What a GREAT company!! No CRAZY lines!! Easy to rent from, the car is waiting for you at the airport. We rented a minivan back in March, before everything in Maui went bonkers. After reading all the horror stories about people NOT having a rental cars, reservations NOT being honored, I freaked out. I reached out to Sergio with my concerns, and was so worried that Manaloha would cancel our reservation. (Especially since I had reserved before the massive hike in pricing) Sergio, immediately wrote me back promising me that his company did NOT EVER not honor its reservations, and that mine was secure. To be honest, i was still very skeptical, but right before we left, I received an email with all the important information, and viola! our minivan was waiting for us exactly where they said it would be. CLEAN, RUNNING and ready for us to hit the beach. We will forever recommend this company to anyone we know heading to Maui. He is not from Maui and his cars are out there putting locals and tourist in danger and I have pictures of the accident and his employee id from the date of the accident. I gave them one star because the system does not let you give them zero or negative stars. You are better off, stealing a car and trying to evade the police then renting from these guys. I will start off by saying that they were nice when I reached out to them via text about the issues of my car, but that is where the positive comments stop. We rented the car at the end of 2025 and got a ripe, think ripe banana as in a bad thing, 2012 car. The car was definitely not a looker, and it was barely a driver. The engine knocked, sometimes you had to crank it twice, it had about 120,000 miles on it, and the chassis had not been lubricated probably since it was new, judging by the mounds and grounds she gave on every little bump that we encountered. They either don't know how to maintain cars or just don't care. We couldn't figure out for the first two days why we only picked up two radio stations, but then figured out there was no antenna on the car. I ended up seeing an irrigation flag at a construction site and took it and stuck it in to where the antenna should be in order to pick up radio stations. The internal battery of the radio was clearly dead as every time we turned off the car, the clock reset to noon and all of the presets go away. The cruise control did work, but the button to turn it on stuck in so when you push the button to turn on the cruise control, you then had to tap it lightly to get it to pop out without repressing the button to turn it off before you could set the cruise control. Halfway through our rental, I thought to myself if I'm having so many issues with this car and it is so poorly maintained, I should probably check the oil, so I checked the oil and found it to be a quart over full. The car had no oil pressure gauge, but I can only imagine it wasn't happy with the situation. The air conditioner did work, which was a good thing however, there were no vents in the back so backseat passengers were either too warm, or the front seat passengers were too cold. It did have Bluetooth for phone calls, but the language on the radio was set to French and it's an audio dialect to pair Bluetooth devices so you sort of had to guess what was going on. Also, they had some sort of film over the radio display that was sun dammaged so you couldn't really see what it was displayed. They were very particular that the car had to be vacuumed before it was delivered back to them, however, it clearly was not vacuumed before I picked it up. I did leave it in better condition than I found it in making sure to vacuum it out so I did not get charged. Also, they had my flight information but drop the car off at the airport the day before so I had to pay almost $30 in parking fees because they didn't want to coordinate their schedule to drop the car off the same day we arrived. The car did get us where we wanted to go, and it was $1000 cheaper than the next cheapest option however I would've gladly spent $1000 if I knew what I was going to get. I am here to tell you spend the extra money. It is absolutely 100% worth it. I am also very doubtful that the airbags have ever been serviced so I questioned the safety of the car. There are many other places to get a much much much much better car. I cannot stress enough do not rent their cars. You will not be happy. You just don't do it. read more

Pure luck of the draw. The first car that I rented 'hiccupped' and jerked all the way from the airport to where I was staying. It was about a long hour of this. I texted the business owner who was gracious but stated that he was short of drivers. I offered to drive to their lot and pick up another car. Lot was located in a pretty skeezy part of Maui. I was given another car that looked like it had been pulled out of a field somewhere. Dead grass, leaves and dirt. I didn't really care, I needed a car and it got me around. The morning I had to catch my flight home , the low tire indicator came on. The airport was about an hour away and you have to go through large areas of agriculture. Fields, trees. Etc. Nothing for miles if the tire goes flat. To say that it was a very tense drive is a real understatement. I had a plane to catch with a car with a bad tire indicator on. Made for an incredibly worrisome end to my vacation. Nice owner but iffy company. read more

My car was totaled after a bad head on collision on Haleakala and I needed wheels desperately. So glad I found this place! I got a great used car asap with ZERO wait and an easy pick-up location. No extra fees, no stress, just good local peeps helping me out. This place is a hidden gem. The cars are in very good condition, and you can't beat the price for a week anywhere. The cars are pretty old and not always in top shape - we had a flat tire one morning and the replacement tire in the trunk was the wrong size and the jack raising tool was missing. Not a good start and wasted half a day getting the car back to Kahalui. No rebate on the rental. Also, lost the key to the rental. Replacement cost was more than the total cost of the rental. Very poor planning on the rental company's part to not give cheap easy to replace keys instead of the expensive originals. read more

Hopefully the worst rental car experience of my life. They charge you extra for dropping off the car at the airport/them doing it for your arrival, terrible customer service, and semi ruined my engagement trip out to Maui. Got up to our hotel valet, and they said they wouldn't accept the car because there was too much damage all around the car....so I had to park and pull it myself. Granted I used to be a valet, but I went to college and double majored just so I wouldn't ever have to do that again....let alone on my "engagement-moon". Furthermore, they left it with less than 100 miles until empty, tire pressure light, and check engine light on. Oh and it rumbles if you ever exceed 50 mph....which is totally cool if you want to explode in a fiery inferno due to the poor maintenance. Upset, I called and never got a response until the 4th day of our trip which was coincidentally our last day. And the car tires light came on and we had to refill the air at the Costco tires. That was not convenient but it didn't ruin our vacation. But the Costco employees were very nice and helped us. Otherwise it's a perfect place to rent the cars. And the employees at this rental place here were very friendly and assisted us without any hassle. I can give only 3 stars because of the following: 1. They post the rule saying "make sure the car is clean etc etc etc...but what they gave us was not good. The car seats were outdated and dirty, dirt marks, and the car itself was not cleaned. 2. What we got was Nissan Rogue 2006 SUV. God knows about that whiny noise came from the car as we ride along the roads of Maui. I am pretty sure the car was not serviced at all. Or may be in years. 3. Cruise control was not working, stopped on the 3rd day. 4. We ended up paying the parking ticket -$15 after we picked up our car from the airport. 5. They gave fuel 1/4th only and we filled up about 1/2 as a courtesy. Good things - 1. The value was awesome. It was $369 for 10 days. 2. This place had 5 stars on google so we rented from them. When we arrived at the airport the van was not there and we had to wait 50 minutes in the designated parking lot with a 2 year old. When the van arrived the car seats were completely outdated and dirty. The third day of our trip the ac went out and we had to drive from wailea to wailuku which is 41 minutes 1 way to get the air conditioning charged. In addition, The breaks pulsed and the steering wheel shook. The check engine light was on as well. Rather than being compensated or apologized to for the inconvenience's, they charged us an extra $150 for returning the car with sand and a mask in it. Very very disappointing. read more

READ THIS BEFORE YOU RENT! SERIOUSLY!!! SAVE YOUR SANITY Let me start by saying I value my time very much, so for me to take time to write this negative review already says a lot. I would never had done so otherwise if it weren't for my deep concern for others' safety, and renting from this company will definitely jeopardize you and your loved one's life or if not, make you feel so extremely nervous and afraid the entire time you're driving that you won't have a good time. Perhaps people give positive reviews because they weren't issued the absolute most worn down, piece of SH*T van on the planet and actually lucked out. OK let me not get my emotions get the best of me and actually just state the facts of what happened. First, I ordered a "newer" van, expecting something within the last 5 years. So just so you know, their definition of a "newer" vehicle ranges from 2006 and up. 2006 was freaking 15 years ago and if that's new to them, then what can I say? We got a van from 2012. Fine. BUT here's where my concerns lay: 1. The check engine light was on. 2. Every time we turned on the car, the "CHANGE OIL" light flashed. 3. The car made such a loud, ominous sound the ENTIRE 6 days we used it. It seriously was at an RPM of 6 and still would not change gears so it just stayed loud ALL THE TIME! So loud we literally could not even hear each other in the car as we talked. 4. And for SH*T and giggles, let me just throw in that we found 3 small LIVE roaches running around the car (I wish I was joking), and the AV adapter did not work, the car smelled musty AF, and random parts just kept getting dislodged here and there. OK now that we've settled that part, I'll move on to the ACTUAL PROBLEM--condescending-ASS customer service. The most rudest person on the entire island of Maui. So I give them a call listing my concerns (listed above) and here's their response. I wish I got his name so you all can avoid talking to the rudest person on Maui. Me: "Hi. So I'm concerned that the engine light goes on in this car" Him: "It's normal for all older cars to have the engine light on" Me (Thinking to myself WTF?) "That's normal? You call that normal? Him: "Yeah. There's 150 reason why the engine light goes on. Doesn't mean there's actually something wrong with the car. It's just be a sensor problem. Me: So how would you ever know if there was an actual, real, bigger problem? Him: "Well you're welcome to pay $4000 at another company and get another car." Me: "You know what, I don't think you're really trying to hear me out and you're very condescending. Why would you even say that to a customer? I'm hanging up now." This conversation of course went on longer, but the gist of it is that he was not trying to hear my concerns, his tone obviously is self-righteous like it's expected for all car rentals to have check engine lights on, have RPMs reach the red line and still not change gears. I'm not a picky person by any means and of course I picked this company because they are cheap. That saying you get what you pay for never made more sense. They're cheap cause their cars SUCK! And they have nerve to tell me they've been in business for 20 years. That's probably because 20 years ago, your cars were new and now you're using the same SHI*TTY cars in 2021. F that if I ever rent from here again. I would have to be freaking desperate AF. I think I'll rent a moped or a U-Haul, or just take the bus and walk before every renting from here again. I have used this place before and it is the best. I ordered an older suv and everything was fine. Car is older like it says, and you are on the ocean so it's gonna look older, but if you don't care it is just fine and you can't beat the price. Unfortunately, one morning the battery was dead and we had an excursion to get to. They had a new suv at my place in 30 minutes by 8:30 before they were even open. They even upgraded us to a nicer one and were very accommodating. Also, this is the only car rental place that parks the car at the airport. No lines.....walk off the plane and right out to your car, hop in, and go. Same with drop off, just park it, and they come and pick it up. With a family of five not having to deal with the rental places was so helpful. Do you know what you don't need in Maui? A brand new overpriced rental car. For the same price as a tiny compact from one of the larger airport rental companies, I rented a 2008 Toyota Highlander. Was it shiny and new? No. But it worked perfectly, we blended in with the locals, and it was sooooo nice to have so much space in the vehicle. It drove perfectly too. We went EVERYWHERE on the island in this beauty; Hana, up Haleakala, and other remote parts of the island. The support from the rental company was also spot on. They were quick to communicate with and very accommodating. They even brought the car right to the airport when I called them from the plane after landing when I realized I had forgotten to confirm my rental two days before (don't forget to do this!) Renting here saved me $300 this trip. I rented "Claptrap" for $20/day plus tax. For the days I was on Maui this was the best rate by far and I checked every single car rental place. Claptrap is a white 2004 Ford Escort station wagon with 164k miles and those are island miles, baby. First 424 miles = 26.6 miles per gallon. Pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty good. Grindy, noisy brakes: so I anticipated and braked lighter when I could. First 2 transmission shifts when cold were impressively rough: the car jumped, a bit unnerving. Then it warmed up. We happily rented an older mini-van since we had six people. It was a great option so everyone could ride together, instead of following each other in two cars and trying to find parking everywhere. HALF the price of a mini-van from the major rental companies! Sure, one of the doors didn't open with the remote, it only opened manually, one window didn't go down all the way, and other minor stuff like that--but this would be exactly what you might expect if you borrowed a car from a friend who lived at the beach! That's what this feels like. Your buddy in Maui has an extra car. Take it! We also liked the fact that our van had AQUAHOLIC stickers across both back windows, making us look like locals, at a glance. Our van also had tinted windows which, with the help of a blanket over the backpacks, made our luggage pretty much invisible to the outside world. Early in our trip we realized the wipers squeaked and seemed dried out, so we called the shop, then stopped by, and their lot man took care of it instantly. He didn't have new ones to fit the larger van windshield, so he pulled a set from another van. That did the trick! And we were glad they fixed it because it did rain periodically on the windward side of the island. Airport parking was another GREAT option, highly recommended! You don't have to stand in lines like the other rental car companies. You walk out to the designated parking area, find your car, enter a combination on the lock-box mounted on the trunk, take out the car key, pay $15 at the gate and you're done quickly! Having an older car was comfortable, we didn't need to worry if we had some dirt on our shoes from hiking or sand from walking on the beach, just vacuumed it out before returning it. Hey - no pressure on keeping the car absolutely perfect since it has a few scratches and nicks on it anyways. Great deal on a car rental. You can choose to rent an older, or newer car depending upon your budget. We chose an older SUV. They let you know where in the lot to pick up the car when picking it up at the airport. I didn't have to worry about extra insurances, or scratches or damages. When I did email regarding some policies, they were quick to reply. We also didn't get charged until we were sitting in the car! This entire thing was sketchy at best. So we were getting in later than they were open, so they left us the car at the airport in the parking lot and we had to use a code to get into the lock box for the key. All of that was relatively fine. The sketchy part was the car itself. The brakes on the car were terrible (really needed replacing!!) and going up and down from Haleakala was a bit nerve wracking. At one point we were backing up (thankfully very slowly) and the brakes stopped working (heard just clunking) and had to throw on the emergency brake so we didn't roll into the road. Additionally, starting the car was also tricky. It was a push start, but it was hard to tell if the car actually started or not (it failed a few times). Then the car wouldn't shift into higher gears (even though it's an automatic car) and the RPM gauge stopped working and sat on 0 (while driving). So needless to say, we wouldn't rent here again. However, maybe some of their other cars are better and this one just needed to be removed from their fleet. read more

Do yourself a favor and DO NOT go with this company. Save yourself the hassle, stress, and waste of time. The negative reviews on this page were literally what we experienced. It is not worth the peace of mind on your trip. My husband and I booked for Nov 2021 and we missed out on a few of our excursions during our honeymoon because our car had a major oil leak. Since the second we got in the car, we noticed the (!) and the "Maintenance Reqd" sign on the car, and like many other reviews on this page, the company said it was nothing to worry about. It wasn't until half way through our vacation that we finally had enough. A good samaritan told us he could see oil leaking from the hood and we discovered the major oil leak. When my husband checked the dipstick of the car for the oil levels, there was literally ONE drop. They told us to drive to the repair shop which was 45 min away from Kaanapali. We basically refused to go because we felt too unsafe driving it there, and not to mention, did not want it breaking down on us on our way there. We spoke with Sergio and basically demanded a 50% refund (which honestly was generous) and he countered with 20%. Eventually, he gave us the 50% because he "does not have the energy to deal with us" anymore. The company clearly does not prioritize customer safety. The one star is because they did replace us with a new rental car and because well, we can't go any lower. I'm just glad we are safe at the end of the day, but it's not worth it. read more

I love that your car is waiting for you at the airport parking lot and that you don't have to go through the hassle of getting to the car rental lots, standing in line etc We grabbed our luggage and were able to jump in the car and be on our way within minutes. Was the car a flashy Jeep Wrangler or sporty convertible? Nope, not by a long stretch. It was however, fuel efficient, clean, and reliable. It also had amazing air conditioning that seemed to work instantly! It was so nice not having to worry about scratches or dings, as the cars are not brand new and in impeccable condition as you will find at the big name car rental agencies. I don't normally leave reviews but since this was such a different experience than normal, I feel leaving a review would help people that are considering using this company in the future. If you want a nice and brand new looking car this isn't the company to go for. Also if you kind of need your hand held through things in life this probably isn't the best company either. Go for one of the expensive usual name brand rental car companies. If you're trying to save money and don't really care what the car looks like and you are just trying to get around, this may be a good choice. I saved a little over a $100 over the weekend that I needed a rental car, but the car wasn't pretty, which personally wasn't a big deal to me. I was more interested in being frugal. I had a older corolla (probably early 2000s) that had some minor body damage, but was very clean on the inside. Check engine light was on, but I didn't experience any mechanical issues with the vehicle. I'm used to driving older vehicles with that light on anyway, but if you're not this may scare you. It ran perfectly over the 3-4 days and I drove it easily over 200+ miles. Only other thing I noticed was that the headlights were always on once you started the car. The headlight knob/switch didn't do anything. How the renting works if you're picking up at OGG is that they leave it in the public parking lot, and they email what section it's in and the key will be in a lockbox attached to the back of the car. The one thing that may be confusing is that the signs indicating what section of the lot you're in is at the very top of only a few of the light posts and they aren't very visible at night. Additionally if you're picking up the car you'll have to pay the parking fee when leaving the lot when you first pick up the car. You're not going to any easily visible desk at the airport and you won't be talking to anyone. I had zero face to face contact with anyone from the company, and all our communication was via email and text. So again, if you need a lot of direction and things pointed out to you when doing things in general, you probably shouldn't rent from here. I had found this company from Googling randomly for rental car companies while trying to save money, and I didn't read any of the reviews before using their services, but looking over the reviews now I can see that it's been a mixed bag in terms of reviews. But I had zero issues with Manaloha and would definitely use them in the future and recommend them to others. read more

So disappointed with this rental company. The car they gave us was in very poor condition and would shake when driving slow or braking. We called and asked about this and the guy pretty much told us that we didn't know what we were talking about. We also lost the one car key they had given us and when we called to ask for the spare, we were told that they didn't have it. To my knowledge, rental companies are supposed to give you both keys when you rent a car. I was shocked that they didn't have the spare and weren't willing to offer any sort of solution. To top it off, the guy we spoke to was extremely rude every time we'd called: "Hi, we lost our key and were wondering if you guys could bring us the spare? We're willing to pay any replacement fees etc." "Nope can't help ya sorry"..*phone clicks* Thanks man.. Please rent a car somewhere else. Worst car rental experience I've ever had in 30 years. We did an online booking with our credit card and got a confirmation email, showed up at 10:30 PM at the airport defines no car there, vague instructions on the website saying the car would be parked in the parking lot, spent two hours walking around the entire airport with luggage looking for the vehicle only to end up being stranded at the airport, no after hours phone. Next morning go into the office and the owner Sergio was sooo rude with no apologies and saying it is our problem not his. read more
