Hi! I really hate giving a one star on any Yelp review. I understand that all of these places are businesses, and running a good solid business is extremely hard. If you go back through all my reviews, I would say I give out so many 4-5 Star reviews. Unfortunately, that's not the case for this review. This business not only messed up and made a huge mistake during my move, cost me more money and time; but they also handled the situation horribly. So, here's my experience working with Allied Cargo Services. I recently just moved from a loft to a home with my fiancé. We used Yelp to search for movers. Based off all the 5 stars, we went with Allied Cargo Services. We paid for 4 movers, 5 hours and two trucks that they provided. Granted, we didn't have much stuff. Boxes, Bins, and two big beds and some dressers. But we booked the extra mover and extra hours to make sure that this move went fast and quick. Movers showed up exactly at the time we booked. They did a walkthrough of the place first to make sure they could move it. Walkthrough inspection will be counted in with your time allocated FYI. So the clock starts on time you make it for. After the inspection, the main guy said ok to do the move. The main guy seemed concerned he wouldn't be able to get it done in time. So my fiancé and I (young and in way better shape than the movers) decided to help move all the boxes and items upstairs and into the hallway for the movers to just grab and put on Dollie's to pack the trucks. Pretty much doing their job for them. We were cooking!! That's two extra people! The main guy, my fiancé, and myself nearly emptied that entire place in 1.5! That means there was 3 other guys outside just grabbing and filling the truck. Sad to say, their crew was not that good. My fiancé and I were stronger than all of them. One guy in their crew seemed to be really old, I was like "you probably can't lift a thing and shouldn't be doing this." After the 1.5, my fiancé and I were like "We paid you guys to do this not us lol. So we told the main guy, there were only a few big items left. Dressers (x2), table stands, and lifting weights. We checked the clock and said you guys should be done in the next hour. We told them to meet us at the house we were moving to and left. That was a big mistake. They somehow showed up 2.5 hours after we left!!! I'm sorry what?!? Once they finally showed up, they emptied everything into the house. We told them just put everything downstairs to make it easy. The main guy said we were over on time, so they added 30 minutes to our time to charge us. In my head, I'm like you started your clock on the time we specified even though they didn't get started for 20 minutes past. They stopped working when we left to milk the clock. Then charged us for extra time...whatever! We tipped all the drivers $160 in total and said Thank you. That's the right thing to do. Well...we went back to the loft to clean it up the next morning, found that they left 1 big dresser, two night stands, my entire weight system and a few other miscellaneous items. We were furious. So I had to call another moving company to rent a truck, hire a mover, and I spent 2.5 hours finishing what they couldn't do. So frustrating. We called and texted the owner of Allied Cargo Services. We told them everything I said above. Our biggest frustrations was there was no communication that any items were left behind and that it cost us more time and money to go get those items. The owner texted us back that she would look into it. After a few days of us asking for a solution (our solution was to be refunded $300 - more than fair. This is actually less than the cost and time of what we spent for their mistake). She finally got back to us and said nothing she could do and to ask the workers for the tip back.... Like we have the workers personal numbers or something hahaha!! What a joke. What a terrible response. Hi Hazel (owner), what a terrible way to handle this. What a terrible solution. This review wouldn't have been a 1 star if handled properly. To all, I would recommend using another moving company. One that has workers that won't milk the clock, can be trusted to move all of your items, (even the heavy ones!), and if things go wrong, a business owner that will do the right thing by their customers. Of course they crushed they are 80% glue and 20% paper. The crush weight is under 4 lbs. No one will even take them if you try to mail anything in them they are banned from Fed Ex, UPS, and USPS. Plus 6 hours for a 1 bedroom which has huge hallways and elevator rides is not that bad. Maybe next time get better packing supplies. read more

The first move was from my 3 bdrm home to a storage unit that they helped me find, the second move was 1 month later from the storage unit to the new place. Jay cursed me out. when moving my my things from my storage, he threw them down and left them in dirt kicked my boxes, shattered all of my prize, possession glass in the boxes that were labeled fragile that he kicked upset because I called to complain that he took an hour for a 15 minute drive. He's extremely unprofessional he ruined my floor and all of my prize possessions. I could not believe I saw him throw my boxes down to kick them. That is only the tip of the iceberg. And let's not start on me having to move my own stuff because he threatened not to. please please please do not use him. He has such a terrible attitude. We chose this company for our local move of our 2 bedroom apartment. We went with them because of their yelp reviews and the price which was $150/hr, 3 guys, minimum 3 hours, no extra or hidden fees, no BS. Scheduled it via phone call and text with Hazel and hoped for the best. Hazel confirmed 24 hrs in advance and Jay, the lead mover, and the other 2 movers showed up 15 minutes early to plan out their route for loading the truck. They started right on time. They got straight to work loading the truck (26' U-Haul) and didn't stop moving until everything was done. They were professional, fast, efficient, careful of our belongings, and wrapped furniture as needed in plastic wrap. Same thing when we got to the new apartment as they carefully unloaded all our belongings. In the end, it took 4 hours because we were moving from a second floor apartment which was situated far from the parking area. The new place has an elevator with a long hallway. So simply walking everything takes a long time. We also have a moderate amount of belongings, though nothing enormous like a piano or large furniture pieces. Ultimately we were very happy with their services, cost, work ethic, and professionalism. We highly recommend this company for your next move. So I asked the employee if he was the owner, and he said no, so my husband called the company and asked them to work a little faster, but one employee who said he is not a owner got angry and asked why you called the company, and then he say he is the owner of the company and said he canceled moving and, threw all the stuff from truck outside and left. They were not working for free, and I was paying for it, he said why were you telling me to do fast? Later, two people from another company came, and they were faster than these three, and they did everything without us having to do anything. This company said that our drawers were heavy and ordered us to take them out. This is the first time I've seen this kind of thing. I chose this company because of the good reviews, but when I see the attitude of that tall guy who is the owner, I think all the reviews here might be fake. We were moving last minute (by last minute, I mean like 2 weeks lol) and the service they provided was more than we could've asked for. I had requested quotes from other moving companies and though everyone was quick to respond and provided the info I had requested to check public records for licensed and insured movers, Allied Cargo Services was our choice for these reasons: - Affordable rates: The quote we were given was within our budget. We didn't have extra time to save up for movers but had a lot of heavy furniture we were not able to move ourselves. - Moving equipment provided: They provided wrapping and moving blankets for us. No extra charge. - No extra truck fee: Some places asked us to rent a truck as they only provided movers. When it came down to finalizing the date, number of movers, and a time, Hazel was so helpful. She was on some personal time and she still made all the efforts to make sure we were taken care of. She let us know that our lead's name was Jay and provided his contact. We had packed our own boxes (I can't say whether or not they offer any services where they pack boxes for you because I did not inquire) and staged about 90% of the boxes for them. What I wish we didn't end up doing was telling them we only need 3 movers instead of 4. We didn't realize how much more work was needed! :( They we're very accommodating when we had requested this, however! No pressure at all. On moving day, we had been contacted before they arrived. They arrived on time and immediately went to work! They were so quick and so careful! They listened to us all the way through and made sure they were only taking the items we were moving. Terrible experience! I'm so upset with how the day turned out. Not only did they take double the time they should have (nearly 4 hours for a 1 bedroom apartment to a storage unit 1 mile away). I was fine paying the hourly fee and I tipped them as well. Unfortunately, within seconds after I got out of their truck I noticed my wallet was missing. I called them immediately to see if I left in the truck. They were adamant that they didn't have it. Well I searched for 2 hours for that wallet and couldn't find it anywhere.
