This clinic is top notch - I've lived with my dog and other animals I have fostered in several cities in CA, AZ, WA, OR, NV. I've seen it all and this clinic has surprised me at every turn. I brought my elderly dog in as an emergency patient days after relocating to the area with no prior appointments. They were able to fit us in immediately with Dr. Almendinger - and what an incredible doctor she is! Dr. Almendinger showed great compassion for my dog during the visit and gave me consistent positive regard throughout, answering all my questions and listening carefully to my concerns. I left with necessary prescriptions in hand, detailed instructions and a thoughtful follow-up care plan including booking follow up appointments. The clinic was upfront about all tests, procedures and costs and open to my ideas on treatment plan. Costs were the same or lower than what I've experienced at other local Seattle clinics (we have also lived in green lake and Fremont). Dr. Almendinger also went through my pet's records and identified some recurring themes that no other vet has picked up on. On request, she gave me a list of tests to consider to rule out certain conditions and make an improved treatment plan that she thought would improve my dog's overall health and quality of life in her golden years. The front desk staff was proactive about getting us scheduled for follow ups and provided me a copy of Dr. Almendinger's notes via email on request. There was plenty of parking out front and the waiting room was comfortable with areas to take pets who are shy or skittish to wait. I saw a few folks with cats doing this. They had a coffee station too which is a nice touch, though I didn't use it in any of my visits. Overall, I can honestly say my experiences here (after a handful of visits) have all been exceptional. Look like the place is mostly just out for your money. They refused to do a fecal test and without an additional exam (extra 90$). When I asked to reconsider, they dragged their feet for a day. I had to give the a call and they still claimed their 'policy'. They might say it's for the benefit of the pet, but then why do they push their online pharmacy? The meds from there took more than a week to arrive meaning that poor dog was dealing with the parasite way longer than she should. read more

The building has plenty of parking, and when I arrived on a weekday, the space was clean and calm. We were seen right on time. The staff was incredibly friendly and clearly love animals--they even offered Maya a treat to help her relax. I wish I remembered the staff names to shout them out. The vet was kind, informative, and patiently answered all my questions. She also provided a detailed breakdown of treatment options and pricing, which I really appreciated-everything felt transparent and fair. Compared to past experiences, I felt very at ease here. I trust the team and will definitely be bringing Maya back for future visits. The only downside was the wait time; I had to book a general check-up about two weeks in advance. I have two Siamese kittens that needed vet care and vaccines. I take the kittens there for their appointments and I like that better than drop off. The vet tech and vets are knowledgeable kind and not pushy. I haven't yet decided on spay for one of them. I have been warned about difficult pet behavior from unspayed female cats. The deposit and price quotes are very helpful. No upselling which is nice. My daughter brings her bunnies here. All staff are lovely. read more

I moved about a year ago and switched to this vet. I've been so happy with my cat's care here! They're very thorough. Some things I appreciate: (1) Drs. Meredith and Allmendinger are so caring and gentle. I don't feel rushed by them. I feel like they listen and are good at answering or following up on my questions. I also appreciate how they explain their recommendations and are very transparent about the costs of care. As a healthcare provider myself, I appreciate that they help the client make educated decisions about their pets' care. (2) My cat is anxious. He hates crates and he hates car rides even more. Every time I take him to the vet, he poos, pees, and vomits. I've tried everything I've read or been advised to do, to no success. The staff here has always been understanding and helpful in cleaning Brutie and his crate up. (3) On that note, Dr. A prescribed something for his nausea and anxiety. I tried it for the first time on his last visit and it was the best visit we've had! Within 10 min of coming home, Brutie didn't hide. He was ready for snacks and affection. Oh my goodness, I am so so glad that we found this clinic! We brought our 13 week old puppy to them a few days after we picked him up. From the initial encounter with Bethany, we were already sold on them due to Bethany's warm, personable, and caring nature. We knew we made the right decision when we met with Dr. Meredith, who was so knowledgeable and patient with us. He listens to all of our considerations and even followed up via email with a pertinent article. Our pup had his first bout of GI issues recently. We called and they had a plan for him right away (without having to wait to be seen). After little progress within 24 hours, they had us come in with a stool sample, analyzed it within the hour, and had a treatment available for us to pick up. I'm adding a review for another wonderful doctor at NSVC - Dr. Windom! My dog has seen her a couple of times in the past and has had a great experience. Recently, he experienced some digestive issues that didn't resolve and I just dropped in on an early Saturday morning and she squeezed us in. I followed up with another issue after that and she was going above and beyond in her communications - very timely and during after hours in the evenings which was not an expectation on my part but much appreciated. She also made a note to have the office call to check in on my dog. Special shout-out to the front desk support staff, Brooke in particular who answers all of my questions with sympathy and patience, as well as the vet techs! Having been to other clinics, I have to say NSVC creates a warm, welcoming environment for all. My dog gets super excited at appointments and not nervous at all. I rarely write reviews on here, so it means something that I'm taking the time to give these folks 5 stars. We moved from Capitol Hill four months ago and had been taking our Boston Terrier, Lenny, to Urban Animal for the first 3 years of his life. We loved Urban Animal for its convenience and efficiency and we were pretty happy with them! Fast forward to our move and we had to look for a new vet for Lenny. I did a lot of research and saw that North Seattle Veterinary Clinic kept popping up with amazing reviews so I reached out and contacted them. Lenny had his first routine exam with Dr. Craig Meredith and it went very well, with Dr. Meredith calling me in the middle of the exam to let me know additional details. It turned out he needed his teeth cleaned, so I scheduled a follow up appointment, which would require him to be under anesthesia. As an overly concerned helicopter doggo parent, this worried me due to the risks involved, but the folks at the office answered all of my Qs and helped calm me down. His procedure went well and Marit and Katie were phenomenal at communicating with me every step of the way via texts. I knew he was in good hands and it made me feel good knowing he was in good hands. I love this place and cannot recommend it enough. We've been taking our dogs here for many years, and can't say enough good things about the doctors and staff here. They've helped us through check ups, emergency surgeries, long term pain management for joint issues, anxiety chewing, incontinence, you name it. And when the time came for each of our elder pups to cross the rainbow bridge, these folks provided warm and comfortable space for us to curl up on blankets with our furkids so that we could hold them as they passed. We're now without pets but, when we adopt again (and we will after we grieve for a while), we'll definitely keep bringing our animals here. read more

I have never in my entire life encountered front desk clinic staff more unprofessional, disorganized, or lazy. Complete lack in any genuine interest, or sympathy in assisting me after my cat suddenly died. I just wanted them to return his blanket to me. My cat came in for a simple procedure, became suddenly, unexpectedly, gravely ill the next day, and died the following day. The day after he died, I called the clinic to get his blanket returned to me. The doctor said they will look for it. Waited.. no call back about the blanket. Call back the next day, was told, "I'll get back to you". Waited.. no call back about the blanket. The next day, called again, spoke to someone who sounded completely confused as to who I was or why I was calling. Finally said something about a note being left for a tech that was there when my cat was there, that was not in that day, and they were waiting for them to get back. I told them, why they can't just look for it themselves now? I thought, how many places could it be? This is not a 15 floor medical center. I told them I would come in person that day and get this sorted out. I just wanted his blanket back so we could put him to rest. I left work early to stop by, an older woman with purple hair was at the front along with another woman. Why was I not surprise that even with my full name, phone number and my cats name- she spoke to me as if this was day 1 on this request. They both said said they would go in the back and look for his yellow blanket. They came back with the opposite of yellow blankets. I told them these are not his and they must of thrown it away then. The older lady said, "oh, we don't throw blankets away". Well then, I am thinking why couldn't you find it? The older lady said, "well it could be in the laundry". I thought- so of all places you didn't look for a blanket in the laundry? The frustration at its peak- with all this dragging out, my voice shaking, and tears starting to form, I told them I was done... done with trying to retrieve his belonging. They had successfully worn me out with their befuddlement. They lacked the ability to understand why I might really want his blanket back. I left obviously upset. I was expecting a call from the office manager that day or the next day to address this issue. I imagine the clinic has had other customers pets die and that the office manager might understand that getting back pets toys or belonging to their family is very important. I had to request euthanasia for my cat yesterday. The clinic squeezed us into the schedule on short notice, and absolutely everyone from the front desk to the techs to the vet was incredibly gentle and caring. I work till 5pm so it's hard to find a vet that opens that late. I went on a Thursday and this clinic opens till 8pm! I got a 7:30pm appointment and saw Dr. Meredith. The whole staff was so sweet and awesome. They got Kiki's medical record for me and gave her a full check up. Price is great, $65 for first timer. $75 for future check ups. In the waiting room there's towels and sprays to use on her crate to relax her. Kiki's coming back here for sure! read more

I have been coming to this Vet for over 10 years. I came today to my appointment 8 minutes late. I scheduled my week around it. They are saying I cannot come in for my appointment and that I need to reschedule. We all know how vets and doctors have us waiting on them literally EVERY time we come in for our appointment, but me being 8 minutes late, no can do huh? I can't believe they are treating a 10 year client this way, I scheduled my week around it and let them know that. They simply said they cannot accommodate, I told them they were losing my business and their response was "ok, bye". My American Bulldog started limping again, but on a different leg... Mama was sad to see him in pain so off to the vet we went! The only vet available on a last minute appointment was Dr.Baker, the newest addition to the clinic. FIRST thing she says after the initial "hello"..... "Let me start off by saying, your dog is EXTREMELY overweight." Wow, hello to you too.... NICE TO MEET YOU!! I know overweight dogs, mine is NOT extremely overweight. He could stand to lose weight only to help take the pressure off his sore knees. Then in a VERY condecending way, she asked me how much I fed him, and proceeded to add that I shouldn't follow the feeding guidelines on the bag of dog food. To that I immediately told her I DID NOT follow them because they are excessive. I said, for a big dog I don't feel like I feed him enough, 1-1/2 cups morning and night. She then got on the floor to check out his knee... Up next she asks "Is he on any flea treatment, because I think he has fleas". She got up to get a flea comb and went over his back and legs. NOPE no fleas. She was so judgemental, and I felt like she was trying to get me on more and more things... Does she get a cut of the money she brings in?! Thats how it felt. Dr.Baker's jabs pissed me off and sent me over the edge. Dr.Vincenzi is a tad worse in my opinion... he made me cry and then said "you are visably upset". Wow, thank you for being soooooo sympathetic! I feel like they are both definitely in the wrong profession. I feel like they do not care about animals. If you are a vet, you need to sympathize, be tactful and caring because pets are family too! The are not "JUST" pets. My dog is my child!! read more

From front desk administrators, vet technicians, veterinarians, and any other wonderful member I may not be aware of, the entire team goes above and beyond to make sure your pet receives the best medical attention. I took my rabbit to see Dr. Nathanson here, and she was kind, attentive, and knowledgeable. The prices were also much more reasonable than I anticipated, even for the medications. It is SO hard to find a vet who actually knows what they are doing with rabbits, and I am really thankful to have found this office. My rabbit had previously seen another vet who was an evil, money grubbing dick head who put him on medication that he did not need that also made him worse, but Dr. Nathanson took plenty of time to thoroughly examine him and provided medication not only for the initial injury, but for the stomach issues caused by the previous "vet" as well.
