually go to Donut King, came here instead. Didn't see muffins, but they had everything else the same selection and quantity as them. I got a maple old fashioned, maple buttermilk, and a chocolate custard. I love all three, some dang good donuts. Most of all though the service. The lady was really nice, and there was a nice looking gentleman hanging out drinking coffee as well. It had a homey feel and I liked it. The lady at Donut King is so unpleasant. Keep up the good work guys! read more

The venue is a little meh, but it seems to have quite the little community coming and going, and chatting up a storm. The service was good. My kids scarfed down their donuts, which was a first. I didn't notice any difference. They had a lot of my favorites but the variety is very slim here, quality or quantity I guess. Prices were fair. I have been here twice. read more

This place is a hidden gem in Rancho Cordova. The shop has been here for years and never disappoints! My family has been going to Allen's since I was a little girl. It's a hole in the wall establishment and I've only ever had the doughnuts (no coffee, etc.) but no matter what kind of doughnut I'm in the mood for, it's always fantastic! Very friendly and excellent doughnuts. read more

Ive loved getting donuts from this place since jr high when my uncle would come from Michigan he always would take us here before school. Our family has been coming to this place for years. First time trying out this place after being nearby for almost 2 years and I am not impressed. The gals are short and rude with customers. I don't know why it's always so difficult to find good customer service in this area but it's more common than not. The donuts are okay but nothing exciting and/or necessary to keep me returning for bad service. Plus, the .50¢ charge to use a credit card is also ridiculous. If you can't afford to run a business and pay merchant fees, don't run one or indicate on your doors that you only accept cash - it is getting out of hand with businesses in this area. read more

What a surprise! I would never have guessed this place would be good. It's in a dilapidated strip mall and doubles as a Western Union, but the ladies at the counter were nice and the donuts tasted fresh at 4pm on a Saturday. I highly recommend the big twist with chocolate chips on top and inside. It was light and moist and fresh. Wonderful! read more

Sitting down at the classic table took me back to childhood days of getting 2 donuts for a dollar in middle school and I just enjoyed it. :) Biting into my donut felt perfect. It was the perfect amount of cake and lite crunch, cooked to perfection, showing that this shop knows the art of donuts. They don't have the fancy cronuts or any other specialty type donut, but what the do have is a great selection of your normal donuts at a great price. You can get a dozen without spending more than $20 and they usually pop on an extra donut for free YMMV. The service is always fast and friendly. I would highly recommend.

This is your standard, run-of-the-mill, good ol' fashioned Old Fashioned donut variety, which just so happens to be one of my favorite to get, either in chocolate or maple glaze. Apple fritters are another go-to, while a rainbow sprinkle and even a sugar or crumb donut can be found. Custard filled? Check. Donut holes, absolutely. Maple bar (another go-to of mine) is also a yummy classic served up here. But the one we got on our most recent visit, the one that spurred me actually finally writing up this review, was a BLUEBERRY filled donut. Now, I do love most anything blueberry, so full disclosure. But when hubby tells me even HE found this donut to be SUUUUPER good, that's when I know my tastebuds aren't being biased. Before I wrap this up, let me bring it back to service. The Asians behind the counter, as I've mentioned earlier, is always friendly. Even if/when there occasionally are other patrons besides us, I've witnessed they treat people so nicely, practically as family. It makes me believe they have regulars, but maybe that's just their standard--and if that's the case, it's not a bad business model! So I certainly hope Donut King keeps things going strong and they continue to be abundantly blessed with great customers, to be around for many years to come. Check them out if you haven't, or maybe it's been a while. I'm telling you, these donuts are DEE-liciously approved!!

My brothers liked the beef one, but not the house special, which had assorted meats. The pickled carrot and daikon was very mild and missing the tangy flavor that brightens up this sandwich. Overall I'd say it was missing the aspects that make a great Banh mi.

My daughter is allergic to everything, soy, dairy, egg, fish & shellfish. She can safely eat out at 4 places, and Caring Kitchen is one of them. We stop by every time there is a birthday party to pick up a cupcake so she can be included with her peers. We stop by for fun, we stop by because everyone deserves to be able to go to a store and say pick what you want. Now, for those of you who are like us and are worried about some cross contamination, Rancho does have nuts and soy. We have never had an issue with cross contamination with soy, everything is clearly labeled, and the team does a great job confirming any allergy's. I would double check depending on your nut severity, but many things seem to be pre-wrapped for this reason. The other location is even more allergy free (nut and soy free). I cannot reccomendation this company more, you will pay for the quality, but also for the safety, amazing taste and everything else that comes with a great bakery.

I had a great experience at Allen's Donuts. The staff was super friendly, especially a very nice Cambodian and handsome worker who was about 6 feet tall who has a buzz cut and made the visit even better with his welcoming attitude. The donuts were fresh and delicious, and the service was quick and pleasant. Overall, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. At a time when everything in American life is increasingly industrialized and part of some mega-corporation, there are thankfully still small-scale local options like the Allens Donuts. They make their baked goods on the premises; the doughnuts and cookies are fresh and taste delicious; and the staff is polite and helpful. read more
