Very caring and attentive staff, if a little overextended. It's obvious they're very busy here, but they make every opportunity to help you and your pet in a timely manner. My old cat Jonesy has bad teeth (we brush and add a dental supplement to his water everyday), so we brought him here for a check-up. After some blood work the doctor found out he had renal failure as well. He stayed overnight at their clinic, had some more tests done, then had his teeth cleaned the next day. The staff here are very skilled and know what they're talking about. They obviously don't try to push products on you to make themselves more money. I think this is why Jonesy's overnight and treatment came to be so reasonably priced. I hope they are around for a long time, as I feel I've finally found a vet clinic good enough to replace Cat Clinic that closed down a few years ago. read more

Would not recommend. I tried to schedule an appointment for my chinchilla (a previous patient) but they don't return calls or emails, apparently. My chinchilla ultimately had to be euthanized at another vet for cancer, which obviously isn't Allpets' fault, but perhaps if they would return calls we could have diagnosed her sooner and she could have suffered less. They are also extremely inconsiderate of owners' time and will happily make you wait hours to pick up your pet or a medication. They are clearly understaffed, yet as an exotic animal vet also clearly have a clientele. Not really sure why that doesn't translate to hiring staff. Are the working conditions as bad as the client conditions? That's kind of the only explanation that makes sense. Avoid. read more

I brought my bunny here three months ago and she was suffering from a parasite. She was given medication and after talking to the vet I wanted to give her a chance. A month after daily feeding and medicine she had good days and bad. Days when I thought she could turn around then the days that I knew it was over. The vet told me I made the right decision when it was time to let go which helped me immensely. I was given about six extra weeks with my girl. We put her down and the clinic offers a service of cremation then she will be buried under an apple tree. I live in an apartment and couldn't give her any better than what this clinic could offer my beloved pet. read more

I cannot speak more highly of this amazing little clinic. I have been taking my 16-year-old Golden Retriever, Duke, here for a few years now (there was a little stint where I went somewhere else for the sake of not having to drive far - BIG mistake) and from my experience, all of the staff members and the doctors (I have seen two but I believe Dr. Obegi is the main Veterinarian now) have always done an outstanding job. Some main points that I particularly want to point out and appreciate include: - They have a texting feature that I have utilized numerous times at moments I thought were looking really grim for my guy. I greatly prefer information in writing over spoken form for the sake of keeping record for future reference and this clinic helps me do just that. The insight and care they have been able to provide simply over text has been astonishing and more than I could say for other clinics that I have ever taken my pupper to. - I have never felt pushed into doing any procedures or purchasing medications from them - they are the fartherst thing from feeling "salesy". The doctors have always given me a comprehensive rationale as to what and why they are wanting to do a procedure and/or administer something, and I have never felt like I was being taken advantage of or made to feel incompetent. - From what I have observed, they seem to really love the vast array of animals that come into the clinic - including my old guy that needs quite a bit of assistance in simply being able to stay upright and walk; I get nervous because Duke requires so much assistance, but they are incredibly accommodating. Shoutouts I would love to mention from off the top of my head include Dr. Obegi (who of which makes a crazy commute over from Sequim to tend to her practice and her animal patients), Jenna, Georgee, Zoe, and Jen (and to anyone else that I am forgetting!): I appreciate you all so much. This clinic shouldn't be offering care to rabbits. I don't think diagnostics are run enough and I felt waived off multiple times. I later figured out what was going on by myself and with the help of an emergency vet (because Allpet didn't address the problem I kept saying she had and it got really bad) not to mention the other vet I saw completely disagreed with the drugs she sent me home with. I also brought her to Allpet thinking she was a spayed rabbit, as the shelter that I got her from indicated that she was. The doctor at Allpet, Dr. Obegi, told me my rabbit was actually likely intact. I spent $400 for a spay at a different dr to find out that she was spayed. I just felt like a lot of this could've been avoided with the proper diagnostics and I basically just wasted my money here because I needed to go see doctors that knew what to do and believed me when I said my rabbit was ill. It was hard to ask questions as they take days to respond and they often respond with patronizing and general rabbit info. It was impossible to have a conversation that was unique to my pet's situation. I suggest finding an exotics specialty if you have any situation other than a healthy rabbit. read more

I want to like this place because they work with the resuce that i got my cats from but I just dont. They are too small of a shop, too understaffed, and way too busy to be affective in pet care. Let alone, they don't do anything in front of you as far as pet care. On my first and only visit they took my 5 month old kittens into the back to give them shots and trim their nails. 1. I didn't ask for their nails to be trimmed and they cut them so short they were bleeding (yeah I noticed) and 2. All I hear is my kittens screaming from the back room with no idea how they are handling them. If this was a human baby it would never happen like that. Also, I can't confirm if I got it from this place but they missed that my kittens had ringworm (a skin fungus). It can have a larger incubation period but within two or 3 days of being there they were massively infected. read more

Dr. Ogebi and team are so incredible. We bring our Guinea pigs to her. It's after 10pm, and we're in the parking lot waiting to pick one of our little guys back up after a ruptured eye. They squeezed us in with a noon drop off. They have been working 15 hours today and that's a usual day for them at this point. I know how exhausted they must be, and yet they are so kind to us and our pets. There aren't enough words to express my gratitude for these folks. They're the absolute best for small animals. This vet does NOT care its pets and/or their owners at all. Not only do they provide inaccurate, inconsistent information (e.g., one of my pets had one type of disease in the morning, then a different one in the evening), they also have no respect for anybody's time. Recently, what was supposed to be a simple exam turned into a terrible experience-after making me waiting 45 minutes in the rain, they refused to provide any health updates on my pets. To make matters worse, Karen (not even the meme), the Doctor, came out and yelled at me for several minutes when I politely requested to get an update. She was incredibly rude, condescending, and slammed the door in my face when I tried to respond, without even listening to me. Taking your pets here would be an incredibly poor decision and I would NEVER recommend this vet to anybody. Please do NOT bring your pets here. read more

My cat is dead. He died of kidney failure. I did not know to ask for his blood work to be done to check his kidneys, but apparently they should have known that given his age. His death could have been prevented with a different diet if only I had known. My heart is broken. read more

I would not recommend this place to any pet owner. This vet is very small and I don't like that you cannot go back with your animals when they're being examined. I brought my two kittens here, recently adopted, with some diarrhea issues. I was told to come back around 5pm when they would be finished with their exam. I came back and was kept waiting for over an hour and a half, with zero explanation as to what was going on. In that time, they also completely forgot to perform an FIV test, which is very needed and expected for kittens. The probiotic they gave me for their diarrhea did not help them at all. I had to go to a different vet just a few days later and received an antibiotic which has helped. I will not be going back to this vet. OH. How could I forget, they also had the most obnoxious office bird making relentless noise in the back. AWFUL. read more

New bunny owners; This vet is fantastic. We had concerns that we're not addressed by our other vet who is apparently less rabbit savvy and we ended up bringing her here. Farther away from home but much more worth it. Their prices are more than fair and their staff clearly care. We were able to drop her off all day so they could look at her when they had the chance. they ended up staying till at least an hour after closing (when we picked her up) and the vet came out with her and talked with us for about 20 minutes, giving us very valuable information about our new pet and how we can better her diet. I just moved to Seattle and didn't know where to take my two-year-old doggie. After searching Yelp, I found Allpet and was absolutely thrilled with the experience. Dr. Obegi was amazing not only with Rico my pup, but also with me since I tend to get very nervous whenever I have to take him to a vet! They spent time with the check-up and answered any questions I had about everything. Concerns about bringing Rico to a new state, with a different environment were thoroughly explained, and I feel much more at ease. Dr. Obegi has an awesome approach with our animals and I really appreciate her letting you be involved in the process instead of " your dog needs this and it's $3000" period. She goes over various approach's and costs, and really makes you feel important. Our old lady (13yr old pekingese) was having what I "diagnosed" as seizures. She would be running around and then suddenly stop, pull one arm up and flip on her back. Scared me greatly. After this repeated 2more times I brought her into Dr. Obegi. She gave her a complete check-up and said, yes it may be seizures or it may be something as easy as a tweaked shoulder--why don't we put her on some pain meds and have her take it easy for a week and see if this makes a difference before beginning the expensive process of diagnosing her and treating her for seizures. Great! We did as planned and her episodes stopped immediately with the pain meds and rest. Saved us probably hundreds of dollars. I have referred a few friends and neighbors to Dr. Obegi since starting and they've been equally pleased! My neighbor has a 12year old yorkie, got an estimate for a teeth cleaning from her vet for $700! I told her to try AllPet and she got the exact same job done for $300. Dr. Obegi has been an excellent find. She has been wonderful with my cat - she's caring, kind, approachable and very comprehensive in her diagnostics and explanations. She's also very pragmatic when it comes to at-home care and suggestions. I can tell that she really cares about my cat, and is always very gentle and nurturing when tendering treatments. She has a very calm and soothing effect on him too, which is comforting in stressful situations. Her follow-up calls to see how things are going are always appreciated. Access to appointments is also very easy and when there are urgents that pop up, Dr. Obegi makes herself available. Her assistant Jen is also a great asset. She's knowledgeable, compassionate, responsive and also incredibly gentle. She's also very mindful of pet-owner's pocketbooks and explains the priorities and costs of treatments, as well as offers less-expensive solutions. I know Dr. Obegi looks forward to moving into a new clinical space that will be more modern and able to accommodate upgraded diagnostics and more pets. I always get a weird feeling when I'm here, like I'm not welcome. Both the receptionist and Dr. Obegi are cold, and they don't appreciate my efforts to stay involved with my pets treatment (to the point of shutting the door in my face when I'm trying to see how they're administering doses to my cats!) I do believe the reviews about being overpriced are FAKE. Dr. Obegi's office is professional and welcoming and they have the BEST prices I have come across. I came from the clinic up in Bothell and they charged three to four times what I pay here for the exact same procedure. I was referred to Obegi by a local chinchilla breeder in the area (Linda). Obegi does all of Linda's chinchilla's routine teeth trims and has been more than pleased over the span of many years. She treats my chinchilla's wonderfully. She has held my chinchilla passed closing hours when traffic took a bit longer than usual. She was kind and only charged me for the services that were provided nothing extra (unlike the Exotic clinic in Bothell). She has never tried to force me to pay for ungodly antibiotics and tests that were not necessary. I have received nothing but professional work and attitude from all of the kind staff. On one certain visit, a young couple was having a kitten put down for some serious reason and all I could hear and see was the never ending sympathy from Obegi and her staff. The young couple left reassured and cared for. Anyways, thank you for allowing a student to afford the best care for my pets without giving up an arm and a leg to do so. read more

I did not like the way this vet handled my dwarf hamster. She kept her pinned down completely under a washcloth even when she was done examining her and was talking to us. I'm surprised she could breath. I know she needs to restrain her while doing a physical, but she did so in an unnecessarily rough manner. She seemed to lack compassion for her and kept calling her feisty and saying things like "oh, you're going to be like that..", and not in a humorous way. Of course if you handle her like that she's going to be feisty. She didn't really seem that interested in finding out what was the problem was since it wasn't an easy answer like mites. I spent over a hundred dollars there trying to figure out what is wrong with her, and it's still inconclusive "Well, I guessss it could be this, we could tryyy antibiotics and see if that works.." And I thought it was pretty ridiculous for them to charge for another whole visit when I had to bring her back because she got the first diagnosis wrong. I mean, come on.. And she was wrong the second time too. They seemed more concerned about the money than anything else. read more

WE LOVE ALLPET VET CLINIC!!! We have a grand total of 11 rats...each and every one of them has been seen in this clinic. Our older girls were treated by Dr. Obegi. They had lumps removed and were also spayed. When we had to put down 2 of our older girls, they treated us AND our pets with so much compassion and respect. Dr. Obegi allowed us to take all the time that we needed to say our goodbye and give last cuddles and loves. We cried in that exam room...over a RAT, and EVERYONE from the Dr. herself to the receptionist was understanding and so compassionate! We even got a free paw print of each of our girls! Our 7 younger girls and our 3 boys have mostly been seen by Dr. Rickel. When our 7 girls were spayed (by Dr. Rickel herself) one had tore open her stitches on the way home. We called the clinic ASAP (it was JUST after closing time!) and not only did they answer the phone, when the receptionist called Dr. Rickel who was on her way home, to let her know what happened, SHE TURNED AROUND AND CAME BACK INTO THE CLINIC!!! We met her there with our rat and she put staples in our girl and gave us some antibiotics to prevent infection! AMAZING! I don't know of any other vet who would have go out of their way for a pet rat! Our 3 boys have all been treated for intestinal parasites, respiratory infections (they came to us with those!) and our "problem child" was just diagnosed with a inner ear infection. Never once have we ever felt pressured to get a test or procedure for our brood (in fact, Dr. Rickel was actually very honest and said that she didn't feel our Problem child needed another fecal test to recheck for parasites because his poop was no longer runny or stinky and he was eating perfectly healthy! She SAVED us 20 something dollars!) They have left antibiotics for our boys on the porch in a lock box when we were unable to get there before closing and allowed us to pay for it at another visit. They try to cut down our bill however they can (they do a litter check where we can bring the whole brood in and we pay a flat fee) they have allowed us to bring in two rats for a check even though only one was on the schedule. After our boys were neutered they called to check up on them. Our Problem Child had tore his incision the night before but after cleaning up the blood we realized it wasn't as bad as we thought. Dr. Rickel had us take pictures of the tear and sent them to her so she could inspect the damage and decide if our PC needed to be seen (he didn't) but the fact that she cared enough to even LOOK at our situation and make the call that he was OK meant the world to us. As a rat owner, I couldn't imagine taking my exotic pet anywhere else. Amazing service, Amazing people. We will be with this clinic for a long time! read more

I will start by saying my experience here was to have my sick senior cat put down. I recently moved from Massachusetts a few months ago and my old cat hasn't taken the move well. A few weeks ago she stopped eating or drinking, was incontinent and throwing up foam. My regular vet doesn't euthanize, and on top of that I had a trip out of the country I couldn't cancel. I left my cat with a pet sitter who updated me on how she was doing, after a few days it was clear my love was suffering, I gave my OK to take her in. I was able to call Allpet and get an appointment for the next day, I had arranged with them to pay the bill when I returned. From all accounts it was a very nice, peaceful and loving way to go for my sweet kitten. The problem however was when I returned. I discovered that they had asked my pet sitter for payment, which she felt obligated to pay, even though I had told both her and the clinic that I would pay, even offering a card number if they wanted it then. The worst part however is when I went to pick up her paw print. It had only been a few days and I was still feeling pretty emotional. I ask the receptionist for the bill and my paw print and after much confusion she determines that the bill had been paid, showed me the charge on her monitor. It clearly said what the charge for. Then she went and retrieved the boxed paw print from the back. She handed it to me with a 'here you go, have a good night.' Not a single word of comfort, condolence or sympathy! No 'I'm so sorry, or sorry for your loss', just a here you go. The over all experience wasn't bad, they were able to help me in a very hard time. But the last interaction was like a punch to the stomach or a slap to the face. read more

This is the best vet I have ever taken my pets to. They were so kind and gentle with my geriatric cat. Dr. Rickle even got some plaque off of her teeth without any fuss at all. When I try to look at my kittens' teeth it is a struggle of epic proportions! There was a bit of a wait while they took care of an emergency situation, but I didn't mind. Dr. Obegi has been my cat's vet since before I adopted him, when she was doing work with Animal Talk Rescue. When Buddy adopted me, a free vet examination was included to go to the Allpet Veterinary Clinic, and that's we've gone ever since. Dr. Obegi and her staff are always helpful and gentle when dealing with Buddy, and while Buddy isn't pleased with getting his shots and such, he really has no complaints. My only problem with the office is that it's not easily accessible, since I use a walker, but I would crawl up the steps if I had to in order to get my kitty to his vet. read more

I would give 0 stars if it weren't for my positive interaction with Dr. Obegi and some of the vet assistants. However, I do not appreciate how Allpet Veterinary Clinic does business and will not be returning. All my pets go to Banfield Pet Hospital, and while their yelp reviews aren't the best, I have always had a wonderful experience because of their comprehensive health services. I adopted a kitten yesterday and was advised to visit Dr. Obegi since she is aware of his health history. The pet rescue also uses Dr. Obegi's services for their shelter needs. I called to make an appointment and stated that I wanted to schedule the free vet exam, as promised by the pet rescue, because of the adoption. The receptionist set up the appointment and told me to bring a fecal sample for the exam. There was no mention of any additional costs. Everything was going seemingly well, despite the overpriced flea medication ($26 at Allpet vs $16 at Banfield), and quick exam. After the exam and saying our goodbyes and thank you's, I was almost out the door when the receptionist said that I needed to pay. Confused, I stated that I was promised a free vet exam, and the receptionist said that does not include the fecal exam. First of all, I did not even ask for the fecal exam, so I assumed it was included in the initial exam. In my experience, Banfield includes the fecal exam in the initial vet exam and seems to do a much more comprehensive initial vet exam. It seemed pointless to argue at this point, and so I paid and went on my way. Maybe I should have been a better consumer and asked about costs upfront. But seeing how I asked for the free exam, and was told me to bring in a fecal sample, I would not have even known to ask if there were extra costs. Receptionists, please be upfront with your customers; it's a good business model to live by. read more

My "boyz" (cats) have been going to Dr. Obegi since 2008. The last 5 days have been a bit stressful with Amante sporting a very high fever. Dr. Obegi and her staff were absolutely wonderful. They called to check in on him, took great care of him for the day, and by doing so, took great care of me! I TRUST Dr. Obegi. She is brilliant when it comes to understanding the meds and the options and the reasons... and I'm someone who really needs to understand to feel secure with treatment. With that, she is also reasonable and conservative with testing that may not give us answers. Her main concern was getting Amante back to himself. And she succeeded. Having a vet that knows my cats means a lot to me - and I am sure it means a lot to them too, even if that expression does get mixed up with a hiss here and there... :-) read more

I was referred to Allpet when I adopted a 7 year old cat from Animal Talk. I loved and still love Dr. Obegi's calm, efficient knowledgeable handling of my pets. Her manner helps my pets to calm down and bear them the visit with the best possible grace a cat can produce in such a "trying" experience. She answers my questions seriously, and helps me take the best possible care of my animals. I also like her staff. They know my pets and have helped me bandage my wounds and clean up the cat carrier when necessary. Dr. O once again came through for my dog. I had noted a spot on his belly that seemed a little odd. Brought my dog in and she instantly knew what it was - mast cell cancer. She did a biopsy to confirm, called me with the results the next day and got him in for an ultrasound and chest xray to be sure it hadn't spread. We had surgery that same week and he's recovering well. Good news is its a grade 2 so no further treatment other than monitoring. Dr. O moves fast when it matters! read more

I've been taking my pets to Dr O since she took over the practice in 2005-2006. She has removed tumors, drained abscesses, treated respiratory ailments, performed spays and neuters, and done pretty much anything else that can be done to a rat, hamster or guinea pig. While I occasionally go to a vet who is closer to my home for emergency care, no one performs surgery on my animals but Dr O. She knows the insides of rodents like the back of her hand and stays up to date on new surgical procedures. If you have a sick rodent or cavy, Dr O is where to go! read more

Dr. Obegi and Dr. Rickel are outstanding veterinarians. I recommend them to all of my friends, especially for rats and other small mammals. I have brought several of my rats here for routine checkups, tumor removal, euthanasia, neuter/spay, and other illnesses like respiratory and abscess. I have always received very good care and great service from the rest of the staff as well. Having a pet euthanized is never a good experience, but the doctors and staff here are very sensitive, caring, and make it a lot more bearable. I am really glad that I was able to find a vet that I can completely trust to treat my rats and guinea pigs. They also charge very fair and reasonable prices in my opinion, even for complicated things like surgery. read more

Took my cat here a long time ago as he needed stitches. Our regular vet was on vacation and our cat was attacked had needed stitches. The doc used these large staples (at 10$ each) and they kept falling out. Poor demeanor with my sweet cat and expensive bill. This was about 5 years ago and looking for a vet for my pup. read more

I found Dr. Obegi through the animal shelters I have done volunteer work for - Animal Talk Rescue (now called SAFR) and Missy's Rescue. She does a TON of pro bono work for both of them on an ongoing basis. Additionally, she has the most reasonable prices for all of the care I've needed for my cats in the past, and the two times she has referred me to specialists for complicated surgeries, I've been very happy with those hospitals as well. She's saved three of my cats' lives on several occasions (all my cats are now elderly and have had ongoing health problems) and, during my volunteer work, I've seen her save cats, dogs, and reptiles who other vets said could not be saved. I would trust no other vet more than I trust her, paws down, any day of the week. read more

If I had the chance to give no stars to this vet I would! . My previous pup history with this clinic was: I just moved in the area a few years ago. Lost my old Rott to cancer, which Dr. Obegi was so kind during that whole trauma. I also had my younger 3 year old Rott one year later, literally drop dead due to a genetic heart defect that we had no idea she had. In all of that Dr. Obegi was very kind and the staff was supportive. I just got a new puppy and decided to go to them to support a local business and because of my history with them. I want to start by saying that the staff is very nice, my only issue is with the one vet we recently started seeing there, Dr. Jana Rickel. I also feel the need to say that I worked for an amazing vet in previous years and know how a vet clinic should be run. Unfortunately, I do not live near that vet anymore, so I was unable to go there with my new pup. This office doesn't do pup exams in front of you, they take your dog into a back room and perform all injections and the exams back there. My first major issue with this clinic, is that I am not present for anything involving my new pup. They are a small facility, so I understand sometimes that is necessary, but not when the office is literally empty and no one is there. When they take your puppy back, they are charging you $50.00 for an "exam" that you are not present for, just FYI. As previously mentioned, Dr. Jana Rickel has been the doctor that we see. She made me feel pressured into giving vaccines that in my history with those vaccines cause reactions. When I caved and agreed to do the Lepto injection, just as expected my pup had a reaction to it. He threw up three times and was lethargic for several hours after. It was not a horrible reaction, but still something I felt I should make the vet aware of at his booster inj apt today. When I made her aware of that reaction she scolded me for not bringing him back immediately. I told her it wasn't super bad and had subsided in several hours. To which she still continued to scold me for not bringing him back. When we moved passed that awkward moment and discussed the fact that he does need the booster, but there is a medication to help with the reaction that takes 30 minutes to kick in. I mentioned I had to get back to work and that would be difficult for me today, but maybe we could reschedule. She clearly said to me "If you are going to abandon your dog to go to work, perhaps it would be best for you to leave him with us today." Firstly, my dog comes with me to work EVERY day. Secondly, there are much better ways to voice your concern that the dog needs to be monitored. When I asked to leave and take my dog with me and asked they give him back to me, she proceeded to say "I am sorry if I am a little preoccupied with a crying child who just lost his rat." Keep in mind, said child came and left and was not currently in the office. Not that I am not sympathetic to that trauma as I just experienced it myself losing my young Rottie that was totally healthy to my knowledge. I responded to that comment with "You are extremely rude." to which she replied "I am sorry you feel that way." During all of this they still wouldn't go get my dog! I had to say several times, give me my dog and I want to leave, before they finally got my dog and gave him to me. I felt very judged as a pet owner, judged because I wasn't, in her mind, aware or sympathetic of the child that had just come in about 15 minutes earlier, I felt like they were holding my dog hostage and I couldn't believe how rude and unprofessional she was to me when I calmly voiced my disappointment in the way I was being treated. I got no apology from her other then, "I realized after I said it that I shouldn't have said the word "abandon" to you as that may be seen as harsh." MAY????? I STRONGLY urge anyone considering going here to NOT go here. There are other local vets in the area that would never treat a customer so rudely and hopefully have the decency to express concerns in a more professional manner.
