I would not recommend this vet. They were disorganized and gave me the wrong test results for my dog, which caused unnecessary confusion. The front desk responded to my emails in a way that made things even more unclear, and the vet never followed up directly or recommended a follow-up appointment for my dog's UTI. Because of that, the issue dragged on for two months, even after two rounds of antibiotics. Follow-up communication after test results was unhelpful. I've since switched vets and the care has been so much better -- clear, proactive, and thorough. I wish I had made the switch sooner. read more

Really impressed with the staff here! I had a lost dog come up to me so I was trying to track down the owners. Went here to see if they recognize the dog and they were able to track the chip, gave me a leash and some treats. Unfortunately the chip was not registered but later that day we were able to the dog safety back to its owners a block away from where I first met the puppy. Thanks Seatown for your help. read more

Do not recommend to anyone, a waste of time and highly mismanaged makes this place the worst vet I've ever had. PROS: Good location, easy to find and navigate, follows Covid protocols and front staff is good. Good for young dogs only. CONS: - Terribly managed, poor vet experiences. Most of them don't know what they are doing. - took my pets and no one could figure out what was ailing a 3 year old young cat. She displayed ongoing symptoms and suffered for over 1.5 years at this vet. This place tried to push on random meds and diagnosis that didn't make sense because they lacked any knowledge. - Seatown refused to see my cat multiple times, I called with legitimate concerns and I was told they are booked for 2 weeks and that I should just take her to an Emergency clinic. This happened several times. - Expect to never see the same vet twice. The vets I dealt with were horrible - rushed, panicking and not well setup by management at all, barely spent any time - wasted thousands of our dollars doing inappropriate & unnecessary lab work that were always spectacularly expensive because they outsource this. So you're really paying double if not triple the cost. - gave my cat a leukemia shot without consent, Im ready to sue them for this act - Seatown hires young inexperienced still in school nurses to do routine checks and keep their cost down. These inexperienced children play with your cat for 4 mins in the back and return without actually doing anything. I asked many questions which turned out later to be symptoms but with Seatown I was blown off like they didn't matter. After 2 years of this dance, the cost was that we had to take my cat at her last leg to the emergency clinic where we spent 10 grand bringing her back to health. All because Seatown failed to do their jobs and gave us false information that led to this issue for years. - Seatown is so obscene they still send marketing sales emails and not once have they sent anything worthwhile or caring such as notifications emails for upcoming care like all well established vets. Seatown doesn't care about your pets, they just want your money and are really only good at marketing when they don't even have a good service. Their obvious lack of care, disgusting management and lack of professionals with limited knowledge almost cost me my 3 yr old cat (not even a senior!). I would stay far away from the vet. I brought my dog in to look at a hard bump on his snout that I was concerned about. I specified in the notes that he had recently had an annual Wellness check and I simply wanted a vet to look at his nose and make sure it wasn't something like cancer. The clinic did not disclose the cost of the appt until the END of the session. And then they charged me 96 dollars to have the vet glance at my dogs nose and tell us to 'keep an eye on it'-- and then called it a 'wellness visit'. When my girlfriend tried to question the fee and dispute services rendered, they were completely impossible to communicate with. You also can never get anyone on the phone. Fraudulent. We've been taking our cats to SeaTown for several years, and are very happy with the service we've received. At first it was a no-brainer, as we lived in the apartments above their clinic, but we moved further north four years ago, and still bring our cats all the way down to SeaTown because of how great they are. They're very responsive to questions, and have managed to fit our cats in on short notice more than once. We've mostly seen Dr. Heskel and Dr. Emery, and they're both great, and have been supportive through tough times and decisions we've had to make with our little idiots. In terms of cost they may be a little higher than other clinics, but I think it's worth it for the quality of care we've always received there. read more

We brought our cats to Seatown for a few years because it was convenient. I have no complaints about the veterinary doctors or assistants. The front desk is a hot mess with way too much turn over and terrible communication. I finally asked for our records and walked after a scheduling problem that began with unclear communication from the front desk resulted in me having to re-start a series of vaccinations (and of course, PAY for the first shot and visit over again). In short, they told me to schedule "x" weeks out. I tried to do it, and the front desk personnel said, "we can't schedule that far out, you should CALL BACK in "x" weeks so we can schedule you. Huh? But okay, I called back at the appointed time. They scheduled us without comment, and when we showed up, they said, oh, this is too far out, and now you have to start over with the first shot. But this was just one of many in a series of these kinds of things. Nice and pleasant people, just not up to the task. read more

I went here until my kitten was misdiagnosed with an eye condition that ended up making his eye much worse and putting him in extreme pain. The vet I was given was clearly new and instead of listening to what I thought my cat had, she instead diagnosed him with something he showed no symptoms for. This led to him developing an eye ulcer and needing to be taken to a specialist in Tacoma for proper care. Again, he was in no pain before I took him here. The specialist in Tacoma I took him to confirmed he had the condition I suspected he had. This was the condition I told the Seatown vet he had (entropion), but was ignored and misdiagnosed instead. It was clear from my visits with the Seatown vet that she was guessing what was going on with my cat but had no idea. I only give an extra star for the office and online services. If however you care at all about your pet receiving the best care, I cannot in good conscious recommend this place. The care they gave when my kitten was in need only led to more pain, more office visit bills that led to worsening his condition, and extreme stress on my part. read more

Dr. Emery and her staff especially Shayla and Ashley always take great care of our dog Boba! He frequently sees them several times a year for teeth cleaning where he's under general anesthesia. We receive personal, kind, and professional service each time. They call to check in on him a few days afterwards as well. Their COVID protocol is to stay in your car and they pick up your pet from you and bring your pet back to your car, so you never have to get up/out, which is nice. Like a drive-thru vet. We have entrusted Seatown with the care of our dog for 2 years now and so far we have no complaints! read more

I did everything I could to try to give this business a chance! First, I brought my new puppy to them for vaccinations and a check up. The day after the first visit my puppy, who has interacted with no other person or animal is yelping hysterically when having a bowel movement. As i work in medicine I suspect that there was some trauma checking his temp (as remember: you can't go in with your dog because of COVID). I call to just question if this was possible, and am convinced that i should go for labs and stool samples (hundreds more dollars). All return negative... even more suspicious for trauma. My pup improves after three days; convincing me of trauma. Today (the day before i have a scheduled neuter appointment) I get a reminder text message that they have him scheduled for a teeth cleaning (my now 6 month old puppy...a cleaning)! I call and they advise me that they have to cancel the neuter as they have someone out on an emergency. Come on...hundreds of dollars for test that weren't necessary and now days of vacation for a neuter that isn't going to happen...costing even more money! This place has no concern for their customers and much less your pet. So glad to know I learned this before trusting them to put my dog under anesthesia. DO NOT GO HERE! read more

During the last few painful months for our first "fur baby" Kazuhiro, Doctor Emery was there giving him the best medical care and even going so far to as to make a house call. Now what doctor does that nowadays? I'm not saying she'll do that for everyone, but it showed us her passion and dedication to taking care of her patients. The clinic has a nice, sterile, but welcoming vibe and the staff are great to work with. Keep up the great customer service!! Kazuhiro has since passed on and we now have a new puppy. I am not one to write reviews, but here goes. I called this past Saturday for a last minute, appointment as my dog's tooth had fallen out and his mouth had now has an infection. I understand that any appointment-based business Saturday will be the busiest day I told the lady that answered the phone what my situation was, she put me on hold and check with the vet to see if I could get "an appointment to open up" When she came back to the phone line, she asked me to send a picture, I was unable to do so, which I explained would not work The lady on the phone then stated that I was "not a very good client because my dog is 4 years old and I brought him to you only once and I was two weeks overdue for his annual exam" My reply- I got this dog in July of 2021- "I got this a year ago, and he hasn't been sick until now how many times do you want me to bring him in?" I emailed the practice on Sunday to let the Owner know what had happened never received a response. So disappointed. read more

I don't write reviews but I am beyond disappointed and pissed. Their communication system is unreliable for any type of emergency, and or to help prevent one. You should be able SPEAK to someone and not rely on a messenger system that takes hours (they don't take calls, the only option is to message or leave a vm). At the very least expect to get a call back in a timely manner. I brought my dog in yesterday due to a blood clot/swelling from his neuter (not an unusual complication.) Doctors were great as always, examined him gave me meds and care instructions. She said to call back right away if anything takes a turn as surgery would most likely be required. I noticed things that caused concern late last night so I messaged them to call as soon as they open. Didn't hear anything, so sent another message and voicemail when they opened. The front desk messaged back saying they'll let the doctor know right away. 2 hours go by and my dogs situation suddenly went from slightly concerned to an emergency as he started bleeding everywhere. I messaged again in a panic saying call me asap can I come in. Nothing. I rushed him to another clinic and they saw him right away to do the needed procedure. I finally got a call around 11:30.. more than 3 hours later from the doctor. She was extremely apologetic but really no excuse. I could of gotten some direction or guidance in the morning before things took an even worse turn for my dog. I asked for a follow up as she "looks into this". I would like to share something. I have been bringing my two cats and two dogs to Seatown since 2017. I have been pleased with the care given to my animals for years until now. I brought Kit, my 15 year old cat, in for care numerous times in the past year. She was treated for ear polyps. During a dental procedure where she was suddaded there was no conversation about removing the polyp. I was under the impression the polyp was impossible to remove. The past 2 months have been pure hell trying to manage the care of her ear. I have reached out numerous times hoping for guidance. All I was told was to keep a cone on her and maybe "add a second cone". What quality of life is that? In a plastic cone she can't eat, drink or go to the litter box. I expressed this to every tech and no one seemed concerned. On my own, I researched plush cone options and medicines. Yesterday I took Kit to Cascade Pet Hospital and after an exam, I was told by the vet removing the polyp is a simple fix and would immensely increase Kit's quality of life. She is scheduled to go back on Thursday for the procedure. I write to share this in hopes that the whole team at Seatown will take this feedback into consideration as you treat future patients. I spent $1,000 for Kit's dental procedure and $300+ for follow up care to treat an ear infection (being caused BY the polyp). The past 3 months of hardship could have been completely avoided if the polyp were simply removed during the dental procedure. I will no longer bring my animals to Seatown and if ever asked by other pet owners, I look forward to sharing my experiences. My ask to everyone on the Seatown team is please start thinking outside the box, put the animals first and LISTEN to owners when we say "this isn't working". If for one moment during Kit's care, I felt like I was actually being heard, this whole conversation would be very different. read more

I hardly write reviews on this app and it does take a lot to get me to. This vet I will say is very clean, the techs in the back (to my knowledge) are very kind. My interactions with reception have been AWFUL every time. My two cats came in to get checked out when I moved here and they were clearly very scared. They brought in a bigger dog that was out of control to be near my cats. When I told reception I would feel more comfortable waiting outside with my cats I was ignored. I stood outside anyways and waited to pay. The tech from the back eventually met us outside. Adele, the receptionist now, has failed to own up to any scheduling or message relay mistakes. She has lack of ownership that creates a horrible customer experience. I called to check on my cat after his neuter and she blamed me for not getting THEIR voicemail on MY phone? She told me that I "probably" didn't write down the correct number. I have been a client here for a few months and my number is on file/I got her phone call earlier this morning when she told me I was late to an appointment that I had triple checked I was on time to. All in all: Cleanliness: 5/5 Techs: 5/5 Reception: 0/5 I will be taking my business elsewhere solely due to the poor reception up front. read more

I have been to Seatown vet for several scheduled appointments. They have a nice facility with staff that tries their best (some turnover at front desk). Communication and billing system is hit or miss. They do care for your pet but I think they are overpriced. No the right place for emergency care or if you need an appointment within a couple of days. Ultimately most pet owners want efficient pet care that works for their budget and availability. This place seems to lack a bit of mindfulness. It is a decent option in the area but I will prefer to drive somewhere else for future visits. I was a client for several years at Seatown with no issues. I have literally referred hundreds of people there. The last couple of years they are a mess. They take NO responsibility, always blaming someone or something for their errors. Our dog wasn't eating much so we took her in. The "relief vet" was unable to draw blood... they just didn't! I'm a former ER vet tech. I could've drawn blood. Had that lab work been done, we would've had a two weeks heads up to her illness. She died two weeks later. They also referred us to Timberline vet who allowed our dog to deteriorate overnight to the point that she was bleeding internally. Our repeated attempts to get Seatown management to listen is met with "we appreciate your feedback", yet nothing changes. We told them we were leaving their practice and going to Ballard AH. We contacted them FIVE TIMES in addition to the day we spoke in person to their manger, who told us directly that she would make sure records would be sent. Ballard AH contacted them at least three times for records, once while we were standing there. Seatown blamed Ballard AH for giving them the wrong email. Not true, it's all done via the software. Again, blaming someone else. They did not have our correct phone numbers, despite the fact that we had been in office several times, they don't communicate with each other and use a lot of relief vets. They won't even answer the phone. You have to contact them via their website "due to being short staffed". Ballard AH has three receptionists! I left a review on google and they responded saying they had left me a voicemail. Again, to the wrong phone number despite the manger texting me to my correct number! I do not recommend anyone taking their pets to Seatown until they get their act together. read more

My husband and I have been taking our Frenchie, Tilly, here for over a year and we've been so happy with the care she's received. Despite being very busy, they were able to work her in for an urgent visit when an infection in a salivary gland became bad quite quickly. Both Dr. Kimmel and Dr. Emery have been great to work with. Dr. Kimmel especially showed kindness and patience when we asked her many questions about a recommended surgery for Tilly's soft palate. It was reassuring working with someone who helped ease our worries about the procedure and we appreciated her taking the time to discuss everything with us. Today I took my Lilly cat down to Seatown veterinarian clinic and I couldn't have been happier by the intake crew and Dr. Emery. My cat had an accident on the way down in her carrier and I was nervous that they wouldn't accept her. They said not to worry about it and took her in and cleaned the carrier & Lilly for me. I got all my questions answered and my meds for my cat all within 20 minutes. I will definitely keep going to Seatown Veterinarian clinic! Best service ever read more

This is a really hard review to write especially since I don't normally even write on yelp. I've also waited post-incident and considered carefully the impact my words may have on a business. But I feel potential patients should know what happened to us and have a truthful account of events that occurred at this vet clinic. I've had two doggies at Seatown with great results. They put my older dog down with lots of compassion and treated our next dog without incident. This is why I was so shocked at what happened to my puppy. It turns out that most vets won't spay a dog in heat because of longer recovery time and heightened risk of infection. All other vets do and should examine the dog first to determine if a dog is in heat and then advise against spaying during their heat. (After our incident I called ten other area vets to better understand standard practice and they all recommended waiting and the majority wouldn't perform a spay while a dog is in heat at all). Other vets inform you of all risks BEFORE the actual surgery. Seatown informed me my dog was in heat AFTER performing the spay and she then developed a horrible infection that required thousands of dollars in emergency vet care. After what happened to us they changed their whole clinic policy, requiring owners to sign off on acknowledgement of the risk. Obviously they knew what happened to us was a major blunder otherwise they would not have changed clinic policy. (Or offered us a paltry $300 afterward. Less then ten percent of our post op expenses). But they refused to even split my dogs medical care or acknowledge what a huge mistake they made. It was a major breach of trust as I'm not a medical expert and expect to be informed by a professional so I can make informed decisions. Please consider this information carefully before patronizing this business. Now is the worst time to be paying for costly mistakes. read more

I was in couple of weeks ago to buy some supplies and shocked to find that there seemed to be little sanitizing precaution. When I made my purchase nothing was wiped down and no one is wearing masks despite dealing with many people in and out all day. Mind you, we're in the midst of this coronavirus outbreak... They were patient with understanding and addressing Maisy's complicated health history, and when her health began declining further they always made time to walk us through treatment options. The women that run this place are great. We have been in three times so far and are always greeted warmly by the same receptionist and taken care of by the same vet tech. When my dog was first in due to an anal glad abscess, while she was sedated, they -- without charging -- fixed my sloppy clipping. We only met the owner once, and the other two times saw the relief vet. I can't comment too much on them other than to say they both seemed knowledgeable. Only one complaint: my dog has congestive heart failure and we were only sold a week's worth of diuretics (perhaps as to not inflate the estimate that had been written up), or perhaps because the relief doctor thought we would only need a week due to what he referred to as "decompensation", or because we would make the decision to put her down. It is eight days later and she's responding well to the water pills and when I went back there yesterday to buy more pills, buying a month's supply was cheaper than two weeks' worth. So, it would have been nice to be asked if we wanted to buy more than a week supply originally as to save me a trip. Also, they have lots of same day appointments! read more

We've had Dr. Kari Emery as our veterinarian for all 3 of our family dogs for over 10 years. We first started seeing her in Lynnwood near our house at the clinic she worked at there, and when she moved to her own practice at Seatown we drive all the way down there just to see her and her team. They are amazing and have taken excellent care of all of our dogs, including our oldest who passed away a few years back. She made a point to make a paw print mold of his paw as a keepsake when he passed and it's hanging on our wall at home with his collar and pictures. I wouldn't go to any other vet. I've taken my pup in to Seatown for a couple visits now and each time has been so smooth and pleasant. The first time we came in for a physical check-up, a nail trim, and 2 vaccines (lepto shot and canine influenza). They asked us for permission to give our pup cookies which I appreciated because we previously took our pup to Banfield, who didn't really keep us in the loop besides saying our pup is overall healthy. Seatown also told us that our pup was very anxious about getting restrained for the vaccine and nail trim, which is something Banfield didn't tell us about. So now we know that we have to work on desensitizing our pup because we had no idea she was so anxious. It's our first time having a dog and also our first time going to the vet. Because of covid, we can't enter the facility with our pup, so I really appreciated the heads up about what they were doing back there and how our dog was behaving. The medical summaries that Seatown provides is also super comprehensive and it makes me feel at ease seeing all the things they check on at these appts. 100% recommend Seatown! read more

Seatown just opened up in our neighborhood and we couldn't ask for a more personable and caring veterinary facility to take care of our furry companions. Dr. Emery and her courteous staff are attentive and top notch. It was the first place where my pupster wasn't afraid of entering. We went in for a general wellness check and plan to go back for teeth cleaning. This is a full service clinic. It has a relaxing atmosphere and is very neat and clean. While many places will attempt to get you to take on a variety of procedures Seatown isn't interested in doing unnecessary things. Their location and hours are very convenient. I am so happy to have found Seatown, Kari and staff. ( Taylor, Keo, Shayla, Adele) Kari was able to handle my very anxious, previously abused and neglected rescue with ease and care. She was so wonderful with her. Callie has since died, but I have a new baby I got a year and a half ago. She has had some serious issues, and again, I was able to depend on Kari and staff. Crosby has had more than her fair share of health troubles, but I feel really lucky to have found Dr. Emery and Seatown. This vet (unlike my previous vet) offers options and reasonable care-- didn't just decide to throw everything at us because they could. Dr. Emery is careful and thorough and so gentle with my nervous girl. When she's needed surgery, Dr. Emery was very honest with me about the best course of action. Further, she's let me be a part of Crosby's care (doesn't just take her into the back and make me wait and worry-- I've been allowed to comfort her when she's having things done, and that means a lot!). I went to get my cat his shots and get a check up. We were late by about 17 minutes. They informed me after the visit they would like to charge me $40 extra because we were over 15 minutes late to the appointment (no mention of that upon contacting me on my way there more when scheduling the appointment). The vets were nice, did their routine assessments, shots and we were on our way. There's no coffee/tea/water while you wait opposed to what I've seen at other vet clinics in the waiting room. I believe it was $80 just to schedule the appointment then they deduct that from the price of the whole visit. Over all it was an average experience nothing special. If anything the front desk should be more upfront about hidden charges and handle those rather than the vet asking for $40 all after the fact with no mention prior.
