I pulled into the parking lot at 9:30 am with the rearview mirror dangling on its wire from the windshield. I have never experienced a mirror falling free of its mounting before. A previous call to Allied advised that it would be around 11:30 before they could handle the repair. As I was backing into a parking space, Mike looked at me and said, "I can handle that in about 5 minutes." He dropped what he was working on, gathered some hand tools and parts and a small blowtorch and had me driving out of the parking lot 10 minutes later. I'm writing another review because I had the toughest auto glass job ever that needed to be done. On my 1964 GM 2 door sedan, the rear seat windows just refused to roll up if they ever got rolled down. Removing the rear panels, hardware and seat are tough, but the workings and the glass are in all this metal framing and body structure within the fender, and almost seem unreachable. Mike got them out, re mounted them on the mechanism, and then put them back in, AND made sure they worked perfectly and normally by rolling them up or down with the handle. Couldn't be happier with these windows working again without worry. Happy customer here! read more

went in for a rock chip in the windshield and he got to it right away. As he was working on it, he explained his process thoroughly and gave me some pointers to avoid future issues with the chip. The chip visibly shrunk from about the size of a dime to maybe 1 millimeter, smaller than a bb and hardly noticeable now. A rock hit my windshield causing a small penny sized chip. I called safelite and they quoted me $125 in shop repair at their sun valley location. I live in simi so this created a problem. I did a quick google search and found Aillied Autoglass. I have them a call and Mike said I could swing by and take a look. After the assessment, he said it will only take 15 minutes and would cost $50, which is almost a third the cost safelite quoted me. We had great conversation while he was working. Mike is very knowledgeable is his field and was willing to talk through any questions I had. When he was done he cleaned the entire area and showed me the site that was now structurally sound. In conclusion, this is a local business man with a family that lives in Simi. If you care about your local community I would recommend Allied every time. Well, I was happy with them at first, when I got my windshield replaced 4 months ago. Then it cracked for no reason last week so I took it back to him. He said the manufacturer warranty was only for 90 days. How convenient that it cracked shortly after the 90 days! My insurance guy did some checking and said that most windshield places have a warranty of 6-12 months. So basically now I have to pay another deductible for a new windshield to replace the defective one. Not happy! read more

Went here today on the recommendation of the manager of O'Reilly Auto Parts while picking up some tools. I inquired to the manager about my daughters car and asked if she knew of some repair shops she could recommend for the exterior door seal replacement . I told her the local body shops want $90 and hour and the dealer about $75- she recommended I go see "Mike" in town. I went there and asked him if knew how to do it and he told me what I needed to do (even down to the socket size and prep) and while I got most of it installed I was having problems. So I came back over and saw that he approached it as a pro and got it installed about a 1/2 hour later and charged me $45 - that included the repair of one of the posts that hold the mirror on since it snapped in my amateur attempt to dissemble it. First of all, I have used this company before for other vehicles and have been happy with the quality. They are slightly overpriced, but I don't mind paying a little extra if I feel like I am being taken care of. I brought a new vehicle in on Tuesday and told Mike that I wanted the rear windows of the vehicle to be dark, like a limo tint. The rear windows were already factory tinted, so I just told him to use the appropriate tint to make it "Limo". This is the same thing I have done with my other vehicles I have brought to him in the past, so I didn't feel there would be a problem. When I came back to pick up my vehicle, I saw that he had used a 5% limo tint over the existing tint. When I looked from the inside, the windows were so dark, that I could barely see out the rear of my vehicle during the daytime. Forget about trying to see out my windows at night. Keep in mind that I am a Private Investigator and I am used to driving vehicles with dark tinted windows. Mike said that it was my fault and that I didn't explain it clearly enough to him. First of all, nothing was in writing from him. He didn't get me to approve what he was putting on the windows. Afterwards, he quoted me a price to remove and put new tint back on and he would take care of me if I came back on Thursday. I did come back on Thursday and he refused to honor his word and even though I wanted other work done, he wouldn't take care of the work as promised. This is a not a man of his word, so if you have an issue with his work, he will not stand behind it. read more

This is a great hidden gem. The exterior doesn't look like a typical auto body shop. In fact, there isn't a shop at all. It's basically a garage with a small register in the back. No office. No waiting area with chairs. No walls with mounted items for purchase. But the guy running the whole operation seems genuinely knowledgeable and honest. I drive more than the average commuter, so getting rocks or dings in my windshield is almost inevitable. I've taken everyone one of them to this place. It's fixed within minutes on a walk-in basis. Had to stop by last night for a pretty bad one in my newish car. I was worried it was too much damage to be a simple repair. But after inspecting it, I was told because it was pretty high on the windshield that it was fixable. A little lower would have been trouble. It was repaired in about fifteen minutes for less than fifty bucks. As I thanked them and drove off, the owner stopped me and said one of my small headlights was out. So he popped the hood and removed he bulb for me to take to the auto store to make sure I was getting the correct replacement. He even gave me advice about what kinds would be better. Never once seemed pushy or condescending. I'm comfortable bringing all of my vehicles to this place. read more
