The cinnamon loaf can be sliced thin or thick. So addicting, we have to limit how often we get this. Pro tip: pay cash if you don't want to pay the card surcharge. Even if you use a debit card there's a surcharge. Order the mini cupcakes ahead of time if you need them custom and want to make sure they have them. I have to share a story about a horrible experience with Sweet Affair Bakery in Walnut Creek to warn others not to order cakes from here, especially online. I ordered a cake online and never got the cake or a refund. I placed an order for a birthday cake through the Sweet Affair website. I received a confirmation that says Sweet Affair and the phone number of Sweet Affair is listed as the contact for questions and concerns...My card was charged under "Sweet Affair Bakery". The day of our party, with a house full of guests, no cake arrived... I called and was told my order was through DoorDash, who manages their online order, and it was a DoorDash "Wifi error," and I needed to call DoorDash. There was no apology or accountability, only blame on DoorDash. The person I spoke to was so rude and spoke to me in a condescending tone. There was an offer to give me a different cake, even though- quote "we can't even prove you paid". When I click on "Track My Order" in the email confirmation I received, it takes me to DoorDash; however, when I click "Help," it says to call Sweet Affair Bakery. So, I decided to email Sweet Affair, since calling did me no good, and I got an auto-reply saying, "We don't respond to emails." I am going in circles with no one willing to help me at the bakery. Came here after a late breakfast at The Breakfast Club. First off, Sarah was AMAZING! She has such a lovely smile and she recommended the chocolate chip with walnut cookie. Let me just say, I'm not a huge fan of walnuts especially in cookies but I will eat them. I broke off a piece and fell in love. I shared a piece with my sister and niece and let me just say when we were backing out of our park, I somehow ended up back inside purchasing 2 more of those cookies and my niece requested the regular chocolate chip which she loved and my sister got a brownie that was ridiculously delicious. I don't know what happened with this bakery. They used to be so good. We used to buy enough to last us for a few weeks. Their bread, for example, we would buy 3 loaves. One to eat for the week and two to freeze. We used to buy the pastries, cupcakes, cookies, etc. Now, we only buy 2-3 things? This bakery fell off. Hard. Everything looks par-baked, raw, or light in color. Bread is not even worth buying anymore. They keep changing recipes or completely remove items. Cupcakes got significantly smaller. They used to fill the entire container. Now they're 2 bite cupcakes. Also, why is nothing labeled or priced? Allergens should be labeled at least. I worked in 2 bakeries and we had pricing, name of item, and allergens listed. Am I supposed to GUESS???? People have food allergies! Don't get me started on the employees. I went there today to pick up a freshly made sandwich versus going to a national fast food franchise. We've been coming here since 1997 and love the roasted turkey with cranberry and sprouts on soft homemade French roll. One sandwich is enough for two people. The soft roll I assume was made on premise; definitely not like other French rolls that are dense and dry. The sprouts add great crunch, the cranberry sauce brings back great memories of fresh sandwiches made at home, and the moist roasted turkey tastes so much better than processed deli meat. The staff are great, very helpful answering any questions, and they greet you with a smile. I removed one star due to the amazing cookies are a bit higher priced than they should be, and it would be great if they had a little bit more indoor seating. What a great bakery. They have so many delicious looking items. The aroma is overtaking. We went early on a Saturday morning and there wasn't too long of a line, compared to other visits. They have ropes that weave around the store to create an orderly line. It's always a hard choice of what to get. This time I got a morning bun. All that sugar and cinnamon goodness. It was fresh and delicious. Next time I want to get one of there sandwiches with sprouts and cream cheese. I have fond memories of them as a kid. I wonder if they will still make my mouth water. There is plenty of seating in back. You don't see it because you're in line busy waiting your turn, but if you look to the left, to the back of the store there is a little seating area. In the back is also the rack for orders that have been called in. There were several loaves of bread ready to be picked up by patrons. What I really wanted was a loaf of their bread. It looked delicious and they slice it right at the counter for you. I bet it would be so much better then the typical storebought loaf we usually get. I saw wheat bread on the shelves. I'm not sure if they also sell white. I do believe they sell a cinnamon and raisin loaf. I don't know if they can put that one through the slicer or if you're on your own for slicing it. Prices have increased over the last few years (thanks to the rising cost of business in CA) so it's not quite as good a deal as in the past but still a GREAT sandwich/salad/pastry.
