The dental team, Dr. Taylor and a PA, did their best to get my problem resolved, spent quite a bit of time with me setting up my status for a new, registered patient (Full X-rays and history). Their concern for my comfort was exceptional and unexpected - this practice is NOT like most dental practices that I've been to. I also noted that the entire staff, reception, billing, scheduling, assistant and the DMD herself were all smiling and, it seemed, happy to be working there and so welcoming to a new face. I'm sold. My family and I have been using Dr. Cox for at least 15 years now. Dr. Hanley was originally my dentist but unfortunately isn't practicing medicine anymore. Cox and Hanley were a great team years ago. Everything that needed to get repaired has always been explained in detail and all the work I have had done has held up well. The front office is excellent at billing and makes sure that your insurance deductibles and copays get submitted timely. I've never had any hidden costs jump out and surprise me. I saw a new dentist here on my last visit named Dr. Weiss. He has a great manner and appears to be a very competent professional. I plan on using him in the future. The hygienists/techs are great and as always they have some great stories that you can't respond to because they are cleaning your teeth. The staff was terrific. The dentist spoke to me as if I didn't know what I was talking about. He even argued with me after informing him I had two full hip replacements and was told I would always need to take antibiotics he suggested mouthwash use as a remedy to a throbbing tooth. I…read morecalled Gainesville Family Dentistry because I thought part of an old filling had fallen out from a few years ago. They were very honest and let me know it was actually something else and not my tooth, which I really appreciated. I ended up having a few visits for other things, including a cleaning, and every single time the staff was very nice and welcoming. I had Dr. Habib, who was absolutely phenomenal. He's very kind, efficient, and clearly knows his stuff, which made me feel really comfortable. The office itself is clean, modern, and has state-of-the-art equipment. There's also plenty of parking, which is always a plus. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the billing. A few times my insurance got mixed up, and while I was there, I noticed other patients coming in with billing concerns as well. To be fair, that could be more on the insurance side than the office, but it did cause some inconvenience. Overall, I would definitely recommend them and will continue going back!

When I asked about being called if there was a cancellation, I was told they didn't do that. I told them we would look elsewhere. We found another dentist and are happy. 2 months later, on a Sunday, we got a nasty note saying we were over due for health care, when I spoke with someone in the office today, she advised me there was no record of the text. When asked again, she suggested it was part of their automated system. My spouse is a retired dental hygiene instructor and I am retired corporate management. Extremely poor management and average care.

So, for example, I've never had the same dentist twice. Either the dentist is no longer there, isn't working that day, or whatever the excuse of the day is. Every single appointment has been with a different dentist. Front office is flat out rude; but that type of rude that's done with a smile. Huge "bless your heart" vibes. They also like to play games about insurance, saying that they accept your insurance but then, miraculously, when paying they no longer accept it. Different people get charged different amounts for the same procedures. For example 3 adults in my family all had x-rays, fluoride, and cleaning. Charges ranged from 200 - 450. All of us had the same amount of time, and the itemized receipts (other than the costs) were the same. That was the final straw for us. Even if you were happy with your work, when you leave you're left with the impression of the office being greedy, game players (with your money), and of course... bless your heart.

The office is well run and efficient, the service is way beyond what I have experienced anywhere else and the Dentist is amazing!
