We needed a new 30" wall oven. We paid for the store to come inspected the old oven and make sure the new Frigidaire oven would fit in the existing space. We paid $100 for the inspection, that would have been deducted the the price when we bought the oven. they told us the oven would fit fine. They delivered the oven and 1. we were told the we needed an electrician to separate breaker before he could install the oven 2. The electrician came and charge us $275 and said the breaker were fine 3. They came to install the oven agin and left a big space between the oven and the cook top . They said they would have a stainless piece made to fit the open space. 4. Four weeks late they came with what looked like a black piece of wood and I would not let them glue in it. 5. I complained to the store and they said they would call me with a solution. Still have not heard from them, They company Kitchen Solvers that remodeled out kitchen 20 years came and was able to re-position the oven correctly. I still have not heard from Allentown Appliance. we just received our freezer from Allentown Appliance, I felt compelled to leave a review because reviews nearly stopped me from shopping here. We had 8am-11am delivery, they called 30 min prior to let us know they were on their way. Mike and Bob were professional, respectful and helpful with their knowledge. We had no delivery delays, no unsatisfied service from sale or delivery. I will say the ONLY issue I have is that an extended warranty wasn't available, being a freezer it didn't worry me as much, but that being the case I won't purchase a heavily used item without one because we have HORRIBLE luck with refrigerators, dishwashers and washers thru the last 25 yrs. We purchase a G E stovetop & paid $250 for installation. We gave the sales person measurements of both the cut-out and prior appliance. She said this appliance would fit. When the installers came, the stove top did not fit and had heat tape sticking out on all four sides. They told us they would order a trim kit. We waited 3 weeks & then the salesperson told us the trim kit would cost $150. We felt this was part of the installation & have since returned the stove. We were very disgusted, especially since we were repeat customers (Speed Queen washer & dryer.) We will never purchase from Allentown Appliance again & will no longer refer them to friends needing appliances. read more

Ed is the nicest Customer sales representative! I don't want to say Salesman because he wasn't pushy or demanding. He gave me so many options, and explained how they compare prices with Lowe's and Home Depot and make sure you are getting the best price possible. Although there was a bit of a wait for delivery (Memorial Day Sale) I completely understand they were busy. Two of the nicest delivery guys ever, Phil and Juan, were patient that our dogs were very curious and wouldn't stop bothering them. They got the old fridge out and the new one in in less than 5 minutes I bet. Phil noticed our water supply line would probably leak, so him and Juan set up a new water line that was MUCH BETTER than the system we had. I felt bad because it was obviously hot and we didn't have the air conditioner in yet and they were sweating but didn't complain. They kind of gave us the history of Allentown Appliance and said that the owner was opening up a piano bar right next store and said it was awesome! I do not write reviews often, but Ed, Phil and Juan are all genuine and I appreciated the humor with Phil and Juan. Great store, awesome employees. We purchased GE washing machine from Allentown Appliance, trusting person they send to deliver washing machine will correctly install washing machine in our basement so we can use every feature necessary to wash clothes as necessary, including selecting water temperature. Wasn't until we went to wash load of laundry we discovered water temperature cannot be adjusted using washing machine. Only way to select water temperature is by turning water valves hooked up to washing machine and main water line on wall next to washing machine. read more

This review is not about the service at AA, it's about the product. Shy of 2 years ago we spent $4500 on an Electrolux refrigerator which we were told is "top brand". Since then we have spent hours on the phone with Electrolux service and we had multiple, multiple service techs try and repair a variety of issues with it. It has never worked properly since the day it was delivered. As an example, since day 1 the icemaker has not worked and as of today it still doesn't work! If you are thinking of buying an Electrolux refrigerator do your self a favor and buy a different brand. It is cheaply made, service is very sketchy and uniformed, and you will be sorry as we are. read more

Having used, and been happy with Allentown Appliance in the past, my husband and I went in today to purchase a washer, dryer, and refrigerator. Two people wearing staff shirts were on the phone when we entered and did not make eye contact. Another staff member walked right past us. We found the section with washers and dryers, looked around and waited. A fourth staff person, with a handcart, entered from the back and at least greeted us, but continued walking past. One of the staff members finished his call but ignored us when we waved for help. After 20 minutes waiting for help, we left and went to Kleckner's, where we got excellent customer service. read more

My husband and I bought a refrigerator, microwave, oven and stove top from Allentown appliance. Unfortunately, what eas supposed to be a wonderful Christmas gift to our home has turned into a never ending run around. our oven and microwave were installed, but hey had to cut out a life of wood from our cabinet I order to make our new models appliances for. The order arrived December 8th, 2023. we are now in a new year and we are still waiting for the metal distributor to fill the hole has been left in our cabinet. Additionally, we received a dishwasher with a dented door. We are currently waiting for the door to be replaced. Our stove top never got installed because the wrong stove stop was sent die ton inaccurate measurements. So far, I am terribly disillusioned with this company and their sales person. The sales team was great and after that, it was pretty terrible. I bought a refrigerator from them five months ago and it was damaged when delivered. Per company policy, they will not hook up the icemaker so I had to find someone to do that. Two weeks after that was done, the icemaker broke. Allentown Appliance does not do their own repairs so I was referred to Fast Appliance Repair. Six weeks later and three visits, it still is not working. I went to Allentown Appliance because it is locally owned and I thought, mistakenly, that the service would be better because of that. We were totally ripped off by an expensive air conditioner by Freidrich. The product was not good and we had service call after service call. The air conditioner had to go in for service. This is not Allentown Appliance responsibility but they picked it up and brought it back free of charge with other breaks included. We were quite upset with Freidrich and there was no cooperation on their part. I am talking about almost $2000 with the repairs. Now it broke again same problem. Allentown Appliance went out of their way to help us find another that would fit in the wall unit without major remodeling issues. Al from Allentown was so cooperative and understanding. He even helped me understand what has to be done to replace a stove. I could not have asked for a kinder salesman because believe me we didn't get that with Fredrich Air. In Sept. 2019 we purchased a Kitchen Aide microwave for $800.00 from Allentown Appliance,not an inexpensive purchase. One of the primary reasons we again purchased from them was repair and customer service after point of purchase.On 7/21/2023 there was a problem with the fan and internal light. We followed the trouble shooting protocol in the manual,to no avail, and then called the Kitchen-Aide help line. A technician walked us thru the steps to take,again to no avail, and then advised us to call Allentown Appliance to set up a repair tech.On Saturday,7/22/2023 we called Allentown Appliance 4 times starting at 10:30 a.m. and each time we received a recording and each time we left a message explaining the issue and asking for a return phone call so we could contact a repair technician.It is now 2:00 p.m.and we have still not received a phone call.Not the customer service that thay sell in their commercials,Not the customer service we were looking for when we purchased here,Not the customer service anyone deserves.Please remember this review when you are considering Allentown Appliance for a new purchase. read more

We took delivery of our stove in early June for an end of June closing. The delivery team was supposed to call me 30 minutes before showing up, but of course, they didn't call until they were about 10 minutes away. No worries...they waited at the house until I could get there. The delivery team was pretty good...the main guy was really nice and seemed amazed that I was so apologetic about what they had to do (we were way behind schedule on the house, so they had to back their truck up into the dirt driveway and then carry the stove all the way into the house since their hand truck wouldn't make it through the mud. The other guy was kind of grumble grumble, but hey, no one said being a delivery guy was an easy job. Our piece is perfect. Despite some confusion on how to install the grates (not as easy as it sounds) and figuring out how to change it from Centrigrade to Fahrenheit (not difficult once I got out the book), it's been worry free. The stove functions above and beyond as described to us when picking it out of a catalog. Hopefully we will not need to buy another appliance for a decade, but we'll definitely be back to Allentown Appliance! read more

The salesman listened to us carefully, showed us appropriate models (not too fancy!), and scheduled a delivery and installation appointment that fit into our schedule. My wife Nancy and I came home from Baby Sitting our only Grandchild on Monday night. It was a long drive and when we arrived we found our refrigerator was sinking fast. Tuesday we went as soon as they opened and we were treated with respect, kindness and a great willingness to help us. We are seniors, I have been dealing with Cancer and during this same time had to have Spinal Surgery. It makes doing things for ourselves more difficult and sometimes it feels like impossible. At Allentown Appliance we found the help we dearly needed and for the first time light at the end of the tunnel! I was impressed that Joe, the owner, took the time to come out to the shelter to ensure that everything went well with the sale. He had to come back several times to make sure that the installation and venting were done correctly. He found that we would need to have some work done to have the proper venting for the appliances and he personally arranged for someone to come in to do the work. Came into the store for a second visit with questions. The salesman (Al) was absolutely rude and obnoxious! He acted like he didn't want to even be bothered. He couldn't even look up from his computer that he had his face in. After lingering in the store for a few moments and approaching him, he didn't even ask if he could help me. When I finally stated that I had been in the store previously and had additional questions, he responded saying "like what" (all the while not ever looking up from his computer). It was definitely a very awkward back n forth conversation (mostly conversing on my part). He was the MOST rude salesperson I have ever dealt with and for that reason we purchased our appliance elsewhere. Apparently he wasn't interested in my business!! purchased a $4,000 cooktop for christmas present for wife, they could not deliver or install on such short notice,witch is understandable. picked up cooktop and installed christmas eve as surprise for wife also so she could make christmas dinner for multiple guests. they gave me a conversion kit to change from ng to lp gas witch we installed on cooktop. to my surprise the cooktop did not work !! the parts the salesman ordered were the wrong parts ! my wife was devastated that she could not cook for th 16 people we had for christmas ! called store on the 26th and told my salsman al what happened ( had to give him the right part # i got from thermador (i called myself to get part # ) no calls back only an email telling me there looking for part and we can use 1 of the 4 burners!!! really, cooking for 16 people on 1 burner !! called again no call back, had to talk to manager and she informed me the are trying to get from different supplier, (after i found 3 companies on internet that could send overnight and told salesman al ) understandably upset especially since were having 10 people for new years !!!! final outcome they are supposed to get part tomorrow dec 29th i will follow up and let you all know the outcome. Thought I was getting high end appliances from my custom builder but not this place. Did not show me Viking or Wolf instead fed me Jenn-Air. No one at this place worked hard to make me happy. Sold me a lemon. Still living with the worst oven ever created by Jenn -Air. Sold to me by this place. Does not go above 400 degrees. The first 3 weeks after it was installed buzzed constantly. then the light on the bottom oven would not go out. Allentown Appliance refused to fix it and the insurance repair man came back 3 times. I finally rigged up something myself to fix it. Finally dropped the insurance on it, because I am hoping it dies soon. This place was referred by my custom home builder, and now I will never go back. What a disgrace. Found out the installers dropped it when it was installed. That is why it was a problem since installation. The door finally fell off and cracked my Italian Ceramic Floor.
