From the moment I called and was connected with Daniel Vidal in the leasing office, my stress, worries, and concerns disappeared. He was friendly, easy to work with, and walked me through every step until everything was handled seamlessly. I genuinely could not have asked for a better person to guide me through the transition. My advice: don't walk--run. And if you're lucky enough to get in, make sure your experience is handled by Daniel. He delivers the five-star service that makes Alloy the clear winner. Unfortunately, Alloy management is not interested in seriously addressing current residents concerns regarding the condition of the building and is instead writing up tone deaf justifications for everything that goes wrong with the property and its amenities. Residents are clearly displeased with what we are getting for our money yet Alloy doesn't seem to care. There is always something going wrong in this building that negatively affects the residents such as floods, slow or out of service elevators, broken glass that shuts down entire amenity spaces, you name it, yet all we seem to be able to get are explanations. Explanations are not compensation. As renewal approaches in a few months, let's see if alloy changes its tune. I liked living here initially, but the management response or lack thereof when things go wrong with the building has made me reconsider. read more

I've already moved out of this horrid place but I need to express my thoughts on my time living here. The building has a modern look, but the reality doesn't match the first impression. When I toured, it seemed quiet and soundproof, but once the units around me filled up, I realized how easy it is to hear everything, especially dogs barking from above, below, next door, or even down the hallway. Parking is another disappointment: $200 a month for an unreserved spot and $350 for reserved. They make us all park on P2 or P3. P2 is always almost packed w barely any spots left if you come in at night while P1 is completely empty supposedly for guests, and P3 always smells like rotten eggs. On top of the price, cars have been stolen out of the garage, and break-ins on the surrounding streets are common. Management doesn't exactly highlight that when you sign the lease. On top of all that, many of the amenities shown during tours come with hidden monthly fees, so the actual cost of living here ends up being far higher than what you expect going in. read more

Let's start with the fact that management absolutely doesn't care about the residents or what needs to be done in this apartment building. The General Manager, Lauren, is extremely rude and incompetent -- it genuinely feels like she doesn't like people at all. She advises residents who pay thousands of dollars in rent to get a third-party dashcam while cars in her parking garage are being stolen or broken into. And the fact that they charge $250 per parking spot is insane. She even posted her own dog as "Pet of the Month," while the parking gate has been broken for over a year and still doesn't work properly. The main entrance and back entrance doors were broken for well over a month, allowing anyone to walk in, and yet no one is doing anything about it. Packages are constantly being stolen, and once again, management simply does not care. The windows haven't been washed for over a year, and every time they say it will be done "soon," it just gets pushed back with no explanation. The trash chutes are often unavailable because they're either stuck or out of service, and even after multiple maintenance requests, nothing gets resolved. The utility bills are ridiculously inflated -- for a one-bedroom apartment around 650 sq. ft., you'll be paying well over $300 a month despite using energy economically. You'll see charges like $65 for sewer and trash, plus additional fees for hot water and water heating -- and management cannot explain any of it. The sauna lights and the patio lights by the grill area were out for at least 3-4 months. Big river of sewer waste leaking right by the front entrance -- that's the "luxury" you get to walk through and live with every day. The only bright spot in this building is the maintenance team -- they do their best -- but management ruins things faster than those guys can fix them. And yet, when it comes to towing cars, the management suddenly becomes incredibly efficient. They're extremely quick to call the city and have your car towed from street parking without even sending a courtesy email or notice to residents who pay a fortune in rent. This doesn't feel like a great community at all -- it feels like management, frustrated by their own lack of skill and poor performance in keeping the building even half full (with parking barely 30% occupied), take it out on residents by calling the city and having cars towed to force people to park inside the garage. Keep in mind all shit show here run by general manger Lauren , so give yourself a favor and stay away! read more

This is a mixed review because while the building itself is beautiful and truly feels luxurious, our experience with management and enforcement of policies has been frustrating. Our move-in experience set the tone. We were asked to change our original move-in time because another resident was scheduled for the same slot. We agreed and moved our date to the following day, only to arrive and find someone else still using the freight elevator during our scheduled time anyway. We ended up having to share it, which was difficult since we were on different floors, and we felt rushed because the other resident had movers charging by the hour. It made rescheduling feel pointless and left a poor first impression. We were told our apartment would be "ready" for move-in, which we understood to mean thoroughly cleaned. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. While completing the move-in inspection checklist, we found dust everywhere (likely from plaster), paint spills, damaged cabinets, dirty and hand-marked walls, and stains on the bedroom window. This was especially disappointing given that the building is brand new and no one had lived in the unit before. When we brought these concerns to Natalie, we were simply told to write everything down rather than offered a solution or cleaning support, which wasn't what we were hoping for. We later found out that she had already put in her two weeks' notice while working with us during move-in, which made the experience feel rushed and inattentive. It left us with the impression that our concerns were not fully prioritized, likely because she knew she would no longer be with the property. Another thing to be aware of is the number of dogs in the building. We love dogs, but if you're sensitive to noise, this may be something to consider. We had ongoing issues with a neighbor whose large dogs barked throughout the night, leaving us exhausted for work. Management required repeated calls, and we eventually had to record the noise for proof before anything was addressed. The biggest ongoing issue for us has been marijuana smoke. This is supposed to be a non-smoking building, but the policy is not enforced. We specifically paid extra for a Juliet balcony so we could open our door for fresh air, yet we're almost never able to because the smell consistently enters our apartment and lingers. We've reported this issue many times since moving in. Security typically checks the hallway (often the floor below us) to see if they can smell it, which doesn't resolve the problem. Sometimes security is on break, so no one checks for 30 minutes or more. Unfortunately, nothing has changed. We also have concerns about security and communication. The front and back entrance doors are often broken, allowing anyone to walk into the building. Additionally, we rarely receive communication from management about ongoing issues. We usually find out about things like break-ins, floods, or other building problems through other residents rather than official updates. Overall, we truly enjoy living here. The building itself is gorgeous, modern, and feels upscale. However, the lack of follow-through, enforcement of policies, and proactive communication has been extremely frustrating. If management addressed these issues more consistently, this would be an amazing place to live. read more

Don't live here. It was fine and well until it wasn't. Been a resident here for about a year. They recently took in more residents due to flooding in another building and added full capacity basically ruined everything. Our building got flooded as well and broke 2/4 elevators along with tons of floors and apartments having to be repiped due to poor construction the first time. They won't even let me off the hook with the lease nor will they give me any discounts off the rent even though half the amenities are out. Elevators take up to 10 minutes and prepare to be awkwardly hotdogged in there every single time. This place is a mess and gives 0 accountability. read more

I'd give Alloy 5 stars for the maintenance team alone. They've been so prompt to respond to maintenance requests. Big shout out to Ever, who fixed a persistent issue with my faucet that had us stumped. And the front desk is so helpful and kind. In addition to working 24/7 to keep us safe, they make Alloy feel like home. Ever and Tina are the real MVPs! I do wish that I didn't have to pay the $150 ADHD tax each time I discover new ways to lock myself out. But I'm really glad that I moved here, it's a great place to live in the heart of one of LA's best neighborhoods. read more

The apartment itself was nice, but our experience with the manager, Robert, during the tour was very disappointing. He was unprofessional and made us feel uncomfortable by asking inappropriate and overly personal questions about our finances and bank accounts, even though we were simply there to view the apartment. At one point, he even commented that we were not fancy enough for the property, which was both unnecessary and disrespectful. When searching for a place to live, professionalism and respectful communication from the management team are just as important as the apartment itself. If not, they will get ticketed or towed. - Expensive $200+/month cost for parking space, all poorly managed by Douglas Parking company - No communal EV charging unless you pay $500+/month for a dedicated EV spot. I lived at Alloy, and unfortunately my experience wasn't very positive. The building had constant noise, construction, and a lot of growing pains that made day-to-day living pretty difficult. The one true bright spot was Robert in the leasing office. He was incredibly patient, kind, and genuinely helpful throughout the entire process. Thanks to him, we were ultimately able to secure a move-out, and his professionalism really reflects the kind of potential the building could have with the right support. this place really feels like a little escape from the city from the moment you walk in, everything feels calm, clean, and taken care of. it doesn't feel like a typical apartment building... it feels more like a resort you get to come home to every day the amenities are honestly my favorite part. the spaces are beautiful, well designed, and actually enjoyable to spend time in. whether it's the pool, the gym, or just the common areas, everything feels intentional and relaxing the building is always well maintained, which makes a huge difference. you can tell there's real care behind how this place is run and beyond that, it just feels good to live here. peaceful, elevated, and comfortable in a way that's hard to find definitely one of those places that makes your everyday life feel a little better read more

I've lived at Alloy 3 weeks, moving from DTLA's Financial District. It's a very welcome change for many reasons. Greystar and the construction team have made a phenomenal residence. Workmanship and materials are top-notch throughout; the on-site maintenance team makes sure things stay that way. Leasing manager Robert D was and is extremely helpful getting me settled. His hospitality is infectious; you can feel it across every team from security/concierge (Anthony, Jay) to 3rd-party parking management to every employee on grounds. Alloy is built in a "resort" style. Amenity choices are plentiful so you can live, work and play in DTLA without ever leaving the site. (But it's the Arts District - who'd do that?). They're upscale and easy to use, reserved or accessed easily by key fob or RE app. Neighborhood attractions include cafes, coffee shops, great restaurants and cool bars within walking distance. The area is well-policed, convenient and safe. Two last notes: maintenance is ON it for any issues. I entered works orders on a Saturday to correct minor move-in items (paint touchup, AC filter alert - it's a new building - nothing urgent). All were fixed by Sunday Noon. Wow. The landscape team is a company called "Clockwork" (as in "precise," "dependable."). Their company color is Orange. Somebody's - film buff with a sense of humor.... I love it, I strongly recommend Alloy, Greystar and the Arts District. Best neighborhood in LA. read more
