Allied Body & Frame did such a fantastic job on my car! I took it in to get fixed due to a car accident. The process was very straightforward and easy. It definitely calmed by nerves, because this was my first car accident and so I was feeling rather stressed. Dick was very pleasant and communicative. He explained everything very clearly in terms of the repairs and how they work with insurance companies. When I dropped it off, it happened to be a very rainy day and Dick offered to call the rental car company to come pick me up. I appreciated that a lot (even though they didn't pick up the phone, but it was only a few blocks away so I walked anyway - not a big deal!). Seeing as the car estimated repair completion date was coming up onto the holiday weekend, I expected that it may take much longer to finish. Dick was great about calling me with an update and answered all of the questions I had. When I picked up the car, I was delighted to see that it was back in good shape. Fantastic job! My husband first used Allied in 1989. Allied has done all his body work on his cars since then. The most recent project was to restore the 1978 BMW 320i that he bought new. The work has always been A+. The management/client interface has also been triple A+, including when things, as they always do, get complicated. Pictures below are the final results at this shop. Three trips back and forth and an additional car rental is what it took to properly fix my car, as well as multiple emails and calls regarding the unsolved issues. I was told the car was ready for pick up, however the bumper was not properly painted nor properly installed, a bolt on the rim was missing, and trunk was not aligned. Their service was an inconvenience, and I still cannot wrap my head around how a business can release a vehicle with a wheel that was not properly installed. read more

This will be my second body shop review within a 1 year span and i've only had my Subaru for less than a year. For some strange reason, idiot drivers like to hit the rear back side of my car and run off without leaving a note. For my latest incident, the person left me a BLANK NOTE! Wtf??? I recently switched auto insurances from mercury to AAA. My sister and bro in law recommended Allied since they have been going to Allied for the past 3-5 years or so and has done an amazing job on their cars. Peter and staff was great to work with, very friendly and I have nothing but kudos to them for making the whole entire experience less stressful. This shop did a wonderful job on my first car, a Hersey chocolate VW Rabbit, after an idiot tried to parallel park and ended up dragging his left front fender down the length of my passenger side. Something similar happened recently, when another driver, with impaired vision and reflexes, backed out of a parking spot and into the pristine white passenger door of my BMW. I got quotes from the top picks in the Bay Area Consumers' Checkbook, and Pete Brisbo at Allied Body and Frame came in below the median price and spoke knowledgably about the work that would need to be done. My 1998 Nissan Pathfinder hit a dear up in the mountains. It pretty much destroyed my front bumper and grill not to mention a range of other items and the dear. I took in to Allied and within a few hours Peter Brisbo got back to me with prelimary costs. He worked with CSAA insurance and it looks great, like new. To top it off. I found my air conditioner was not working a week later and I brought it back. They carefully looked at it and found the horn mount in the front had punctured the air conditioner unit and emptied it of freon. They had to take things apart to find this and had not questions about getting this fixed. These guys are all about customer service. They are amazing. read more

Upon pulling into their garage, I see the techs cleaning the shop. It was a good first impression and everything seemed organized including the office. The owner Peter Brisbo was very helpful, friendly, and professional and makes it a point to keep you updated on your vehicle. When I picked up my car, it was flawless. They even washed it which makes sense to ensure that the paint is consistant when the job is done. The cars are all spread out so you won't have to worry about new dings on your car. You can see all the techs at work and not slacking off. Overall, great place and I would highly recommend this place to anyone passionate about their vehicle's appearance. read more

These guys are master craftsmen. They were the highest rated East Bay shop in Checkbook magazine, so I drove all the way from Danville hoping to get a decent job. My car had significant impact damage. When I received the car back few weeks later, I could hardly believe it: the car looked brand new. The paint job, which body shops usually screw up, was perfect. They even cleaned the interior. As fate would have it, a tire blew out and my car again suffered impact damage. I brought it in and again, after the repairs, drove out with a new car. This shop had a very high rating on Consumer's Checkbook, so I chose it to repair serious front-end damage to a Toyota Prius. Their service was excellent. Not only did the car end up looking better than it did when I purchased it (used), they relentlessly pursued my insurance company that was slow and unresponsive (a real disappointment, as this was a company--State Farm--that had received very high rating in Consumer's Report in the past). I also purchased a newer Prius while the repairs of the one with front-end damage were ongoing and discovered after two months that there was a separation between the front right wheel cover and the hood. I took the car to Allied and they immediately diagnosed the problem--a sloppy repair job by the place from which I purchased the car--and repaired it quickly and perfectly. They are not the fastest nor the least expensive auto body shop, but their work is first-rate. If you value your car and want it repaired expertly, I strong recommend Allied. read more

The service here is fantastic. It was the most reasonable of the 4 quotes I received, and given the positive reviews on Yelp I felt very secure in going with Allied. I had to have my bumper re-painted and it came out looking absolutely perfect. On top of that, they checked my lights and saw I had a headlight out (which I knew, and had gotten a fix it ticket for earlier) and put in a used light they had lying around free of charge. Hit a high curb, crunched lower portion of front bumper, no extensive damage. Well, my car is fixed. Glad for that. The repairs seem to be done properly. What wasn't good was even though I had turned in a written estimate from Geico, with all the forms attached and phone numbers, nothing was billed through them. I had to pay the full $948.50 on the spot. Got home, contacted Geico, had to scan copy of invoice.....end of story it's probably gonna be a good 2 weeks until I see that check since Im a travel nurse working in Berkeley and home address inTexas. Maybe it's best to go here if you have AAA insurance only? It's been years since I had to have repairs like that done, but last time I did that was already taken care no matter what insurance I had or where I took it. read more

My insurance company had them as one of their "in network" shops, Allied is reasonably near my house and I checked out the previous reviews on Yelp (which were good) so I went with them! The work they did is fantastic, they did it in a timely manner, and Peter Brisbo was very communicative and friendly throughout the whole process. Allied is great, Peter (the owner I think) is great, and my experience with them has always been- you guessed it- great. Unfortunately, I've been rear-ended twice and t-boned once and these guys have always done a quality and quick job fixing my car up. They go above and beyond if you ask me and are very easy to work with. They explain things to you clearly, in terms you can understand, but they don't talk to you like you're a moron. They're laid back and pushy and don't ever try to take advantage (like some unscupulous auto folks can). I've always had insurance to pay for my work but their rates seemed very fair. I came to Allied after I had a hit-and-run on my car. My car was in pretty bad shape. The entire front bumper was detached and not drivable. Allied, however, made it look brand new.
