What an amazing experience, thanks to Devin one heck of a hair stylist. Back in October I went to my partners barber and allowed him to high-light my hair. The end result was tragic, my hair was fried and fallen out by the hand fulls, my heart broke because I felt I was gonna loose most of my hair before it was repaired. Randomly I googled colour specialist and repair and came across a few reviews mentioning this miracle conditioner meant to restore hair back to its natural texture and repair from the inside out, doubtful I made an appointment and I must say it was probably the best 110$ I spent in a while, my hair looks and feels better then it did before I let the barber mess with it. In July 2020, I initially went in and had my hair brought back to life. Of course I added in extensions for this, but felt like my natural hair was finally growing out. This last time I purchased new hair and went in for a root touch-up and extensions. My hair that had finally grown out was CHOPPED. I paid over 2k & now I'm not able to wear my hair down completely. I asked to keep my color the way it was & was not listened to. I processed way too long (due to overbooking) & the roots look a nightmare. I wouldn't even leave a review if I didn't feel that the site staff were overbooked and rushed, as I understand things happen. Update: I wish I could say a refund made things right here. I had a consultation done at another place where they confirmed the poor job that was done here. On top Of that, I specifically spoke with Honey about doing color on the day of my appointment at my consultation. At the time of my actual installation appointment, I was told "I know we spoke about color but let's see what it looks like and if you need color at the end". Before honey had even finished putting the extensions in, a client even she admitted she didn't know she had walked in, she was reprimanded in front of me for not saying hi to the client, and then she rushed through finishing the installation, taking all of 2 minutes to trim, and rushing me out the door. I really don't appreciate being accused as a client of things that are wildly untrue and I hope that others will be able to find a better experience than I did. read more

Simply Amazing! I wish I could give Devin 10 stars! I went to A/M Salon with a hair color disaster! I looked like a calico cat and had severe damage. I was desperate and when I called, Devin was kind enough to worke me in the same day. I told her that "Anything she could do would be fine and I'd be happy" (my expectations were very low, given the horrible state of my hair). Devin asked me what had happened and what I was trying to achieve. She recommended I start with a "Reconstructive Conditioning Treatment". I've had treatments like this before at other salons and I've never been impressed BUT the treatment she gave me was nothing short of a MIRACLE! It was a $100 reconstructive condition that was worth $1,000. Devin did a color correction and then a cut and I honestly couldn't believe what I saw. I have had pretty bad luck in life finding good salons/stylist. When I move to Atlanta I tried a couple different Aveda salons and had very bad experiences. I have very fine, blonde, medium-length hair and I HATE seeing streaks from too thick of highlights. In spite of asking for the stylist to take only tiny little potions of hair for the highlights they always treat me like I have thick, endless locks and take way too much resulting in 90's-worthy chunks. But not Hannah! Never have I had a more natural looking color job. It's truly incredible. She uses a different technique that doesn't involve foils. I tried this place as an alternative because my normal hairdresser had to stop seeing clients for personal health reasons and this salon had great reviews. I was desperate to get my roots done and they were able to make an appointment for me the same week I called so I was very excited and optimistic about my appointment. I waited a few days to post because I was extremely frustrated when I left and cried on my way home. It's been a few days and I've washed an styled my hair as usual and I'm still not happy with the way my hair looks. I'm mostly upset that my bangs are uneven so I've been having to pin them back until I get it fixed somewhere else. My haircut is also really uneven, one side sits on my shoulders and the other doesn't even touch my shoulder, which is not what I was expecting or wanted. For how much I paid I'm extremely disappointed. I'd like to give less stars but I'm giving 3 because I did not have the best experience and maybe it was just a bad day for the stylists. I needed a hair cut badly. I moved to the area a little over a year ago, and I couldn't find anyone to cut my mane. My hair is kinda crazy. It's broken the very expensive scissors of another stylist and has been compared to 20 gauge wire. I went to Groupon. This was my first Groupon, and while browsing deals, I was also looking at Yelp reviews in tandem. Many reviews for different salons said that some salons charged the individual more once the Groupon services were rendered, so I was apprehensive. When I came across the Allison McTigue Salon, the small print stated there might be an additional charge for additional product use. I called and spoke with Allison directly to find out what this meant. She said an upcharge would only be for excessive additional product and it would be no more than $10 extra. So a bit the bullet and bought the Groupon. In spite of my aggressively think and wild hair, I was not charged anything additional. I had to wait about 3 weeks to get an appointment with Heather because I could only do Saturdays and it's a 45 minute drive, since I'm from a suburb of Atlanta. Let me say that it was worth the money, it was worth the drive, it would have been worth it if I had paid full price. I was hesitant since there were only two reviews on here, but I'm so glad I went. I went in looking like a feral animal. I left looking like an (overweight) Victoria Secret model. It had been over two years since my last cut, and I think I cut that one myself. (I'm not very good about spending time or money on myself.) I showed Heather a few photos of what I wanted--layers and a bit of framing around my face. I also explained how I probably would be styling it. I explained that I needed an age-appropriate style. She gave me a beautiful cut that I could style myself from home. I couldn't be happier. The salon is small. There are two stations for cutting and styling hair and one for washing. There were three women working in there at the time and only myself and one other customer. It is evident from the size that each customer will get the individualized attention that he or she needs. Heather took some before and after pictures that I will post a little later. From my experience, I recommend Heather. I also recommend the salon. Wow! This salon is amazing! I first went to see them back in July after I had attempted to dye my hair myself during quarantine, which resulted in my hair being several different shades and looking like a disaster. Allison helped fix my hair and came up with a way to do it in one session! I then went back a week ago because I wanted to be blonder and Scott did an amazing job! I found Allison, thanks to a Yelp reviewer who mentioned the key words, "great at cutting curly hair." I had been happy with my stylist, but also felt like she was on auto-pilot when it came to my hair cut and color. We had been doing the same thing for years. I knew I was in good hands with Allison when she sat me down and literally looked at my hair almost strand-by-strand and asked me what I wanted to do, then made her own suggestions. I had been having a single process color to cover my gray for three years and it was starting to turn a brassy red, instead of a warm brown. Allison told me, after thoroughly inspecting my hair, that I didn't have that much gray and then suggested that we do "partial highlights" to blend the gray and keep my natural color. WOW! I loved that idea. And by "partial highlights" it really was more a custom blend of color. It's hard to describe just what Allison does, other than you really get a custom cut and color. She really looks at your facial features and finds a way to highlight the best parts of your face. J No one ever wanted to cut bangs for me, because of my curl, but she did in a such a way that it worked. Having bangs took at least five years off my face and drew attention to my eyes. Allison also recommended the use of a water filter in the shower to protect my hair from the chlorine in DeKalb County water. That has also helped with keeping my color a nice warm color, instead of brassy. At the end of my first visit (I've had two now), Allison told me we were going on a journey. That it was a process to get my hair healthy again and highlighting my best features. Well, I saw results immediately with the cut. And on my second visit with my highlights.
