just an absolutely fabulous space where bound-for-Broadway shows incubate and refine for greatness. we went to see "Water for Elephants" and it was wonderful... even though the show itself needs work, the new Alliance space is the perfect setting where creatives can shine. terrible sound at Atlanta Symphony notwithstanding, the side-by-side pairing of both Symphony and Alliance is like having a Manhattan-show experience right here in Atlanta. we are very lucky to have such an important cultural experience here. if Florida is the 6th borough of Manhattan, Atlanta is the 7th--and yes I will die on that hill. I went to see "The Color Purple" when it was in previews, and it ended up a Broadway hit. go see any show at the Alliance and it's a de facto preview of what will open and thrive on Great White Way.

We watched A Christmas Carol at Alliance Theatre in Atlanta. We had a great time! The theatre had a modern feel : the balcony and boxes looked quite unusual and intricate, constructed with what looked like wicker. Acoustics were great ! We were able to hear everything clearly as though we were sitting right next to the performers. A couple of things we liked about the theatre : they let you inside the lobby area early, unlike other theaters, there are plenty of seating areas so that you don't need to stand until they open the doors and parking is very convenient (they have $40 valet or $18 self parking - we did self) . They also share their back patio with the Art museums and a cafe, so you can grab a cup of coffee or experience the museums without having to look for parking. The play was fantastic in itself - we thoroughly enjoyed it!

Went to see Pearl Cleage's Angry, Raucous, and Shamelessness Gorgeous at the Alliance Theatre. It was a lovely experience. The theater is well lit and the seats are very comfortable. Each seat has a great view of the stage, so there's no bad seat in the house. The design of the actual theatre is nice as well. I went with a large party and we all said we'd be coming back. *The theatre that we were in was only the second play in the newly renovated space. There's an orchestra pit that allows space for a full orchestra. The stage moves in to accommodate the musicians. It is lovely!

I watched Trading Places at Alliance Theatre and had a really good time. The show really made me think about how close we can be to misfortune.

I highly recommend A Christmas Carol at The Alliance Theater. I try to go every year because it is such a wonderful play. It definitely gets you in the Christmas spirit and reminds you about the importance of giving. The production was high end with incredible special effects. The actors were quite talented and several had amazing singing voices. Just a warning, I don't think this show is for small children. The little boy in front of us was scared of the ghost and started crying. But I do think it is a great show for teenagers and adults! I will go back next year!

I recently visited the Alliance Theatre for a few occasions and have to say I'm really impressed! We saw the English-language debut of an award winning Korean musical, Maybe Happy Ending. The set at the Coca-Cola stage was amazing! I will totally come back again!

I enjoyed my time seeing this very inspiring play. The theater was buzzing with people going to see various performances. The play was thought provoking, powerful, and inspiring. The staff was nice m, the place was spotless and they started on time! It was a nice intimate space that made it feel like I was in my living room. Glad I got out to see this!

2 of the actors, including a brilliant singer Trevor Rayshay Perry - terrific actor too.

Built in the 1960s. Has some classic architecture inside. A cozy setting to watch any play.

My poor sewing machine had been sleeping all these years after one use but it has definitely been over worked these days, in a good way. So far, I've taken Sewing 101 and within 2 weekends I've learned to make so many items, such as table napkins, tool bag, pillow case, and reversible tote. My favorite has been the tote bag that I've gone fabric frenzy; thank goodness Joann was having a sale. By no means my sewing skills is perfect after one class and I've been best friends with the seam ripper, but it's been non stop fun making these one of a kind items picked and made by me that are actually functional. Not only are the classes fun, you really learn all the facts and know hows that'll go a long way if you really want continue mastering your skills. Signed up for 102 class already and exited to see how these classes can help me in a long way.

When I expressed I was having a hard time to the higher ups, they suggested I worked harder. The other students were allowed to bully me incessantly, which was brought to the attention of the staff, they did nothing. There's no help for students with learning differences. While trying to get clarification, I had multiple teachers yell at me and refuse to explain things differently; they felt repeating the same instruction louder was sufficient. This school is hard enough without a brain that sees the world differently. Also, there is no elevator and no accessibility for anyone who is disabled. After 9th grade, when my public school became so violent and overcrowded that it was no longer…read moresafe, I got sent to Paideia. My 3 years here were the best years of my entire educational career - including college and grad school! This place really is the most amazing school ever. I remember my first day just like it was yesterday. I was accompanied by one of my best friends, who was also making the big switch to a more civilized school. We sat in front of the bathrooms for like 10 minutes trying to figure out which one was for boys and which was for girls. Turned out you just use whichever one is open! In addition to just being an awesome environment, where you are accepted for being whoever you are, Paideia has a great curriculum. The year is divided into short and long terms. In the long terms, you take the standard stuff - physics, math, languages, etc. The short term is for classes that are a little more outside the box - Sociology of American Rock & Roll anyone? The teachers here are absolutely outstanding! You can totally tell that they love the school and truly believe in it's mission. And Paul, the headmaster, is just an all around great guy. Graduation was awesome. My graduating class was 57 people and Paul made a short speech about every single one of us! I am so thankful that I was able to go to Paideia on a scholarship. I regularly give them money so that others can do so as well. I am also backing them in their efforts to take over the whole block! Go Paideia!

Louis and his team are truly a family and that's the atmosphere that they create for the students. If there was an option to leave negative stars I would, just kidding, the only thing that's holding…read moreme from doing it is the instructor in Atlanta (Shon Middlebrooks). If you're planning to get in this acting classes, STICK TO THE CLASSES AND CLASSES ONLY, do NOT engage in WAD or Lucky 7 "Convention" and definitely do not engage into extra activities, these people are money drains, and do not even care if you learn anything at all. First of all, that dude Lois Stancil, will sell you the dream of every actor, to put you in front of people who are in the media, and quite frankly, is absolutely false. Let's dig in: WAD is this scam event where they keep you for a whole day since the morning, feed you old (and possibly expired) snacks throughout the day, until the end of the day that they will give you a cold pizza... no drink...besides that, they make you memorize a script (which is fine, is part of the gig, you are an actor/actress), the problem comes when they tell you that you should get people to come see you, sell a $30+ ticket to come see you on a play, ask YOU to get props for the infamous play, and then have you perform inside the tiniest room in their building... I repeat: $30+ per ticket...the tiniest room in their building... now lets move on to: the "Lucky 7 CONVENTION" by definition, a convention is a LARGE GATHERING. where there is a showcase, an audience, and sometimes several judges... however LS acting studios big convention is actually, a gathering with mostly students, who can barely fit in a room so small, people cant even stretch out in their seats (yes, worse that Spirit Airlines if you ever flew with them), the "showcase" was rehearsed via ZOOM, over the course of 6 weeks, in which they tell you to do a monologue, a scene, and a "commercial" sample. They tell you that they will give you feedback, they won't, if they do, is not specific, they will give you a drop box and "dead lines" that they don't even respect themselves, so it kinda doesn't matter really, they don't even care... the instructors don't even follow up their own drop box instructions, for example: they tell you they want a specialty instrument video and instrumental ONLY , and when you send it, exactly as requested, they tell you it was supposed to be both singing and playing an instrument... they ask you to do your resume in a certain way, and then write in the instructions a different way, etc. In the drop box instructions we were told that if we didn't submit a video for either commercial, or scene or monologue, we wouldn't be able to perform it... well I decided I did not want to do commercials, and therefore, didn't submit the commercial sample video, well guess what? they asked me to do the commercial sample anyways so I had to improvise. But hang on, that's not it, they didn't even ask me to do the scene! Their people (not sure if you can call them employees because they DON'T GET PAID) will feed you home made sandwiches (yes, made right there in a corner inside the building), again, not even water was given... and then they promise you will be seen by agents and "important people in the industry", but guess what? is NOT true... it's just Louis and his helper (in this case Monique) and a couple of cheap cameras, a cheap amazon bought boom mic - not connected to anywhere- and a couple of screens (allegedly a zoom show case with "important people of the industry") . But hey, that's not all, when people asked Louis who are these people in the zoom call, he tells you they will give you the list prior to the show case (he doesn't), then the day comes, people asked again who are these people, and then he says that he doesn't want to make people nervous so he will give the list later... (he doesn't). After the whole thing, you go on a $40 trip to Warner Studios (the only thing included in this "convention" and the only thing worth doing). Now get this: They only send you the list after the whole trip is over, and actually, even a week after. Also, that list includes people who used to work for independent agencies, or brand new agencies with no impact whatsoever in a serious actor's life, oh and a couple of agencies who are intentionally spelled wrong that imply that they are serious agencies... but they're not. And all of this for the affordable price of $2,000 (flights, hotel, meals, and other... not included). If you ask me, it is a very nicely structured SCAM, that doesn't feel too much of a scam, until you tell someone about it... In other reviews, Louis Stancil as a person, wouldn't recommend either, you see this guy likes to yell at people in front of others, body shame girls, comment on people's accent, and of course he loves being praised by the people who slave for him (yes all of those poor actors that I truly wish they weren't in that situation, but unfortunately are helping him run this SCAM of a "school"). Save yourself the trouble, if you want to, just do the classes.
