So many issues - from safety of their vehicles to cleanliness to poor customer service. TLDR; Avoid this company completely. To start, we had to swap to a different car THREE times before we got one in reasonably working order. The first car side mirrors wouldn't adjust (the button was clearly broken) and the second had the worst sounding brakes any of us have ever heard (the entire car rattled when you would come to a stop - major safety issue). The inside of all of them were filthy - zero cleaning done, but worse than that it seems zero mechanical maintenance. Additionally, beware they do not honor their advertised rental agreement policies provided at booking. Aside from that being an unlawful false misrepresentation, it's just bad customer service. The agreement clearly says there is no charge for a spouse as an additional driver, but when we asked to add a spouse as an additional driver both of the front desk employees recited what appeared to be a frequently used and rehearsed line "that's not our policy, that's a policy on a website we're not affiliated with." So I pulled up the rental agreement (screenshot attached) that is very obviously a policy written by Nu/Fox/Allsave provided to Expedia (where I booked through) and they didn't move an inch and were, frankly, pretty rude about it for no real reason (this was before we had all the mechanical issues/swapping cars). Finally, the shuttle that transports you from the airport to their office looks like it hasn't been cleaned in at least a decade and smelled of moldy cheese. Overall, don't fall for their slightly lower prices - as you definitely get what you pay for with Nu/Fox/Allsave. read more

EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. The car was disgusting and infested with bugs!! My son is terrified of bugs and they were crawling all over him in the back seat. The bugs were so bad in fact, that when we returned to our hotel, our clothes had bugs in them! It was disgusting! The car was dirty and all the seat were stained. We rented our vehicle from Allsave we were picked up from the Airport quickly. We needed a bigger car than originally planned as 2 additional friends came with us. After a couple of days on our vacation we noticed that the car battery was low and not working properly. I returned the to the rental agency and they immediately swapped out the car and upgraded it as well I was pleasantly surprised. Our car had numerous dents and scrapes. The front ceiling devices (glasses holder and inside dome lights) fell down and were hanging from the ceiling when we opened the car the next day. They are trying to charge us $500 for damage. The plastic pieces had glue where they had previously been glued together. We did not touch that device. read more

Absolutely horrible experience at the airport - from the start, they say Van comes every 10-15 minutes. We waited over 30 minutes and had to call them twice. The overweight rude driver was of zero help, never left his seat helping ladies with bags, had a bad attitude, and drove 70 mph in a 30 mph zone. Bags were flying. Once at the airport office, two VERY slow agents were terrible. They just kept talking about Maui with the customers, had a real bad attitude, and were very rude. It took me one hour to get to the desk with six people ahead of me. The lady kept pushing insurance, insisting I would pay $400 if the car broke down or had a scratch. What a moron. I told her my auto insurance covered accidents and she said it "doesn't matter". Huh? Then, the car they gave me was filthy and still wet from the car wash. I swear they washed it with muddy water. I couldn't even see out of 3 windows and had to clean them myself in order to drive. Horrible company, stay away from these Bozos. The shuttle picked us up at the airport over the radio they said to the driver we ran out of cars . The driver still took us there the whole van unloaded . We went in the lady says I am so sorry but we have no cars. So we rented this months in advance and you have no cars . Yep . Can I speak to a manger they are off on weekends . So what do you want us to do . How am I supposed to get from one side of the island to the other with out a car . She says we can take you back to the airport. What is that suppose to do . Don't even consider renting a car from this place, no matter how much you'll save. It was the worst experience I've ever had renting a car. Dirty shuttle , long waits from the airport to the office. They move so in the office slow, because every person ahead of me had an issue with the rental. After a long flight, the last thing I wanted was for my family to sit outside on the curb in the humidity and heat, while waiting for me and everyone else try to resolve their issues. This appeared to be the norm and it didn't phase the employees. They also didn't have the car that we Pre Paid for and wanted us to take a smaller car. I had the same experience yesterday as others have had recently. They cancelled the reservation by sending a text message that there was a system glitch. Would answer the phone or respond as expected. Greed and gouging is all it's about. Scumbags is the appropriate word and I would use harsher words for businesses as this that do this at the last moment to customers. Holidayers are looking forward to a great relaxing vacation but instead have to deal with such an unpleasant experience before they even get to Maui or even worse find out they don't have a reservation once they are there. IF YOU ARE FEMALE AND RENTING ON YOUR OWN....DO NOT RENT FROM ALLSAVE CAR RENTAL MAUI WHO IS AFFILIATED WITH FOX-RENT-A-CAR.  This location is OFF-SITE so you have to coordinate with the office / representatives prior to landing. Their service is UNRELIABLE and mostly DISRESPECTFUL if you are a woman. For my experience, I texted prior to landing. Then I received a text back saying that there's a shuttle headed to the airport. I had no bags to collect from baggage claim and I rushed to the pick up location in 5 minutes but saw no shuttle. I called only to be told it was on its way. I waited and there was still no shuttle, so I called again. I spoke to the manager Kami? who said "she cannot control traffic". I told her I never expected her to do so and that response was unprofessional/unnecessary. I said I was just wondering why another employee told me the shuttle was on its way when I then found out in my second phone call that it hadn't left the location yet. Kami said they had just loaded a lot of people, when in reality, no one got off the shuttle that finally arrived at the airport. When the shuttle finally arrived, the driver never even said "hello/aloha". Also another passenger from my flight was waiting for Allsave Car Rental Maui pickup. She was also annoyed that they say every 15-20 minutes for airport pick-up, when we waited for over 35 minutes. The situation turned worse when I arrived at the rental car off-site location (15 min drive from airport). I walked inside and went to a representative named Brienne. On each side of her were two other male representatives. The one man to her right was assisting with people and the other to her left wasn't doing anything (possibly the manager?). Then I asked about the shuttle timing and explained I had waited and it took 45 minutes for me to get here. I asked if there was any compensation that could possibly be given with the delay. I mentioned that I am losing time with the less than 24 hours that I had to see my family and I wanted to know what to expect for the car return / timeframe because I would be letting friends/family on island know of my experience. My question sent the local (old male representative, possibly manager) off with his anger issues and he pulled up my text message history from his computer and RAISED his voice saying "YOU TEXTED AT 11:02 and it's not 45 mins!!" I apologized and said sorry for rounding up but it's been 40 mins total to get in the door. I said 10 minutes before landing you knew I'd be here then too, along with the reservation that said my flight arrival time. He continued to get short and aggressive in his tone, then threatened for me to go rent somewhere else. Apparently this is how they do business here. I was so appalled and stated I was just explaining my situation. He said "you keep going over it again"! I said no I repeated twice. He was screaming at this point. The other man on the other side of Brienne decided to chime in and say agree with him, which felt like they were using bullying tactics at this point. I felt so unsafe and just wanted to get my car and get out of there because I was already late seeing my family. When Brienne was almost done I said "sorry I wasn't trying to circle around but I appreciate how professional you were in having a conversation that didn't involve voices raised". Then the skinny representative guy with glasses on her right started screaming saying "WHAT! YOU WANT TO GO BACK TO THE AIRPORT. YEA, you go over it again and you will!" I said I am just trying to have a conversation with Brianne but I guess I can't do that peacefully. This awful experience ended with Brienne dropping off my rental in the front of the office and after she inspected the rental car, she apologized to me outside for how they treated me. She said it was embarrassing. I was also embarrassed for her to work at such a ghetto business. Then the other customer, who was also a female and a passenger from my flight, came outside to pick up her rental car. She said how she was appalled they talked to me that way inside the rental center. She said what I asked was reasonable and she couldn't believe how they attacked me. To have TWO DIFFERENT WOMEN say something outside of that toxic rental company office was confirmation that this place is UNSAFE, UNPROFESSIONAL, and LOW CLASS to rent from. Do NOT come here. ESPECIALLY if you're a WOMAN. From this experience I will NEVER rent from ALLSAVE CAR RENTAL MAUI / FOX-RENT-A-CAR EVER AGAIN.  After MULTIPLE attempts to follow up with Pi'i, she failed to return my call or speak to her direct supervisor. If I could give them a negative star I would. Upon checking-in to renting a car i had reserved. I was refused a rental car at the counter because I live on island and apparently locals have been stealing cars. Now mind you I have been a rental agent on island for hertz and dollar so Iam definitely familiar with the process. The real thing that bothered me most was the whole ideal of theft. If they're hand picking who to rent to and who to not rent to there business is in jeopardy. The only reason of booking through this company was to compare the experience. Ultimately self check-in is probably the only thing that would save this particular agency. With there location far from the airport.. meaning you wouldn't want to walk to this location from the airport, it's literally far. I'm glad I didn't pay up front because refunds take for ever to return to your banking account. Plus there's a $500 deposit on top of the rental price. This company should consider adding a self check in station it would cut the cost to operate significantly. Lucky I had made a reservation with hertz so this didn't effect me other than the pointless conversation I had with the sales rep. Avoid the hassle and stay close to the airport. I rented a sedan for a week, and vehicle was adequate. I barely used 1/4 tank of fuel and had prepaid 10 gallons. Returned car several hours before scheduled time. I had sat in driver's seat with wet bathing suit the prior day. It was not discolored.. The return inspection did not mention anything about the wet seat. However, I later received an invoice for not only the prepaid fuel but an additional charge of $60 for the damp seat. I will have to challenge through Priceline and credit card company. read more

They offered to have it detailed, but we did not want to waste our time in Maui waiting for a car to be detailed, so we took it as is. They took lots of "before" photos of the outside, none of the inside. The rep said - don't worry about the inside. After we dropped it off and headed out we got an additional charge to our credit card for $80.00. We called and were told it was on us to prove what it looked like "before" of course they had "after" photos of the interior. I did take photos, but since they were not "date stamped" they would not accept them. Called multiple times trying to resolve this and no call back - just an additional fee. Despite the response below - my phone calls to this company have gone unanswered. Moreover, I was told by the representative - because the car was already dirty - "not to worry about the inside." DO NOT RENT THESE CARS First car was a real beater. So embarrassing to drive but it was right before they closed and they said they had no other cars. On way the to condo, I texted them (they were happy to text before the rental) and also left voice mails saying that this car was unacceptable and we would like to switch it out the next day when they had more cars. No text back. No call back. So we ended up bringing the car back. Next car was in just as bad shape (but slightly better on the outside, worse on the inside) and we were told they had no other cars. Got about a mile away and the car stuttered and the engine light came on. Turned around and came back. They argued and said that there is nothing wrong with the car. And they again said they had no other cars. So we said we would cancel and go over to Enterprise. They mysteriously had yet another car brought up. So far, this car is just "OK". They offered no compensation for the trouble. What a terrible experience. read more

So I booked a car through Expedia and it said Fox Rentals. Once we landed, we had to wait for the shuttle to pick us up since their rental office was not in the airport (I did not know that). The shuttle took about 30min to come. I found out that they only have 1 shuttle - and its just a tiny van which is why every other company's shuttles came 3 times before this one came. Anyway. once the shuttle came it took us off site to this random outdoor plaza where the office was. Once in, it was pretty sketch in my opinion. Small sign, dark tainted windows and 2 random desks. I was pretty skeptical already since I found out that their real name was Allsave Car Rental and their reviews were terrible. Getting the car was pretty quick - they hold a $150 pending charge to your account until the end. The car was got was pretty shitty. It was dirty and clearly had an accident since there was a huge dent. The inside was full of dirt and it came with 1/4 of gas and not full as they stated. Tires seem wore down. Not sure what this place does business - giving out dirty cars inside and out, no gas and bad smell. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I am just happy the car didn't stall and didn't ruin our trip. read more

We accidentally got charged a few things but the company was quick to resolve that and was responsive when we texted. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM!!! To start, we had to wait over an hour to even get our car after arriving from the airport to their rental location. The customer service was pretty awful and very slow. When we finally received our minivan, I spotted a couple of German cockroaches. By the time we had driven 5 more minutes, I spotted a few more (including babies climbing up my littlest one's car seat). It was absolutely disgusting. We drove back and asked for another van. However, due to the extreme delay to even get our first car, I wanted to know if they could guarantee the next van would not be infested with cockroaches. The guy couldn't even look me in the eyes. He looked up and said something along the lines of, "Cockroaches are a real problem here." I asked again if the next van would not be infested. Again, no clear answer. We ended up taking the original van. As our five day trip went on, we spotted over hundred cockroaches, including a ton in both of our littlest ones' car seats. Upon returning home, we had to bag all of our luggage, including the car seats, so as to not bring them home with us. If you don't know German cockroaches, they will hitch a ride and reproduce fast and furiously. When we arrived back home, we found countless living cockroaches still in the car seats!! This is a nightmare. Save yourself the time, money (we have to buy new seats) and disgust and DO NOT RENT from these people. read more

Worst Car rental experience EVER!! Rented thru All Save / NU. Was sent texts asking for flight info - which I gave, showing that I would not be landing until 8 pm. When I went to their kiosk - which BTW is in a very back alley / dark / unlit / unsafe area - they had closed and gone home. Numerous calls to the numbers provided were received with responses of "This number is no longer valid", or I'm sorry, this number cannot be reached at this time." Even the 1-800 Emergency Roadside Service number that NU provided, had a "number is no longer valid" response. I was stuck without a car - 24 hours later, I have still not heard from anyone. No shuttle arrived even though there were 12 people waiting for it and no answer at either the airport location or Kihei location. We don't usually complain about things but NEVER use fox/allsave. I booked this rental 5 months ago now we won't have a car for the trip. I guess Uber gets my money. It seems like price gouging. They did not answer their phone or return my messages from 8 am until 3 pm. In fact, they never responded. Someone finally picked up the phone around 3 pm. I lost a whole day of planned excursions on a 4 day trip. When I returned the rental car (after if was fixed), they would not offer me a discount of any kind (I could not use the car for almost a full day and lost money because of excursions that my family booked). They said they will have to get in touch with me after they talk to the manager. It's been 3 weeks and they still have not gotten in touch with me. I've left numerous messages with Logan and he has not called me back. Remember, this place does not care about you or your trip. They may respond to this review in order to look like they care, but do not believe it. They DO NOT CARE. Wanted to cancel the insurance and came to this location and the guy at the counter was super friendly and accommodating. Really enjoyed him. When returning the car to the airport location the girl asked us to brush off the sand from the seats even though there wasn't a ton of sand. That was kind of annoying. Allsave was recommended to us by our mechanic's office staff. We were a little concerned because of some of the negative Yelp reviews. We received a discount because of the recommendation, so gave them a try. The staff was very friendly and nice. My only complaint about the car was the windows could have used a good cleaning inside and out. That being said, the car ran well and overall was clean inside. I am a Maui resident. I've never rented one of your cars. However, your location at Maui Mall is overcrowded & you allow your renters to BLOCK THE ONLY EXIT out of the parking lot. The exit is plainly marked and states to leave the area OPEN! Since you are making $ on these tourists, residents should NEVER be blocked by one of your vehicles. This is not your house, and we are not your neighbors, willing to wait patiently for you to get the lead out & move your registered vehicles. The next time it happens, perhaps a call to the PUC is in order. Then, you'll realize you SHARE that parking lot with other businesses and their vehicles. Perhaps, since you're so successful, it's time for YOU to find a bigger base yard. read more

The location representatives that I encountered were limited in their customer service and professionalism. The Kihei location rep advised us, upon our arrival, that we had made a mistake. Our actual reservation was at the Kahului location. We patiently waited for his advice... and none came. So I asked, can you cancel that reservation, and we can rent a car from here? He said no, because that would mean someone would have to drive to the Kahului location and return with a car for us. My guest was frustrated because she drove from Lahaina with me to pick up a car, and she stated that she was given this number (the Kihei office) to use to rent a car. He appeared rather stony-faced. FINALLY, he said, Well, sorry about that, but we can't help you. It took maybe three to five minutes before he even apologizes for her inconvenience. I understand we might have made the mistake but in practice, an immediate "I'm sorry but (advice follows)" goes a long way in making a customer feel welcomed. The Kahului location was a little better but clearly understaffed, and the single representative on duty was handling phones and trying to check out a car for us. I felt her sales pitch for the insurance was a little heavy handed. She was friendly, don't get me wrong, but there was an air of abrupt business at hand. Our rep handed us the key, advised us the car was outside by the door, and remained at the desk, because the poor girl was handling all the phones. We noticed the car was scratched, dented and marked in several places, and the rear bumper had clearly been hit, out of alignment with the car. We asked her to review the car with us, and she quickly ran around the car with an iPad and said it's all good, she'll send us a copy of the video via email. The experience was thorough but cold. The car worked well, it had air conditioning, and according to my guest, the plan was to return the car, to the Kahului location, and she was assured of a shuttle to the airport in time to meet her flight. She made it back to the mainland, so I suppose all went well. read more
