What a wonderful venue, a modest theatre that engages your senses in a way that less intimate spaces cannot. The acoustics truly allow an immersive experience. When I first moved to Atlanta , I wanted to try something more than a beginning acting class, and have never tried Meisner, found Pinch'N'Ouch and took my first class with Grant. I felt that my acting had become very emotionally "still" and wasn't connecting character and emotions. Taking this class I tapped into my emotions and also got to work with and meet some very talented actors in the Atlanta community. Since then I have worked on several projects with this group which has become more of a family. I highly reccomend. read more

Pinch N Ouch is by far the coolest theatre company in Atlanta! I have seen all the shows and taken all of the classes offered here. The acting is so grounded and the theatre has an underground hipness that reminds me of NYC's Second Stage theatre. If you're considering taking acting classes, Pinch N Ouch is the place to go. You learn so much within the eight-week sessions about the Meisner approach and how to truly live under imaginary circumstances, as opposed to giving a contrived performance. I had never even been on stage before, and once I was finished with the Meisner Level 2 class I confidently performed in a student showcase. Class consisted of the teacher bragging 1-2hrs about himself, babbling all about his acting, his style of acting, producing, bashing other classes and other acting styles but he has yet to land a big role himself in anything. He ran the class by ear, figuring things out as he went, no structure and focused on a few select people. This is literally how the class went every night. He also didn't want you to practice with anyone else from any other acting schools as if you were going to give away his brilliant techniques. We had to find parks and common areas around Atlanta to practice. This class could be so much more if he just didn't try to fill up 4 hrs with half of it on himself. Just cut the babbling, cut the time if that's all it is and stop pretending you're getting 4hrs of instructions when it's really 1-2. Classes were rushed at the end of the day and we were not able to finish anything class bc he talked about himself for most of it. This I would not waste my time and money on it. I would find somewhere else to spend my money. read more
