The staff are pleasant, office clean, service efficient. However, this office engages in deceptive billing practices. I was told by Mary, the dental hygienist, that I needed a "deep cleaning" for periodontal issues and that it would only cost me $40 per visit, in addition to my copay. I have never been diagnosed with PD in my years of going to various dentists. She then spent 15 minutes cleaning my teeth with the Cavitron then irrigated my gums with an antibiotic liquid. There was no deep scaling, no x-ray, no exam by a dentist. I paid my bill, as we agreed, and was told that I owed nothing more. However, I received a huge bill for these services, as my insurance refused the "up-charges". I subsequently went to another dentist, paid out of pocket for the care, and was given a full exam, x-rays, etc. and was told that there was no evidence of "periodontal disease" and that deep-cleaning was not needed. Additionally, the new dentist said that a true "deep-cleaning" involved one or two 2-4 hour cleaning sessions, for which I would need my gums to be numbed, it was so painful. I'm here to say, #1, Gainesville Dental Associates will up-charge you for a "deep-cleaning", without a exam or x-rays, then send you an outrageous bill which is far more than agreed upon during the visit. #2. Their billing clerk will not come to the phone to discuss the charges. #3. Wait until you see how much they bill your insurance for, all the charges. When your insurance refuses to pay for this stacked bill, you will be stuck with the unpaid portion. The office takes no responsibility and will not discuss further. Assessed my mouth. Told me with my insurance the total cost would be $211. However each time I visited towards this treatment, the cost seemed more, amounting to $392. Then in addition received an additional bill in the mail stating I still owed an additional $375. On top of this the hygenist refused to give me a cleaning due to "pockets too deep". I went to altschuler periodontics who told me my pockets were fine, the depths were laughably more shallow than I was told. Essentially Altschuler said I didn't need periodontic treatment and just gave me a regular cleaning. Their services came to more than $400. So I went to Gainesville Dental Associates for what I hoped would be a cleaning and ended up paying about $1000 in total for stuff I probably didn't need in retrospect. So in conclusion I was lulled in for treatment by a deceptive promise of cost, and then I received incompetant treatment. Boo !!! read more

They recommended that I apply for a credit card to pay the bill, and I did ! 90 days later I get a bill for almost $700.00 for all the services that was done that I " Wasn't " aware of or did not know that I had "Got" or " Didn't " give my permission for ! They think they got away trying to scam a 70 year old widow, WRONG ! How many others have they done this to ? STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. I have never had such a horrible experience at a dental facility in my life. They provide services not needed so insurance does not cover then you get stuck with the bill. It is impossible to reach anyone due to their "answering service." I left multiple messages over a period of MONTHS and was told the office manager would call me back and never did. They never submitted proper documentation to my insurance to validate claim and I had to pay HUNDREDS out of pocket and likely will have to pay more since they did not submit the proper documentation in time. After MULTIPLE calls, I finally spoke to the "current" office manager and it was not a good experience at all. She actually sounded irritated that I was asking her to submit the documentation that should have been submitted in JULY!!! It is now NOVEMBER. And they are actually sending me bills even though they never rectified the documentation on their end with my insurance. They used to have skilled hygienists and a very pleasant staff but the business was sold and the new management is absolutely horrendous. I also had a REALLY BAD experience at my LAST visit but I feel the suspect billing practices are the most important issue. All I will say about the last visit is that when I tried to explain to the "current" office manager what happened, she was immediately combative, defensive, talked over me, and actually tried to defend EVERY bizarre thing this hygienist did during my visit which I did not complete and left mid cleaning because it was SO BAD. She even tried to claim that I had a complete visit and the cleaning was done. It absolutely was NOT completed. I asked her if squirting water in someone's teeth and light scrapping was a complete cleaning and she refused to answer. It was clear all she wanted to do was claim the service was completed so they could bill my insurance. IF THE CLEANING WAS DONE, WHY DID SHE CALL ME TO RESCHEDULE THE CLEANING I WALKED OUT OF? There is not enough room to describe that horrific experience but it is important to note that not only the billing is suspect but so is the qualification of their "hygienists" and the inappropriate and unprofessional behavior of the office manager of the day. We're both done here. The turnover of staff means there is no continuity of care. Even the dentists change from visit, not to mention the hygienists and the front office staff. They also attempted to charge our insurance company for work that was not performed. Stay away. read more

Quality of care was pretty good but I had a 2 pm appointment and although multiple people walked in after me, they were all called back first. Then someone came in with a 3 pm appointment at 2:50 and they were also taken back first. The receptionist noticed and went back to tell them about me still waiting. A few weeks ago I scheduled my new patient appointment for 10/07/25 asking to combine my new patient appointment with Xray and cleaning. I spoke to a gentlemen named Darrius. He confirmed with me that it would be a 90 minute appointment and that I was scheduled for 10am. He confirmed that he has added the notes for my appointment on what services I would be receiving. Today 10/6/25 at 12:49pm I received a text message that my appointment was being rescheduled. I called to find out why because I had already taken the time off work, and it was less then 24 hours notice. The woman on the phone would not answer any of my questions, she told me that they had to cancel my appointment because the office was closed and that they had me scheduled with an oral surgeon. I asked her why the office was closed on a Tuesday morning and why i was scheduled with an oral surgeon when I specified exactly the services I needed and even had Darrius repeat back to me that he had scheduled me for. She ignored my questions and continued to talk over me asking when I would like to be rescheduled. I tried asking her a few more times if it was written in the notes or anything and why the office would cancel on me lkess then 24 hrs and be "closed" on a Tuesday morning. She continued to talk over me and just ask to reschedule me ignoring my questions so I asked to speak with a supervisor. I am a new patient and this is my first experience with this office and I felt it was important that the superviser was made aware of these big mistakes. She told me that the superviser was not available without even checking which makes me feel like she didnt want to let me talk to her because she didnt want to get in trouble. I asked for her Supervisors name which she said was Deshawna, she said she would "collect my information and will get a call back" not confident that will happen. UPDATE: Apparently there is a separate call center that the office does not like, it is completely destroying the reliability and professionalism of this office. If you do call them be aware of this and ask to speak to the "real office". They are also very very expensive and will itemize every little thing. read more

This office is always running behind schedule. I've also had to walk out after a cleaning since dentist never came in and did a checkup. Have made appointments to be told that I didn't have any. Every time I have an appointment they call to change it to a later date. This time I arrived to the appointment and they said "We have to change the appointment." Takes about 6 months from the original appointment date before you finally get your teeth cleaned. read more

I've been a client of this dental office quite a few years now. Although the staffing has changed, the office experience is just as amazing as it was with the prior staff. Dr Daniel takes great care of your teeth and will work with your budget. Dr Billy will bring a smile to your face. Ayana is my favorite front desk greeter, she takes care of everything. Christine the Dental assistant and the two Hygienists will clean your teeth top notch. Agustin will make sure you check out with a smile. And Jessica, the office manager is kind and an absolute jewel. If I left out your name forgive me. All in all I can say that they take good care of your teeth, they treat you like they want you to come and come back, and they do very very very good work, so if you want to smile while you still have teeth, this is the place to go. read more

I have NEVER had such terrible dental care. There is only a call center available who relays messages to the actual office. I had a root canal which requires a crown. The temporary crown came off within 36 hours (which can happen) but three calls to the "call center" haven't garnered any results. The actual office has yet to return my calls. So, I have an open tooth in my mouth and my permanent crown at the office and I have no way to get in touch with them to let them know I need to be seen immediately! I also have new TMJ pain and am unable to eat. At this rate, I'm going to end up with an infection if not worse!! read more

Don't wait for your appointment to "maybe" happen with this office. I had appointments scheduled seven months in advance for myself and my three kids. The day before my son's appointment, they texted that I need to reschedule. When I called to reschedule, they did not have any other openings for another five months. A couple days later, mine and my daughter's appointments were scheduled on the same day. They texted the day before and said we both needed to reschedule. Again, no other openings for six months. Terrible practice to treat people this way. If they have to reschedule someone's appointment, then it should be on them to fit those patient's in as soon as possible. If you experience the same type of mistreatment, take the time to file a formal written complaint against this office. Dr. Roshkind is a charlatan! He told me I had a cavity behind my top-front teeth. When I went to feel around for it, he said: "You can't see that one." Something about that didn't sit well with me so I scheduled an appointment in a city I was going to be visiting. They found nothing. Dr. Roshkind was going to drill into a healthy tooth (or TEETH) for no reason other than charging me. This was years ago; before Yelp. (This review is long over due.) How many times has Dr. Roshkind unnecessarily drilled into healthy teeth on trusting, unsuspecting patients, I wonder? read more

They have left an immunocompromised person without a crown. After waiting close to an hour for an appt, I was told that my appt had been moved back. I was never informed The dental assistant, Amber, was rude, condescending, and dismissive of my concern after I watched another patient come out and say to the front office girls, "thanks for fitting me in!" I was in shock to be treated so poorly. Not one person has called me and this was on Thursday. I wrote a letter to Dr. Anna's, and I never heard a response. The staff are rude and very unprofessional. Specifically the large blonde middle aged woman though the manager wasn't much better. My husband called for an appointment and was told he would be covered with his insurance but after checking in was told he would be paying out of pocket. Not a big deal that there was an insurance mix up. However, as I was in the lobby waiting for my husband to sort this out, I heard the staff start complaining about him behind the desk and one woman said he was "lacking common sense" amongst other degrading things. She seems to be the one lacking common sense as she was talking bad about clients in the open. Her tune changed when I interrupted them and told them he was my partner but there's really no excuse to be talking about clients the way she was. Rather than just apologizing to my partner for what she said, she claimed I misunderstood and took it out of context and that the comments she said about his age were somehow meant as praise. Funny for them to ask if he wanted to reschedule his appointment after all that. These people are not even capable of sending an email after saying they would 5+ times. Concerned for this office, dental assistant very rude, office staff non professional and just not friendly. I went with a family member and suggested that they leave. Girls at desk not familiar enough with insurances and claims. Seems like they have a lot of staff changes, probably the issue. Dental assistant not experienced enough but yet dentist let them do a bulk of everything and in my opinion do too much. The dentists there need to recognize that dental assistants can damage their reputation. I understand that dental assistants can be trained to do quite a bit, at least have some very experienced polite ones. Family member is leaving the office. read more

I schedule an initially new patient appointment this summer, which I waited 2 months for. At my appointment in August they took x-rays, examined my teeth, and found cavities. I had to wait over a month for a cleaning, and over 2 months to have my fillings. I had a great experience with the dental hygienist at my cleaning. I had to reschedule my filling the week of (mid-October), and the soonest they were able to schedule me for a filling was January... I do not understand why they cannot provide all of the services on one day, initial exam, cleaning, and filling. Requiring 3 separate appointments delays care and put unnecessary burden on the patients. I have never been to a dentist where I have to come back separate for a cleaning and again for a filling. What makes it worse is that the dentist initially told me I could get fillings the same day, but when I went to checkout and schedule, there was a 2+ month wait. They can't even communicate between their own staff... If their patient load is too large, they should not be accepting new patients. New patients should not have to wait months to get treatment. read more

I had an early appointment and I was put in the room, smooth jazz music was playing and the lights were dimmed. I was so relaxed the whole entire time of the cleaning with the subtle mood setting. The gentleman (I'm sorry I forgot your name...because I was so relaxed) who cleaned my teeth did an amazing job. It wasn't the normal scrape, grind, polish and rinse.
