Super friendly customer service, very welcoming people, and just a really pleasant conversation that early in the morning, which honestly made my day. The freshly baked donut selection is amazing. You got everything from old-fashioned plain, glazed, chocolate, sprinkles, classic twists, and pretty much anything your heart desires. The filled donuts are awsome too, although sounds like those are usually made a little later in the day fresh:( The inside is actually relatively big and comfortable, not cramped like many donut spots. One of the coolest parts is being able to see a lot of the baking process happening right there. You can tell they really care about quality seen that freshly baked one-to-one beauty laying in front of you and their customers, who are always happy! Definetely one of the best donut spots around Lamorinda.

Service was very friendly. They do sell some company merch here. We ordered the jouraku matcha latte with oat milk. We also ordered several of their bakery items including a guava donut, buko pandan donut, mochi banana pudding, and black sesame mochi muffin. I think the donuts are the star here! They are soft and chewy, not too sweet. The flavors are pretty accurate as well for the donuts. The mochi banana pudding was unique, and enjoyable! They did recommend heating up for 1 minute, but you can probably get away with much less time than that. The black sesame mochi muffin was pretty average. The jouraku matcha latte was average; couldn't really taste much of the matcha notes, but it had more matcha flavor than some other cafes. Overall, this was a unique bakery and I would totally come back!

When I checked it myself, the bagel was burnt almost completely black on one side -- to the point it looked like charcoal and tasted bitter. Honestly, it was hard to believe someone could serve it without noticing how badly burned it was. It felt very careless and disappointing, especially since this was food meant for a child. I understand mistakes happen, but this should never have been handed to a customer in that condition. I hope management pays closer attention to food quality and staff preparation standards. And to top it off, they're BTS ARMY too - forever we are young! We ordered a half dozen to share with the family, and it only cost $9. Hubby got a chocolate mochi donut and an apple fritter because the hunt for the best fritter continues on! The fritter is small and relatively flat which is a good way to get a good crunch. The not so good is that there's not many apples but the taste of cinnamon and nutmeg is solid. Hubby thought it cost close to $4. The mochi donut was okay. We can't help but compare to Hawaii. Yep, spoiled! The glaze is the traditional chocolate donut glaze which is too sweet for our tastes. It was a good chocolate flavor. Great shop, easy parking and friendly staff so please support them.
