Super friendly customer service, very welcoming people, and just a really pleasant conversation that early in the morning, which honestly made my day. The freshly baked donut selection is amazing. You got everything from old-fashioned plain, glazed, chocolate, sprinkles, classic twists, and pretty much anything your heart desires. The filled donuts are awsome too, although sounds like those are usually made a little later in the day fresh:( The inside is actually relatively big and comfortable, not cramped like many donut spots. One of the coolest parts is being able to see a lot of the baking process happening right there. You can tell they really care about quality seen that freshly baked one-to-one beauty laying in front of you and their customers, who are always happy! Definetely one of the best donut spots around Lamorinda.

The kids fell in love them as family brought them by for a treat. They love all of them though they are particular to chocolate plain. The chocolate and custard cream filled are also big hits. The staff are very friendly and very efficient. They recognize the regulars and treat everyone well. Take the cash discount if you can :) great local favorite and highly recommend.

I say it all the time in my reviews. I've had access to a plethora of coffee and matcha industry. And wherever I am on the globe, I always look for these shops during our adventures. Milly & Illian. My gosh. So welcoming. So proud of the shop, its products and their leadership. I hope the owners know. First timer here and I spent $52. Readers: the $52 was completely worth it as soon as we took a bite of the passion fruit mochi. Heaven sent. It's akin to Kailua's Bits & Bites on Oahu. Please don't ever close. Please stay open longer. This is the first time I've tried this after wanting to visit for so many years. I work full time andddd I live in 707 so it's a little bit of a trek out here. Orrrrr consider bringing this to 707- I would recommend Benicia if you are familiar with first street. You'd kill it here! I want to bring it back to my guys Milly and Illian. I'm big big big on energy and customer service and you both broughttttt it. Being 38 when I visit these very trendy IG worthy spots, I'm usually disappointed- if not by the coffee or dessert, most definitely by the customer service. Read all my reviews, it's my first comment usually. To the owners reading this, seriously give a shout out to these lovlies. They started my day on the right foot. Xoxo Can't wait to see what you bring back from Taiwan (see the guys shared where you are- sure to make the matcha and mochi shop even cooler). I'll come back soon! Kathleen

I've been a regular customer at Third Culture whenever I'm in Walnut Creek, but after my most…read morerecent visit, I won't be returning. I ordered a matcha Americano, and the cashier corrected me by saying, "You can just say matcha neat." That was unnecessary, but I brushed it off. While I was waiting for my drink, she turned to her coworker and said, "I can't stand matcha neat. It tastes like chalk." Whether she intended it or not, making that comment right in front of a customer who had just ordered that exact drink was incredibly unprofessional and rude. It made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. The drink itself wasn't the issue--it was the lack of courtesy and respect. Customer service matters, and this interaction completely changed my impression of a place I used to enjoy visiting. Unfortunately, this experience was enough for me to decide I won't be coming back.

The woman helping customers was genuinely one of the kindest people I've met in a long time. She radiated joy, warmth, and kindness. After an incredibly long and exhausting day, that simple interaction completely changed my mood. The pastries absolutely lived up to the experience. I had the jalapeño cheese pastry, and it was outstanding. Even cold, it was flaky on the outside, soft on the inside, with just the right amount of spice. I caught myself wishing I'd bought another one before I even finished it. My family tried the apple pastry and the sugar donut, and both were equally impressed. The apple pastry was beautifully flaky--you could actually hear the crisp layers with every bite--and the sugar donut disappeared with zero complaints. Great pastries are one thing, but combining exceptional quality with genuinely kind people is what makes a place memorable. I actually considered turning around to buy more before heading home, but I was simply too exhausted after such a long day. That alone tells me everything I need to know. I'll gladly drive the extra distance to come back.
