    Señorita bread served warm

I've heard a lot about señorita bread, so when I heard about Starbread Bakery, I had to check it out. It's a little hole-in-the-wall spot tucked into an older strip mall, and I almost missed it. As soon as you walk in, you're greeted by a friendly staff member and the wonderful scent of freslyh baked bread and pastries. The display cases are filled with mochi doughnuts, malasadas, and other unique treats. I ordered a bag of 10 señorita bread and a chocolate-filled malasada. The señorita bread came out hot. They were warm and sweet, and practically melted in our mouths. The malasada was covered in sugar, crispy, and filled with gooey chocolate. I'm looking forward to the next visit. I'll be buying more of both the malasadas and the señorita bread. A great place!

A Bay Area classic. When in the area I make it a point to visit and get my fix. Always served pipping hot. You literally just can't have one. I'd say get a bag of 5 and just live a little. Service is welcoming, professional and yet very laid back. They take their reviews seriously and make changes if needed based on customer feedback. That's good service and explains their longevity and expansions. Ambiance is an order and go spit, no place to sit down or anything. Standing room only. Rule of thumb place your order, the. Go wait outside for it to be ready. Depending on the size of your order it can take up to 6 minutes to prepare.

Always gotta make a stop whenever in the area and a fave yummy treat to gift others. Can't go wrong with their Senorita bread, always piping hot out of the oven and for such a good price! I always get around 20 of these, they don't last too long and taste best fresh. They serve other items like mochi donuts, regular donuts, cake pops, cupcakes, pan de sal, corn bread and haupia. Fresh and hot or room temp, these make a great snack and go great with coffee. Definitely not a daily indulgence, but still a nice once-in-a-while kind of treat and a hit at parties! Service is always quick, the wait isn't any longer than 5 minutes straight from the oven and their bread is unmatched. The interior is small but clean. They accept cash and card.

Starbread has some of my favorite pastries! I'm happy to see there are more StarBread Bakeries opening. Their buttery and sweet senorita bread always hits! I also love how they're always served warm. The staff was very friendly and we got our pastries as soon as we ordered them! I highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area!

Wish there were more StarBread bakery in the Concord/Pleasant Hill/Walnut Creek area! The Concord place is the only one! The Starbread is fresh and hot when boxed! Perfect size and buttered! We usually get a box of 20! Very good to get for a party at work or home! There are many other bakery goods to select from. We love the Malasada. The staff are very friendly and professional. When you are in the area, stop by and try it! You won't regret it!

What's not to love about this place. A true Bay Area icon, there is simply nothing else quite like it. In a world of so many fancy sweets and pastries, starbread holds its own. It doesn't need any fancy gimmicks or designs, just a delicious tan bread. If you've never had it before, star bread is a sweet, buttery bread. It comes in packs of varying sizes, the price is what it should be, and it is always served warm- how it should be eaten every time. The ham and cheese and mochi donut were good, but we all know the real winner. There's no doubt this is a frequent treat of ours in the area. A Bay Area must have!

Do they carry Portugese custard pastries?

    No they do not

    Are they cash only?

If the order is less than $10 yes.

    Do they deliver?

no they do not, but they are well worth the visit, it takes a couple minutes as they are made to order.. omg they are so good

Are they warm all day can i go in the evening and they'll be hot?

My first visit to them was about 30 minutes before closing. We were afraid that they would be cold or worse not have good selection. We were in luck! We purchased 2 dozen original and 1 dozen cinnamon señorita bread they were soft, warm but most…

Receiving a texted coupon for 15% off my order, I was excited to use it since I needed a birthday cake. Though there was an online code, I could not use the discount online. I called the shop several times, but there was no answer, and I even left a voice message but never heard a call back. Finally I noticed there was number on the website to text so I did, and got a response. The response was that it was too late to order the cake, and the coupon couldn't be used online ordering system because the online ordering system was different from what was used in the store. BUT I was told I can still call my order in and pay in advance over the phone to get the 15% discount if I still wanted cupcakes, and if the store didn't answer, the person sending the text said he/she would contact the store. I appreciated that kind gesture. The next morning, I settled for cupcakes and decided to call the order in and pick up the cupcakes in the afternoon since I had no time that morning to go to the store. But lo and behold, I called and again no one answered. I texted the same number from the day before and a response came back that they would contact the store to give me a call. I checked in by calling the store two more times and still no answer. And no one called back that afternoon either. Sadly, I had to give up, but was glad to give business to a way more responsive bakery with delicious cakes.

You will not be disappointed. My wife and son are dessert snobs. Both have been to Paris and say France has the best pastries. But wait, they just came back from Alpine, and what did they say???? We've all had crappy deserts before. Move up to the big leagues and give Alpine a try!

I called in today to see if they could decorate a faux cake for me. Not only was she rude, but she told me she would charge me AS MUCH AS SHE WOULD for a real cake. You mean to tell me it would cost me $100 plus to decorate a piece of Styrofoam? And then, when I told her the shape of the Styrofoam, she flat out said no. As if the shape of the Styrofoam changes the action? And I'm not a baker, at least not a professional one, but something feels off about what feels like the refusal to help me. And it's not like I am looking for free service, I'm willing to pay, but I'm not willing to pay cake prices for icing on Styrofoam. Saying no, as a business is OK, I'm all for it. But customer service needs a serious rebranding. I have never had a good in person/over the phone experience. Their food speaks for itself, but the customer service skills really takes away the value of a local business that has been around for years. I hope whoever I spoke on the phone with has a better day

I came across this pop-up at Epidemic Ales, though you can easily place an order with them on-line for any occasion. My pecan tart was fresh with a flaky shell. For me, the shell of a small tart makes up half of the tart, so it was a plus that it was super duper fresh. The filling was made up equally of fresh nuts but did have a rather prominent taste of alcohol. Some pecan pies contain a bit of alcohol like rum or bourbon. I went on their homepage, and it looks like they also make a Maple Bourbon Pecan Pie. I'm assuming that the tart I got may have been a mini version of that. If you're averse to alcohol in your food, keep this in mind, at least when it comes to their pecan tartlets. Guilty Pleasures makes cupcakes, cakes, pies, cookies and other nicely presented baked goods as well. I spied pre-packaged mixes of mini treats that can be purchased as a nice hostess gift that contained macarons, meringues, and what looked like small pumpkin tarts. I definitely enjoy my sweet treats, but with Guilty Pleasures, it's nice to know that with the smaller bites of desserts I can have them all, minus the guilt...sort of.
