I went to this donut shop got a bear claw, chocolate filled, and sprinkled donut. The lady said $5.50 at first then I pulled out my card and she said wait $5.75 acting like she counted wrong. The donuts were hot and like any other donuts nothing special except being expensive. I'm so confused by the poor reviews. We have been coming here for a few years. We enjoy the donuts and the service. In my opinion, they have the best maple bars and old fashioneds. The husband and wife that work here are quite friendly. We moved away from the area to Bay Point almost 3 years ago and we have a couple of donut spots a few minutes from our home, but we still dive all the way here for donuts. read more

This place is cool. $11 for a dozen donuts. Came in Saturday mid morning and it was packed with kids and adults, but I got served really fast. The customer service was very friendly. The donuts are very soft and flavorful, everything about them is fresh, they even have a great smell. I've been going here for a long time and never thought to give this place some recognition. There really isn't that many donut spots over here but this place is consistently good, so I guess that really doesn't even matter. read more

Have wanted to try this donut shop but their hours are so few it's always closed when I drive by. They say they are open until 1pm on Sundays but today we drove into the parking lot at 12:45 and it looked like it had been closed for hours. You'd think Sunday afternoon would be prime time. The donuts seemed to be really fresh but I was so disappointed with the quality. I bought donuts and donut holes for my office and when I opened the box I noticed they were lightly frosted, and when I say lightly frosted I mean you could see through the frosting. It really took away from the taste. The donut holes were not fully frosted either, it was like they pored the frosting over a pile of donut holes and only half or a quarter of the donut hole ended up frosted. I also bought an apple fritter especially for a coworker and it wasn't cooked all the way through and had to be tossed, it totally ruined the extra effort I made for that person. I won't be going back I will be going out of my way to make sure the next time I buy donuts they are fully frosted and fully cooked. read more

Great old school shop. Usually has some lines but moves fast and that's how you know it's good. The coffee is actually great too, lots of selection but it's coffee, not mocha Frappuccino or whatever they sell at Starbucks which is right next door if you like that. Donuts are fresh and warm made that morning. The owners are in there at 3:30am baking and open at 5:30. Some of the newer staff doesn't speak great English and they're a little more timid but still friendly enough considering, and the owners are super friendly, almost always there. Super nice and engaging if there isn't a huge line out the door. I personally didn't care for donuts and hadn't eaten them in a while. Not a Dunkin or crispy cream fan but absolutely love this place. It's just the nice neighborhood shop that all the locals know about and it makes us feel good to have breakfast here and leave with a smile, the slightly outdated decor even adds to its charm. I bring my kids randomly for a weekend treat and will randomly stop by on a cold morning when I want some fuel for the soul. read more

Too pricey!! The place is always dead. I purchased half dozen donut holes and a small coffee, it was $2.75! Come to find out when I saw my bank statement, they charged me .50 for using my ATM, and never told me. So my total cost for 6 donut holes and small coffee was $3.25!! I will never go there again, their donuts are pretty good, BUT NOT THAT GOOD!! I will go to Safeway next time, it's in the same shopping center. read more

This business generates a ton of good tasting donuts every day and their location is terrific. However, they do not maintain a clean/sanitary food service business according to food service industry requirements. For examples: 1) The gal at the front counter is always wiping her nose and/or touching her hair and she never washes her hands afterwards, 2) I have seen them sweep floors while open for business, then put the broom down to serve a customer at the front counter. However, they never wash their hands in between, 3) The tables and countertops and not wiped clean with a disinfectant on a regular daily basis. They only "spot clean" as needed. read more

Why doesn't Allstar have more 5-star reviews?? I have toured SF and the East Bay of many donut establishments ranging from Dunkin (which is garbage) to Colonial (serious donuts, very heavy) to Donut Savant (Oakland) and Doughnut Dolly in SF (both high-end gourmet doughnuts). I won't even get into Krispy Kremes because I think they just have specific niche following. But Allstar is really my favorite go-to place. Their donuts are just SO fresh and they also offer a great variety. My favorite donut of all time is the French Cruller (which they do not make on Mondays and Tuesday, by the way). And CK, who is always there when I go in, is a great guy. He smiles and chats with all his customers and it really feels like your neighborhood donut place. The last time I got there at 7:30 for my chocolate cruller and they weren't ready yet. CK and another woman were so apologetic that I would have to wait a FULL 6 minutes (gasp!) for my super fresh and awesome cruller. Then, when they were ready, I bought 2 and they put them in a box for me because the chocolate icing was so fresh that it hadn't set yet and they didn't want my icing to get smudged. And they apologized again for the wait. So, unless you have some special reason to go to one of the specialty donut shops, this place is solid, and they deserve your patronage. read more

Yum. I like this place. They are not the best donuts I have ever had, but they are pretty delicious. And the coffee is above-par coffee for a general donut shop. I brought a bunch to my office in San Francisco for my donut Friday and people were stopping by all day to tell me how my suburban donuts were awesome. And they are pretty harsh donut critics. And the donuts had endured a ride on BART before they got to work. If that is not a five star donut, I don't know what is. read more
